Lydia
“Fine, but I get to be close to Lydia.” He says.
I smile and grab his hand and walk to the van. We drive to the river and get out. We all put on life vests. I put it on and hook it together. Nile helps me make it tighter. I can tell he is concerned. He puts his arms around me as we wait for the boat.
Mr. McFarland drags the boat into the water. I can feel my heart beat all over my body. I think Nile can hear it to, because he looks at me and says, “You don’t have to do this.” He says.
“ I know, but I am going to be fine. I am with you.” I say. I lean in am kiss him. He smirks a little and takes my hand. We walk over to the boat. Mr. McFarland hands us our paddles. Nile helps me in and sits next to me. Mr. McFarland pushes us into the water. The water plops against my skin and I cling to Nile. He kisses my fore head and we drift away from the shore line.
