Name: Tameka Raven (Her friends call her Tam.)

Age:
13 years old (nearly 14)

Gender: Female

Appearance: Tameka has Short uneven wavy black hair, grey- almost silvery- eyes, a petite (an kind of short) figure, pale skin (But not white pale-more of a creamy colour.) and usually wears clothing a few sizes to big as she prefers comfort over looks (also because she doesn’t have the money to buy anything else.)

Personality: Tameka, what she lacks in height, makes up for in personality. She is fiercely loyal to her friends and will defend the people she cares about no matter what. She has quite a fiery personality when crossed and once she makes up her mind about someone she will stick with it. Her friends see the other side of her- the loyal, friendly energetic side, but since she finds it hard to trust people she doesn’t have so many friends. Is very determined and stubborn- once she makes a decision she will stick with it until the end.

History: Tam doesn’t remember her parents as they died in a plane crash when she was just three (though sometimes she does have flashbacks of them-which usually make no sense to her anyway.) Grew up in an orphanage, most people weren’t exactly ‘kind’ to her so she grew up learning to defend herself, which kind of led to her getting in trouble a lot. When she was 10 some mysterious lady wandered into the orphanage and claimed to be a family member. (This was Tam’s grandmother- who at this stage had finally found her granddaughter after years of searching through various orphanages.) Tam went to live with her in her fine house and for a while (almost four years) everything was good and Tam even made some friends. Then her grandmother (who by this stage was quite old) fell down the steps (and due to her old age couldn’t recover.) When she died Tam was devastated (not just by the lack of a family she had grown to love but also because this meant she was going back to the orphanage.) So in desperation she signed up to the Ameruld League.

Talent: Tam has a natural talent with animals (she had a habit of adopting every wounded animal she found on the streets and helping it recover when living with her grandmother.) and can calm even the wildest animal down. She is also very smart (for her age) and quick on her feet.

Other: Not quite up for love- she has enough trouble making friends, - carries a notebook with her at all times.

I filled in the survey too... If that's okay?

SURVEY
What are your thoughts on the Ameruld League Competition from what you have
heard so far?

I haven’t really heard much about the Ameruld League so far but I think it challenge (which is good since I kind of like challenges.)

What do you think that the Competition will be like?
I think the competition will be tough because there will be a lot of other people who want to win in the same circumstances. I will just have to try my best and hope I pull through.

How
are your teamwork skills? Would you be willing to work in a group?

I would be willing to work in a group if it was necessary but I’m not really much of a people person and honestly I don’t know about my ‘teamwork skills.’ Most of the time I work by myself anyway so I guess we will just have to wait and see how things turn out...

What do
you think your greatest skill (that could help you in the competition) is?

My greatest skill in the competition might just as well be speed. I don’t really know what else to say for this one, people have said I was fast before but I don’t really know if this will help.

What are your fears when it comes to the competition? My main fear isn’t really in the competition but the fact that we have to take a plane or something to get there. I don’t like planes or heights much...

What 10 items will you pack?
-Whatever clothes I manage to find. (Maybe two extra outfits including my coat in case of snow.)
-A small pocketknife (that I found in a draw a few minutes ago.)
- A water bottle with a shoulder strap. (This will be filled with water.)
-My notebook and several pens (I never leave it behind.) -Some kind of device that my grandmother assured me will purify water (I’m not sure about it but I trusted her.) -A container with some bread, dried fruit and vegetables. (For the extra food factor.)
- A basic First aid kit (that includes bandages.)
- A torch
-A random piece of flint- (my friend taught me how to light a fire using it- It seems to last longer than a box of matches- in my case anyway.)
- Some duct tape- I don’t really know what for- maybe in case something breaks.

Do you think that you can win the Ameruld League competition? Why? Honestly? I haven’t even met the other contestants yet, or seen any of the challenges.
I don’t know if I can win or not but I will try my best in everything we do though and If that helps me win then so be it.

Spoiler
Anyway... I hope this is all OK.

I might swap to just the contestant...

Here's my application form and survey...

Name: James Levant

Age: 17 years old

Gender: Male

Appearance: James is around 6’ tall (or not far off it) with evenly tanned skin, short (slightly wavy) copper brown hair, icy light blue eyes and an easy smile.

Personality: James is friendly, deadly funny and likes meeting new people. He tends to thinks the best of people and can always find something positive in every situation. When things are serious he will focus 100%, is extremely stubborn san never gives up if it is important. When people ask about or mention his family he tends to change the subject or even just go silent. Is an expert at making people feel better but is mostly clueless when it comes to girls.

History: James is an only child. His father died two years ago but James always tried to see the best in things even when his mother was diagnosed with a terminal illness and couldn’t pay the medical bills. The doctors told them that there was a cure but they wouldn’t be able to afford it. Ever since that day James has been looking for ways to earn money. He signs up to the Ameruld League as soon as he hears about it.

Talent: Is good at coming up with a solution when it seems like there is none. (can make do with little resources) and doesn’t feel the cold like most people- he is also string and smart.

Other: Up for love-if he finds the right person.

I can’t really say what the competition will be like without first knowing what the challenges and who my opponents are. It will most likely be tough though.

• How are your teamwork skills? Would you be willing to work in a group?
Of course I’d be willing to work in a group; I don’t really mind being around other people. As for my teamwork skills… I’d say they are around average.

Marina Ashford

I stand beside the ‘Ameruld League’ cameraman- Tanner Moreno- and the other investigating scientist- Aster Levian- as we watch the ‘Kirona 2000’ (the ship carrying the contestants) pull into the docking centre.
Tanner is grumbling under his breath about how he would much rather be somewhere else and I force myself not to roll my eyes, after having heard this for the millionth time.
Then the doors of the ‘ship’ open and one by one out walk the eight contestants.
A few look nervous but the majority of the contestants just look curious to their surroundings.
One by one they line up in front of us.
The competition has begun.
I step forward- “Welcome to the ‘Ameruld League,’ I say to them, “my name is Marina Ashford- during your stay here in Ameruld I will be your host, a judge and your instructor.’
I take a step back and let Aster introduce himself to the contestants.
Finally Tanner steps forward and introduces himself, mostly while glaring at the contestants.
I shake my head and walk back to the centre.
“I hope you all had a restful journey and ready to begin the competitions.”
Then I let Aster step into the centre and explain the first competition.
I smile and when he is finished I hand each of the contestants a sheet basically explaining the ‘Time Game’ with any information Aster might have missed, and their teams listed on the other side.\
“Good Luck Contestants,” I say to them and leave Aster to explain any other questions and Tanner to mumble how much he doesn’t want to be here.

Tanner Moreno-

They stood waiting for the ship that was carrying the brats. "Any other place would be better than here". he grumbled.

“Welcome to the ‘Ameruld League," Marina announces," My name is Marina Ashford- during your stay here in Ameruld I will be your host, a judge and your instructor"

Tanner stepped forward," Yeah, so I'm Tanner Moreno. I'm also one of the judges, but I'm also the cameraman. Good luck and I really mean it." and began grumbling about the 'brats' again.

Aster Levian

"Well," I said, shooting an annoyed glance at Tanner. "I'm Aster Levian; I'm the lead scientist for the Ameruld League, and I'll be designing most of these tests. Our first challenge is the Time Game. Basically, it's a race to the top of--" I looked around, trying to find where the finish was supposed to be.

I sighed irritably and touched my transmitter. "The beacon is supposed to be on," I growled. A small white light appeared in the distance.

"There," I continued, pointing. "Right at the top of that mountain there. You and your partner will start off in that direction, and we'll see who gets there first. Teams will be awarded points based on their finishing time. Any questions?"

"Um, yeah," one of the boys said, the one with the messy blond hair. "Are there any...you know...critters out there?"

"Perhaps," I said, giving him a sinister smile. "We haven't taken an extensive biological survey in this area, so we don't really know. I guess we'll find out."

"Alright," Marina said, taking over. "Here are your partners: Liz Shann and Amos Ark, Tam Raven and Max Barkat, Arrah Ark and James Levant, and Indie Kamironn and Riley Gardner. Good luck; start on my count. Three...two...one."

Max Barkat

I step out of the ship, anxiously retying my lucky red bandana around my neck before looking around. It looks surprisingly normal out here. The mountain looming in the background was the only thing I expected to be up here. I turn my attention to the other contestants and my stomach drops to my boots. Two of the girls were tiny! They couldn't be more than twelve years old. How did either of them get into this competition?

There are three adults facing us, and the contestants line up in front of them. I follow suit, taking up place at the edge of the row. The adults introduce them. The only woman is Marina, the rather intimidating man introduces himself as Aster, and the pudgy guy wearing sunglasses and a scowl calls himself Tanner. I can't help but smile as I notice that Tanner is muttering something. I can't hear what he is saying, but it probably isn't "Welcome wonderful young friends!".

Aster starts explaining the first test. I stare past him as a small light glows on the distant mountain. A short boy interrupts him to ask about wild animals, and I feel kind of gratefull to him. I had been wondering that myself. Most wild animals I could handle; I just hoped there weren't snakes. I hate snakes.

But Aster only replies, "We haven't taken an extensive biological survey in this area, so we don't really know. I guess we'll find out." He is smiling in a positively creepy way as he says this. That probably means "Yes". I make a mental note to keep a close watch for snakes.

I tune back in as Marina devides us up into teams, a boy and a girl per team.

"Tam Raven and Max Barkat!" The name of my teammate along with my own finally ring out. Marina gives out the names of one last team and then instantly tells us to get going. I frown, frustrated. How the heck am I supposed to know who Tam Raven is?
When you asked me what Was wrong I wanted for dinner, I said "Nothing". But as I turned away I whispered, "Everything."

Arrah Ark

I nodded as the information was given;
"Here are your partners: Liz Shann and Amos Ark, Tam Raven and Max Barkat, Arrah Ark and James Levant, and Indie Kamironn and Riley Gardner. Good luck; start on my count. Three...two...one."
We all stood there for a second, who was who?
"Alrigh Amos, good luck," I murmered smiling slightly, "I'm off to go find a James Levant and win this," I winked and started to move off to find him when Amos caught my wrist.
"Wait, you got that knife of yours right?" I nodded, "Good, keep it close. You don't know how far some people are willing to go..."
"Come on Amos, perk up and be happy. At least a little. For me?" He nodded back at me and tried to smile, he just looked sad really. I hugged him and stepped away moving towards the others who had arrived with us.
"Sooooo... I'm Arrah?" I said a little loudly, "Is there a James Levant anywhere?"
"Yup, right here!" I saw a hand stick up which I walked towards. He was quite cute really, coppery hair and tall. With real pale blue eyes, not unlike my own.
"Well, I'm Arrah," I said putting my hand out to him which he took, shaking it firmly,
"And I'm James," I pulled my rucksack up over my shoulders, fastening the strap around my mid-section.
"Shall we get this party started?"

Amos Ark
I watched Arrah walk towards a fairly 'nice' looking bloke, he seemed alright. He didn't appear as if he would randomly turn evil or anything. I sighed, Arrah is right... I should just try and be a bit happy. Most of the other contenstants had already paired up leaving an average height girl with long blonde hair stood there looking a bit lost. I presumed that to be Liz Shann. I walked over trying to smile convincingly and not look like a maniac.
"Uh... Hi? I'm Amos, are you Liz Shann?" She nodded, I nodded slowly back not knowing what to say. "Okay... So... Shall we get going?" I honestly didn't know what to say and I was trying to be nice and not sound ridiciulous.

(Hope this is alright guys, if I portraid your character wrong then just say and I'll change it. :) )

Tameka Raven

I walk off the ship trying to take in everything.
There is a mountain in the distance and three adults standing, watching us.
Everyone starts to walk over to them and I figure I should probably follow.
As the three adults introduce themselves and explain the first game I try to remember every detail.
Then Marina announces my partner and I look around, wondering who Max Barkat is.
I spot a boy with a red bandanna tied around his neck looking just as confused as I am about the groups. That’s probably him. Cautiously I walk over- and am almost bowled over by another contestant.
“Whoa,” I stutter under my breath and push myself back to my feet.
I continue to walk over to the boy who I think is probably my partner for this competition.
“Hi,” I say, “Are you Max Barkat?”
He nods, “Oh, good, I was wondering how long I would have to look around for,” I say as he stares at me, “My names Tam… Tameka Raven.”
I pause and look around at the other groups, “We should probably get going.”

James Levent

The second I step off the ship a gust of cold air sweeps past me and for once I feel grateful for this fur coat my mother insisted I bring.

Marina Introduces herself as the host, then the cameraman- Tanner- steps forward he doesn’t seem very happy.
In fact if looks could kill we’d probably all be dead.
Then a man named Aster steps forward and starts explaining the first competition.
I white light appears at the top of the mountain I saw earlier and he poits out that the competition will be a race to there.
Hmm, I wonder how this will go.
The ‘Time Game.”
Marina steps back and puts us in teams.
Arra Ark and James Levent- she calls out second.
Two more teams are called out.
"Good Luck Contestants," she calls out to us and walks away.
Who’s Arra Ark?
“Sooooo... I'm Arra" a girl says, "Is there a James Levant anywhere?"
I stick my hand up, “Right Here, “I say and try to catch a glimpse of my partner.
I look around and spot a girl about my age walking toward me.
That is most probably Arra Ark.
A boy who looks kind of like her is staring at me.
Maybe they are family.
I bet that they are.
I look back towards Arra.
She’s has really pale skin that reminds me of snow and shoulder length black hair.
I smile.
“Well, I’m Arra,” she says and sticks her hand out; I shake it, “James.”
She fiddles with the strap of her bag for a minute and then looks back up at me.
"Shall we get this party started?"
I grin, and look off towards the mountain.
Other groups are looking the same way and a few have even started walking towards it.
“Let’s go,” I say.

Indigo Kamironn

A ship jolts as it pulls up at the location and I smile, intensely glad to be getting off it.
I walk through the now open door and look around.
We appear to be in an open field.
About 10 metres away three adults stand watching us.
The woman steps forward as we approach.
I “Welcome to the ‘Ameruld League,’ I say to them, “my name is Marina Ashford- during your stay here in Ameruld I will be your host, a judge and your instructor,” she says.
Then the angry looking man steps forward- Tanner Moreno- the Ameruld League’s cameraman.
He doesn’t seem like the happiest person.
Finally the third adult steps forward.
"I'm Aster Levian; I'm the lead scientist for the Ameruld League, and I'll be designing most of these tests. Our first challenge is the Time Game. Basically, it's a race to the top of--"
He pauses and hits some sort of switch.
A small white light appears at the top of a nearby mountain.
“There.”
Before I know it Marina is reading out the names of groups.
Mine is the last to be called- Indie Kamironn with Riley Gardener.
I look around curiously for the boy named Riley and finally spot him.
He is the only other person not talking to someone.
I walk over.
“Hi, my name’s Indie- Indigo Kamironn,” I pause, hoping that I’m not talking to the wrong person, “your Riley right?”
