Your Favorite Book of All Time

So, I got a Nook for Christmas, and my library allows me to rent ebooks to download for a limited time to my Nook for free. So, it's fantastic. But, I need some awesome books. And by awesome I don't mean lame. Which is obvious.

I mean AWESOME. Amazing. Terrific. Award-worthy.

I need novels. I don't care what genre. I just need something that has really affected you as a person when you read this book.

Lolita, by Vladimir Nabokov [Dark Literary]

The Lies of Locke Lamora, by Scott Lynch [Fantasy]

The Amnesia Clinic, by James Scudamore [Literary] (It's a new favorite of mine!)

Idlewild, by Nick Sagan [Sci-Fi]

The Bible, by Moses, David, Matthew and the other Gospel writers, Paul, and many others, as they received revelation by God, and or were lead by the Holy Spirit.

One of my favorite Non-Classic novels is The Elegance of the Hedgehog, by Muriel Barbary.

The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas

The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini or Zeitoun by Dave Eggars. You should also consider The Baseball Box Prophecy (I forget who by) or Things Not Seen if you're looking for something less serious.

I've heard of it, but I haven't had the chance to read it yet. I read this for my English class and I completely loved it, even though most of the class seemed to hate it. Best $12 I ever spent, and I didn't think I would ever pick it up again when I first bought it. I'll have to consider reading it when my to-read list gets a bit smaller...

The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton
