Ken

The large dog is running at Veeren. I shout at it, and it stops and looks at me.

"Here doggy," I whistle, smiling. The others look at me crazy as it starts to run at me. I took a deep breath just as the dog was on top of me. I knew I could only control him for five minutes.

As the dog was about to step on me, I unleashed my fallen angel form. I grew taller, my wings becoming more visible, forming form four into two large black ones. I gripped a sword in each hand. The aura and smell of death came from me with such a force.

I sliced upwards, and flaming skulls flew up from the ground and into the dog. The dog flew into the air and hit the ground with a loud OOF! and the ground shook from the impact.

I exhaled my breathe and released the form, forcing the angel back, before falling to my knees breathless.

I watched as Ash started running towards me, and for the first time questioned if she could actually control herself in that form. I braced myself for the worst, but at the last second she turned and faced the giant dog, who without me noticing, was about to bite me in half. I breathed a sigh of relief and surveyed the area.

The only other person I could see needing help would be Koitsuki. She could barely stand up. I used my now refreshed power and raised my other hand to focus on her. My aura grew around my fingers and soon around her whole body.

The only problem was that I had no way of protecting myself anymore. But at least now I knew what irony felt like.

Before I had anymore time to think about it, I watched the dog fly into the air and land with a huge thud. Standing above it with a sword in each hand was an angel like figure. It was both the scariest and most beautiful thing I had ever seen in my life. Just as fast as the dog had fell, the angel began to shrink and lose its wings. I watched as it turned into a man, no older than me. It was that guy, Ken.

Trying to contain my relief, I muttered to myself "Took him long enough."
But before I could celebrate, or even let my aura up on Ash and Koitsuki, I heard the dog growl.

I noticed that the problem was getting bad very fast. I noticed Koitsuki on the ground, so I quickly ran to check on her. After asking her what was wrong, she shyed away. I knew she was drained, I could feel it. I asked her if I could borrow her staff and she openly refused. I understood, she felt she needed the staff, or maybe even did. I knew that ken turned into a weird angel-like thing, but it wasn't important now. Everyone was in trouble with the 3-headed dog, I believe its called a Cerberus, getting up again. All of a sudden, I saw a god appear before us. It was Hades, god of the underworld. I quickly dropped and bowed before him, for I didn't think I was worthy, and was actually scared. He told me to get back up, so I did. He was yelling at the Cerberus. This was because it belonged guarding the gates of the underworld, not tormenting mortals, or semi-mortals in our case. I was so relieved to see what happened, and even deeply humbled. I was surprised, and knew that the crazy **** was just beginning. Know we could finally continue our journey.

I will replace the **** with something else if it is wished, just post the request on the Discussion Thread.

I stand in silence as the boy with the same power as me turns into a tall angel with black wings and a sword in each hand. I feel the impact as Death strikes the dog along with the angel’s swords and sends it flying to the ground.
But that doesn’t last because a few seconds later it pulls itself to its feet, snarling at us. Angrier then it was before.

Suddenly then the whole of the clearing is surrounded by a dark light that blocks the sun and I look over to see a dark figure walking towards us.
Hades. God of Death. The thought comes to me instinctively. Maybe because death is my power or maybe just because he’s and all powerful god and everybody knows who he is at first sight. Whatever the answer Is I don’t dwell on it, bowing my head slightly as he walks past, to where the monster dog is.
Cerberus? Of course. How could I not have realized that straight away? A minute later the god of death and his companion are gone, leaving a trail of darkness behind them and for the first time in hours I let myself relax a little.
The others all look a little shaky but otherwise okay. Even Koitsuki looks a little better now that the dog is gone. I look around the clearing at the others, some still staring at the obvious trail of darkness, and ask , “So... What now?”

"Well, I guess we can finally try and get some progress made, but I think a major thing we need to do is spend a week here to train, this way we can actually stand a chance next time a battle arises. There are a bunch of small beasts around here too, so we can test our strength against them. So, why don't you try and figure out your talent? Just try and focus energy outside of yourself towards a beast and see what happens. This should at least clear up the question of our powers for now.

I was scared to voice my opinion but for once i just wanted people to feel happy and safe, I hope someone was listening aleast.

I listen as the others talk about setting up camp and training, looking around at the “smaller” monsters that roam around.
I look around noticing how it’s actually starting to get dark now; we must have been fighting for a while.
I look around at the others, “I agree with Koitsuki. We do need rest if we’re expected to train for the next week… But I think that if we’re going to sleep we need to take it in turns. Have people on watch … or something, so we don’t all get murdered in our sleep.”

I get a few nods and I start looking around again wondering where we are going to set up camp.

"The easiest place to sleep would honestly be in trees it doesnt look like much monsters here can fly later on we can build treehouses so people can take turns building and training and gaurding it gives us all something to do and also supports the group we may need more than a week also so we can get supplies for the journey since it seems we don't have much for it." I said.

I didn't like that I was giving opinions because I never thought I was much of a leader. "I'm sorry if I sound bossy just voicing an opinion you guys can do something else if u think it would be better." I said getting shy and quiet cuddling kikas.

When Koitsuki suggested we should sleep in the tree's, I felt a surge of relief flash through me. I had always felt most comfortable in the air... even if it's only in a tree.

I don't say this out loud though; I nod and turn my head upwards, taking in the tree-line and trying to find flat-er branches. There a a few, maybe a yard away but they don't look like they'd be easy to climb...

Not that that's a problem for me and the others that can fly... But what about those who can't? I shake my head, we'll figure that one out when we come to it.

Focusing my full attention back on the group I manage to hear the last of Koitsuki's sentence and shake my head, " Nah. Don't worry. You don't sound bossy. You just sound logical."

Then I add, "Hey, It's actually starting to get a little dark so we might wan't to start moving... Maybe we should split up?" I phrase it as a question, "like some people look for food. Some people look for... I dont know, some kind of equiptment and some people start up camp? Work on the 'tree house'? And we should have a fire. Because even If I don't know all that much about animals and such I know that a lot of them aren't really attracted to fire..."

I take a breathe and an omnious howling sound echoes in the distance.

I didn't have the weird feeling anymore, so I guess we're gonna be camping out in the woods. Not that I wasn't used to it. I lived in the wood almost my whole life up until recently. But sleeping in the trees? That didn't sound so great to me. From my experiences in the woods, the creatures that you'd find flying were usually in the air, you wouldn't see them from the ground. I didn't say anything out loud, though.

When Ash suggested ideas for splitting up, I thought it'd be nice to look for some food, even if I didn't really eat any. I was about to suggest that we could go hunting, but then I noticed Koitsuki cuddling her pet bunny... thing. Even if the animals in this forest weren't nearly as cute as her pet was, it'd still be wrong.

In the end, I decided I was definitely going to look for something, anything, as long as I got away from this 'camp' for a while. I said, "I'll go look for, uh, supplies.", then I looked towards Ash, thinking it would be nice to have a dragon come along, just in case.

After being thrown off I landed hard on the ground I felt some of my bones where broken. Then I felt a warm ting all over my body and the broken bones slid into place then I blacked out.

When i came to it looked like it was all over and every one was looking around so i walked over to the group to see what to do."We also have to set up a base of operations if we do, we'll starve if we don't, we also need to make sure we get rest is we dont we wont have enough power to train" said a girl looking a little unshere.
“I agree with Koitsuki. We do need rest if we’re expected to train for the next week… But I think that if we’re going to sleep we need to take it in turns. Have people on watch … or something, so we don’t all get murdered in our sleep.” some one i think said there name was Ash.

I look around at our little group to see confused, anxious and worried expression on a few people’s faces as they glance up at the tree-tops.

After a while Veeren speaks up, "I'll go look for, uh, supplies…” He glances at me, then around at the various creatures visible through the tree-line and I sigh, grinning a little.

“What’s up Veeren? Scared of the Big Bad Wolf?” I shake my head, making my voice lose the teasing ring, “Nah. After what we just went through I wouldn’t go anywhere alone. Even if you do have Out-Of-This-World protective powers. ”
I shake my head, looking around at the others, “Well it looks like we” I gesture at Veeren and then back at myself, “are going to look for food.”

I look up at the tree-line, wanting to say something convincing to the others; wanting to make them feel a little better, Instead I say the only thing that I can think, “ It might be easier for the people who can fly to work on the tree- house at first… so nobody falls and hurts themselves,” I look around at some of the others, looking a little confused, “and everyone who can’t fly, well… I’m sure there’s a ton of supplies that we can find out here for the journey…”

I gesture around at the forest and out of the corner of my eye I see a few people nod.
Well, says an ever constant, patronizing voice in my head, now that you’ve said ALL you can, Ash. You better get to work. Before anyone realises how PATHETIC you actually are.

I shake the voice from my head, looking back at Veeren, “So… where do you want to start?”

After hearing what Ash said I watched her and Veeren start to walk away with each other. I think about helping but I wanted to be with a smaller group so i run up to them. "Um Veeren I just wanted to know if it was ok if I went with you I don't really feel comfortable yet with the other people. But with you for some reason a feel like I know you in some way. If thats ok with you?" Then I look at ash " and if it is ok with you ash as well for covering my back it was a stupid thing to do but I felt this need to protect Veeren"

I sighed then lit a cigarette. I inhaled then blew a smoke ring up towards the sky which suddenly looked a bit darker then usual. I was confused then smiled as Edgar landed on my shoulder and a few other ravens landed on the ground in front of me. 'Keep watch please and keep me updated.' I said. They all bowed and flew off. I looked around at the rest of the group and sat in the middle of the clearing looking around at the creatures sitting outside the circle. I wondered how long we could be safe and I shook my head going back to smoking.

Before I could answer Ash, I heard a voice say "Um Veeren I just want to know if it was ok if I went with you.."
It was the tiger girl, Holly, I think.
"I don't really feel comfortable yet with the other people. But with you for some reason a feel like I know you in some way. If thats ok with you?"

The way I saw it, the more the merrier. Now I'd be with a tiger, AND a dragon. Plus if worse came to worse I could always protect them. Not to mention that I was flattered that she felt a connection with me.

"Sure." I told her, and she looked towards Ash for her answer.
I was just noticing how dark it was getting. I was relieved. I was always more comfortable travelling at night. Then again being in this weird forest with a bunch of new kinds of creepy-crawlies was sort of dampening my mood. I had to get away from this camp as fast as I could.
