I look over her, something coming over me, and lower the gun a bit. She's...lived in the same building as me for months and I've never noticed. My first job was one of her crimes. How did I not realize the connection...?

"Now...we wait," I murmur, unsure of the feelings swirling around my chest.

Remembering the extra gun in my boot, a small smile forms on my face. I cross one foot over the other and realize he's never taking his eyes off me. Seriously, S. Just get you're gun.

He looks away for a second when he hears the sirens and I get my gun quickly, slipping it in my jacket when he turns back to me.

I glance away for a moment, hearing the sirens, and know she'd moved somehow when i look back. Studying her, I find nothing out of the ordinary and don't press, leaving it be.

Seeing the open window, I slowly move towards it, him watching me but not making a move.

That's weird.

Studying him, I make a quick move and slide out of it, running when I get the chance.

D*mmit... What the hell is wrong with me?

I lower my gun and try to think of a way to make this seem like I didn't do what I did. Back up arrives and I take a deep breath before facing my superior.

"She got away," I say, "I was too late."

I get to the apartments and drop infront of the building, taking my head in my hands. His face shimmers in and out of my mind, making me wonder why I didn't shoot him when I had another gun, but then I remember what I thought about him that time when I saw him in his apartment.

Ugh...what. Am. I. Doing.

They send me home early, definitely not happy with my performance. Unable to stop thinking of the girl, I head up to my apartment and wonder why she had such an impact.

I see the guy and I rush inside and slow down when I get there, walking up the halls to my room.

Distracted, I stagger to my apartment and leave my door unlocked before plopping down on the couch with a beer.

Stopping when I see him walk into his, I think for a second, something making me walk over and hesitate before knocking.

What am I doing?

I think about before just running, but then he answers. I freeze, no words coming, and can't help but flush when I see him face to face.

Someone knocks at the door and I set the beer down, answering it. I freeze, my heart stopping in my chest, when I find it's her. Clearing my throat, I think to call this in but then decide against it for some reason, "C-can I help you?"

Still no words coming, I look away for a second and clear my throat, "Uh," I shake my head before turning around, "Nothing," And with that, I hesitate before walking back to mine.

Confused out of my mind, I swallow and close the door. Shaking my head, I plop back down on the couch and down the rest of my beer. Okay...

I get to my apartment and close the door behind me, shone how wanting to go back there more than ever now. What am I thinking?

Wanting to so bad, I think for a second.

I'll just...oh my god I'm stupid. I need an excuse to go over there. Um...Oh! I need my gun fixed!

Sighing, I pick up my gun and walk out again, knocking again. When he answers, I take my gun in hand, "I need it fixed. You know how to right?"

She knocks on the door again, her gun in hand, and asks if I know how to fix it. Uh...would this be considered aiding an abetting?

"Um...yeah," I reply, leaving it at that.

You own everything that happened to you. Tell your stories. If people wanted you to write warmly about them, they should have behaved better.
