Wait, so we start with 5th and 6th hours again? Are we EVER going to do the beggining half of the day? o.e
Calypso Delos
I could already feel it; this was actually going to be one of my days.
The punishment had gone to pass five days ago, and it hadn't been nearly has torrid as I'd thought it would be. Commando Kelly and I barely talked, just cleaned, and the dirty job was gone just as soon as Neferet had issued it.
I was out of the Nightmare slump- my make-up was perfectly done in sweet undertones, I was in my favorite pair of skinny jeans that I had warned Zoey off of (a fact she understood, making me feel that she wasn't, perhaps, as terrible as I'd thought her to be. For that moment, mind you) I was in a gray-and-white cotton quarter sleeve that my 'to-rich-for-you' Daddy bought me for my last birthday. I was feeling GOOO-OOD, like things were actually going to go my way, for the first time in a week.
And they did.
I noticed Neferet first. She commanded it, with that pretty little 'look at me' aura she kept around. Egotistic twit. However, it was impressing how quickly he took my attention away from the High Priestess.
He was gorgeous- this in itself was not an impressive feet. It was hard to come by an ugly Fledgling- even Pharaoh, with his ridicolous hair, had this attractive angle to his features. No, it was the way he was gorgeous- with an arrogant high-headed nature and Greek God-like looks. A Greek God... for a Greek Goddess.
I could see the nature of Neferet's idea before she even said a word- and I knew, just as quickly, that I was going to shut up and accept it. A certain intelligence glittered behind this new boy's eyes- a great contrast to most of my bubble-headed companions. I would not let Zoey add him to her growing list of minions- and Neferet clearly knew that.
"And this is the leader of our Dark Daughters, Calypso Delos." Neferet said in her powerful voice. I got up from my spot at the table, trying to look as wonderful as Neferet was going to make me out to be. "She will be leading you through the rest of your tour at the Tulsa House of Night, and is also in most of your classes. now, I must go, as I have other things to take care of. Blessed be."
We both watched as Neferet hurried off before turning to each other. A strange hush had fallen over the Dark daughter's table as they watched us.
"So, Calypso, huh?" The boy asked me with a grin.
I offered him a smile- a real one, not a 'I'm not a jerk, join my groupie!' smile like I'd given Zoey on her first day. "Yep. You are?"
"Rave, transfer extraoridinare. So, is this pretty girl's gonna teach me to fence?"
By one look at him, I knew he already knew how to fence, but I decided to humor him anyway. After all, I had missed the playful banter that had once come with having a friend, not a groupie.
"Nah, this pretty girl's gonna whoop your butt in fencing." I blink, suprised at my own words. "I mean... well, just come on."
Did I do okay? Also, Red, please forgive the Pharaoh crack. It set the mood pretty well. Sorry, 'cause I do love Pharaoh, but Calypso has her setting suspesions about him...
