I felt hurt at this. I knew mortals had a short lifespan, but thanks to my caring kindness, Allan might have a chance to live a longer life. I was tempted to end his mortality and begin his immortality, but I didn't go for such a risk. I took that big of a gamble twice in my lifetime, so I wasn't sure whether to do it again. "I know that. As a mortal, you have but one life on the earth to live. You know you're going to die, but don't know when. Sometimes I wished I could grow old and die in my sleep, but as a vampire I can live until the end of time. My immortality has become my second and eternal lifetime. To be as young as you for as long as I have, it's like the world is your true Neverland. If I turn you now, then you'll have to do the same thing I did when I was turned. Work for your own parents until it's time to tell them the truth. Once they die, they take your secret to the grave. Like my parents had before I left Egypt for good."
Look down and show some mercy if you can. Look down, look down, upon your fellow man.
I smiled and kissed his forehead. "I don't have to turn you now, Allan. I rather do it when you ask me to. I'm willing to wait. If you want it to wait, then it will wait." I led him back home at ten minutes until midnight. Once we got home, I sat down on the couch with him on my lap. I held him in my arms with his head on my shoulder. "I never shared my long history with anyone before, but I wanted to share it with you so you could know me more. If I was killed, at least you would know what kind of creature I was like in my lifetime." I stroked his hair. "Remember that we're together, now and until death."
Look down and show some mercy if you can. Look down, look down, upon your fellow man.
We walk home and he sets me on his lap, placing my head on his shoulder.
"I never shared my long history with anyone before, but I wanted to share it with you so you could know me more. If I was killed, at least you would know what kind of creature I was like in my lifetime." He says, stroking my hair. "Remember that we're together, now and until death."
I lightly smiling, content with that fact, and nod.
I'm never what I like I'm double sided And I just can't hide I kind of like it When I make you cry 'Cause I'm twisted up, twisted up Inside
I checked the clock. The night was still young and I had nothing better to do. I thought over what to do, then made up my mind. What I was thinking of might be a crazy idea, but I wanted to get it over with. "I want to have a word with your parents. I'll explain it to them without revealing myself as a vampire. Surely your father might've heard a story from his side of the family about a bronze man who freed a woman who was with child. I know that might give my true nature away, but I had a false history for every story that has me involved. I'm smart enough not to risk revealing myself as a vampire."
Look down and show some mercy if you can. Look down, look down, upon your fellow man.
"He has to listen. I told you about that risk I took to free your ancestress, therefore you and him owe me your lives. I just need to have a moment of his time." I knew my idea was crazy, but my parents knew me as a hardheaded boy. "If I have to, I'll have you and Silver to back me up. Knowing Silver, she won't let your father put me back to prison."
Look down and show some mercy if you can. Look down, look down, upon your fellow man.
I open my mouth to say something but find I have nothing more to say to that. Defeated, I look down and swallow, knowing that was the end of the conversation.
I'm never what I like I'm double sided And I just can't hide I kind of like it When I make you cry 'Cause I'm twisted up, twisted up Inside
I could tell Allan was defeated, which hurt me inside. "Allan, I'm sorry. I just wanted to make peace with your parents. Let them know I mean no harm to you or anyone. I thought that if I made peace with them, you and I wouldn't have some kind of tension in our relationship."
Look down and show some mercy if you can. Look down, look down, upon your fellow man.
I sighed. "I just want to know your immediate family, to see the results of my act of kindness. If it makes you uneasy, I won't even think about it again." I wasn't as forceful as the Bloodlust Twins. If Allan didn't want me to see his family, I won't force him to let me. Whether he wanted me to see his family or not, it was his choice.
Look down and show some mercy if you can. Look down, look down, upon your fellow man.
I still don't understand, but I don't want to stop him. He promised to keep us together...This won't change that then. I sigh and sit back against him, forcing myself to relax.
"I just... I don't want to go back," I whisper.
I'm never what I like I'm double sided And I just can't hide I kind of like it When I make you cry 'Cause I'm twisted up, twisted up Inside
I stroked his back. "Then I won't go or even think about it, for your sake. I won't make you go back, so I'll let it go and leave it alone." I knew better than to force him to go back. If he didn't want to go back, then I would stay with him and never bring it up. He chose to stay with me, so I decided to support his choice. It was his choice and I rather put his decisions before my own.
Look down and show some mercy if you can. Look down, look down, upon your fellow man.
fun fact i hear my evil twin once wrote a story about a hacker who used the name fyshi33k bc there are 33k-ish species of fish and she liked phishing so fyshi-33k made sense but then she got super embarrassed when someone forced her to explain — VyperShadow
