I smile, "He likes Rutila too though...I don't know If I can protect him. He needs someone to do that. I can't." I looked down ashamed and then back up at Drake.

Drake- My heart feels all weird now. I wonder if I'm having a heart attack. "You know, the whole knife-throwing thing would probably work a lot better if you sharpened the blade every once in a while," I say, looking at the depression in the wood left by her dagger, desperately trying to change the subject.

Drake- "Here, let me have a look," I say. She pulls the knife back and eyes me suspiciously. I roll my eyes and hold up my hand. "On my word," I say, "I won't steal your dagger." My word means nothing, but I'm not going to take her dagger. She's the only person who's been any degree of friendly towards me in a long while. She hands me the blade and I look it over. "Good quality," I say, "the handle work's nice. I bet they have some sharpening steel in the kitchen. I'll go check." I hand her back the blade and head to the kitchen, making sure the chefs not in there. Rifling through the cupboards, I find what I'm looking for. "Hey, what're you doing in here, you little thief?" a heavily accented voice calls out as I close the cupboard. "Leaving," I say, tucking the sharpening steel in my jacket and easily outrunning the fat chef. I come back to the meeting room slightly out of breath and show Jesse the sharpening steel, which just looks a lot like an unsharpened dagger. "Now I can show you how to sharpen a blade," I say.

Drake- I show her how to sharpen the dagger, then hand it to her so she can try. She's a fast learner and figures it out pretty quickly. "Pretty good for a beginner," I say, running my finger along the edge of the blade.

Drake- "Thanks," she says, then sticks the blade in her boot. "Your welcome," I say, then suddenly feel really stupid. She could easily use the very blade I just helped her sharpen to kill me in the future. "Maybe you should give the sharpening steel back to the chef. He doesn't really like me that much, and all I did was punch his fat nose."

I nod, "I almost beat Rutila when we were training. Almost. She used one of her moves on me and Then Micah broke it up." I shrugged, "If I can get that far with Rutila then I think I can beat a chef."

Drake- I laugh, trying not to look too worried. Rutila won this whole thing already; if this girl could almost take her, then she had to be good. "There's really no hope for me, is there?" I say, sighing.
