Have you ever wondered what's in a simple word?
Nothing more than letters joint in a random chord...
Words come and go, they're constantly blowing in the wind.
Even placed on paper, they end up in a bin.

Why bother telling you how much you mean to me?
When you are more than letters can and will ever be.
So do not waste your time with words such as "I love you".
Instead, make me feel deep inside that your love is true.

Do not say anything, because this silence is of gold,
It is beyond all words, it tells me the untold.
And in the end, those things that are never said, nor heard
Carry more lucid meaning than any empty word...

Bravo, writerwithacause! At first glance, I didn't realize this was a love poem! I had to get down to the 2nd stanza for that realization! And speaking of the 2nd stanza, it's particularly my favorite part out of this piece!

"Why bother telling you how much you mean to me?
When you are more than letters can and will ever be."

So beautiful, indeed!

I too enjoyed your rhyme scheme, and you've a fine conclusion as well! I have no complaints at all!

Keep writing! :)

Yay! Awesome! Adorable!

Third stanza: love it. I wish I could attain your level of awesomeness in the field of poetic language. Half the time I end up writing prose that rhymes, but I love your way of using and placing words. Maybe I'll be like you when I grow up. :)

Even being a word-liking person, I have to agree with the sentiment, too...

It is true. Why say words. I think you have to post that on your wall. Good inspiration.

I apologize for my deficiencies. Naturally, I am unfit to critique anything in an apt manner or air. Nonetheless, I take great pride in who I am (for what else do I have but that?). A dear and unloving friend had once told me language was an attribute of the gods and something only Man has been blessed with. I could not help but be skeptical to such empty words; nonetheless, the words spoken (not hers) was intriguing.

So often, wisdom is found in conflicting opposites reaching the all-so-fantastic dynamic equilibrium.

Indeed, what are words worth? What value does "I love you" hold? It holds no value, no meaning; yet, it means everything, does it not?

I might be very well indulging myself with these various trifles, but please take no offense for I hold a sincere admiration for your careful, reserved skepticism for words (how else could I phrase it?).

Thank you for the fine reading.
Oh... my sick, sick soul!

A wonderful poem that brings forth the fact that love is an emotion that words can't convey. Short and simple but with a deeper meaning.

Dear Writer,
what a quaint sonnet! I feel like you can do better than this though. Actually was curious because I once had to write an essay on what is a word as part of my entrance exam for Oxford, not kidding, they actually ask that.
As far as sonnet writing your twist comes too close to the beginning, you might want to see if you can delay it a little. Maybe switch second and third quatrains?
Again the whole, my love is so strong it doesn't fit into words thing is cute, but rather overdone. Maybe I just consider that the only things that are tryly unsayable are linked to fear or horror but not love...
Hope this helps,
Best;
Velvet
