I get throught the whole after the mind reader and appear in a totally dark room. Someone says there are weapons here... So we didn't disobey, they really wanted us to get here, I think.

Someone hits me, and I get mad... They guy or girl -not sure- apologizes and gets away quickly. I sigh in deception. It seems the only one with guts here is that mind reader, Ava.

My hand touches a piece of steel... it seems like a pistol. I pick it up and put it under my belt. While trying to discover what the other weapons are, my fingers find something strange: with the texture of jelly, when I touch it I feel something juicy running through my arm, and then covering my chest. When I put my thumb on my chest, something hard as rock is all over it. The testers sure got some weird weapons, although this seems like an armor.

I watch the others entering the small room, and I keep walking slowly, ignoring that I stepped on someone. Finally I find a wall; a wooden wall... No, it's a door. I push it, but nothing happens, I can't find where to open it...

"Hey, you bastards." I say. "There's some kind of door over here."

"Insult us more, why don't you?" I said sarcastically, glaring at the healer. I got to my feet and surveyed the table, ignoring the little red dots swimming in front of my eyes. "We'd better stock up on this stuff," I commented, inspecting some of the weapons. "Who knows what those doctors will throw at us next? People without offensive-type powers, I would suggest guns." Ava had already gotten one, and some of the spies came over and grabbed them as well.

I chose a few large daggers and a set of smaller knives, good for throwing. Those would make good boomerangs when coupled with my magnetic powers. I stuffed everything in my belt and walked over to the door Dharius had found.

"Is that wood?" Ava asked.

"Yeah," Dharius answered. He tapped the wood systematically. "There's no handle, but it sounds hollow."

"Okay, let's see what's on the other side," I said. I took a deep breath, swallowing the clammy feeling for a moment. Then I took a few steps backward, got a running start, jumped up, and put a boot through the door. The middle popped out, splinters flying into the air, but the edges stayed attached to the wall, as if they were glued there. The other side was dark--completely dark. I pulled out a dagger, adrenaline giving me energy, and peered through the jagged hole. "Can anyone else see what's back there?" I asked.

OK, I'll keep that in mind. And I don't want to speak for anyone else, but the insults don't bug me. Vega just likes verbal sparring. :)

As I get in the hole -with some effort, I might add - I can't help but feel a surge of pride. I helped us. I did something useful! I guess they really are just training us after all, and hopefully the violent stuff is over.

My optemism is dashed when the others start talking about weapons.

"I would suggest guns for people without offensive-type powers," I can hear Vega say. There are sounds of metal clunking together and soft murmurs as people feel them over.

Slow as molasses, I creep over to the table. I can't really see anything. Well, this is stupid. My hand brushes against something cold and it clatters to the floor. I bend down to pick it up as I don't want anyone to step on it. I can feel the handle, hiding under the table, just out of my reach.

Dang it, I mutter. Now I just want to get the darned thing to show it who's boss. Shifting into Mr. Fox, I use my shrimpy body to fit beneath the table. Everything is brighter now, just bright enough to see the small knife and a small blob in the corner. I am instantly interested. Dragging it towards me with my paw, I examine it. A small but important-looking pair of goggles is what they appear to be. I grab them in my mouth and crawl back out, almost being stepped on by the skinny boy who's powers remain a mystery to me. He walks on by; I hate being small. You don't have to stay that way, of course. I switch to a human, instantly growing ten times Mr. Foxy's size.

The kid with the attitude shouts a word that I personally would not say in front of a lady. The best part is, he's calling us... The word. I resist the urge to walk up and sock him in the face, mostly because I'm not sure where he is exactly.

Feeling around, I come across a shotgun. A beautiful, glorious shotgun. The kind of shotgun that men use to scare their daughter's date. I run my hands over the smooth wood. This baby was just the type of gun I'm comfortable with. It even has a strap. I don't want to be shooting anyone, but if I have to, a lovely shotgun would be my first choice. Slinging "Nellie" over my shoulder (I already gave her a name!) I grab a random knife, stick the goggles in my pocket, and go to where Vega and attitude-dude are staring into what I can only describe as a black pit.

It doesn't get any less inky when I shift into a fox and stare at it, nor when I return to human form and try the goggles. I feel a small flash of panic. I don't want to go in there!

"Should I shift into my fox again to see if I can smell anything?" I ask, swallowing hard.

Alli

I phase through the gap in the wall, not having to bothber about squeezing myself to fit the small hole. I smile, happy to know that my powers are still useful. When I arrive at the other side, I am standing in a pitch black room. I open up my other sense and see that the room is lined with tables. Atop of these tables sits many rows of weapons - staves, guns, bows, knives, and swords. I laugh at the implications that this represents. Another test, eh.

I saunter over to the table and pick up a short dagger in a black sheath. I tie the sheath to my right thigh and continue scanning the table. I then pick up a slick, black bo staff and give it a twirl between my hands, testing the weight and balance - perfect. I twist the staff up under my arm into a defensive position, recalling my years of martial arts training. I give the staff a quick flick and send it speeding towards the floor, then with lightning reflexes, I flick it out to the side and sweep it along the floor. I then return the staff into a defensive position, with my left hand out in guard.

I move out of my stance and rest the staff like I would a walking stick. I pick up a couple of other daggers on a belt, strap on the belt, then turn to face the others. A rude guy is yelling at the others, edging for a fight, and I can see the shadow of a girl over by a wall. I hear the crunching of wood coming from the direction of the girl. My other senses tell me she kicked through what appears to be a door leading to nothing but more darkness. I head towards it and light a fire above my outstretched left hand, finally illuminating the weapons room.

Arcadia

After some debate, I grab a small pistol and a set of bow and arrows. My archery skills were average at best, but I could handle a gun a little better. The pistol is small enough to hide inside the quiver and I sling the lightweight katana over my shoulder easily enough.

Suddenly, there is light. Blinking hard, my eyes adjust as the entire room is revealed. Not much in here but a few locked cabinets and the weapons mounted on the wall and resting on the table.

"Bring the light over here," Ava says. Alli leans forward so the light is shining into the next room.

"I don't see anything," I say, stepping forward.

Suddenly, two pairs of bright green eyes stare back at us, glowing eerily in the light. With an audible snarl, one of the animals lunges forward into the room, straight at me. I quickly unsheath my katana and swing, making contact just below the creature's ribs. I hear it growl in pain as it sinks its claws into my shoulder, scratching my arm severely before landing and facing us.

I gasp and fall backwards, but someone strong catches me and sets me on the ground.

The thing roared, all claws and fangs and sinewy muscle. What the heck was it? It snarled, turning towards me, and I whirled my quarterstaff forward, whacking it in the head. It didn't even flinch.

I grabbed the orb of glass from my pocket, throwing it forward. As it went, I separated it into two pieces and sharpened them, like spear points. They flew into the beast's eyes; it shrieked, flailing back and blinded. I dove to the side, just avoiding its claws.

"Now someone kill it!" I shouted. But there was another snarl, and I lifted my staff to block a new set of claws as the other beast barreled forward. It did give me a good kick, though, and I was tossed a few feet, gasping as the wind was knocked out of me.

“What the heck is that thing?” I say. It is a huge beast.

“Someone kill it.” Ree says.

I nod and a few of us with guns start shooting at it. Nothing happens. “Really?” I say. Just my luck, bullets will not kill it. The spies turn into animals and try to attack it, but it just swipes his paws at them, making them stay farther. I put my hands on my hips and sigh. “Well how are we going to kill this ugly thing?” I ask.

“Ava, does your mind control work on animals.” Vega asks.

I shrug my shoulders. “ I have never tried, but there is a first time for everything.” I say. “Just let me get close enough to it.” I walk toward it. It is licking the bullets out of its arm. I waver my arms to get it to get it to look at me. “You animal.” I cannot see what kind it is. It looks at me and growls. I roll my eyes. “You are going to stop growling and stop trying to hurt us.” I narrow my eyes at it. It charges at me and I dart to the left. I fall into some guys arms. I can not see to. “I do not think that worked. List of things to do, learn how to control animals.” The guy lefts me off the floor. “Thanks.” I say. “Any other ideas.”

Dharius

"Insult us more, why don't you?" I can feel the sarcasm in her voice. My fist closes in fury but I try to calm down. Come on Dharius, you won't win nothing by fighting them. I think. The girl walks to me, takes a breathe, and then takes down the door. More darkness behind it. What do the testers want us to do?

Suddenly, a light covers up a great part of the room and now I can see pretty much everything: a part of the table has a lot of knives and daggers, and I take a pair of them; there are guns on the table over the left side of the room; and beside the knives there are swords, maces, axes, and lots of medieval weapons. I put the knives on my belt and then take a golden mace..., very heavy, but it seems good to crack some skulls.

Then I hear a roar. Someone shouts and I see someone falling to the ground -I think they got out of the room while I watched the weapons-. And, in the other room (which is a very big one) there's a great monster.

"What the hell is that?" I croak while Ava falls to the ground, after saying some words to the ginormous beast. I can see it has horns and big claws, and a tail longer than the creature itself, covered with thorns. I suppose what Ava tried to do: controlling the animal's mind. Seems this can't be solved with just a few words.

I run to the beast and slam his skull with the mace, using all my strength. The mace breaks in half. The monster attacks me with its horns, hitting my chest, but then I can see what that hard thing on my chest does: the animal's horns stick to the breastplate, which has a jellyish feeling again. The horrible thing growls and snoarls, trying to get released. I take advantage of the situation and take a knife out of my belt; I try to sink it on the beast's neck, but it is hard as steel.

A monster stuck in my chest; I've got serious problems.

"Hey, some help here!" I yell to the others.

I run over to Dharius and Ree and I pull him off the breast. “You are so lucky you have healing powers.” I say. They blood is all over my hands. I wipe it on his shirt.

“What are you doing?” He demands.

“Your blood, your shirt.” I say. What I suppose come out of his mouth. I watch as the wound heals. It is like magic.

I had a sword in my grasp. I smiled at my victory for getting it. The rude guy attacked the beast. I frowned. How stupid to go off by himself. Even though he had healing powers, not all wounds were healable.

I stood back, away from all the people. I wasn't social. I watched them closely.

So much for sniffing out danger. Before anyone can even move towards the door, this big snarling monster comes barrelling out. I can't really describe it except for its claws, teeth, and horns, all of which are huge. It looks around for a moment and then charges Miss Arcadia. No! I rush forward, but Arcadia is pulling out a katana and swiping the monster's side. Comepletely unfazed, the beast sinks its claws into Arcadia's shoulder, scoring them down her claw before falling back. Arcadia screams and collapses. Keeping a careful eye on the monster, I dart in and stand her back up.

"Thanks," she gasps, face white. I don't say anything because I suddenly feel awkward. I back away into a corner, watching as my teammates try their powers to no avail. The hopelessness starts settling deep in my chest again. This is just another part of training, I have to remind myself. They're not gonna let us die. They spent a lot of money on us. There has to be a way to defeat these things.

Suddenly I remember the goggles. Grabbing them from my pocket, and untangle them and strap them on. The oddest thing happens. Everything becomes light blue, and suddenly I can see people's brains, hearts, and lungs. I can see the faint outline of Ava, jumping out of a creature's way, her brain a bright, glowing pink. Weird. This must be one of those vital-points goggles! I've always wanted one for hunting. I focus on one of the beasts; there's nothing. No brain, no lungs, no nothing. Feeling panicky, I rub the back of my neck. Then I see it. The monster's left thigh has a small pink circle, like a target. That must be the place to kill it! Looking at the other beast, I find the "Vital Organ" as a line through its long, spiked tail.

Elated, I grab the shoulder of the nearest person - this turns out to be attitude-guy. He whips around and I have to jump back to avoid the blade he is holding.

"Go for that one's left thigh, and that ones tail!" I have to shout over all the roaring and yelling and such. Attitude-guy stares at me like I'm crazy. I just nod: no time to explain.

I catch up to Vega next. "Go for that one's thigh and that one's tail!" I holler, pointing at the respective monsters. I continue on, informing as many teammates as I can reach. Then it dawns on me that I have Nellie bumping against my back. I'd forgotten all about my shotgun! I head to the edge of the action - I've got great aim, but only when I'm perfectly still - hunker down, and strap on my goggles. I just need to wait for the right time to shoot.
When you asked me what Was wrong I wanted for dinner, I said "Nothing". But as I turned away I whispered, "Everything."

I scrambled to my feet again just in time to catch Ava as she dove to the ground, the beast charging at her. Then I guess mind control is out. She said the same, and I set her down.

"Thanks," she said, and then she stood.

"Hey, some help here!" The beast was over somewhere else, sticking a horn into the tough guy's chest. Lovely. Ava and I pulled it loose, fighting it off, and it ran off to attack someone else. Ava wiped blood away on the guy's shirt, but I was more focused on another threat - the monster I'd blinded. It sniffed at me, its lips curling into a snarl. My heart sank into my stomach as I realized that it knew I was the one who had blinded it.

"Hi," I said as it glared at me through ruined eye sockets. "You really don't want to eat me. Really, you don't..." It charged and I screamed, raising my staff to block its slavering fangs. It snapped at me, shoving me back.

There was the sound of something whistling through the air, and the thing's tail slammed into the ground next to me. The second time it didn't miss, and thorns tore into my side. I screamed.

"Help!" I shouted, still trying to hold the thing's snapping jaws back with my staff. Everyone else was fighting the more able one, except for one guy who stood at a corner, watching. "Help me!"

I ran to the guy calling for help. I unsheathed my sword and leaped into the air. I had trained as a swordsman before becoming a spy. Time to show my skills. I sliced at the tail, coming across rock hard skin. The tail slammed into me and I flew, slamming into the wall.

Standing up, I brushed myself off. Taking a deep breath, I focused my energy in my blade. I learned Shingetsu school style. An invisible purple aura radiated around me. "Shingetsu school style, 2nd form," I whispered. I sliced my sword, and the tail fell off the beast. I fell to my knees breathlessly. This was strange.

I barely remembered about being part wolf. They must of messed with me, cause this never happened before. I kneeled there, breathing hard and sweating.
