Jace

"Ray, wait!" I call out, hurrying out of the water and chasing after her, "I'm sorry. I...I didn't mean that. You're right. I'm sorry."

Rayah

I stop and look at him. "You just said what you did ruined my life. You keep telling me that everything is because of you. If you think that so much, maybe we shouldn't be together," I tell him, holding back all emotion.

Jace

My heart breaks inside me and I swallow, taking a step back.

"I-I don't... Rayah..." I can't find what to say, "I'm sorry. I'm sorry."

Rayah

I shake my head and keep walking, crossing my arms. I enter the naborhood and get to my house, slamming the door when I walk in. Jesse walks out of her room, seeing me like this.

"Rayah what's wrong?"

I shake my head and just plop down infront of the door, taking my head in my hands as she sits next to me.

Jace

Dammit! Why do I keep doing this to myself?!

I drop where I stand and take my head in my hands, curling up and trying not to cry.

Rayah

I ignore her and start to feel the thing in my stomach again. I stand and run to the bathroom, doubling over.

Dear god please help me..

Jesse couches next to me and calms me.

"I'm going to make you some hot cocoa," she says, standing and walking to the kitchen.

I nod and watch before doubling over again.

Jace

I try to calm down before taking my phone out and calling her. Please pick up, please pick up. I freaking love you, Rayah. I didn't mean any of that.

Rayah

My phone rings and I pick it up before walking out into the living room where Jesse gives me my hot cocoa. "Hello?" I answer.

Jace

"Ray...I didn't mean any of that," I tell her, my voice wavering, "I didn't mean it. I love you. We can make this work. I-I'm not abandoning you like this."

Rayah

I sigh. "I-I think it's best if we take a break," I breathe, talking softly. "I can't deal with a relationship right now."

Jace

I pull at my hair, squeezing my eyes shut, "You - "

No...she doesn't need me, does she? I just hurt her...

"I-If that's what you want," I bring myself to say, hiding the cracking in my voice.

Rayah

I nod, staying calm. "I-I do... When I get everything settled and once I'm not this stressed, maybe we can get back together. We can still me friends. I hope you understand."

Jace

Maybe? Be friends? How do we go back from here?

"Yeah," I say, wiping my eyes, "Fine."

Rayah

I nod again. "Thanks. I'll see you in school. I have cheer practice tonight and the football game is tonight. I'll see you there...if you're going. Bye, Jace," I say, glancing outside.

Jace

"Bye," I say, hanging up.

I take a deep breath and walk home, waiting to fall apart until I'm inside.
