Welcome to Nephalia, tourists. I welcome you to Nephalia!

Here you can enjoy the wonderful twenty-story tall malls, or the tasteful outdoor restaurants. Take a stroll in the parks if so your mood takes you, or maybe, rich and prominent citizen, board our luxury cruise ship and revel in the natural beauties of the Isles of the Blest, safe Heaven for our mightiest champions.
But not all is as it seems...

There are just a few rules, as mayor, I would like to inform you of, for your own safety:

No godmodding - those who attempt will be immediately struck down, for reasons that will become apparent later
No sex - it might disturb the peace of our inhabitants. By which we mean, dear tourists, our weapon disintegrates them as soon as they step into the city. There are no struggles in our utopia.
All vampires, demigods, and assorted mythical denizens WILL be exterminated on sight - Nephalia has a long feud with these monsters, and will not hesitate to kill them all in it's quest for peace.

I stare in awe at the city around me, unable to comprehend such delicate yet astounding architecture. It's nothing like I've ever seen back on Sapphire. Everything is so new, so shiny. Every book back home had misled me to believe this civilization was nothing compared to ours, though in reality we are the ones behind. Deciding to make way, I head towards one of the parks, as it is the one thing that reminds me most of home.

I walk the streets, the place was very outstanding. Buldings marked the estates, and a mall rounded the blocks. There were numerous resteraunts and hotels also. I walked into one of the hotels, my books held in hand, and signed in with my very delicate cursive. Once done I walked back outside to check out everything. I heard there was a nearby park so I headed there. I sat on a bench when I did get there and opened my book.

The park is near empty when I come across it, just a girl with a book sitting on one of the benches. Thinking it odd if I were to go up to her and sit down, I take the bench across and sigh. I watch as a pair of birds spaz out and chase each other around the trees. For a moment, I think I'm back home.

A boy sits in the bench across from me and I flash a quick smile before looking back down at my book. I catch birds doing this...weird thing up in the trees and I couldn't help but smile wider, liking th peace and quiet.

The girl flashes a smile at me and I furrow my brow, looking away. What exactly would that have meant? Did she want me to come over there? I shake my head at myself and stay put, unsure as to what the signal meant.

I look back down at my book before finishing it. I stand and gather my things, humming as I take a walk.

I wonder if they have coffee. Hm. Yeah. Coffee sounds good right about now.

She gets up and walks away, leaving me frowning. Before I can think otherwise, I rush after her and catch up, having replicated car keys I'd seen her jangle in her purse.

"Excuse me," I say in my accent, coming off as slightly Irish, "You dropped these."

I smile weakly, trying not to go overboard with the friendliness, and hand them over with knowledge that they'd disappear once she placed them with the real set.

I stop walking, confused. I know I had them. I take the keys anyways and flash a smile. "Thanks," I say, dropping them in my pocket, liking his accent.

I flash another smile before remembering what normal people do next in these situations.

"I'm Cyan," I extend my hand for her to shake.

He extends his hand for me to shake and I hesitantly take it. "Clove," I introduce myself. In my homeland, if someone found out about your powers, you would be locked up so I didn't tell him anything more.

"Ah, Clove. A pretty name for a beautiful girl," I say before thinking I'm laying it on too thick, "Would you like to get some coffee with me sometime?"

I nod slowly, flashing a smile. "Yeah. I'd like that," I say, crossing both my arms over my book. "Thank you."

I had ended up here this morning. I wanted to leave just as I came but when I saw- really saw- the city, I told myself, just a day. I had walked around for a while, looking at all the buildings and shops around when my gaze landed on a green park. I didn't see anyone else there except a couple, maybe, walking away from some benches. They didn't see me, in all my dirty gloriness, as I skipped over the sidewalk and took a seat on one of the benches. They still didn't look at me.

I flash a smile and nod too, taking a step back.

"I'll see you around then," I say.

The grand in the hotel rings with broken tunes; the guests frown; the concierge winces. But the blue-hatted boy is happy and braver than they.
