The taxi finally pulls up at the habour and slowly we all pile out draging out bags with us and looking out for the ship.
Simon is the first to spot it.
"Wow!" He gasps, grabbing hold of my sleve and dragging me over to the edge of the dock so that we can get a better look at the ship.
It's massive.
Actually no, massive is an understatment fot this ship.
It is humugously massively, freakily, huge!
"It's amazing," I say slowly to nobody in particular.
Simon nods, grinning ear to ear and looking happier then I've ever seen him.
After a minute or two of just starin up at the ship I manage to drag my little brother bak away from the side of the ship and over to the bridge onto the ship.
My parents hand two men in uniforms the tickets and then where off, luging out bags with us over to a small door leading downstairs to our room.
This is going to be amazing.

Simon
The room her on the ship -the Mockingbird II, is really, really, really big.
It makes all of the other motel rooms from other holidays look so small in comparison.
"Un-pack your bag," Ari says, "And then we'l go above deck, okay?"
I nod, grabbing my bag and running into my room, basically throwing all of my bags into the closet.
"Ready", I say, then to my parents "We're gonna go above deck for a while... um I wanna to see the ship as it leaves."
Mum nods and Ari pulls out her camera and smiles.
"Okay, Si, Lets go!"
EVERY DAY MIGHT NOT BE GOOD...
BUT THERE IS SOMETHING GOOD IN EVERY DAY.

Don't be sorry your darkness is gone. I'll carry it for you.
Always. I'll keep it with mine.

Gotta catch em all!

"Wow," I chuckled. "You have an island?! Your family must have a ton of money..." Alysha had a new ship, and now an island?! All I ever got were CDs and occasionally a new golf club--and that was when I had extra money from working overtime.

"I haven't seen you in a while," Alysha commented. "How do you like the ship?"

"It's great," I answered. "I love it. Just a dream to pilot. I've heard a few people complain about the sonar, but it's been fine for me." I had heard a lot about the sonar from Halley, the second officer, but he complained about everything. Most of the time, I just ignored him.

I looked around the deck, wondering if I'd ever feel comfortable without my uniform on. It was so strange to be wearing shorts that I almost couldn't concentrate on anything else. It was pretty hot, so most of the passengers were inside, but there were a few people still out. One of them was a college-age girl, standing over by the railing. For some reason, I thought I recognized her--but from where, I didn't know. From...from a musical, perhaps? I couldn't remember.

I breathed a sigh of relief as the car finally came to a stop at the harbor. I got of the car and walked towards the dock while Alex pulled my bag out of the back sit.
Alex had to travel a lot due to his work and when I was younger he use to take me with him. One good thing that came out of that is how good I became at packing bags. So, I could fit all my stuff into a single duffle bag and that is the only thing I have to carry.
Alex walked up to me and put the strap of my bag, gentle on my left shoulder.
“You like it?” he asked motioning to the ship.
“It abnormally huge.” I said staring up at it.
My initial wave of anxiety had faded away and was replaced by excitement. I smirked, thinking of the stuff I could do in there.
“So you want to go in now or what?” he asked walking up to the entrance, with me on tow.
He handed the ticket over to the man at the entrance and turned back to me, “Try to have fun, I’ll call you every day, don’t worry, don’t do anything stupid and try not to brake thing.” He said sternly
“Sure, whatever.” I said dismissively
“I mean it..” I hugged him tightly and ran inside before he could start lecturing me about be safe and what not.
“Bye brother!”
“I’ll stay until the ship leaves the Dock, okay.” He yelled over the crowd.
I walked around the ship until i reached my destination. I took a peek into my room before fully entering. It was pretty big room, befitting for the size of the ship itself. Remembering what Alex had said, I placed my bag on top of the king-sized bed and headed up to the deck.
I leaned over the rails to try and look for my brother when my phone started vibrating in my pocket.
“hello?” I pulled my phone out and answered without leaning back.
“what do you think you’re doing you idiot?” Alex yelled into the phone furiously.
“Alex?” I asked confused.
“You could fall dimwit! stop leaning over the edge will you?”
I leaned back,”you can see me! Where are you?”
“There’s no way you’ll be able to find me in this crowd.” He stated
“You should go back inside, Layla.”
“Nah, I like it up here.”

Spoiler
hey guys this post is in my phone, so if there is a lot of mistakes I will fix them later.

Lindsey

I board the ship and some how mange to find me room on the huge ship. It is amazing that something this huge can float. I use my card and open the door. I smile and throw my bag on the bed.

After I finish unpacking, I run out of my room to go explore the ship. Everyone is standing around inside stating the fact that it is too hot to go outside. I have not been outside yet, so I deside to go see what is on the deck. I walk around the outside of the boat. The sun beats down on my skin. I love the feeling of the breeze in my hair and not having anything to worry about. Just pure relaxation. I head over to the railing and loOK out at the ocean. The way the sun rays hit the beep blue water is priceless. I turn my head and see a guy looking over at me. I look behind me to be sure he is looking at me. When I turn around, no one is around. I smile and walk over to him. ''Hi.'' I say.

The girl I thought I recognized turned around and smiled at me. "Hi," she said.

"Hey," I replied, a little surprised. "Ah...sorry for staring...I just thought I recognized you from...somewhere..." Crap. I haven't even been on the ship one day, and I've already completely embarrassed myself...

The girl grimaced. "Seen any musicals lately?" she asked hesitantly. I nodded, and she smiled knowingly. "That's probably where you saw me," she continued. "I'm in college, but I took the gig to get a little extra money."

"Then you took the money and went on a cruise?" I asked jokingly.

"Pretty much," the girl replied, shrugging. "I needed a vacation. I like the ocean, don't you?"

"Can't keep myself away," I chuckled. "I'm an officer on the ship, actually. Racked up a bunch of sick days, thought I'd take a week off."

I smile. ''Wow nice job. I would love to have job where I got to be on on a boat like this.'' I say to him. I realize that I have no idea who he is and he has no idea who I am. ''I'm Lindsey by the way, and you are?" I ask.

"I'm Will Marino," I replied. "And the job is wonderful. Sometimes, I still can't believe I'm actually getting paid to sail on a cruise ship." Lindsey laughed.

"So what do you do, exactly?" she asked.

"I mostly oversee things," I answered. "I pilot sometimes when the other officers are on break, but really, I'm there in case anything goes wrong. Like last year. Did you hear about what happened to Mockingbird I?"

"That was the one that sank, right?" Lindsey said.

"That's right," I confirmed. "What a disaster. That one has some design flaws, though; this one's much better."

"Good," Lindsey chuckled humorlessly. "I don't really want to spend my vacation on some life raft."

"Me, neither," I agreed. "So...I'm just curious...do you not like acting? You made a face when I mentioned your show."

"Was it that noticeable?" I ask. He laughs and nods. "It's not that I don't like it." I begin. "I guess I have just fallen out of love with it." I say. "I might be in love with it again if I got to do show on a ship like this. I want to travel, see the world. Acting, dancing or singing does not always allow me to do that." I say to him. ''I am sorry I just wasted five minutes of you life."

"Whoa!" I chuckled, a little taken aback. "You didn't waste it! I was afraid I'd be too shy to talk to anyone all week. Halley--he's the second officer--he says I have no people skills. We actually have a bet about how many people I'll talk to. So, not a waste at all. If I can talk to four more people, I'll get twenty bucks from Halley." I smiled at Lindsey.

I laugh and turn back to face the water. Will turns ans faces the water too. "Well I must say, I am glad to be one of the people to help you get twenty bucks." I say smiling. "You don't seem shy. But I grew up in New York, so I am kind of use to people ignoring me or trying to mug me. Where did you grow up?" I ask him.

I finally got off the plane to end up in a car, great... I thought. After about twenty minutes the cab pulled up to the docks. I got out and looked at the ship; it was truly beautiful, the driver handed me my bags as I traded them for his payment.
I boarded the ship and went to my room, it, was, amazing! I threw my bags on the bed, paid the cabin steward, and went to explore the ship. I looked over the ship "I think I could survive the jump, maybe...." I said out loud and smiled

"I'm from California," I said to Lindsey. "The San Francisco area. I went to school there, too. Naval Academy. There are a bunch of bases out there. I went to Hawaii for a year, too. They let me pilot a destroyer. That was pretty fun..."

"So you're not far from home at all," Lindsey remarked.

"Nope," I said. The harbor was in San Diego, another city I knew well. I had been to the naval base here, too. Piloted one of their aircraft carriers, in fact.

I felt a slight vibration in my feet. Lindsey felt it, too--she looked down at the deck, and then back at the dock, to see if anything had changed. "Is the ship moving?" she asked.

"No, not yet," I answered. "That was just the engines starting up. We're standing right over the boilers, and if they're all started at once, you can feel the vibrations."

I smirk and look, down at my feet. "Well I guess they are all on then. You sure know a lot about the ship. The engine, the boilers. Is this what you love doing? Working on ships like this. Is it your passion?" I stop and realize I was being really personal. ''You do not have to answer that if you don't want to. I have a problem with not thinking before I speak." I say. I realize how stupid I sound. I never knew how good I was at embarrassing myself.

"It is, actually," I replied. "And don't worry about it; I usually don't mind personal questions. I've been sailing since I was...oh, about eight years old. Sometimes I think I spend more time on water than on land." I took a second to laugh at myself. "After long runs on the ship, I sometimes get really dizzy on land, because it doesn't move." Lindsey started laughing, too.

"And I've been on this ship for almost a year," I continued. "I know this thing better than my own house. I can give you a tour, if you want."

I smile. "I would. I might now be able to get back to my room on this huge thing. I get lost pretty easily." I say to him. "Lead the way." I say smiling.
