I've been following this thread since it first came out, and have watched as both sides have moved away from the central issue to nitpick each others replies. What started out as a good natured debate has descended into people taking offense at everything the otherside says.
I feel compelled to point out that it was direct orders from the mod's that stoped the reasoned discussion.

Your numbers do. Mine don't. I provided firm evidence and numbers to to back mine up. You provided anecdotal evidence with no firm numbers to back it up. You used terminology like "In my experience, you can disregard 1.5 reviews on any given thread as unhelpful." With that logic, I could simply rebut with "In my experience, every review on YWS is worth two of a review on any other site, therefore our review rate is twice as high as any others. This is a so-called "anicdotal falicy" which you mentioned earlier (which is actually an anecdotal fallacy, mind you).

My terminology and methods are identical to those used in all major polls, including the U.S census. 'In my experience' is simply a rhetorical device to logically introduce the number I found by surveying [That means opening and reading] a goodly sampling of threads.
Your numbers were raw data, they still needed to be 'processed', Thair are two possible reasons for that, Either you were 'lying with statistics and deliberately twisting the numbers [Something I don't believe] or lacked the knowledge of what you mathematically should have done.
Also remember when you said "Also, I'm no master statistician, so if you see anything wrong with my logic, let me know. " Well statistics and their proper application are my specialty, So in so much as anyone my age can be I am a 'Master statistician'.

-Cthulhu out, for the last time.
