As I entered the dining room, I saw Zoey and hid my grimace. I went over and got my breakfast, (eggs, sausage, and coffee), and sat distancing myself from her. As I began to eat, the lighs began to flicker as my mood darkened.

"Hey, why don't you come over and sit with us?" someone asked me. I looked up to see it was Pharaoh, my roommate.

"Sure," I said picking up my plate of food. I followed him over to where he and Kelly were sitting.

“Oh don’t worry, Calypso will be there to, I’m not the only one getting punished. She is to, I’ll have fun today listening to her bitch cry and moan that she doesn’t deserve it.” I said.

I see Zoey who wasn’t looking to keen she looked great don’t get me wrong, but she looked like she lost a few hours worth of sleep because of Pharaoh. Mark comes over to the table and sits with us, I hadn’t talked much with Mark in the past, because his affinity wasn’t seen as really good or unqice, more or less it was seen as useless to most. But Mark was okay by me, altho I was looking to talk to Pharaoh privately at one point about our kiss, that I still get a pounding heart from thinking about.

“So whats up with you man?” I ask Mark.

"Getting use to this place. I've been here for about 6 weeks. I came here after my parents were killed in a drunk driving incident," I told her sighing at the memory.

"You will get use to this place, and sorry about your parents. We all have our own story about why we are here. Are you finding your classes okay?" she asked me.

I nodded. "They are all okay," I said. That was when I noticed Zoey. I tried to smile, to hide the awkwardness and continued eating.

Serena -;

Serena sighed quietly and walked into the dining hall with her head held high. From every direction, people shouted out greetings to her. She smiled and politely tilted her head to each direction. Her attention, however, was on finding Zoey.

There. She was heading for the food, trying hard not to bring attention to herself. She was failing. The click-clack of her high heels, plus the stares from the boys, earned her a audience.

Serena scowled at the drooling boys and sauntered over to Zoey, taking place besides her in the line. She placed a stack of steaming pancakes on her plate and reached for the eggs, while her brain searched for something to say.

"Hi." Zoey said shyly.

"Hey, there." Serena smiled softly. She held up a scoopful of scrambled eggs. "You want?"

Zoey shook her head and said, "No thank you."

Serena nodded and replaced the ladle back into the dish. "Where are you going today, Z?" She said, pointing to the hidden Mark and then to the shoes.

(I can't remember, is she a vegetarian?)

Calypso Delos

For the first time in months, I was looking in a mirror and didn't like what I saw.

I looked like complete crap, like a girl who had spent the entire night crying because her boyfriend of two years just dumped her for a slutty cheerleader. Such was not the case. My dreams were worst than they usually were, and I had a suspicion that they weren't naturally caused. The flames. They were everywhere last night, consuming my whole body. I'd never been afraid of fire- I'd grown to like it, at one point- but now... I doubt I would ever feel the same. It wouldn't have been so terrible if it was just Commando Kelly and her stupid Egyptian throwing fire at me and laughing but no, she had to be there, warning me in an almost Nyx-like voice not to make her an enemy.

Yeah right.

I felt like I'd been up all night, even if I had only arisen from my probable non-stop screaming a few times. It was one of those dreams where you just can't wake up, no matter how hard that evil villian give you that malicious stare. I shivered to myself. I'd tossed the little twit from my bathroom; eventually I'd have to get over myself and throw on some make-up. Something that made me look less terrible, at least.

I brush light mascara on my lashes, and use cover-up to try and hide the lack of sleep look I had. I toss on Cherry lip gloss, blinking at my reflection in the mirror. No. I still looked like I'd been through Hell and back. I smother on a little more make-up before going in search of my most rag-tag outfit. I quickly found a pair of worn-out jeans but the top... Ha. Found it. The perfect thing to get the message directly through Kelly's thick skull about what I thought of her. It was a shirt she'd made me, a long time ago, with my name across the chest. It would sent the perfect message- cleaning horse crap with a shirt she made me. I could almost laugh at the irony if I wasn't so darn tired. I threw on a pair of pink mudboots my Mother bought me that I swore I'd never wear, and walked to the Dining Hall.

All I grabbed was a Bannana muffin before sitting down besides Adrianne. My red-haired side-kick blinked in my direction, looking suprised, before noting my peeved expression and turning back to her gossip. I bit down on my muffin, accounting all the girls in their place... except for Serena. Although I considered Adrianne my bubble-headed side-kick, Serena was the true second-in-command. She had been long before my leadership and, claiming to have no interest in my job, stayed in her spot. I looked around for her before spotting her- much to my chagrin- talking to Zoey. I felt my nose twitch. I needed to warn her about the little egomaniac, as she probably will take it apon herself to 'take care' of Zoey. Like little Miss 'five elements' needs it. Psh.

My muffin inhaled, I realized I probably needed to go down to the stables. Maybe I could just calm down a bit before Commando Kelly got there, talk to a horse or two. I hurry away from the Dark Daughter's without a muttered goodbye, too involved in myself and the bad feelings I had about what was coming to realize that they didn't care all that much anyways.
I have loved the words and I have hated them. I only hope I have made them right.

I skipped lunch and headed back to my dorm to make a phone call. After eeverything that had been going on lately I just needed to chill. On my way to my room I bumped into someone and knocked them down.
"Watch were you are going you incom- I mean Ethan." Neferet said glaring at me. Being the gentleman that I was I bent down to quickly help her up, but I did catch her slip of the toungue. She had a cruel-looking, forced smile plastered on her face and it made me feel utterly repulsed and suspicious. However, I bowed with my hand crossed over my heart respectively.
"My apologies Priestess, I was not watching where I was going." I said cooly acting like I was truely sorry when really I wasn't.
"Of course, just be more watchful next time, what are you doing wandering the halls anyway? Shouldn't you be at lunch this hour?" She asked with a skeptic eyebrow raised.
"Yes Priestess but I wanted to go to my room instead, I wasn't feeling very hungry." I said. She nodded once and scurried away. I didn't let myself ponder about what she had been doing prior to my bumping into her. I made my way down the hall to my room and pulled the cell phone from under my matress and dialed the number for the private cell phone I had gotten my little sister before I left home.
After two hours of talking I finally let her get backto sleep and drifted off into my own dreams.

(Yes, she's vegetarian.)

Zoey

The days seemed to fly by and, before I knew it, a week had gone by. Everything had settled down and I'd just gotten into the groove of things. Calypso and I had come to agreements about our roommate situation: we didn't talk unless we had to, she got the shower first in the mornings, and there was no way we were borrowing each other's clothes unless the world was ending and even then there was no way I was, in her words, "ever going to fit into her size 4 Aéropostale jeans." I'd began eating lunch--and breakfast and dinner--with Serena, Athena, and Ethan, who I was kind of crushing on.

So it had been exactly a week after I'd joined the House of Night, lunchtime, when everything had gone from all eyes on me, to all eyes on the new transfer.

I was picking at my salad and sipping on a Dr. Pepper while listening to Ethan and Athena argue over what the Spanish homework meant. Selena didn't really get into these kinds of things, and I didn't blame her. The only free time we had without school work and they were still talking about it.

"So what's been up with you?" I asked her casually. She looked up at me and I smiled genuinely at her. I knew this wasn't easy for her, being my protector--though I still refused to believe I needed one. I knew she hadn't signed up to protect a freak, but Nyx had told her clearly what she had to do, and she wasn't going to go against Nyx. We'd talked about it once, though she hadn't quite called me a freak. Hell, she hadn't even been rude to me, like most people here were.

Instead of answering me, though, I noticed her eyes were focused over my shoulders and her eyebrows were raised. I turned to see what she was gawking at and ended up gawking too. Neferet had walked in the dining hall, a really attractive boy following behind.

"Who is that?" I heard Athena ask and I shrugged. It was Ethan who answered.

"He must be the new transfer," he replied with a matter-of-fact tone. I looked back at him, eyebrows going up.

"How do you know?" I asked questioningly. He shrugged nonchalantly and looked at me like it didn't really matter.

"He's supposed to be my new roommate." I turned back around, shaking my head to myself and looking over the new boy. He had sandy brown hair and a cute face--ok, so cute didn't quite explain what he was. He was tall, but he had muscle to him, though he wasn't totally buff. He smiled a cocky smile at one of the girls gawking at him. I could swear the girl nearly fell out of her chair with excitement.

"He looks arrogant," Serena said solemnly. I looked over my shoulder at her and smiled, this time teasingly.

"Oh, come on, don't tell me you don't think he's cute," I teased. I heard Ethan snort and giggled a little bit. But all of my joking ended as soon as I saw Neferet lead the new kid straight up to Calypso.

I was just busy eating my apples and chocolate-covered strawberries when I sensed tension in the dining hall. I looked and saw Neferet with a young man with her. Seeing him made me somewhat uneasy, which doesn't happen very often since Redbird came along. Goddess help us all. I resumed eating, paying no heed to the latest blood. I looked at Mark. "Looks like we have new blood in the House, Mark. I don't know why, but the dude makes me uneasy. I don't know him at all, but I'd steer clear of him just to be safe if I were you."

I nodded at Pharaoh's words. I had felt his presence as he had entered, and i couldn't breathe at first. I looked at him, hoping to get a good look at him. He turned his head my direction, and I lowered my head. His look had sent a chill of ice down my spine.

"There's something off with him. Something about him seems familiar," I said to Pharaoh, lowering my voice to keep the new boy and Neferet from listening.

I took a sip of my apple juice. "You said it, Mark. Besides, I get the feeling that we're in for a nasty surprise if something comes up. I think it's safe to say we might have to keep our distance from that guy until we're sure he's safe to be around." I ate another apple slice. "Can you keep a secret? It's something I should've told you last week, but didn't because I had to make up some lost sleeping time."

I sat down beside Mark, then lowered my voice to whisper in his ear, "I know you were there the night I got scorched in the face. Hours after I was healed, I went to Kelly's dorm to discuss payback against Calypso. When Redbird told us her dorm mate was asleep and before I exacted my revenge, I did something I thought I'd never do in my life since I was Marked. My secret is I kissed Kelly and now, I can't stop thinking or dreaming about her." I sighed. "There I said it. I can't explain it, Mark, but I think I'm in love with Kelly."

I smiled at Pharaoh. "Happens a lot," I said. "And I will keep your secret." I looked down at my empty plate and drunk the rest of my coffee. I glanced at my watch, noticing it was time for 1st hour. "Well, see you later Pharaoh," I said. I nodded to everyone, telling them bye, and walked out the door, past the new blood, and to 5th hour.

edited it to account to time

(Psst, it's lunch time ;) And I'm not posting as Rave until Sunshine posts. And I'm sorry this sucks so bad >.>)

Zoey

It felt nice to be the one doing the staring rather than the one being stared at. It was a good change for once. But before long, I turned back to my food and my group and began to feel bad. I knew what it was like to be new and put in his situation. Except he seemed to be enjoying the attention.

I finished my salad, threw my plate away, and headed out of the dining hall. If there was one thing that calmed me more than anything, it was grooming the horse Professor Lenobia had told me was mine to care for--but not really mine. My feet had been heading in that direction even before my mind told my body where to go. Lunch seemed to go by slowly, so maybe I could just pass the time--silently--with Persephone.

Waking up once more to a beautiful night. I got my gear on with a new set of fighting gloves, I walked into the dining hall and everyone took notice quickly I practically screamed gorgeous. I walked over to Pharaoh and Mark my heels clicking against the hard ground, I gave Pharaoh my best smile and then mark.

"Hey guy's! How was your sleep during the day." I said with a giggle.
