Wait, so we start with 5th and 6th hours again? Are we EVER going to do the beggining half of the day? o.e

Calypso Delos

I could already feel it; this was actually going to be one of my days.

The punishment had gone to pass five days ago, and it hadn't been nearly has torrid as I'd thought it would be. Commando Kelly and I barely talked, just cleaned, and the dirty job was gone just as soon as Neferet had issued it.

I was out of the Nightmare slump- my make-up was perfectly done in sweet undertones, I was in my favorite pair of skinny jeans that I had warned Zoey off of (a fact she understood, making me feel that she wasn't, perhaps, as terrible as I'd thought her to be. For that moment, mind you) I was in a gray-and-white cotton quarter sleeve that my 'to-rich-for-you' Daddy bought me for my last birthday. I was feeling GOOO-OOD, like things were actually going to go my way, for the first time in a week.

And they did.

I noticed Neferet first. She commanded it, with that pretty little 'look at me' aura she kept around. Egotistic twit. However, it was impressing how quickly he took my attention away from the High Priestess.

He was gorgeous- this in itself was not an impressive feet. It was hard to come by an ugly Fledgling- even Pharaoh, with his ridicolous hair, had this attractive angle to his features. No, it was the way he was gorgeous- with an arrogant high-headed nature and Greek God-like looks. A Greek God... for a Greek Goddess.

I could see the nature of Neferet's idea before she even said a word- and I knew, just as quickly, that I was going to shut up and accept it. A certain intelligence glittered behind this new boy's eyes- a great contrast to most of my bubble-headed companions. I would not let Zoey add him to her growing list of minions- and Neferet clearly knew that.

"And this is the leader of our Dark Daughters, Calypso Delos." Neferet said in her powerful voice. I got up from my spot at the table, trying to look as wonderful as Neferet was going to make me out to be. "She will be leading you through the rest of your tour at the Tulsa House of Night, and is also in most of your classes. now, I must go, as I have other things to take care of. Blessed be."

We both watched as Neferet hurried off before turning to each other. A strange hush had fallen over the Dark daughter's table as they watched us.

"So, Calypso, huh?" The boy asked me with a grin.

I offered him a smile- a real one, not a 'I'm not a jerk, join my groupie!' smile like I'd given Zoey on her first day. "Yep. You are?"

"Rave, transfer extraoridinare. So, is this pretty girl's gonna teach me to fence?"

By one look at him, I knew he already knew how to fence, but I decided to humor him anyway. After all, I had missed the playful banter that had once come with having a friend, not a groupie.

"Nah, this pretty girl's gonna whoop your butt in fencing." I blink, suprised at my own words. "I mean... well, just come on."

Did I do okay? Also, Red, please forgive the Pharaoh crack. It set the mood pretty well. Sorry, 'cause I do love Pharaoh, but Calypso has her setting suspesions about him...
I have loved the words and I have hated them. I only hope I have made them right.

Professor Vento's class was annoying. We had to write a 2 thousand word essay on Mozart, by hand. I had to stay up till almost dawn speed writing. After about the 1,500th word, I started making stuff up. I luckily ended up getting a B.

"Now, if you turn to page 250 of your text book..." Professor Vento started to say before I tuned her our. Pharaoh's secret kept going through my head. Shaking my head, I dismissed it and listened to Professor as she was talking about our homework.

"You are to do a study on any musician from the Baroque time period. You are to write a 3,000 word essay, and turn it in by Friday," Professor Vento said. She got a room full of groans in reply.

I looked down at my book, and searched through the chapter looking for someone interesting.

Perfect. And I promise the next time we change days we'll go through the WHOLE day rather than just the last two classes xD Also, I'm sorry for those of you that don't like cussing. I do, thus Rave will.

Rave

I followed Calypso out of the "dining hall", watching her ass most of the way to fifth hour. Of course I should have known we'd have classes together. This High Priestess was playing match maker with the two of us, but it didn't bother me much. Calypso was beyond hot. Hell, words couldn't describe what this girl was.

"So, does everyone stare when they get a hot new student?" I asked, grinning a cocky smile down at her. "Or are you and I the only two good looking fledglings at this House of Night?"

Rave stayed behind me most of the way to Fifth Hour, and I doubted it was because he didn't know where he was going. Part of me wanted to turn around and smack his face away from my butt, but the other part whispered Hon, let him stare.

"So, does everyone stare when they get a hot new student?" He asked, grinning a cocky smile down at me. "Or are you and I the only two good looking fledglings at this House of Night?"

I raised a perfectly plucked eyebrow at him. "You've met an ugly Fledgling? You really must've gotten around." He chuckled, sending a jolt pleasure through me. "But yeah, most of these air-heads stop and stare when anybody who doesn't walk in head-down comes through those doors."

"That at lack of entertainment?" He said his words with a sarcastic twist. "Well, you and I will just have to give them something to cheer for, right?" He gave me that cheeky grin that was already becoming familiar.

"Whatever you say," The name Romeo waas left hanging in my head. "Now, come on. We're almost to the fencing class, and you wouldn't wanna be late on your first day, would you? Prof. Lankford as no problem taking on his late students."

Rave rolled his eyes, as if he could tell I was lying, but followed me anyway. We quickly got to the arena right before class started, and threw on the Fencing outfit. Suprisingly- or maybe less so- Rave still looked gorgeous in his.

"Alright, pair up." Dragon shouted. "Since Yesterday's class was mainly learning techniques and moves, we're going to put some of those moves to use today."

Rave immediatley grabbed my arm, like he had the suspicion that someone else would grab me first. If he only knew that half the people in this class hated my guts. "You gonna keep your promise of whopping me in fencing?"

I tried to conjure up a smile nearly as cocky as his, but probably failed miserably. "Wouldn't dream of breaking it. Un gar!"

With fifth hour coming quickly I was hoping Pharaoh would be my partner for today, the new blood that I had been informed of by so many other people. Rave, if I heard it right, I would look into his history and see why the sudden transfer here. He was a fifth former like myself. It seemed he had eyes for Calypso, which was fine by me, I didn't have to find out for myself, I heard he had already flirted with a bunch of different girls from all years, even the third former's and the sixth former's. To flirt with them had to take a lot of balls I even melted in the eyes of some of the sixth former's guy's but not lately. Me and Pharaoh had been secretly dating since our kiss a week ago. I still became weak at the thought of him.

"Yo Kelly!" I heard him call out.

I turn to see Pharaoh, who was smiling and looking as cute as ever. in his muscle shirt.

"Hey, how about me and you as sparing partners? I'll take an easy on you I promise." I gave a slight chuckle.

I promised I'd go easy on Kelly and I was never known to break a promise. For a girl, she packed a bite when it comes to fencing. We sparred like friends, but it was getting very hard not to think about our kiss last week. I couldn't forget the taste of her lips on mine, the silk of her hair in my hand, the loving embrace of her arm around me...Suddenly, I tripped backwards and Kelly kept me pinned down with the point of her sword at my chest. I chuckled nervously at this. I forgot I was in fencing class while I was lost in my private world and Kelly had me at my moment of weakness. "Well, I guess you win this round, Kelly. I'm impressed."

As I walked from the lunchroom to Spanish with Zoey I decided to express my feelings.
"Zoey I don't trust that new kid or Neferet." I whispered so no one would overhear. She looked at me and smirked.
"Does this have anything to do with the fact that he is hot and attracting all the girls' attention?" She asked knowingly. My head snapped up as fast as lightning.
"You think he's hot?" I asked accusingly. She laughed and I blushed. "No it has nothing to do with his looks it's just that a week ago I accidentally bumped into Neferet and she seemed a little... well to tell you the truth I think she seemed a little crazy. She was acting really strange and on edge. I think she's hiding something." I said.
Zoey looked at me and nodded. "Yea I guess she can be a little off, but I don't think we should jumpto conclusion." She said always the trusting one.
I smirked evilly at her and gave a dark chuckle. "Alright but now that we're roommates I can spy on him." I joked only half serious. She shoved me playfull and led me into the spanish room.

"You just stopped for some reason, having day dreams maybe?" I tease.

I offer my hand to him to get up, and he takes it. We laugh together slightly, if it wasn't for my fencing mask hiding my face he would see me blushing. We laughed nervously as we head over to my corner to get a drink from the water bottle I had in my corner, we laughed nervously as we were over there. I could tell Pharaoh was thinking about me and honestly I couldn't stop thinking about him.

"Maybe me and you should go out on our first official date, you know no more just sticking around in mine or your room. I'm sure Mark is getting tired of us talking in your room." I whisper.

At the mention of an offical date, I thought of it as a chance to introduce Kelly to my sister Angel. I haven't gotten a message reply from Angel in a month, so maybe I could have my chance to see her after all this time and let her meet Kelly. I took a breath. "Maybe some time after school, we'll sneak out with our Marks covered up and head to the local coffee shop. I used to go there with my mother and sisters every morning before I was Marked. You and me together, having ourselves a good time at the coffee shop. It's not very far from here, just a couple blocks left of here. I bet my mother and sisters are bound to show up as we used to. I know for a fact that my mother enjoys following a routine, so I have no doubt in my mind that she's bound to be there."

I looked at the clock, hoping it was nearly time for 6th hour, but was rewarded with another half hour. Grumbling, I looked at my book. I had decided to do my report on Jean-Baptiste Lully.

I took out a piece of paper and started taking notes. Born November 28, 1632, and died on March 22, 1687. Frowning, I slide that paper into another set of pages in the book and took out a fresh one. I started to doodle when Professor Vento called my name.

"Mark, please read the first paragraph from page 255 on Antonio Vivaldi," Professor Vento said. I turned to page 255 and cleared my throat.

"Antonio Vivaldi was born in Venice on March 4th, 1678. Though ordained a priest in 1703, according to his own account, within a year of being ordained Vivaldi no longer wished to celebrate mass because of physical complaints ("tightness of the chest") which pointed to angina pectoris, asthmatic bronchitis, or a nervous disorder. It is also possible that Vivaldi was simulating illness - there is a story that he sometimes left the altar in order to quickly jot down a musical idea in the sacristy.... In any event he had become a priest against his own will, perhaps because in his day training for the priesthood was often the only possible way for a poor family to obtain free schooling."

I looked up at Professor Vento who nodded. Professor Vento turned and went to another student's desk and made them read the next paragraph.

I watched Calypso's body as she positioned herself for an attack. She looked like she knew what she was doing, for the most part. What she didn't know was that I'd been a master at fencing when I was at my first House of Night. Of course I hadn't practiced in a long time, but I had a feeling that wouldn't matter. I could take this girl--this very hot girl.

I lunged at her with my foil but she easily deflected the blow, sidestepping me in the process. Calypso took the advantage and tried to touch me--with her foil of course--but I was too quick to be touched. I saw her face get serious and I smiled to myself. So that was what kind of girl she was--successful, sexy, smart, and flirtatious. He'd humor her, just this once.

I spent most of the class dodging and yelling "touché", but at the last minute, I gave it everything I had, knocking Calypso's foil aside as I backed her up against the wall. I gently poked her stomach with the foil before I advanced on her, backing her farther against the wall.

"Touché," she muttered, looking up at me. I gave her my cockiest smile and a short laugh before backing up and giving her room.

"You were right," I said, looking her up and down before giving her a wink. "You did kick my ass."

Zoey

I spent all of fifth hour thinking about what Ethan had said. He had been right, there seemed to be something up with Neferet. I made a mental note to ask Calypso after classes were over, if she was in the mood to even look at me today. Of course I should probably talk this kind of thing over with my friends, but I didn't really want to jump the gun and worry anyone just yet.

So that was the plan. I would ask Calypso if she'd noticed anything strange happening with Neferet. If she said no, I'd leave it at that and not worry about it anymore. It made me feel paranoid to think that there was something off about my mentor, and not in a good way kind of off.

And if she said she'd noticed too? Well I would deal with that if I got that far. Until then, I'd focus on acting normal and not drawing the attention I'd finally gotten off of me, back to me.

The idea of being able to meet Angel and Pharaoh's mom, was exciting it made me wonder what Angel and his mom were like. Idea's filled my head, the way Pharaoh had described it Angel was adoreable. But he had not mentioned much about his mom, or dad for that matter. I wondered if Pharaoh ever knew his dad, but none the less I couldn't help myself.

"Yea sure, why not after school today?" I asked.

I almost couldn't believe my ears. Kelly suggested we go out after school today, I almost thought I was dying. When I was sure nobody was watching, I kissed Kelly on the lips again. "We'll have to be extra careful not to give anyone else the impression that we're dating. Since we plan to have an offical date today, we have to make sure nobody knows we're going anywhere when we should be sleeping." I got on my feet. "Don't forget, the local coffee shop after school. Be sure to cover up your Mark beforehand, since it's outside the House."

He beat me. It stung a little bit, and anybody else I would've probably demanded another rematch, but Rave was still grinning at me. Thinking about it, I did win a few times, didn't I? I'm not sure if he let me win, as that last move told me he knew exactly knew what he was doing.

"I'm not so sure I really did," I say, putting my hand on my hip. "You better not've let me win."

He gave me another smoothering wink. "I don't give away my secrets."

I rolled my eyes, ready to respond when I hear; "Fifth hour over, Fledglings! You can go to you Sixth hour."

I blink. "Wait- so you have Tae Kwon Doe with me?"

"All classes but the first one together, remember?"

I grinned. "If you thought I just kicked your ass, you're about to be groveling for a win. C'mon."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I changed quickly into some clothes that wouldn't suffocate me while I tried to use my amazing Karate/ Tae Kwon Doe skills. I changed into a pair of short athetic shorts and a plain blue T-shirt, going out to meet Rave.

Our quickly found flirtatious banter was suprising. Neferet's match-making had gone over better than I'd thought it would. I mean, he was gorgeous- I'm not sure how much I liked his slightly pervy banter- but everything he said made me tingle. I hadn't had a relantionship since being here- I only ever had one boyfriend, when I was thirteen. Being that I was thirteen, it was a pointless little thing. I'd never been very flirtatious, but with Rave, well...

I excited the locker room, suprised to see Rave already waiting for me outside. Proffesor Missal had yet to start the class, so Rave and I had some time to talk. About what...? No clue.
I have loved the words and I have hated them. I only hope I have made them right.

I swore jumping out of bed. 'You should just go back to bed daughter there's no point in getting up.' Nyx's voice said smilingly. I sighed. 'I'm sorry Goddess I just felt like crap.' I replied not opening my mouth. 'I'll make sure your teachers understand. It's almost time for dinner I believe so go towards the dining hall I believe Zoey Redbird will be happy to see you.' She replied. I felt a hand chase away the aches and pains that had been bothering me for at least a day now. "Thank you Goddess." I said looking up at the ceiling.

Spoiler
As you can tell she's starting to get sick Saken give me the ok then.
"You are without a doubt, the worst pirate I've ever heard of."

"But you have heard of me."
