Mitzi Delancey, Animorph
I looked the girl up and down, my hands on my hips. Finally, I told her, "Ya knows, I'se kinda loike ya. You'se ain't da muttonhead dat I t'ought ya was. So how bout we call off all da bets an get on wit our day?"
She snorted, "Still too afraid to fight me?"
I shook my head and clapped her on the shoulder. "I'se dun't soak me friends. Besides, I'se doubt dat you'se can beat me. Tought meself ta fistfoight, I did."
I started to walk away, trying to ignore the tired feeling I had from changing. She called after me, "Hey, what's your name?"
"Mitzi Delancey. An dun't forget it." Then I turned back into a falcon and she let me go on my way this time.
Open the gates and seize the day! Don't be afraid and don't delay.

Aylia- Firebreather

As I watched Mitzi and Victoria go away, probably to go away and fight. Nick gave me a look. One that I should be practicing. He'd told me earlier I should get my act ready for the next show.

I walked a little bit away from everyone, and began by just heating up my body temperature. My normal temperature was around 72 degrees, which had astounded doctors. I figured it was to keep me from roasting alive.

I did it by just sitting down in the sun and waiting. By the time I was smoking I knew I was ready. Most of the people knew by now to keep a fair distance away, especially Nick. I'd burned him before.

First I just made a fire; snapping was the only way I could do this. When there was fire in my hand I blew it out. Now I could do all of my fire without thinking.

I'd been thinking about what I'd do for my new trick. I'd always wondered if I could make shapes in fire. It would be difficult, and I could hardly control fire, but I'd try.

First I tryed out my fire breathing. When I was like this and I screamed it would come out effortlessly.I screamed as loud as I could, and apparently todays temperature was pretty high. I was probably 200 degrees right now, so my fire went 300 feet up in the air. I saw a few people watching, most likely the people who hadn't seen this before, but I was doing this when I was 10.

I lit a circle 10 meters around, and tried to shape it into some shape, preferably a square. In a few minutes I'd gotten it, from there I molded it into a dragon that shot fire out of it's mouth. I made it fly around then extinguished it.

I got bored after that and started lighting the forest on fire. "What was that?!," yelled Nick, who'd made it over here in a matter of seconds, "Put it out!"

I had no intention of doing that anytime soon and I let it go on for at least a minute. Then I figured I should stop terrorizing everyone and drew the fire out of the forest. The trees showed no sign of harm.

I ran and jumped onto the trailer and jumped into the air. At the moment I had such high body heat I worked as a hot air balloon and just floated twenty feet up in the air.

I didn't do it often, but I figured I should get out of here soon.

Asher- Gravity Manipulation

Breakfast was good, but now it was time to start practicing. Hopping up from her sitting position, she began to focus her energy in the core her body. After about a second, she released it, and let it spread through the rest of her body. Feeling her feet leave the ground, she smiled to herself. She never really knew how she seemed to glide from place to place, her body just knew what to do.

Pretty soon she was playing (and practicing) on top of the tree tops. She was doing flips, twirls and all kinds of other tricks, from the top of one tree to the next. This was just the start of her practice. Pretty soon, she would come back down to earth and train her body, but she had a feeling she was going to be up her for a while. Unless they needed her else where, of course.

Codie - Water Control

I finished cleaning up after everyone who had eat pancakes, and ran over to see what all the fuss what about, Aylia had put half of the forest in flames. Usually I was called over to help put it out, me being in control of water and all that. However, for once, she put it out herself and stormed into her trailer.

“Bloody hell, that girl and her mood swings,” I muttered.

“Tell me about it” Nick said, and went to finish setting up for the show. I decided now was the best time to go and practise for my act, which wasn’t hard - Yes, I danced on water, but it didn’t mean I had to practise on it. Water to me was just the same as anything else you can walk on.

I started to dance, it was mostly improvised - I had, had ballet lessons back in England as a child, but they were long ago, meaning I still had the moves, but not the routines. All the time I wondered how I could change the act, it was getting boring, even for me, Not to mention I needed a new dress, the black and pink one I had been using since I joined the circus was starting to look old, and worn - But I guessed that would have to wait.

Jonathan

There was allways a rush of activity in the circus that I wasn't used to. I noticed Codie walking off by herself, an out of impulse followed her. I noticed she was working on a routine. It wasn't the one she normally performed, just an elegant sucsession of turns and twists.

She stopped for a moment, then sighed with a smile.

"That looked good, is it a new routine?" I mentally slapped myself. Stupid question, Jonny. Since when do we ever randomly make up new routines?

"Improvising." She smiled, and twirrled a bit of water around her fingers.

"I'm going to go help help Nick set up, but, you know, keep up the good work, and stuff...." I was hopeless. I was a hopeless pathetic mess of a person. I would never be able to talk to a woman if my own dear life depended on it.

I found Nick moving pieces of the tent around with his mind, and I nodded my greeting.

"Need any help?"

Victoria-

I practiced my powers. I flew up into The air and froze a bird in the air, then brought her down into my hands. I blew on it and she became defrosted. I smiled and let it go. I forced water from the lake and threw some up in the Air, freezing it in mid-Air as I caught it. "Ohh... I'm getting better at this." I flew back down and put the ice in the cooler.

I wen't back up into the air and flew around, I pretended like I was touching the clouds. I wasn't a big fan of heights though.

I hit a tree and fell. "Shoot! Need to work on that." I got back up and dusted myself off. A total fail. I walked back over to the camp.

I smiled and sat back down, embarassed.

Nick, teleporter,

As everyone finishes breakfast and starts to work on their acts, Mitzi flys off to scout out Sunnyside, and I go about setting up the Circus. I start with the admittance tent, which will determine the placement of everything else. With my mind, I teleport it out of the box where it is stored. It appears in a heap at my feet, a mess of striped canvas and guylines. Concentrating, I imagine what it looks like when fully erected, and close my eyes. The tent disappears, but instantly reappears, its molecules rearranging themselves into the set-up tent. I grin, but I'm exhausted. Using my power for this kind of thing drains my energy. Usually, I'd ask for Asher and Jonathan's help, but I wanted to practice. I definitely won't be able to set up the main tent like that.
Just then, Jonathan walks up and nods in greeting.

"Need any help?" he asks, smiling. I smile back and nod.

"That would be great," I say, before flashing out of existence and reappearing next to the boxes where we store the parts for the big tent, "Help me unpack these, won't you?"

Jonathan "Jonny"

I pulled open the small crates as gently as possible, and lifted out the poles and canvas of the tent. For a brief time, Nick and I worked in silence. He would assemble the finitie parts of the telescoping poles together, and I would set them in place.

I thought absentmindedly about the different people in the circus. I had unknowingly formed a stong opinion about each one, never having been aware that I had such definete thoughts.

One face kept popping into my mind, and I tried to push it away. Codie. Damn pretty women. Why couldn't I just act normal around her?

After what seemed like an hour, the flags of the big tent were waving high above Nick and I. I looked up at them, pleased, and then went to go see what the others were working on.

I saw Victoria sitting on the ground, a little red faced, "You okay?"

Victoria|Ice controller

I looked up as someone Talked to me. "You okay?" He was surprisingly handsome. I smiled . "Yeah, Just gotta learn how to get a soft landing." I muttered as I lay down in the silky green grass. My hair spread across it, like a flower had just bloomed. I rested my hands on my stomach as my blue eyes looked up at the sky. I looked at him.

"What's your name?" I asked Twidling a peice of leaf between my fingers as I froze it. I grabbed a rock and froze it as well, and started tossing it up and down like a baseball.

Adam Wright - Mind Talking

I walked away from Alyia after a few minutes. She wasn't going to answer me, and that was fine. I could tell she needed to think about what I'd said and what her future actions would be.

I lurked around in the shadows of the vehicles for a while, before seeing Jonathan talking with the new girl, Victoria. An idiotic name, if you ask me, but she was pretty hot. Her icey blue hair was spread across the grass and her eyes were trained on Jonathan, who was standing over her and looking a bit like the way he looked at Codie. I almost felt pity for the guy. He seemed so weak.

I smirked to myself as I decided to have a bit of fun.

Still blending in the shadow of the van, I spoke into Victoria's mind. 'Hey there, hottie. Why you wasting your time with Johnny Boy when you could have a real man?'
It didn't matter that Jonathan might find out what I said about him. It's not like we were actual friends. I just wanted to play with Victoria a bit. It was all just a game.

Victoria- Ice controller

I heard someones voice in my mind.

'Hey there hotte. Why you wasting your time with Johnny Boy when you could have a real man?

I leaned up and looked around. I was so confused.

Uh-Who's this? I smiled knowing someone was watching me. I decided to play along. What could it hurt? I laughed to myself. And your not the first person to say that to me. I walked around, and held the ice in my hand. Usually Its hurts other people because it's so cold but for me It was normal. This was going to be fun. I guess I just might make this a game. Haha, I can handle that.

I cracked my knuckles and pushed my hair out of my face. This was going to be hard to figure out. But all I need to do Is find out who can communicate by minds.

I was left a tiny bit flustered after Jonathan talking to me, though I was almost sure that was the almost the most he'd ever talked to a girl.

Okay, so I liked the guy, like - really, liked him and had for quite a while, I'd tell him, but I couldn't, because I had no idea what I could say to him, without his getting all choked up, and having no idea what to say.

I needed help, but that was Jonathan, everyone either came to him or I, and obviously, I couldn't ask myself could I?

So, I went and asked Nick, he was sorting out the last bit of prep for the circus – at first I almost stopped myself, but I decided.

“Hey Nick?” I asked, he turned round and smiled.

“Can I talk to you, er…about Jonathan?”

Nick, teleporter,

"Hey, Nick. Can I talk to you, er...about Jonathan?" I turn around to see Codie standing there, looking somewhat awkward. I smile.

"What about him?" I ask jokingly. She gives a small smile.

"You know...," she says, gesturing at him. He's standing at the other side of the field.

"Do I?" I say dryly. She glares at me, "Alright, alright, I get it. You're beginning to feel like you're more than just friends, yes?"

"Well, that's what I want it to be, yeah," she says, blushing. I grin.

"In my experience," I say, "It's best just to ask. Otherwise, things get complicated really fast, believe me." As I say it, I catch myself thinking about Juliette. I quickly banish the thought. That was years ago.

Scouting the town was routine, and almost boring. The Bulls, like in every other small town that we visited seemed inept at first glance, but they were sure to run us out in about a week. I did like the feeling of flying, though. Having my wings fill with air and the power of being so high, yet being able to see the mice in the alleys was tremendous. I made my way back to the circus when I started thinking about eating one of the mice as a snack, though.

When I touched down and turned back into a human, I was immediatly hit with the normal exaustion that I felt. I needed to find my diggins. Now. I stumbled with my eyes half closed past Codie and Nick, talking about Johnny. There was always some nonsense drama about who-liked-who in the circus. I didn't have that problem. I was very sure that none of the guys here liked me. I was too frightening at first. If they had lived in the slums of the Bronx, they would be this way too. I had to fend myself off from would be murders and the like.

I pulled Nick aside to give him my report. "Da Bulls're jus loike in any odda small town. Dey'll let us run fer bout a week, den dey'll run us out. Da people dun't have much ta do hea, so I bet we'se get a lota coustamas."

He smiled, knowing of my gambling habit. "Do you want to make a bet on that?"

I gave him a tired grin. "Shore, but I'se can't now. I'se gotta take a nap. You'se know how it is."

He nodded, looking a little concerned. "Then go sleep. We'll bet later."

I nodded, saying as I inched my way toward the emptied trailer. "Alright. I'll be up in bout an hour ta help wit da set up some moar."
