The day was so agonizingly slow. Everytime I looked at the clock the time stayed the same. I guess I was just so ancious for my date with Zoey. I had everything ready and currently in the refridgerator. I waited for the last minute of classes to tick by and when it did and the Professor Lankford dismissed us before i shot out of my seat to get changed. I had decided to go with causual look by wearing a grey T-shirt and a black cardigan and grey jeans. I slipped on my favorite pair of black converse and I was ready. Ipicked up the picnic basket from the fridge in the lounge and I waited for Zoey in the corridors seperating the girls' dorm from the boys'.

Alright, I'm here... it's been a hectic week.

Calypso

"Have you noticed anything... off about Neferet?" Zoey whispered, her sing-song voice hardly above a whisper, like she was half-afraid Neferet would wisk herself into our room and zap her.

My eyes shifted from their 'creeper dream-haunter' glare to a suprised look. Was it possible that Miss Dream-Haunter-Perfect-Cherokee-Princess was actually- insert suprised gasp here- useful? Actually- insert le gasp here- intellectual?

As suprised as I was, I knew I was treading on a sand hole. I needed to arrange my words carefully. "Off in what sense, exactly?"

She gave me another slightly annoyed look, but answered just as cautiously as I did. "Y'know... just not completely... good."

I looked her over then, taking in her ridicoulously unstylish outfit to the concentrated look on her face to the marks surronding her. "You're not exactly the idiot I thought you were, Redbird." Zoey gave me a huff, but watched me with interested eyes. "I agree. Neferet wasn't always like this- trust me, I know, I've been here awhile for sixteen- but all of a sudden... she's been getting weird. Only a few people- that artist girl Aphrodite-"

"Athena." Zoey corrected me.

"-Athena, whatever- Commando Kelly and her boyfriend have even been spotted talking to her like she's not some all powerful gift from the goddess. Like you."

Zoey didn't say anything for a second, as if she was thinking it over. My bitterness from my run-in with Serena earlier had faded into an interested intesity. Although Zoey clearly didn't deserve all the attention she got, perhaps she did have something that would make her useful- and no, not in an evil sense. Sheesh.

"Hm. Do you think that she's planning something...?"

"Anyone with that much of an evil aura isn't exactly good, genius." I examined the crackle on my nails. "I don't have a clue what she could be trying to get at, though- she's got everything." Zoey stared at me, like she knew that I knew that my words weren't the truth. "Don't look at me like that! So we've got a power hungry High Priestess on our hands. What could go wrong?" She sighed, but I could see she was mostly satisfied. "Wait two years and you'll have to deal with me trying to get in there, anyway. Now go make kissy faces at your boyfriend if you're done- I've got another layer of nail polish to do."
I have loved the words and I have hated them. I only hope I have made them right.

I assume I can post now, I want to get Kelly talking with Calypso.

Kelly Myers

The day had gone by in a flash for me my usual day was mainly filled with note taking not much else to be quite honest. My thoughts were mainly focused on meeting up with Calypso and setting things straight and ending this stupid rivalery once and for all. I stood nervously at Zoey's door hearing bickering on the otherside, not a good sign. But knocked anyways, it only took oe good knock to silence the bickering on the inside. Zoey opens the door with I can already tell an annoyed tone.

"What?" She answer's definitly sounding annoyed.

"Hey is Calypso around? I need to talk with her." I said nerviously.

"Just don't burn the place down alright?" She said.

I nodded and she walked out the door leaving it open for me, I walked in and she really didn't look happy to see me that was easy to tell. I knew that look anyday.

"I think it's time you heard the truth on what Serenity has done, how she ended our once great friendship and sent us into this rivalery." I said.

I hadn't been feeling well, so I was stowed up in my dorm. Nyx had let Neferet and the others know about my sickness, just to make sure that they didn't think I was skipping. Pharaoh hadn't said anything to me lately, which seemed odd to me. We usually talked after a day at school, but not lately.

Why would Zoey be annoyed? Calypso and her were just talking and not arguing.

Zoey

I didn't have to be told twice. I knew I was going to be late and the last thing I wanted was for Ethan to get the wrong idea. But before I left out the room, I turned back the Calypso and smiled at her. No, we weren't exactly friends, but I didn't think we were enemies either.

"Thanks," I said to her and then left. And I really meant it. It didn't seem like it meant much and to anyone else, it might not have, but to me it meant a lot. I knew there was something up with Neferet, something really wrong. I'd only been here a week and she was already starting to change--and not in a good way. Whichever way Neferet was going, she was leaving Nyx behind to pick up the pieces.

I wished there was some way for me to know what she was planning, where she was going with everything, but there wasn't. The simple fact was this: there was nothing for me to do. Not tonight anyway.

So I put all of that out of my mind and went to meet Ethan.

The day dragged on and I felt a little worried with a touch of shame. My mother's accusation still haunted my mind and it hindered my learning. I tried not to think about my mother's harsh and piercing accusation, but it was no use. To make it worse, I couldn't eat it off. After sketching class, I returned to the dorm I shared with Mark. I petted Angel and studied Mark. Somehow he didn't look so good. "What's wrong with you, Mark? You look like you're gonna hurl."

I stood up when I saw Zoey coming down the hall. She l;ooked gorgeous in her outfit; it was just right for a first date. She smiled when she saw me just standing there flicking a speck of dirt off of my clothes.
"Um hey," I said lamely trying to get my head in the games. "You look really nice."
She smiled at me and examined my clothing."Thanks, you clean up nice yourself." She said and I winked at her flashing my killer smile. "So where exactly are we going?" She asked.
I picked up the picnic basket from its spot on the couch and held my arm out for her. "We my dear Zoey are going on a picnic. I couldn't really think of anything else on account of that we can't leave school grounds without an adult." She nodded her head in understanding.
"Alright, let's go. She said pulling me along.

We were stationed at the spot under the big tree next to Nyx's temple. The stars were out and it made the setting very romantic. I passed Zoey one of her beloved Brown Pops that i packed especially for her ans took a cherry Coke out for myself. She munched down on a turkey and cheese sandwhich while I watched her. She finally looked up at me and caught me staring.

"I think I caught some kind of bug," I said. I coughed a couple of times before sighing.

"Just get your sleep," Pharaoh suggested.

I was sat hopelessly board in what was now my appartment in the main building of the House of Night, then it sturck me; I should go and mediatate in Nyx's Temple, although it's not the usuall thing I would do, or even think of for that matter. I dressed in my usual etire, only now the symbol over my breast was that of the teachers; a woman with upraised arms her hand cupping a full moon. The combination of a new symbol and full mark made me feel a bit 'weird', like a familier stranger; someone I think I know but don't... I brushed the hair out of my face letting my hand linger on the new wolf howling at my cresent.

I walked along the eastern wall towards the temple, passing the ancient oak that grew there and a small picnic beneath. Even from here I could see the two; Zoey and Ethan. They looked cute together, and they were staring at one another. I smiled, but continued on past- no need to interupt them. I found my way into the temple without interupting them, I was amazed how the place looked, so perfect and pristeen. It had only been... wait how long had I been asleep? Ah, it didn't matter. I soon found a stone bench, which was was suprisingly more comfortable than it looked, and brought my legs up, crossing them, resting my hands in my lap and closing my eyes. Dawn was fast approaching and early light was begining to shine through the uncurtained windows. I felt a light presure in the air as I called spirit to me, as if the room had suddenly become populated with numerous bodies of beings. The presure began to move closer to me, as if gently playing against my skin.

Mark's ailing emotions made me sick myself, but I knew I had to put up with it. I knew it wasn't me who was sick, it was Mark. I waited until Mark was asleep when I made a run for the temple. My affinity and my mother's accusation was hurting me inside and I needed to get away from Mark to reduce my unwanted sickness. I sighed and lowered my head to where I assumed a praying position. I still couldn't get my mother's accusation out of my head. Accusing me of taking Angel under my wing was something I could take, but accusing me of her disappearance and being like my father was harsh and emotionally painful. I sighed and closed my eyes to make a silent prayer to Nyx, asking for Mark to get better.

Pharaoh had left rather quickly. Then I remembered his Affinity. I sighed sadly and hid under my covers. I heard purring and then Los was on my head making me not move. Soon enough, we both were asleep.

I just stared at Kelly, almost able to see the words that were coming out of her mouth. Was she really going to blame this entire mess on Serena rather than her own desire for power?

"Commando Kelly." I flexed my fingers. "You have absolutely no clue what you're talking about. This rivalry is between us- not Miss Stick-up-her-butt."

Kelly gave me a look, and something lurched in my stomach. I may not have visions or mind-reading, but my kicked up intution knew what was going on. It did that sometimes- when something important was going to happen and I better get off my throne and listen.

Effective, right?

"You don't have a clue, do you? Things didn't go down the way you think-"

I interrupted her, looking up from the spreading of my nail polish to meet her eyes. "As much as I don't like Serena, she is a nice person- she didn't even argue when you took her place as official second-in-command. You aren't a Dark Daughter anymore, Kelly, and I won't let you talk crap about one of us. Why are you really here?"

She met my gaze, like she always has, but there was a glint of well-hidden nervousness. My gut lunged again. "I told you already, if you'd just listen- I want you to know the truth."

My curiousity had finally wore me down. "Fine. Zoey won't be back for awhile adn this should be a good story- tell me this new 'truth' of yours."

I sat there for a moment hesitaite in answering her but something forced me on, maybe it was that spark of friendship that first happened back then. I took a deep breath and began to slowly explain.

"She convinced me to fight you, making me believe that I could defeat you when I really couldn't. Our last match together made me realize this, and even now I couldn't beat you. She had tricked me into fighting my closest and dearest friend. Because, because she wants power to. And I was the only thing standing in the way of it. You seen how she had acted how she, tells us what can and cannot do,like she was our mother or something, but all she really wants is your posistion, so the Dark Daughter's the once pride of the House would fall into some crappy club. Where back in the day we only recurited the best of the best of fledgling's, the unqice into the Dark Daughter's. You remember how I trained all the feldgling's on how to use there fire affinity." I said.

Her eyes grew at what she could cause and for a moment, I thought I saw that old understanding as a leader in there how bad the Dark Daughter's could become if she was to take power. Her eyes softened knowing I couldn't be lying. I breathed deeply as I stood up I took a step forward.

"So what do you say, sanctun a match between me and her for my posistion and become our once glorious friends again?" I plead.
