Part Two

Law and order exist for the purpose of establishing justice and when they fail in this purpose they become the dangerously structured dams that block the flow of social progress. -Martin Luther King Jr.

Background:

Spoiler
A worldwide problem for government leaders is growing stronger. Until 2002 most gangs murdered for themselves, just groups of teenage boys with too much pride settling problems. Then one man changed everything. In the year 2003 a young man named Thomas Cortwell conjured up the idea of Justice Troupes, later called Cort Gangs. These were gangs that hunted down deadly criminals who got out of being sentenced because of small 'details' or good lawyers.

Thomas himself was an ex-cop, removed from office over a small infraction. He was sick of the American justice system, and decided to change it. He was trained, dangerous, and brilliant. Twenty long years after he was shot and killed, his legacy exploded to a worldwide mission. In over thirty countries around the world, gangs of hit men working under the table with police force were tracking down the world’s most dangerous criminals.

The gangs are always balancing between working under the table with police force and hunting down serial killers. Known to attract ex-cops, runaways, and society's rejected, these gangs aren't for the faint of heart. But who ever said you were?

Part two starts where a gang has been split up by their police commanders and is re-united again a year later at the rebellion of a former member. Everything has changed. Some people won't come back. New people will arrive.

They are rebelling against their superiors by even talking.

So where do they go now?

Name/ Nicknames: Rebecca Avery Scout (Becky, or Scout)

Age: 22

Picture and Description: ALL HER TATTOOS WERE REMOVED. She's a lot thinner now, with more developed muscles and a more angled face (as a result of eating less and working out a lot). Her height is the same, though, at 5'8''. She almost always has cargo pants and a black top on, and has her belt on her at all times. (It has her gun holser on it).
Spoiler
Image

History Since Breakup: She was sent to a military training base in Delaware. Immediately after arriving, they told her to either get her tattoos removed or quit (as per military standards). She chose to get them removed. At the base, she trained alongside future Marines and Navy Seals to heighten her fighting skills. She was also personally mentored by several well-respected officers in leadership and weaponry. For a while, she missed the gang life. After a while, though, the training began to become part of her, and she became cold and serious. She fell into her new role as a "serious leader", and is becoming part the government she once hated. She doesn't believe in a lot of things she used to, and lost her will to rebel.

Secret(s): At the base, she fully realized her level of affection for Sean, but chose to ignore it and she thinks she has let it go. She also has one tattoo left in the middle of her back that says "Cortwell".

Other: Nothing right now.

History Since Breakup: After the break-up, he never returned home. He took off to a bigger city where he could hide and hopped from gang to gang until he'd left his mark everywhere. After a near death experience he keeps hidden, he slipped deeper into his addiction and added alcohol to his list. He still found a way to keep his skills sharp and dropped the use of his switchblades, leaning towards gun use instead. He wants nothing to do with his past, so he's trying to outrun it.

Secret(s): His father's abandonment and mother's death still haunt him, but he's learned to accept his faults and bury them. He won't admit it, but he discovered he had feelings for Tyler after the gang was split up and he couldn't see her every time he woke up. He drinks to her often, but promised himself to never seek her out, in fear of not meaning the same. He still doesn't understand himself, still doubts himself, but no longer cares. He won't tell anyone about his near death experience or anything related to it.

Other: Carries a handgun and both his switchblades, though he only carries the blades for show. Has marks around his neck that he will not talk about no matter what.

Yes! I was waiting for this to come back. :D
Can we begin with Andy busting out? After Becky's post, of course. ^^
Profile should be done soon. :)

Name/ Nicknames: Andrea "Wildcard" Vintelleci.
Age: 21
Picture and Description: Same, except for the highlights of purple and red she's got since then. (As a sign of rebelliousness, of course.)

History Since Breakup:
Andy's not been idle. She spent a month or two in prison for arson - apparently they blamed the burnt house on her. When she was finally released, she found ut that Amos had left his old home after being attacked. He'd managed to evade the 9-0's and was now in a private hospital. Soon after, was contracted by the police for an infiltration job - which was to end in assasination - that took up almost six months. She used this opportunity to find where the rest of her team was - she was determined to get them back together, no matter what.
Once she was done with the infiltration, she was contracted by Special Ops, where she trained for a while. However, there were too many attempts to sabotage her precious custom guns and to induct her into the army for her liking, so she escaped, and went to find one of the other Cort gangs. She was sent to jail for another month - this time for blowing up a mansion - before being released again, and being sent on surveillance - a mission which she decided it was okay to ignore.

Secret(s):
Old: That her father was a member of the government. She has since found out that he was killed by the people as he was a corrupted official of the Spanish government.
Her mother is alive, and teaches in a kindergarten downtown. This is to protect her - though the Cort gang knows her location.
New: She threatened James' son, something she's not proud of.

Other: After she and Charles rescued Oscar, and after their meeting with Amos, she has new guns. Or, more specifically, her old guns are back. She used these when she was being used as a weapon by the other gangs - she doesn't even remember who she's worked for, now.

Sooo excited this is back :D!! Hope this is ok

Name: Sean Phoenix

Age: 24

Picture and Description: Same, but he’s got some stubble now and his brown curls are a little longer. He’s got bags under his eyes from lack of sleep and he’s become a lot thinner and paler.

Spoiler
Image

History Since Breakup: After the team broke up, Sean’s former friend, Oscar, betrayed him and sold him out to the 9-0. Since then, the 9-0 have been mercilessly trying to hunt Sean down. Every motel he’d stay at was attacked the next day until no place was safe for him anymore. So Sean lived the rough life, moving from motel to motel. Still reeling from Oscar’s betrayal, he carried on with his plans to bring down the 9-0, secretly tracking down missing evidences from old cases, and speaking with other former gang members as well as some specially assigned undercover agents who have infiltrated other known gangs.

A few months back, he got a call from an old family friend saying that his mom, who is an alcoholic, is dying and wants to see him one last time before she goes. Sean took the first train home that night but by the time he got to the house she’d already died. He’s now hit his all time low and barely leaves his mom’s empty house.

Secret(s): Since his mom’s death, he’s stopped taking his anti-depressant pills, and has become an insomniac. He still has no idea why, but the first person he wanted to see after his mom passed away was Becky. He called her and left a voice message but she never got back to him. He doesn’t want to admit it, but that hurt like hell.

Other: Sean still keeps his 9-0 tattoo covered with a big plaster

Let's start this thing!

Rebecca Scout

I looked again through the scope, then at the target. I could feel Captian Woods bearing over me. Intimidation was his favorite game.

"Now." His voice was a soft, but strong command. I fired, and the shot echoed through the room. I looked through the scope to see a shot just inches to the left of the heart painted on the plastic target. I tried not to let my frustration show on my face.

"It's still better," Woods squinted through his scope, "but not by much. Keep working Scout, the analysis is in two weeks."

Analysis. The words had been haunting me for the last two months. That was the day the Troupe members would come and judge whether the gang would be re-united, and determine if I was fit to lead them. Mentally, I was ready. Physically-I looked again through the scope-not so much.

The doors behind me burst open, and I stood up from where I had been laying in prone position. Automatically, my hands clasped behind my back and my feet spread shoulder with apart.

"Captain," the secratary nodded at my superior, then looked at me, "There's a visitor for you here, Scout. She's waiting in the main office. She told me to inform you it's urgent."

I quickly ran down a list of names at who might be visiting me. I considered my parents, who I had re-connected with recently, then realized they wouldn't have given a message as urgent. She? A Troupe member perhaps?

"Permission to leave, sir?" I looked at Woods, but was careful not to meet his eye.

"Granted." I nodded, and followed the secretary down the winding hallways to the main office. As I walked inside, I noticed an all-to-familiar face. For the first time in a while, both fear and confusion began to course through my veins.

I kept my voice even, my facial expression blank; "Vintelleci, what are you doing here?"

Spoiler
Not sure if that's what you had in mind, musica, but I thought that might give you a place to jump in. If it's not, I can change it.

Note: It's going to be difficult to get Becky to leave, given that she's somewhat become the government's toy/ been brainwashed.

Thanks for the opening, Kaywiia. :) Also, I'll be switching to first person. I'm considering Charles as an NPC this time around too, is that okay? And Tyler too - unless July comes back. Then I'll change it.

Andrea

I was tired of this. I'd been in and out of jail in the past year and I hadn't seen any of the othesr. Officer James promised I could see them after every assignment was completed - but how I was supposed to do that was beyond me. My off time had been spent pacing the lockers of a jail - the same one everytime. I wasn't stupid enough to break out - there was no way I'd be allowed to rejoin the Corts then. They took away my guns, and that only irritated me further.

On my previous mission, I'd managed to learn the locations of almost everyone - whether they were dead or alive. I hadn't found Tyler but rumor had it that she'd been killed - which I found hard to believe. Beck had been transported to a military base - I had yet to find out the details. I'd decided that the first thing to do was get our team leader back. I had a feeling that James was the best person to ask.

I knew from my previous experiences that once I was done with the surveillance mission I'd been assigned to this time, I'd be tossed back into jail - so I decided to do the entire thing I could - just blow the entire thing. The patrol car I was accompanying never made it to the rendezvous.

I found James putting up his feet after a day of doing nothing, and didnt waste any time. Grabbing the officer by the collar, I told him exactly what I thought of his stupid game, and demanded to know where Beck was. When he refused, I snapped and threatened his son - not that I would've hurt the kid - but he broke and told me.

The drive to the base didn't take long. The guards let me in, and Beck was soon standing in front of me. She kept her voice even, her face a blank mask; "Vintelleci, what are you doing here?"

I looked over her. Physically, she looked fine, except for a few bruises. "We're getting out of her, Beck. We need to leave. You coming with me? Or do I have to make you?"
She regarded me for a second and then said,"But that'll happen even if I give the test tomorrow - they'll let the gang back together."
I scoffed. "Do you really believe that Beck? D'you think that's possible?"
She continued to stare at me, unmoved."Fine. Be like that. D'you want to know about the rest? About Sean and Oscar? And Tyler and Con? "
For the first time, her face registered changed. "I'll tell you. But not here. Not now. The choice is yours."

I'd known I would come to this. I slipped the note I'd scribbled in my haste earlier.
"Meet me ince you're done - after lights out."

By the time she'd looked up, I was gone.
"Married to music - 'nuff said."
"Freedom is everything to me."

I think using both NPCs are fine, I asked July if she is coming back. I haven't gotten a response yet.

Becky

I mentally hit myself for letting myself react at the names of the other gang members. I hoped, though, she hadn't been observant enough to notice when the shift occured.

I hadn't thought about Sean in a while, without thinking about the rest of the gang. As I did, I felt the same familiar emotions wash through me. Guilt, mostly. But traces of hope and something else were there too.

Part of me wished I had returned his message. Then part of me knew that my chance with him had parted long ago. A year had gone by, he could be married for all I knew. Part of me wanted after his happiness, part of me hoped he wasn't married.

Stop thinking like that.

I re-centered myself, pocketing the paper and then resuming my military posture, walking back towards the indoor range. I would have to see Vintelleci later. She wouldn't have come if it wasn't urgent.

Bt when I saw her, I wasn't loosing control again. I wouldn't let a simple name undermine a year of training.

"This Rebecca better be in this place, man, getting though military security is never that easy." I say to myself,

We had been searching though files looking for this girl and were just found out shes been transferred here. We had broken a lot of the laws just to get to this girl, a lot of the laws we could be executed for if we were ever caught. This had to be worth it, in the few years of bounty hunting had given me a lot of time alone. A lot of time of how I came to be who I was now, how far I'll go to reunite the Cort gang once more, I wasn't a former member matter of fact up until a month ago I had been bounty hunting making my living by bringing in criminals to the police. Normally getting reward money only in half reason why I went after high ranking criminals that were wanted dead or alive. Which in most cases I killed them to shut them up and to take my frustration's of my past out on them, the police didn't care as long as they never got on my back for anything, and the reward money was more than enough to keep me going though the last few years. After hearing about the Cort Gang's break up, I went after Wildcard first seeing as she was the easy one at the time. Reuniting the Cort Gang was my way of getting myself a crew who would back me up when I got into tough spots. Wildcard finally comes out and gets into the car, I had bought a Ford Mustang GT with the left over money from the money I had a few weeks ago.

"You get this Rebecca girl that you were looking for?" I asked.

"Nah she gots some test tomorrow that may let us get the gang back together." She said.

"Well then, how about in our spare time we go find Conrad since he's wanted on the police and bounty hunter's list? I prefer not to waste much more time here." I said.

I started the car up and soon sped off down the road though streets swerving though traffic, we soon make it to the city that Conrad was supposedly in we cruised around looking for where he maybe hiding out at. Man we were going to need some intel on him if we were going to find out where he's hiding out at.

Warning: a few minor swears. Hope this is okay.

Conrad

It's funny how time changes a person, whether that change be something you choose or something you have no control over. You can be one person one day, and completely unrecognizable the next. After everything I've seen, everything I've done, it's no surprise I'm not the same insecure, love-struck kid I was while with the Cort gang.

Drawing another break from my cigarette, I look out over the rickety balcony of the apartment I'm in this week. The city is quiet tonight, the traffic as normal as it can be for a slow day as this, and leaves me in my thoughts. Not that the drug I keep inhaling allows me to think much at all. Flicking my cigarette out, I head back inside and pop the top off the last bottle of beer in the fridge. I'd have to go out again soon, head on.

I walk to the doorway of the balcony and lean against it, drinking down my poison. A car stops below the apartments and two faces look up at mine.

Damn.

I set the bottle down and rush to slip my jacket over my shoulders and a belt through the loops of my jeans. Swearing a whole line of curses, I sloppily pack my bag and rush out the door, gun resting in my left hand. I bolt down the stairs, the elevator a place I wouldn't want to be caught in, and out the backdoor of the complex. It's only when I hit cold pavement with my bare feet that I realize I'd forgotten my shoes. Rolling my eyes at me, I drop my bag and fish out my spares, jamming them on.

Swearing again, I head off, the shadows around me reminding me of a pursuit. The drugs in my system cause my muscles to burn as I run, the voices calling me to stop moving to the back of my mind. My ankle goes numb from the injury I can't seem to forget and my ribs ignite in figurative flames from my most recent run in with an ex-gang.

A gunshot pierces the air and a bullet grazes past my left leg, causing me to cry out and fall forward. I scrape my hands on the pavement and hit my forehead on the asphalt.

Dammit. Great, just great. Another net I've fallen into...
