As much as I hated to show myself, I just had to so I wouldn't be rude. I leaned forward and whispered, "All you have to do is look for the door with a teardrop on it. That's where I hang. Little word of warning: I don't really like surprises, especially spooky ones when I'm not out pulling pranks."
At first Luna was about to ask what did I meant, but I already vanished before she opened her mouth. My cover was blown, thanks to my politeness. Because Luna saw me, chances are someone else might've snitched. Already the facalty thought I was meditating in my room and won't be out for another two days. If someone found out I was out looking for prank targets, I might end up in more trouble than I already was.
Thankfully I knew my way around the place. All I had to do was slip into my room by the window and resume my meditating position.
Look down and show some mercy if you can.
Look down, look down, upon your fellow man.

Her parents were stupid. One, that she needed to come to this stupid school in the first place, Two, to enroll her in the middle of the year.
She picked up the bags her father had dumped on the ground, and trooped up toward the dorm. Not noticing the trees or anything. She only noticed the guy standing beyond the gate.

Nila
Getting to the school had been the easy part. Talking herself into the school was the hard part. The woman, Jessica was acting like she didn't believe Nila had been sent by her parents. which, she hadn't, but this woman didn't need to know that. Nila shifted from one foot to another, and glanced out the window. A girl was walking down the pavement, then stopped in her tracks. Nila let her mind reach out to her, and plucked a memory from the girls mind. A blur of color, a guy, who was very very good looking, standing and shouting at the same girl. He hit the girl. Nila dropped the memory. She didn't want to see it.

Nyoka Okay, since nobody mentioned me, I'll just bring myself in here. ;)

My head shook as I was slumped over my bed, depressed, again. I felt quite joyous inside- I was starting over, a new life! Completely new!

And yet, my body wouldn't listen. I mean, yea, when I asked it to move it would, but my body seemed all... depressed. And, whenever I said something, I sounded depressed as well. It was like my brain held my body on a leash, but couldn't control it fully.

With a snap! I jolted. I had regained control of my body again.

I shook my head wildly, before parading out the door. In the distance, I could see someone walking towards me. Happy I was out of my trance, I skipped to her.

"Hi! I'm Nyoka. How'd you do?" I asked, my tiny southern accent showing.

She looked me up and down. "I'm Cat." She replied. I shook her hand kindly.

Something was... off. I knew it was- my neck was itchy. And when it's itchy, something's wrong.

And I could see what it was.

"Omigod!" I screamed, backing up a few steps.

"What?!" Cat cried.

"F-F-FIRE!" I screamed, pointing to the ranging inferno behind her. She screamed.

*Note: This isn't a real fire. It's an illusion, but no one knows it is. Tee hee, have fun freaking out!*

David Coombs

I glanced up into the fierce glare of the morning's sun and glanced across the courtyard. Outside of the research lab some trainer bolted out, all slicked hair, black heels, and a lab coat. My mouth twisted in vague disgust. I was beginning to hate these people. (As if I didn't like hospital-esque staff enough, judgmental-- Eh.)

The lady looked around and finally latched onto me with dark eyes. "Ashe, Cataluna, David. You three come here this instant. You need to work with your abilities today..."

I shivered. Didn't they realize that my abilities sort of were, I don't know, destructive and pointless? And wasn't I here to learn to control them?

People. They're just stupid, I guess. Same with me. Everybody's just stuck in their heads, not giving a rat's rear about anybody else.

Not that I'd like it any other way.

I pushed myself up from the root-covered ground I'd been sitting on, using the tree behind me for leverage, and I finally move across the green--following the trainer-lady wherever she felt like taking me today.

I managed to end up in some rather large room, all sorts of 'experiments' blasting and sparking and sending people giggling like whack-os around me. I hunched my shoulders in response, warily looking around for any sudden death threats, more or less.

I hear people talking and take time to memorize faces with names, best I can. I was always horrible with names. But Ashe and Cataluna? What the frick was I, anyway? Who named their kids that?

Oh well.

I looked around and waited to see what would happen next; waited for my instructions.

(@Ladyofthedeathlyroses: It's fine. :) ...Just hope I'm not too late posting.)

Allora

I looked up from the screen of my laptop and marveled at my privacy. I had been up in my room for a week, living off of a stolen bag of Doritos and tap water from the bathroom. I guess the trainers had given up on me. My insistance on not participating in training had finally prevailed. Just because Jen had thought this school would be good for me, didn't mean I had to like that. I had my powers under control, no matter what anyone else thought.

Suddenly, there was a banging on my door. Crap, I must have jinxed myself. "Allora Mae, get out here this instant! You are to report to training in five minutes or you will be severly punished." The other Jennifer, one of the trainers, screamed through the door.

Here goes nothing, I thought privately. It was my first attempt at a diliberatly sent thought since I came here. "NO," I hoped it was clear and defiant.

Apparantly, it was because my door flew open. Jennifer was flanked by two large men in suits. It was a little too "Men in Black" for my taste.

The two men rushed forward and grabbed me by the arms.

"Seriously guys, isn't this a little too cliche? I mean come on, be original" I critisized out loud.

I was half dragged by the two men all the way down to a training room. The sat me down in a chair and stood silently behind me.

"Allora this cannot go on. You have to participate and go to school eventually." Jen whined.

"You can make me go to school but you can't make me use my powers." I said for lack of a better word. I put up my mental wall, assuming that they had some lackey that could dig around in my mind and make me do what they wanted.

"Yes, but you will have to come out eventually, and when you do, we will be here. And don't even think about going home, Brutus and Doc will escort you everywhere until you cooperate.

Enraged, I jumped to my feet, flung the chair to the floor, and stormed out, still flanked by Brutus and Doc.

*Note due to Ashe's paranoia his eyes are always a leopard's eyes so no one can sneak up on him. Leopards have the ability to see heat images so invisibility wouldn't fool him. Although he's happy to go along with the ruse.*

Ashe Breaker:

Ashe stared at the researchers like they had lost their collective minds, and maybe they had. Once she had dragged him down from the roof Jessica had taken him to one of the larger research rooms where they ran more than one experiment at a time. The idiots wanted him to shift in front of all these people, what's more they wanted him to shift into a lion."God It's like they're just screaming 'Eat Me!' " Ashe thought in agitation. "Besides, what am I a three ring circus?"

Jessica was staring at him, tapping the clipboard in her arms as she waited for results. Out of the corner of his eye he saw Arthur slip out the door and Cat follow him. Curiosity spiked, none of the interesting, or difficult depending on your point of view, kids were in the room something must be up at the dorm.

As Jessica started to snap again Ashe gave her a lopsided smile. "Can I get that writing Doc?" He asked, borrowing a page from his father's book.

"Writing?" Jessica asked blinking in confusion.

Ashe rolled his eyes in exasperation. "You want me to take on the claws, fangs, senses, and mind of a lion. In a room full of people and strange lights and sounds. I don't want to be held liable if I get startled and, ya know, rip that pretty face of yours off with my claws."

Jessica blanched and took a step back but the Ice Queen was still holding her ground. Ashe decided to give it one more push before leaving. He shrugged exageratedly. "I mean large predators tend to view humans as a snack that runs. But if you're willing to take the risk..."

He trailed off and glanced slyly at Jessica out of the corner of his eye. She swallowed audibly before backing off. "We'll need to have a more controlled enviorment before testing your abilities Ashe. You can return to the dormitory if you wish." The affect of her icy tone was ruined by the fact that she kept backing away from him.

Ashe hid a grin and left the building, jogging across the square towards the dorm. Behind him someone shouted to wait up and he glanced behind him to see one of the newer kids. David had on a smirk very similar to his own as he caught up with him.

"What did you overhear my excuse to get out of their and use something similar?" Ashe asked.

Once again, the word "training" meant it's time to play. I went invisible to sneak into the labs, shyly following Luna then turning left to stay away from Asher. His leopard eyes would've spotted me if I didn't turn. Honestly I had no bad blood for Ashe, but when I heard someone talk about the Salem witch trials, I froze Ashe by accident. That was two weeks ago, but I knew for a fact Ashe was not someone to forgive a half-witch like me.
In my hand was a stinkbomb potion that would probably give me and Luna five days at best to learn more about each other. All I had to do was hide the potion somewhere so it could break on contact and stink up the place. Setting the potion in the air vent, I made a quick escape to my room and returned to visibilty in meditation. In my head, I started the countdown from twenty to one.

I chuckle and shake my head, as I catch up with my fellow--institute-mate? I don't even know what we were technically called. Anyway.

"Nah," I pause, "well, I did sort of, I suppose. I set my 'helper' feeling like she had her bum seated on a hotplate, but otherwise--" I shrug. "Anyway, cats? That's cool...I guess. My sis was allergic, though. 'Course, that was to house cats."

I realize I'm talking to much so I shut myself up. I take a few steps back and just put my hands into the pockets of my hoodie, unsure once more. I'd been kicked out of training, told to 'cool off' (literally, I presume), so I was back out in the courtyard with this Ashe guy I didn't really know.

In other words: Awkward.

So I lift a magazine out of my back pocket and set about ripping small pieces off and burning them, so none of the trainers will be sic'ed on my rear while I'm waiting on cat-dude to talk. They'll probably think it 'suitable reworking of anger' or some such shiz.

"Oh my God!" Cried Cat. "We have to tell some one!"

I shook myself a bit, running to catch up with her. "The fire alarm!" I screamed.

"Yea!" She replied, slamming the small red elver down.

Sirens. Loads of 'em blasted through the area. People rushed out of dorms. We just ran until we ended up near the other kids like us.

"Fire! Fire!" I screamed crazily.

Some kids screamed when they saw it. Some laughed. I didn't know what to do.

"This way!" Cried one of the kids. No one else had a better idea, so we followed.

I heard the fire alarm go off. That made no sense. My stinkbomb potion wasn't supposed to blow for another ten seconds. Going quickly invisible, I ran out of my room and tried to stay far from the crowd as possible. I pried mind after mind until I found Luna's. Someone was setting the place ablaze! I bumped into David and tripped, suddenly turning visible and causing the water pipes to burst. At this, I paniced. I knew I was aquakinetic, but the problem was I didn't know how to control it the right way. Every time I trip and fall, water starts coming in and smacking me mockingly with its wetness. I didn't even know how to swim since I almost drowned in my grandmother's private pool. I said nervously, "Oops. I hope everyone else can swim, because I think I caused a leak."

*Just like to point out that Ashe and Arthur's elemental powers are complimentary. Water conducts and strengthens electricity.*

Ashe Breaker:

Ashe left David to himself. Seemed like the guy preferred being alone. As he glanced towards the building, idly wondering if he could get back on the roof, a group of kids ran out of the building screaming and yelling "Fire!". As he took a step towards the dorm Arthur and David crashed to the ground in front of him. When gouts of water erupted from the ground Ashe jumped away from the soaked pair.

Ashe eyed the geysurs warily, he did NOT need the hassle of the white coats learning he had a second power. Too much water could easily set off a spark. Luckily his avoidance of the water could be easily explained for anyone watching. When Arthur and David pulled themselves up and out of the widening pool of water Ashe jogged over to them.

"Maybe we should help." Ashe said jerking his head to the dorm, where flickers of flame were spreading up the walls.

David rolled his eyes. "Yes because sane people always run towards the fire."

Ashe shrugged and walked towards the door, he glanced back over his shoulder to see the other two following him and flashed a cocky grin. "I never said I was sane. Just that we should go help."

*Let's say that the illusion is starting to expand. And just to check is the illusion of fire real enough to cause actual burns, or is it just the appearance of flames?*

*@Sylvr: It can expand, yes, but it isn't real. It's just like a 3-D picture. And, soon enough, Nyoka will inexplicably get exhausted and the fire will dissipate.*

*@ Dragonette: I'll bring you in. My Character accidentally created an illusion of fire, and everyone's freaking out. The people who are in the SB are going to go and try to put out the 'flames'.*

Nyoka

I screamed. Why did things like this always have to happen to me?!

"But maybe, with all of our powers, we can put out the inferno." Theorized one girl I hadn't ever seen. "Naomi." She replied. "I just got here."

Some of us nodded; others, like me, just said 'hello' or 'hi'.

The alarm blaring, was walked briskly towards the orange-yellow mass. Every step was laborious for me; eventually, I was leaning on that girl, Naomi.

"What's wrong with you? Weak around fire?" Someone asked.

I shook my head. "I'm just... so... tired." I replied, huffing and puffing.

"Halt! Turn around! Get away from the fire!" Cried an adult who had a lab coat on, blocking the path.

"We really need to get past." Pleaded someone.

"Isn't it odd that there isn't any heat around the fire?" Whispered Naomi. I nodded, still panting.

The last thing I saw was the fire just disappearing. Gone. But I couldn't see people's reactions; I had already fainted.
