Sebastian;

I always liked the library. Quiet but filled with knowledge and life. It had a sort of flair to it that few people appreciated. My journalism paper was coming along slowly; for someone who had dedicated their life to knowledge and academics, this was hard. I checked my watch - 9 AM. I sighed. Even with two degrees in journalism and online courses every day I never had school, this paper was taking forever. It was a personal one, "The Day/Event that Changed My Life, And How I'm Going To Use It To Change Others' Lives" was seriously a dreadful topic, mainly because I didn't have one. Of course, I could turn normal events into a great story or essay, but my professor made it clear for me to keep the highest rank in the class, nothing short of a miracle would resurface.

I would go as far enough to say 'Paranormal'. I sighed again. It was strange coming back to New York to study writing here. Journalism in London college was different; the life was different. I guess because my lifestyle to become the best writer/scholar in my generation kind of killed my social life, starting in grade school when I spent holidays and weekends preparing for the test we would have in a month instead of going to movies or dating. I was really lucky; if I hadn't taken part of my life to devote it to martial arts, I would be a genius, but probably very unhealthy, obese, or even dead. I sighed again. Stupid paper.

Spoiler
LoyalHeart gave me permission to make his post for him due to complications. He'll be able to make his next post, but wanted to go ahead and get this one up. My first post follows.

Haylee

I watch the New York skyline as I wasn't totally sure what to be watching for memories from seven months ago flash in my mind, I wasn't sure what they were telling me. I felt angry without reason, hateful without a reason to hate, in my memory I saw two young men one holding straws. Another time in a dark throne room feelings of loneliness and sadness come back, was I lonely then. A pain behind my eyes erupts another memory that's supposed to be there but isn't is trying to come back.

I move my hand to squeeze the bridge of my noes trying to get rid of the pain behind my eyes, I could barely remember anything from my past life as Hades. But if I was alive and regaining memories, then that meant my brothers were to, I wonder if there alive and in New York now.

"You alright?" I hear.

I look to see Noah, the reincarnation of Apollo, my nephew, but he wasn't my nephew anymore he was his own person now. I close my eyes only to reopen them once more and look at him.

"I'm fine, the power of the gods radiates within New York. My brothers are somewhere in this city." I said.

"Posidon, and Zeus. And the other gods." He said.

"Correct, I must find them post haste. Only with our power united may we once more become the strongest of the gods." I said.

"And may we only be able to destroy what had killed us in the first place." I continue.

````````````
Noah
Slinging my bag over my shoulder again, I climb up the fire escape and smoothly bring myself up to the roof. With each step, memories flash before my eyes and remind me why I left the Home. Months after, I'd finally caught up with someone like me, Haylee. Now here I am, remembering all this still, travelling with a girl who hosts the soul of my uncle. That still is going to take some getting used to...
Shifting my bag again, I find her sitting on the edge of the building squeezing the bridge of her nose.
"You alright?" I ask, pausing behind her.
She glances at me, taking a few moments before speaking. I sit beside her on the roof before she does.
"I'm fine, the power of the gods radiates within New York. My brothers are somewhere in this city," she responds.
Oh god, not this again.
"Poseidon, Zeus, and the others gods," I state, suppressing a sigh.
"Correct, I must find them post haste. Only with our power united may we once more become the strongest of the gods," she says, "And may we only be able to destroy what had killed us in the first place."
I don't quite know what to say after that, thinking about my most recent memory. Or was it one of those weird coincidental dreams? I don't know... Sighing, I run a hand through my hair before nodding.
"Right," I say. Let's hope so.
I'm never what I like
I'm double sided
And I just can't hide
I kind of like it
When I make you cry
'Cause I'm twisted up, twisted up
(Sorry it's taken me so long to get my profile up; I've been busy ^u^ I'll post soon ^^)
Name- Zoe Ryder
Age- 16
Gender- Female
Incarnation- Hermes (yeah, I know he’s a guy, but still ^^)
Appearance- Red-ish hair with golden highlights always in a bun and a semi-tangles mess (if it was let down it’d reach just below her shoulders), Mischievous green eyes, medium (slightly barely leaning towards the slightly smaller end of the spectrum), although she’s 16 she looks a little younger.
Spoiler
HermesDemigodpic ^u^ FOR-YWS.jpg
She usually wears a white tank-top and tan cargo pants with a lot of pockets. She also is always wearing her hat ^u^
HermesDemigodpic ^u^ FOR-YWS.jpg (185.75 KiB) Viewed 169 times
Personality- She’s very childish and mischievous, and always speaks her mind. If she feels like something is a bad idea she’ll tell you with a side-dish of sass and clever/mocking remarks and if need be tons of complaining. Although she’s not one to normally give out compliments often, she will give one if she thinks it’s deserved but against her will. She’s also very, very loud.
Despite her very much felt presence; she’s plain out expert thief. She can rob you, blind or not, and you’d never know. She does it more for the sport and rarely steals anything of much importance and doesn’t steal much from the same person and makes sure they’re rich and won’t miss it. If she sees a woman or man carrying tons of groceries to his car, she’ll take like a box or two but not much else. With a wallet that may have tons of cash she’ll only take a five or a ten if she needs it. Rarely does she ever take a lot from someone, only if she really needs it and the person deserves it.
She can be incredibly stealthy and although she makes a point to be heard she can blend into the shadows or into a crowd if need be. She has a knack of getting into trouble and then slipping her way out, leaving the chaos to ensue behind her.
No matter what it almost always seems like she has some ulterior motive. Although once she’s established deep friendships she is incredibly loyal (not in the slave sense; in the sense that she will always fight at your side and stick it to the end). Although it seems like she never really opens up to anyone, you come to realize eventually that there isn’t anything to open up, what you see is what you get (except for the ulterior motives, that is ^^’’). She's also very easy going.
Although she has one place she likes to call ‘home’ she’s rarely there and likes to move from place to place. She hates people who don't follow some honor code. And snakes. Those things creep her out ^u^
History- Zoe's mother had loved her deeply from the moment she was born. Although her mother was training to be a doctor and had to drop out once she found out she was pregnant, she never blamed her. If anything, she blamed herself for not having Zoe born into a better life. But Zoe never minded. Her mother and her live in an apartment by themselves, ignored/forgotten by her mother's family.
As soon as she was old enough to crawl, she'd been causing trouble. From pranks, to things disapearing around the surrounding apartments. It was always something. Once she learned that thier econimic situation was not the best, she started stealing food and money not only for herself and her mother, but for other people that lived their too.
Although she's incredibly clever, she's never been to school; in her eyes it was pointless and took time away from more important things she could be doing. Her mother constantly objected, but she didn't force her daughter to go.
When she was younger, Zoe spent all her time in her mother's apartment. Now that she's older and is more capable of taking care of herself, she spends most of her time away, sleeping where ever she can. She does visit her mother often, but is generally free.
She is as of yet unaware of the whole incarnation thing. ^u^
Powers- She can fly, for one thing. When she does little wings appear on the heels of her sneakers and her hat ^^ Besides flight she can heal, and can bless people to keep them safe on thier travels. And she can see the dead and interact with them, although she doesn't do so often.
Other- Up for love, straight (good luck, to whoever tries ^u^) Always has her Ipod, lockpick kit, and a few flash bombs that reside in her messanger bag. ^u^
Sebastian;
Twenty minutes. My head was starting to pound. Twenty effing minutes spent on staring at this accursed blank piece of paper. I ripped the paper in half and put my head in my hands. More people were in the library now.
"Why am I in such a writer's block?" I asked myself. "I never get writer's block. Never!" I scoffed to myself and pulled my bag off my chair. I packed my things and spent some time browsing the non-fiction aisle for some health encyclopedias and maybe some article/blog topics. I ended up checking a few large books about medicine and a fiction book; it had been a while since I did some leisure reading.
I checked out and walked out of the library, clutching my still aching head as I did so. "I need to get some Advil from home next time." The pit of my stomach ached and I had a feeling of dread run through my veins like ice. The feeling I always get when I sense something troublesome. I quickly ran into the nearest building, a Subway.
Zoe Ryder
~I sit perched at the roof's edge, looking out onto my city. New York City. They say if you can't make it here, you can make it anywhere. If that's true I could practically dominate the world. A smile cracks across my lips. But that wouldn't be very interesting, now would it?
The saying should be; If you can make it here, you won't want to be anywhere else. Reaching over to my messanger bag, I pulled out my ipod and headphones. Slipping them under my hat and over my ears, I shook it; shuffling the songs.
'To Close', by Alex Clare. The song bursts through the headphones, filling my ears with the now-familiar song. For a moment I stare blankly at the Ipod, wondering what could possible posses it to pick this song so much.
'But there's something inside that I need to release
Which way is right, which way is wrong
'
I close my eyes, tilt my head back, basking in the glow of the sunset as the song fills my head. My smile returns and I start shouting the lyrics to the music with conviction.
"And it feels like I am just too close to love you
There's nothing I can really say
I can't lie no more, I can't hide no more
Got to be true to myself
"
It's almost like a message, but from who or what I can't know. No Biggie. For now, I'll just enjoy the music.
Just as I'm about to lie on my back, I see something from the corner of my eye. I look over to see a woman being chased by two thugs. Dirty rats.
'Got to be true to myself'
I sigh, smiling, as I stand.
"Very true, very true, my friend" I say to whatever is possesing my Ipod, "Time to show these guys some honor among thieves."
Getting a running start I jump across the buildings in the direction of the chase.
'So I'll be on my way,
So I'll be on my way.
Name- Rydia Charo
Age- 19
Gender- Female
Incarnation- Ares
Appearance-
thCAMH499W.jpg
thCAMH499W.jpg (5.38 KiB) Viewed 156 times
Rydia has black hair and green eyes. She only ever wears black and red. She always wears combat boots and keeps her hair up.
Personality- Contrary to what you might thing about what the reincarnation of Ares is like, she is actually a well tempered person. She really isn't good at much until you try to fight her, then your dead. She can take you down with anything, though if it's a street fight you're engaging her in, you've pretty much lost already. She's fast and strong but will never waste energy on a fight. As for her personality, she's a good friend and the type of person you always want to have your back. She's suprisingly unagressive, and is really laid back. Though if you manage to get her fired up (which I don't recommend) she can lose her temper, then she gets mean. She is good at creating chaos
History- (In this life, not the previous) She was born to a upper middle class family, her mother was often absent, normally traveling, and her father worked full time, though he loved her and her brother fiercely. Since her parents were scarcely in the picture her older brother, Taylor, and her practically raised themselves. He has a similar personality to her, and because he is also good at fighting like her (though not supernaturally) he enlisted into the military. Since then she rarely sees him. When he left she was about twelve. Her school reported her being very agressive to other people, so her father set her up with boxing lessons. She obviously had a natural love and talent for the sport and she quickly rose in ranks, defeating almost everyone at first (except for her instructors) then going on to beat even them. At fifteen she placed first in the Olympic trials, and won four gold medals. One of them for fencing, which she took up at fourteen. The summer she turned nineteen she also won five gold medals. With her money she bought a boxing gym in Brooklyn which quickly became the most successful boxing gym in New York.
Powers- She only has two powers. She can beat anyone in a fight, and can create chaos and disorder in any organized group of people.
Other- Up for love (heterosexual)
Nella vita vi è la distruzione, desolazione nella morte, ma c'è speranza nella rivoluzione.
Sebastian;
I smoothed my pea coat and readjusted my headband. I made sure my belongings were in tact before I walked up to the counter and ordered a sandwich and some hot tea. I paid the cashier and sat down and ate my second breakfast for the day. I was just about halfway through when I saw a pair of men walk through the front door chattering animatedly. I turned my hearing onto their conversation while I continued eating.
Man, can you believe it?
I know! That kid must be crazy. Jumping from rooftop to rooftop. In New York nonetheless!
This was getting interesting really fast.
She's probably one of those parkour junkies.
[i]Probably. Hey, you know if that Meatball Sub thing is still the monthly special here?[i/]
I shut them out, grabbed my stuff, and headed outside. A girl jumping from rooftop to rooftop? That would make an excellent story, at least it would give me some sort of inspiration to write my current paper. I ran outside, heading in the direction the men had come from before entering the restaurant. I bumped into many civilians, some weren't too nice about it either, but I felt my gut clenching again.
I felt my feet trip over something and I stumbled into an alleyway. I hid behind the dumpster when I saw two goons trapping a woman against the wall. I hid my stuff behind the dumpster to retrieve later and walked slowly and stealthily behind the men, them unaware of my presence. I swept my leg out and caught all four of theirs. I made sure it was at an angle to where they fell on their heads and became momentarily stunned. I helped the woman up, who was now cowering on the ground. "Run!" And she did without hesitation. I was just about to leave when the two of them got up and cornered me against the wall.
~Damn! I would have gotten here faster if I hadn't tripped. Rubbing my cheek, I shrug it off and look over the edge of the roof.
Looks like I came just in time to see someone else save the lady. I watch as she gets cornered. Well, atleast I didn't come for nothing.
I stand and let out a mischievous laugh that is heard throught the entire alley. The thugs look around frantically, then look at each other. They know what the sound means. I jump and land behind them. When they turn, I'm standing.
For one instant I make eye contact with the conered girl. I smile slowly as I look away. She's a smart one; she'll know what to do.
"Good evening Gentlemen," I say bowing with mock courtesy, "Fine weather we're having, yes?"
Immedietly the girl lashes out at one of the thugs. As the second turns to see what is going on I leap on him, bringing him down face first into the floor.
It's done in an instant; both crooks are down and out of the count.
"This'll teach you not to pick on other kids." I say leaning over them, secretly taking their wallets out of their pockets.
I laugh again. This is always so much fun.
I turn to look at the would-be heroine. She had short black hair, and is probably older than me. I don't know her yet, there's something familiar about her eyes. I cock my head to the side for a moment, pursuing the thought.
I shake it off and smile.
"Hello there," I say as I hold out my hand, "Now, what were you thinking jumping into action like that? You could have gotten hurt."~
I let out an agitated cry and throw my pencil across the room. No matter how many times I try to solve this math problem a different way, it's still way off. Glancing at the clock I realize it's been two hours since I started my homework. It's a measly four problems which makes me feel stupid. How hard could it be to solve four problems?
I pack everything up and stuff it under my bed. My dorm room is considerably small and the only space I have in under my bed. If my mother ever saw this, she'd freak out. But she never will see this because she lives all the way in Oregon. And I go to school in New York. There's no way she'd be willing to fly all the way out here.
There's a cool breeze coming in from the open window. It's begging me to come out, take in the fresh air. It hates seeing me stuck at this cheap desk doing homework. I need to escape.
I change into something more comfortable and pull on my running shoes. They fit perfectly and feel snug around my feet. They're my safety net; a constant reminder that no matter what happens, running will always be there. Always.
I open the door and head out of my dorm when I run straight into someone and fall backwards.
"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry!" the girl who ran into me offers her hand to help me up. She hadn't been knocked over, but had just been pushed a little off balance. Lucky her.
"It's fine, really," I say, pulling myself up. "I'm just heading out for a quick run." I try and head out, but the girl blocks my path.
"You're Alyssa Newman! You run track!"
"Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm amazing. I know. Now can you let me go? I need to run." I push past her and ignore her pleas for me to come back. I'm not in the mood to sign an autograph. Why is track so popular at this school? I'm not complaining, but it's not usually the most popular sport. That's football or basketball.
Once I'm out of the dorm building, I start running. I quickly make my way off campus and begin my run, making my way along the streets of New York City.
I was walking down the hospital corridors trying to make sense of what was happening. Trying to make myself calm down and just step away from it all.
I was finding it harder and harder as every second I was coming to the realisation that I will have to go back to my Grandparent's. I don't want that, don't want to go back to living with them. I love them but I just can't do it.
I want my dad back, want things to be like how they use to be. I still can't quite believe that he had a relapse, I shouldn't have been as naive as to think that all would be fine. Of course it wouldn't! Since when had anything in my life been fine.
"Rose, come back in here." My grandma called.
I ignored her and continued walking, all the way down the corridors and out of the hospital doors.
I just walked and walked, being guided along by a sense that I can't name, can't put into any form, didn't know where it came from but . Yet at the same time I trusted it completely, trusted it enough to follow it, let it guide me.
From the moment I turned that corner I knew I was in trouble. There's something extremely suspicious about three men huddled in a corner.
I decided I'll walk past them with my eyes down. Unfortunately paying no attention to them didn't work. As I passed them they pulled away from each other and started to follow me. I didn't want a fight, didn't know how to fight and I'm sure I couldn't have beaten them anyway.
They were drawing closer and closer, so close that I could feel their breathe on the back of my neck.
I shivered and took a split second deciding what my next move should be.
Then I ran.
*One thing I forgot to mention Zack has a siberian tiger as a pet, of course it's telepathic. Also I would appreciate it if people posted their god as well as their name.*
Zack/Moirai:
Zack stepped back, hands on his hips, and admired his work. The new statue of the dean was now spray painted bright pink and dressed in woman's underwear. Behind him Tasha yawned displaying a mouthful of razor sharp fangs. "I can't believe you actually signed your name." The tiger commented.
He flashed his partner a crooked grin. "It was part of the dare, besides I needed to vent some stress. You think they'll buy it if I tell them the voices in my head made me do it?"
"Doubtful, humans can be so blind to the world around. They're like ostriches, they go through life with their heads in the sand."
As Zack was about to reply he sensed movement along the fate strands. He shuddered, his normally grey eyes flashing tawny-gold, blue violet, and a silver flecked black. "Somethings happening." Zack said.
Tasha pressed against his side the caress of fur steadying him. He shook his head and looked up at a night sky filled with roiling clouds. "Some of the others are nearby."
Then track them. I will meet you back at the apartment. The cat flicked it's tail and melted into the shadows.
Zack shook his head at Tasha's contrary nature and took off running. Left, right, right, straight, another left. He turned and crashed head long into a girl a few years younger then him.
"Owww." She groaned, rubbing her head.
"Sorry about that." Zack stood and offered her his hand as a trio of guys sauntered up to them.
"Hey pretty boy why don't you leave the bird with us and scram. While you're at it you can ditch the wallet too."
Zack's lip curled in contempt as he drew on his power. "Leave this place and forget you ever saw us." When his spoke you could hear three seperate voices twined together. One a smooth tenor, the second a rich baritone and the last a rumbling bass. Zack hated scum like this, he tensed for a fight.
"It's a natural instinct." I replied simply. "What can I say? I'm a fighter as well as a scholar." I grabbed my bag from behind the dumpster and walked back to the girl. Then it dawned on me who she was. "Wait, are you the girl who a few people have seen free running or whatever along the rooftops?" This would be a good story, but I had a feeling I didn't want to expose her. I wasn't afraid of her; she looked fifteen/sixteen-ish, maybe even younger for all I knew. There was something different about her. "What's your name?"
hey Noelle I hope you don't mind our characters meeting up? if so let me know and I'll change it!
I sprint as fast as I can. Trying to put as much distance between me and the men. Surprisingly they aren't as fast as I thought giving me who is light weight the advantage.
I ran onto a busy street filled with people, I try to blend in hoping that the men want try anything. I stop running but continue to walk at a quick pace.
Turning around to look at the men I don't realise the girl I walk straight into.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to" I quickly apologise. Staring up at her I see a tall strong looking girl of about 20.
"Hey don't worry about it" she replies "are you al right." The girl looks at me quizzically.
I stumble, urgent to get away from this girl and my pursuers yet also not as she gives of this sense of protection.
"I'm fine, I just really umm really need to go." I start to walk of but she grabs me arms.
"You are not fine." She says sternly. "Come on, I'm hungry let's go get something to eat."
This strange girl pulls me along so I have no choice but to follow.
"So what's your name?" I ask, if I was going to have lunch with this girl I should probably know her name.
She turns to face me "Alyssa, what's yours?"
"Rose."
She nods her head, pulling me into a cafe and into a booth.
