Quest of the Magi (Accepting Last Character/Starting))

I grin, staring out at the forest before looking back at Veeren and Holly. I bet he’s feeling ‘protected’ now… with TWO shape shifters on his side… “Yeah,” I say, smiling, “Sure you can come with us.”

As it gets dark my vision begins to change, as per usual, improving in the darkness. This could almost be… fun.
I don’t say as much to the others, though they do seem a little surprised by my ability to see in the dark.

Veeren’s walking speeds up and we have to almost run to keep up. “What’s the rush?” I ask, looking up as strange bird-like creatures swoop over our heads.

Siris

Me and some others go off on a hike. What they didn't know is I saw a barn in the distance I also wanted to show them that I thought would work perfectly for training our powers. The idea would be to travel there, since it wasn't to far, daily and train using hay bales and the barn walls as target practice. We could also use the animals within the barn to practice protective and healing spells. I thought the idea was perfect and presented it to the group that was traveling with me.

Veeren

"Rush? I'm not rushing," I said as I saw a big shadow pass over the ground, "I just... really wanna find some supplies."
Wow, I'm a bad liar.

I led them down to a creek not too far from camp. I stopped and watched the water flow past us down to the left. It was nothing impressive, maybe a foot deep and few feet across, but it was the bottom that surprised me. It was pure black.
I could tell it wasn't just deeper water because I could clearly see where the dirt met this black... stuff. Seeing no smarter option available, I did the only thing I could think of, I jumped in.
I braced myself for the worse, but nothing happened. I was right about it only being a foot deep, and it was only a few feet across, but unfortunately the bottom was still black. I stuck my hand into the water and scooped some of it up, or tried to. It was hard, and it was sort of shiny, but what was it? And why was it at the bottom of the river?

Whatever feeling I had of leaving camp was gone now, but now I was confused again. Hoping they would know something I didn't, I looked to Holly and Ash for answers.

Holly

Well I was revealed that they both let me come we set off and Veeren was walking faster the me and Ash. Ash asks Veeren "What’s the rush?”
"Rush? I'm not rushing," He said as he saw a big shadow pass over the ground, "I just... really wanna find some supplies."
he lead us down to a creek where the bottom was black with something. Veeren jumped into the creek and tried to pick some of it up but it looked like it was hard to do. Then he looked up at me and Ash seeing if we know anything. "Here let me touch it" I asked so he cam over to me and held out his hand to let me see what it was. After feeling it I had a idea and crotched down and turned into a small house cat and smelled it. But after smelling it I know what to do with it so I changed back and grabbed some maple leafs and made a small cup. "Here put it in here and I want to take it to Wrayth I think that she could help use with this" I suggestive.

As everyone else left I started working on the tree houses using some of my healing spirits to help as I was working I noticed what seemed as the girls mostly getting attached to Veeren as they left, Siris walked off with some others an I dint look around to see who stayed with me.
"You'll always be alone", I heard my older brothers voice in my head, "you ran away from everyone your whole life even your family maybe it was the best you left."
I shook my head tears running down my face a bit he was right ill always have that alone feeling just like I had with my family all I can remember was my older brothers depressed face he cared so much back then I wonder if he'd even miss me...I don't think he does not like many would care if I was gone I haven't even talked to half the people here.

Ken is feeling left out

Ken

I yawn land on the top of a building next to a lake. I stretch my wings out and close them up, before anyone can see them. I watch these...humans...no...whatever they were run around, and train. I giggle quietly.

Ash

I stand back silently as Holly and Veeren study the strange, dark water with curious expressions on their faces. I shake my head as I step forward, smelling the strange chemicals…

Familiar…

Suddenly I remember something. Last year when I was on the run from a bunch of hunters (who were convinced that could catch me and get prize money) I’d seen a pool of water similar to this.

Halfway through the expedition the hunters had stopped to get a drink and after only a few seconds one of them had keeled over, growing pale…
Dead…

“Hey guys!” I gasp, loudly, walking towards them, “Whatever you do… DON’T drink that stuff… or any of that water for a matter of fact!”
“Why?” “It’s contaminated” I whisper, noting their shocked expressions as Veeren almost dropped the homemade cup. “I want to show it to Wrayth,” informs Holly, “I think she could help us with this.”

I nod, looking around at the forest for the millionth time, “Yeah. That does seem smart. You… you guys… should go back to them now…” I look from her to Veeren and then back of them, “But I still want to look around some more. There’s got to be more out here then poisoned water…”

Me and my group finally reached the barn that I had seen. When they saw the barn they thought it might actually work better for shelter and training than a high ground, possibly clumsy clubhouse. It also meant that training could start immediately and time wouldn't be wasted constructing the clubhouse that could be spent training so we could get going. Suddenly, Wrayth spoke up.

Wrayth Oleander
I sat down on the ground my back against the barn wall. "Well the water's most definitely contaminated. Probably fouled by the creatures." I said and poured the cup onto the ground. "What can we drink?" Holly asked desperately. "Hope it rains and we aren't that far from the town maybe I and someone else can go and buy water." I said shrugging. "Not that bad of an idea who are you bringing?" Siris asked. I walked outside the barn. "KEN GET YOUR ARSE OVER HERE!" I shouted so he could hear me. He flew over. "What?" He said. "We need to go into town and buy water along with other supplies figured the ailment and the death elements may have a better chance together." I replied. I rocked back on my heels waiting for his answer. I was surprised I'd been talking more and hadn't had the urge to hurt myself. Ok I was lying but I hadn't got the oppurtunity.

I got done with the tree houses and also the ladders to get up to them. Kikas helped with the ladders while the healing spirits brought wood to make it and we made bridges between them when i was done i sat down on the blanket i've brought with me and just looked around no one was here anymore, guess i was left alone I just laid down sad. Guess no one really cared...guess I was just alone...or maybe thats my life just telling me that from being alone for so long. I fell asleep laying there with Kikas in my arms.

“Yeah. That does seem smart. You… you guys… should go back to them now…” Ash said to me and Holly, “But I still want to look around some more. There’s got to be more out here then poisoned water…”

Yeah, I had that feeling again. I was not going back to that camp, even though Holly was already gone. Not only that, but I wasn't going to leave Ash alone in this forest. What if another giant dog showed up?

"Yeah, I'll just... head back now." I told her.
Once I thought I was far enough away, I took cover behind some bushes and looked for Ash. I thought I would follow her for a while, make sure she was safe, I thought. Then I heard footsteps, no, pawsteps. It sounded like a pack of wolves, but they weren't headed towards me. They were going to... camp.

I stood up and looked towards where the wolves were going, straight for camp, but no one was sill there, right? Did anyone stay behind?

I got up quickly when Kikas shook me I looked outside to see the wolves they were in a pact. I hid in the tree house holding Kikas hoping they would continue on. They didn't seem to find what they wanted but they smelled something...meat. I wasn't an idiot to go out there on my own especially because I was a healer not a fighter like most of the people.

"The only thing you can do is sit and wait, patients is virtue." My conscious told me, for once I listened and waited.

Ash

I start to walk off, listening to the footsteps of someone running off. Holly? "Yeah, I'll just... head back now." Veeren yells as I walk away, in the opposite direction and I hear his footsteps disappearing as well. I keep walking but soon the forest starts to get really overgrown and I have to start climbing over fallen trees.
After a while that gets old and I stop, forcing the change over me. I probably should’ve done this earlier. I can see way better now. Then I see something up ahead that makes me blood stop pumping a little... A pack of wolves, stalking through the forest, on silent feet- to the general direction of our campsite.
I’m about to chase after the wolves, to see what they do when I see a cave in the distance.

Where the wolves come from?
Silently I fly towards it, still high in the air when my blood freezes. Surrounding the cave (and from the little that my eyes let me see into the cave) I see at least another fifty wolves...

Then there is an ominous howling in the distance and I throw myself in the opposite direction, flying as fast as I can back in the direction of the camp, moving a LOT faster then I ever could on foot.

Veeren

I looked around for a weapon and found a stick bigger than my arm. I carried it and silently walked up to where the wolves had gathered. I didn't really want to fight them. I was raised by animals of the wild, they were like family to me. Maybe I could calm them down, get them on our side, all they wanted was food right?

Before I could get close enough to them, I noticed wheat they were gathered around. It was a tree house, and inside was Koitsuki.
"Pretty nice construction project for just one person" I said to no one in particular.

I stepped up to the wolves and some turned to face me. I raised my hands in defense, trying to show them I meant no harm, but that was a bit hard to do with a giant stick in your hand. A few of them began to growl softly.
"Nice doggies. It's okay, I'm not here to hurt you." I whispered to them. They began moving forward slowly. They circled around me, my hands still in the air. But I could tell they weren't angry now, they were curious.

Hopefully, that was a good thing.

Holly

Well after showing the water to Wrayth she said that is was not safe to drink and decide to go to town with Ken. Then I look around and see that Veeren did not come back then I get a bad feeling and head toward the forest. Then when I was in the forest I changed my form into a small sparrow hawk and cruse through the forest until I see a shape fly over. So I turn and follow as fast as I could but by the time I get there there is a war going on. So I fly up to a tree house construction and turn back and come up be hind Koitsuki "well look what he has done again." She looked around started and looked at me then I saw her face look relieved to see me. "Wow i like what you did with the place do you have room for one more i feel so safe up here" I said looking at her then looking at the battle. "Well i guess we should do something I can protect Ash and Veeren and can you try healing them if they are hurt." After feeling my power come out I yell down "you are safe from any physical attack I think"
