Profile: Name: Shaka Themba Age: (Between 9-12) 11 Gender: Male Appearance: Shaka is a stringy boy with dark skin and eyes like pools of midnight. He has a flat, wide nose and thick lips. His hair is black and frizzed, cut short. He has a small round gang tattoo on his left palm, which he tries to hide in public by wearing gloves with the fingers cut off. History: Shaka was born in Soweto in South Africa. His parents died of aids when he was four. He was picked up by an orphanage and fell in with the older boys, who taught him everything about staying alive in the township. He was the youngest member of their gang at six years of age. He is more street-smart than book-smart, knows about the workings of the underworld and is one of a large group of kids taken from Soweto to join CHERUB because of their practical skills. Abilities: Shaka is strong, fit and tough, fluent in Sotho and English, but cannot read or write well. He knows exactly what he's doing on the street and can handle himself very well. Shaka has seen everything, so doesn't get scared easily. He can fight andd run, survive on very little and is good at eavesdropping. Strengths and Weaknesses: He has attitude problems and is prone to stealing sometimes, doesn't trust fellow CHERUB agents not from Soweto. He is strong and street-smart. Up for love?: He's a bit young, maybe later. Extra:

Here. Just so you know that I'm going to do it. I don't have time to finish it, but I'll post what I have now....
Name: Melanie Keltra Age: 9 Gender: Female Appearance: She is very pretty. She has nice brown hair, and brown eyes. She is a nice petite size. She usually leaves her hair in a braid, but when she leaves it down, it's beautiful. Spoiler
History: Melanie (aka Mel) wasn't born the natural way. She was made in a tube, so that she would be almost the same as her sister, Keely. When she was born, the parents never gave her love, never gave her happiness, her life revolved around Keely. Keely was very sick, and was in the hospital 80% of her life. When Melanie was 4, she gave a special blood transfusion to Keely, which made Mel sick. Mel almost died, and her parents didn't care. It was all "Melanie do this, Melanie do that." Melanie never got what she wanted, she never had love, but she did have a single friend. His name, was Austen James. They spent as much time as they could together. When other neighbor kids teased them, saying "Mel and Ausie sittin' in a tree. K-I-S-S-I-N-G!" they separated. They didn't see eachother, and avoided eachother. When Mel heard that Austen had fallen off a climbing wall, and broken his neck (when he was 6) she visited him. Austen died a week later. That broke Mel's heart, and she was never happy and cheery again. Then, she went to school one day, but when she got called out of her classroom, she knew something was really wrong. "Melanie Keltra, your parents have gotten into an accident while driving to the hospital with Keely. They are all dead." said a woman dressed in black. After school, she packed up, and went to a children's home, where she's lived ever since. Abilities:In school, she was timid, and shy. This makes her very good a spying, and eaves dropping. But, when somebody makes fun of her, she can be ferocious. She has sent a few kids to the nurse's office because of her violence. Strengths and Weaknesses: She is, as I said, very good at sneaking around, but that sometimes gets her in trouble. Her violence has been a big problem, but she can't help herself. She can get over violent, but mostly stays in the shadows. She also has really good eyesight. Up for love?: If she were older, of course. When she's old enough, she'll DEFINITELY be up for love.... Extra: Austen gave her a pocket knife, and she keeps it with her always.

I kicked at a dog that was yapping around my ankles and scanned the disparate collection of what the government termed "informal houses". In reality, the precariously perched conglomerations of scrap timber, metal and binder twine in no way resembled the solid brick houses on the other side of the Fence.
A head appeared around the corner of a shack, followed by a crude hand-sign. I replied with a different sign and the girl revealed herself, teeth white in her dark face.
"I hear Sipho got into a scrap with the big guys," she grinned. "You can't talk, Charity," I retorted. "Thabo told me you got beat up pretty bad last night." Charity lifted her too-small shirt with Barbie printed on the front and showed me the purple blotches. "It ain't too bad, but this one's oozing a bit. Guy stepped on me there."
I grunted and walked away. Night was falling and most people were disappearing into their shelters. Within minutes I was alone and in the dark. This did not bother me. I knew all the codes and rarely had any trouble. My head snapped up when I heard the footsteps. Someone was following me. I darted through a tiny gap between shacks and sped away, trusting my dark skin to hide me in the shadows. But the steady tread stayed close behind me. I turned, fists raised. A large man stood behind me, rifle raised to his shoulder, aiming at me through the sights. I turned and ran.
There was a pop behind me and something stung me on my back. I ripped at the dart in my flesh and hurtled down a side-alley. The man followed close behind me. I could not lose him! Another pop and the second dart caught me on my shoulder. I dragged the bolt from my tissues, not caring for the deep gash it caused, and staggered on, blood running down my arm, but my strength was draining... draining... draining... The big man bent over me and I struggled to push him away. I saw his white skin and panic overtook me as I scrabbled uselessly to escape. Then I fell into deep waters and knew no more.

I pulled the black fabric of my hood up over my head and shoved my hands into my pockets. The wind was starting to pick up, bringing forth a chill that was further fuelled by the setting of the sun. That sun cast deep and looming shadows across the narrow street, calling forth stray cats and stray people like myself.
Curfew will be soon, but I don't really care. It's not like I haven't spent the night out here before, and I'm sure Jodie won't mind if I don't turn up and play a round of Call of Duty on the X-Box. It's strange that she still hasn't asked me how I got my hands on them in the first place. If she does have any suspicions, she may not want me to confirm them.
A voice shouted out from behind me, "Little Allie, have you come out to play?" I cringed at that voice and span on my heels, poised to run if things turned sour - but of course tings will turn sour, it's Big Bad Benjamin Stone.
I watched as mum and dad were put into the bags that the ambulance normaly put the dead into. I started to cry. "Kid? Are you alright?" a policeman asked me. "Th-they're m-my m-mum and d-dad." I sobbed. He looked at me sympatheticly and said "Come with me. I'll take you to St Bridgets Girls Home." With that, he lead me away. It turns out that all of my stuff was already packed and all the money was already stashed in the lining of my suitcase. I was off to start a new life.

"Well hello there Toilet Bowl," I taunted. He scowled at the nickname that very few dared to say to his face. "My play time's over, TB, now I'm just crawlin' back down to my crib, yeah." I added a playful but mocking laugh just for extra measure.
"Well then, do you feel like taking a little detour down to my place?" I did my best to try and not pull a face. TB was fifteen and it wasn't unknown that despite his currently friendly exterior, he had quite the vendetta against me.
"No thanks. Someone's expecting me," I lied. TB took a step forward.
"You sure you can't blow them off?"
"I'm sure." He took another step forward. He really is starting to get a little too close for my liking.
"Oh, I think you can," he growled. He then took a huge step forward and grabbed me by the wrist. My instincts kicked in - I slogged him in the face, right in that crevice beneath the eye and next to the nose. As I did that with my right hand, I had turned my left hand up and over his hand towards myself and as I jerked my hand out of his grip, I brought me left elbow up around to hit him on the other side of his face.
As he reeled back from my blows, I ran. Stuff being caught out after curfew. If it means getting away from TB, I'm all for it.
Melanie Keltra "Melanie Keltwa. Your pawents got in an accident. They were dwiving your swister to the hospital. They awe all dwead." said a woman, pronouncing all of her r's like w's. I turned sharply, and grabbed my backpack. "I'll go pack." I said quietly. She nodded, and took me outside of the school. I saw a very junky looking car awaiting there. I jumped in, and she got in beside me. We drove to my home, and I went in. I went to the cabinet where Mr and Mrs Keltra kept the money. I took the money out, and jammed it into my pocket. Then, I packed my few belongings. So, my life's a disaster now. No mom. No dad. No sister, well, half sister. No best- tears stung my eyes as I thought about Austen. I sobbed. Poor Ausie. I wish I were dead and him alive.... Tears blurred my vision, and I sat down, hugging my knees. I pulled my favorite picture of Austen out of my pocket. He was handsome. The handsomest guy in the world. And I loved him, with all my heart. I hugged the picture.
Melanie Keltra I tucked that picture of him into my pocket. It was more precious to me than gold. I finished packing up my bag, and went into Keely's room. I went to her piggy bank, and took her money too. If anything, I wouldn't want to be poor. I pulled out the picture of Ausie again, and stared at his perfect face. I let a tear slip down my cheek onto the photo. More tears went down my cheeks, and I put the picture away again. I took another picture of him out of my bag, and looked longingly at him. His arm was around my waist, and I was hugging him. We were happy.... So happy.
