*Alright I think people are a little confused. When the Dark Relics dissapeared word was spread about them all over the place. Even a very small child could tell you what they are. What the majority of people DON'T know is what they can actually do, or what their respective curses are.*

Rhyder: The Forest's Edge-

It felt like the bloody thing was burning a hole through his pack. That was just his imagination though, the Ring couldn't actually do anything unless he actually put it on. At least, he thought so. Why did he have to find one of the other Relics first, it was the Glass he really needed. If Rhyder didn't figure out what that mirror had done to him he would be a dead man by years end. One way or another.

Grousing morosely Rhyder passed beneath the shaded bowers of the trees and out into open fields. He'd been flying non stop for three days and his black wings still trembled with exhaustion. Dragging across the ground the tips picked up dirt as he walked. They needed a break. Still it was better then facing a tribe of man eating goblins that could swim through stone like water. Rhyder had been forced to 'borrow' the Ring before their chief could put it on.

"Vengeful things goblins." Rhyder thought absently.

In his hand he held a pure white stone. It was a Truthstone. Exceedingly rare, only a handful existed in the world. They had the inate ability to tell truth from lie, and darkened accordingly depending on what the holder spoke. Real Truthstones were held only by various royal families, except for Rhyder's. Rhyder had stolen it from his mother before he ran away. In the past few months he had also found it to be a fair indicator of just how far off the deep end he was.

An old nursery rhyme ran through Rhyder's head. His Baya, the nursemaid who had taken care of him had told Rhyder many stories and legends. After Rhyder realized what the mirror had done to him one of the old rhymes had struck him as oddly apropas to the situation he was trapped in. Rhyder chanted it under his breath as he clasped the Truthstone.

"Not that easy
Not that quick
To get inside
To pass this trick
To tune yourself
To ring the bell
Who do you serve
Heaven or Hell?"

"I serve Heaven." Rhyder spoke the words with all the conviction he could muster. Still when he looked at the stone it made his heart freeze. Only a few weeks ago the stone had been snow white when he spoke those words. Yet now it was streaked with pale greys.

*I figure Hector could sense the Ring and mistake it for the mirror.*

Will be offline line for awhile. I'll check back in in a few hours.

name- Felicia Trawney

character.jpg (32.28 KiB) Viewed 1521 times

history- Felicia was always extraordinary, but once she recieved the mirror as a gift, she knew she was doomed. If her powers were intense before, there was no telling what they would be like now. She passed on the mirror praying no one else would give into temptation and look at it. She decided to go into hiding, just to be sure her newly found powers didn't hurt anyone else. Unfortunatly that plan didn't work. She hasn't gone completely mad, but sometimes she gets in a fit where she goes crazy. She doesn't realize where she is and she trusts no one. Her powers go wild, and then she'll calm down. Once when her father visited her, she went into one of her fits and injured him badly. That's when she decided she wasn't going to pretend the power wasn't there, she was going to fight it.

personality- She's determined and hopeful. She will try anything that might help no matter what the consequences. She's independent and stubborn and doesn't like it when people tell her what to do. She truly believes that she can fight off her powers no matter how bad it gets.

magic- Felicia can use any kind of magic. Anything having to do with the elements are her strength. Her fire power is extrordinary while her water and earth powers are just behind. She prefers using her water powers, but they don't do much harm.

skills- Felicia is good at following people without being noticed. She's very sneaky and she almost seems invisible, even to herself. She can follow anyone anywhere and they would never find out. She is also a fairly good horse rider. Actually, the only thing she can do on a horse is ride it without falling off. Really nothing special.

other- Felicia is physically fit and can run for miles. She's quite strong and enjoys working out to make herself stronger.

Griffin-I'm not sure if you know but, Itaeo being a death magician can heal himself and is almost indestructible from attacks-like being dropped (he can get hurt but he heals in a very short amount of time.) Hector knew this, he was just playing a sick joke. if you knew this- pay no attention to me! :D)

Itaeo Haruon:

I looked from Hector lying still in the dirt staring wide eyed to Alekan who was holding out to me a bottle of evil smelling liquid, I can heal myself my few broken ribs weren't a huge inconvenience. Alekan tapped his talons, they were even more vicious looking that Hector's though not even half the size. He didn't look please.

“Here take this.” he said again holding it out to me, I wanted to refuse but he looked in no mood to be argued with and how bad could it really be?

“Cheers!” I said then downed it. My god that stuff was vile! It was somewhere in between something savagely alcoholic and eating poison ivy. I gagged, choked, and sputtered on the stuff, but in a moment it was already working.

I heard Aritha snicker from somewhere overhead at my antics, oh well.

“So tell me about this mirror.” Alekan said sitting down. I looked around for my pack and digging in it found my canteen. I tossed this to him.

“Here.” and as I talked he washed his face.

While I had been digging around in my bag I stole a look at Hector's prone form. He was breathing regularly eyes open but slightly glazed over, was he really paralyzed? He blinked suddenly. The old devil wasn't paralyzed, he was faking!

“Well Alekan,” I said sitting down on Hector's muzzle. I knew it was risky to try him like that but he was faking for a reason right? And I did take quite a evil amount of pleasure in trying him. “I'm not sure what you want to hear.” my attention back to Alekan.

The huge griffin ruffled his neck feathers to rid himself of the water.

“Anything you know about it.” he said calmly. I shrugged.

“Alright. The mirror is one of several cursed objects made by a sorcerer, a fallen high fae-I'm not sure, but he made these objects in such a way that each has the ability to magnify a specific magical ability. When used all together such a fae would be almost unstoppable.” I paused.

“Go on mage.” he said settling himself

“If one looks into the mirror it will magnify any and all destructive magical forces within that being, but it comes at a high price. The items are met to be used together and without the other items to combat it's negative effects, the mirror causes a slow but steady decline into a violent insanity.” I waited for Alekan to digest what I had said.

“Then you?” he looked at me out of the corner of his eye.

“I seem to be the only one who actually looked into the thing, and I have already begun to feel it's effects. A gnawing feeling at the back of my mind that is not me, or maybe it's a side of myself I don't know. It's a violent, cruel, merciless side that I'd rather not get acquainted with.”

(Ice- Itaeo is aware that Aritha was also effected by the mirror.:D)Sylver- I hope I didn't screw with your plans for the items to much I didn't see your post until after I posted.

That cheeky little reaper! How dare he! Hector is no bench for mere fae, when the act will stop, I will settle with him for tricking me like this! I really started to like him...

Aritha:

I listened intently to the gryphon's and grim reaper's conversation. Was he dumb? Or maybe he was just playing it for the gryphon. I thought I had made it obvious that I was insane and it was because of the mirror. And the reaper seemed a little smarter than niave.
I began climbing through the treetops, every once in a while going above them and getting a good veiw of the afternoon sky in all it's glory. I soon heard Kyler and the water Nymph talking below me, so I slowed down to a stop and listened. This could be fun. If they start talking about personal stories, maybe i can pick on them later. I thought to myself. I could almost feel my head straining to nod in agreement, with the Voice cackling in the back row.

OOC:

Blue, your posts completely contradicted mine. Hopefully we can figure out what actually happened, check your PM's.

Shadow, I was confused when I read your profile. I thought he could only use his magic to heal others "by taking the injury on himself." Since he was the one that was wounded, I figured his healing magic wouldn't work. I knew he was very tough, but since you mentioned him getting injured, I figured that he had reached the limits of his toughness. Alekan wouldn't necessarily know about his rapid healing abilities, so the post would still make sense in context.

Sylver: Alekan is a stranger from some pretty isolated mountains. All they've got are rumors; so Alekan is investigating to see what's going on.

Okay this thing is turning into a bit of a scramble. What with all the characters going off in different directions and contradicting one another. My advice is to just ditch all the tangled stuff. Maybe jump forward a few hours so that the group has had time to set off down the road.

Right now my character is a ways off from the others and he has one of the artifacts with him. Not the Mirror but one of the other ones. I suggest that one of your characters, maybe Hector, could sense it's magical signature and mistake it for the Mirror. That should bring Rhyder into the group and get us going in the right direction.

It had just been me for only a moment before the water nymph Rosalie caught up to me. I could feel Aritha above us listening in, so it had been a quiet walk. Now, somehow, we had all gotten past our differences and begun walking together. Of course, we were going south, well, south-ish. Aritha had put up a big enough fight so we went where she thought south was, which was wrong. But whatever. I really shouldn't have cared earlier, and so, I didn't. If they wanted to go the wrong way, fine. I was still stuck with them, of course. Mostly because I didn't have a horse... or anything else really. Luckly I had kept my weapons on my actually body, so they weren't lost. Other then that, I was alone. Hunter sat on my shoulder, enjoying himself as the group finally worked together. I looked around at the other members of our new-found group. Rosalie seemed to be the friendliest. Aritha and Hector were annoying everyone, including eachother, but somehow found it fun. Itaeo seemed to be the leader of the group, although so far nobody listened to him. And then, there was me. None of these people knew what I could do. I chuckled quietly to myself. Their loss.

"What are you laughing at?" Rosalie asked sweetly.

I shook my head. "Nothing."

(I hope this is okay! I tried to get everybody going, so I hope I did it right. If not, tell me and I can delete this post.)

I thought the whole situation to be a bit ridiculous, but decided to stop fighting with all the puny little things, I'll settle with them once I get my claws on the mirror, alongside any other relic I could get. The ring not far, for example.
I sneered- "I'm bored, anyone knows a good trip song"- my voice bitter.

It was a quiet walk, and Kyler seemed a little bit conscious about it. He began laughing quietly all of a sudden, that it caught me off gaurd.

"What are you laughing at?" I ask. Kyler shook his head. "Nothing," he replied. I sigh, I was hoping to begin a conversation with that. Kyler just looked at the trees ahead of us.

"Out of all of us, you seem to be the quietest," I say teasingly. Kyler looked at me with a skeptical look. He seemed a bit nervous as to what to say. I stop walking, while Kyler walked for a few seconds without noticing that I stopped. He turned around.

"Well?" I say with my hands on my hips.

"Well what?" Kyler asks, obviously confused. I roll my eyes.

"Well, why are you this quiet? Hunter seems to be more fun than you!" I said, pointing to the little dragon perched on his shoulder.

"Oh yeah! How about Silence? I muttered. I knew he could hear, but it seemed ruder to say it under my breath.

sylver- thanks for straightening us out! :D

Itaeo Haruon:

(this group hasen't met up with Rosalie, Aritha and Kylar right?)

I yawned, evening was closing in. Alekan flew quietly ahead lost in his own thoughts for the present. Hector had once again decided that walking, I would be to slow and once again grabbed me, this time though around my waist.

The two beasts had come to some miraculous agreement of sorts without speaking eariler, and here I thought we would have a regular battle, but no, Hector didn't even seem put out that I used him as a seat. They two of them simply took wing and away we went.

"Hey farmer!" Hector called back.

"Yeah?" I replied trying to get comfortable, a lost cause of sorts. he banked slowly to the right.

"Know and traveling songs?"

"No not really." Alekan slowed his flight to come abreast of us.

"Are you comfortable mage?" he asked, looking at me squirming almost lost amid Hectors claws., I shrugged.

"No not really, but I don't have much of a choice now do I." if he could have smiled I think he would have.

"No I guess not." he was about to fly away when Hector posed his question again.

"Do you know any traveling songs griffin?" In reply Alekan began to sing a softly baritone melody of words I had never heard before. He was almost singing absentmindedly, his eyes seeing something else than the forest below and the mountains far ahead, something far away and long ago. I tried to look up at Hector.

"What's he singing?" I asked hector almost spellbound, it was beautiful yet fraught with sadness.

"It's the Griffin speech. I don't understand the words though." he said, paused then added. "Not what I had in mind for a traveling song though." I rolled my eyes, dragons are not the sentimental sort.

(Griffin- I hope I did a better job with Alekan this time around.)

"Well, why are you this quiet? Hunter seems to be more fun than you!" Rosalie said as she pointed to my friend.

I looked over to Hunter. "Ya, he probably is."

"But why?" she demanded. Some of the other members of the group stopped to watch us, but they didn't say anything.

I shrugged. "I'd rather not talk about it."

"You'd rather not talk at all," she pointed out.

I waited for a moment to respond. "Because there is nothing to say." I turned, but didn't continue to walk.

"There is alot to say!" Rosalie said, getting annoyed that I had put a brick wall inbetween us.

I was getting even more annoyed. "Like what?" I demanded, trying to keep my temper down. Why couldn't she just stop? It wasn't her buisness why I was quiet, or why I am the way I am.

"Like why you are chasing the mirror, or why you are here, in the middle of the woods."

"Like I said, I'd rather not talk about it."

"But why?" she continued.

I lost it. I turned around, my hands clenched. "Because I don't want to shout to the whole world about how that cursed mirror has ruined my life, about how it took away the only person in my world who I cared about. And how it was all my fault!" Rosalie's face changed to shock. I took in a deep breathe, remembering the last time I had seen her, seen my one and only love. She had tried to kill me. The mirror had changed her, and she hadn't recognized me. I closed my eyes, blocking the tears that were threatening to spill over.

"I... I'm so sorry," Rosalie said quietly.

I shook my head. "No, I'm sorry."

(So, I kinda got carried away again :D sorry! And I hope I did Rosalie okay.)
