Literary Journal Cover

I didn't start out drawing it as an entry, but then thought, "What the heck?" and inserted some text. So... yeah. It was an impulse thing. Sorry I didn't put "Edited by Nathaniel Lee Caldwell" on it, but it's a little late. If by some freak chance this actually wins, then I'll be glad to add it, but for now I'll leave it be. Sorry!

This is definitely one of the best entries I've seen yet. I like how you put the

Take a Risk, grab hold of inspiration

part. Did you find that somewhere or make it up yourself. Also the part where the hand is grabbing the wings( that goes back to the quoted part) is really neat, but where did the band-aid come from(unless its showing the risks part)?

Really, really neat.

I just made that up. It was seriously just an improv thing, and mostly came of me just playing around with the picture. Yes, the band-aid serves to both represent the risk part and cover up a big mistake I made. It was either the band-aid or a big blue patch O.o

Don't worry about the "Edited By" part. We've done that in past years and have had a practice of putting each editor's name on it. But, we've never had more than two editors. This year, we had 5 (6 if you include me). So this time around, we won't be putting the "Edited By" on the cover.

I loved this. You're really talented. Keep up the good work!

I really like this. I like this more than I like my cover and in a very non-arrogant way, I like my cover very much. I think this would be absolutely perfect as a cover.

The only thing I don't really like about this is the skull you placed in lieu of the i's dot. It feels really out of place among everything else--even the word "Writers" itself. Even if you keep a design in place of the dot, I think something not skeletal would be best!

Other than that, I love it!

Wow, you are a very talented artist, it is very beautiful. I'm jealous of anyone who can put their thoughts not only into words on a piece of paper, but art as well. Bravo!

Woah, you used a lot of different media for this! The hand, pencil, and 'Writers' all looks like it was hand drawn. The rest of the font, the light on the pencil tip, and the paintish coloring over the pen all looks computer generated. But I can't figure out how you did the wings! It looks like pastel, but the style is so much different than how the hand was drawn that I wonder if you drew it or not. I'm really curious on that one.

This is my favorite entry so far because it is so creative. The band-aid gives it a great touch and feels very meaningful.

No one mentioned this yet, but what are the black lines coming out of the hand? Are they a part of the wing? It almost looks like trees.
I'd be picky and say the hand was quite orange, but I can't draw hands and so I have no room to talk x)

Wow, this is awesome.

The only thing is that it's a little hard to see what the hand is holding besides the Unicorn horn and the rainbow wings... What is it? Part of the wings? A dry little black bush? A hair scrunchie?

Other than that, great job

The hand and the pencil/pen was hand drawn. The wings and the coloring was chalk pastel with the slightest bit of computer touch-up. All the text is computer generated.

Interesting! Well I have to say that the wings are really beautiful. Very graceful lines there.
