Cthulu and dreg, both of you need to relax. If you don't like this site, that's fine: move along.

So, It's 'shut up or get out' huh?
Further I never said I didn't like this site neither did Dregy.

Cthulu and dreg, both of you need to relax.

About what? You personally have implied that I'm a liar and he's whiny. We both have been insulted by others [with such choice words as 'pretentious' 'ignorance' and 'trolls']
[And It's cthuLHU]

I will stand up for myself and my ideas, here and any where else.

Ego, What gives you the right to personaly insult anuther member?

The fact that I'm a 24 year old member of this site who happens to like video games. Read the text I quoted in the post. It's a really ignorant thing to say. If he'd replaced "20 year olds," with "Black People," it'd be a really racist comment. I figured I'd point that out.

We went over that, the numbers say differently.

Your numbers do. Mine don't. I provided firm evidence and numbers to to back mine up. You provided anecdotal evidence with no firm numbers to back it up. You used terminology like "In my experience, you can disregard 1.5 reviews on any given thread as unhelpful." With that logic, I could simply rebut with "In my experience, every review on YWS is worth two of a review on any other site, therefore our review rate is twice as high as any others. This is a so-called "anicdotal falicy" which you mentioned earlier (which is actually an anecdotal fallacy, mind you).

It's practly impossably to find a reviewer for action adventur type storys, or lyrics [and likly more ariea

You have a very good point here. Looking for reviewers to critique a specific genre can be rather difficult. Most people will put their preferred genres in their first post, but who wants to go through tons of threads to find one? Perhaps a reviewer search engine would be worth looking into.

PS: I review Action/Adventure if you personally need anything reviewed. I empathize with your Action/Adventure woes.
Got YWS? I do.

Addressing Cthulhu and Dreg,

Rather then attacking Nate for trying to calm down this rather pointless discussion, think for a moment. If you have so many issues with this site, go find one that suits your ideals, or make your own. Rather then making some unsturdy argument against a teenage writer's site of all things to argue about. If you want to stay, calm down, we aren't going to change for you overnight.

You want more reviews? More attention? Make yourself prolific on this site through reviewing a lot and posting good work that you worked hard on. Talk to members, be nice etc. These are the ways you get the attention you seek. If you can't - request reviews, you don't seem pathetic doing so. Everyone is here is learning, improving and helping one another BUT we can only extend ourselves so far. You gotta go get the attention you're looking for, that clearly isn't satisfied by some good reviews, it's not going to come to you.

Okay, whoever this Nate guy is, I can tell you from what he wrote that he wasn't trying to calm anyone down he was only generating more accusations on my behalf claiming that I'm some kind of whiney a-hole who only cares about reviews that I get...which I will state again I was talking about older members who've been on here longer than I have and have no comments at all.
Also, he made a bold statement claiming that no one hardly goes into the lyric section. That's just absurd to assume such a thing when there is no possible way he could know what every person who joins this site would respond to. It's like he's saying "Oh, people who join this site won't like song lyrics that much. They will just go to other categories". Also, he said that my stuff belongs in the "poem" section. That's even more absurd because the stuff I post is only lyrics and anyone who looks at my stuff would clearly see that they're lyrics.

About this being a pointless argument....well it can't be pointless to you if you choose to immerse yourself into. If it was so pointless no one would respond. Therefore that makes you enjoy this debate very much if you choose to take some time out of your busy day to respond to something you say is pointless. Also, you must love this debate so much that you would include it in the comment you made on one of my post. I still find it hillarious though, because it was hard to take it seriously, because you have a gripe with me. That usually tends to lower the value of the review.

If you want to stay, calm down, we aren't going to change for you overnight.

We know that people are not going to change for us overnight. That's really juvenile to say such a thing.

You want more reviews? More attention? ...You gotta go get the attention you're looking for, that clearly isn't satisfied by some good reviews, it's not going to come to you.

So now you're saying that we will only get bad reviews...like you speak for everyone or something...lol. that's funny. We don't expect to get positive reviews all of the time.

This is to Ego:
Interesting name by the way

Your comment about me being ignorant and generalizing 20 year olds.

First off, I didn't say all 20 year olds were losers who were unemployed and stayed at home playing video games. So that isn't a generalization. It's only a generalization if I were to say that ALL or half of 20 year olds were like that. I just said a lot. It also isn't ignorant either and you know that. I personally know a lot of 20+ year olds who do not have jobs, who still live at home and still waste away playing video games...there is no case of ignorance within my statement.
The fact that you were offended by that illustrates that you are perhaps one of those losers.

Ego building is difficult for someone your age.
But you're almost getting the hang of it.
You just needed to better evaluate what I said before you came up with that pseudo-intellectual remark

I would like to point out that the person complaining about not getting enough reviews has a dismally sad review count, and does not actually post enough reviews per literary work on the site.

Just throwing that out there.

So tell me, dredymayfield, what do you do with your time other than review on a website that is so very important?
Life is for living.

So what you're saying is that you didn't imply anything, is that it? Sounds scarily similar to our earlier predicament, where I mentioned something about people interested in a certain quantity of reviews being interested only in fame...and CthulHU took it as a personal attack.

Just sayin'. Not everything is a personal attack. And certainly not against me, seeing as I go to University and am the Marketing Director of a $2mil a year restaurant.

See what I did there?

;)

This site isn't imporant
This is just a place for writers to post, review and get reviewed.
Although, not many reviews are being issued to many deserving writers.
(And I am not talking about myself)

To Ego:

Sorry, it is a personal attack when you say someone is ignorant
and how do I know you work for a 2 million a year or whatever restaurant. Frankly, I don't care. Although, if you truely were employed why would you be so offended by my comment...how interesting

Wow.
I've been following this thread since it first came out, and have watched as both sides have moved away from the central issue to nitpick each others replies. What started out as a good natured debate has descended into people taking offense at everything the otherside says.
Personally, I would like more reviews, but I'm not complaining. I do not review every work I read, and I'm sure many of youdo the same. That is not a generalization, some of you may love reviewing. So stop hating.

dregy. You know Nate is the founder of the site, right? That it wouldn't exist without him?

There are flaws in the system. We are trying to fix them. Just.... nevermind.
