Thanks for pulling my character in Nargles! I always have trouble doing that myself
Alyssa/Artemis
This is the second person I've run into today. I'm slightly agitated, but there's something different about this girl. Something about this fifteen year old girl with red hair that alerts me. Do I know her? No, I don't think we've ever met. But I know her, I swear. It's the strangest feeling.
"Hey, don't worry about it," I respond when she apologizes for knocking me over. I guess running calmed me down. I'm surprised I don't blow up and explode on this poor girl, ripping her to shreds because she interrupted my run. I'm a nice person, sure, but if you interrupt my run, I won't be too happy.
"Are you all right?" I ask. The girl stumbles backwards as if she's going to run. I hope she doesn't. I need to know more about her.
"I'm fine, I just really, uh, really need to go." She starts to walk away and I'm stuck watching her go. Then I realize she can't go, I need to talk to her.
"You are not fine," I say sternly. Of course she is completely fine, but I need some excuse to talk to her, right? "Come on, I'm hungry. Let's go get something to eat."
I pull her after me and towards my favorite cafe sitting on the corner of the road I was running. It's a small little place called Cafe Ost. It's not the best cafe in New York. Actually, it's probably serves the most watered down, gross coffee, but it's calm and relaxing there.
"So what's your name?" she asks as we enter the cafe.
"Alyssa. What's yours?" I say, being polite.
"Rose."
I nod and lead her in through the entrance and head to my booth. Just as we sit down, one of the waitresses comes by.
"Would you two like any coffee today?"
"Where's Erin?" I ask. I know he works today, he texted me this morning to complain about it. If it weren't for him, I wouldn't come to this place. Okay, maybe I would, but a lot less often.
"He left early," the waitress responded, lips tight. "Now do you two want any coffee?"
So we order coffee, decaf for me and regular for Rose. We make small talk while waiting for our coffees. Rose keeps looking out the window, her face twisted into an anxious look. I wonder what's going on in her mind?
I'm just about to ask when our coffee arrives. I take a guilty sip and put it down. Coach wouldn't be too happy if he knew I was having coffee after a long run. He'd want me to hydrate. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. But this is a special circumstance.
"So, what's up? You're all nervous and stuff. Who were you running away from?"
She gets this strange look in her eyes and points out the window. "Those guys."
