Name: Prince Kirin Ashtaroth ("Kirby" to his friends)
Gender: Male
Age: 17
Appearance: Kirin is about average height, and he has a trim, athletic figure. His hair is reddish-brown, and it falls sloppily across his forehead. His eyes are cinnamon brown, and he has a few freckles on his nose. He doesn't like to draw attention to himself, so he usually wears nondescript pants, riding boots, and his favorite leather coat. He usually wears a bored expression, and he's very hard to read.
Skills: Kirby inherited Metal from his father, the king, and Wind from his late mother. Although the king tried to train him to use his magic, Kirby preferred to teach himself, and he spent hours messing around in empty rooms in the palace. He's learned to manipulate his Metal sorcery to mold metal objects to his liking with a wave of his hand. He's skilled with Wind as well, but he hasn't found a practical application for it yet, so Metal remains his greatest strength. He forged his own sword, which he practices constantly with, and he can always find new ways to experiment with his sorcery.
Personality: Kirby is, in essence, a rebellious teenager. He hates the idea of having his life mapped out for him, and he makes sure the world knows it. He can't stand politics, or the thought of running a kingdom, and most other things around the palace bore him half to death. He befriended some of the nobles his age, but they're mostly for company. He keeps it hidden from the king (as he tends to do with everyone) but he's actually very smart. He has a head for math, and his sorcery inventions rarely ever go wrong. His reckless experimenting will sometimes get him into trouble, but because he's the prince, he can usually talk his way out of it. He'll often sneak out of the palace for hours, or even days, at a time, without telling anyone where he's going.
History: Kirin has very few memories of his mother, as she died shortly after his sister, Garnet, was born, but the memories he does have are very happy. This, along with their clashing personalities, is what drove him and his father apart. Although he's not always aware of it, he's crafted a mental image of his mother that he strives to emulate. He refused to let himself be spoiled by his lavish lifestyle, and he taught himself the values of hard work and perseverance at a young age. He has never gotten along with many of the other royals, which has made him feel very out of place for most of his life. He often jokes that he was swapped at birth with the real prince. He discovered his magic at age seven, and has been teaching himself to use it ever since. When he was fifteen, his father began trying to involve him in the affairs of the kingdom. Such things bored Kirin, but once it began to cut into his experimenting and running-away time, he began to truly hate it.
Up for love: Yes, straight.
Other: Kirby, in addition to playing with metal, enjoys studying birds. He made his own spyglass and watches them from his bedroom window whenever he can't get out of the palace.
