My friend showed me a story she liked on here a looong time ago.. we were both about ten. Somehow, the site name stuck in my mind, and last year I decided to re-check it out. Obviously, I was sucked into the awesomeness.
Honey, you should see me in a crown.

Google is the most amazing search engine ever. ^^

I was looking for sites to improve my writing, so I typed in something like 'young writers' sites' and your name was FIRST (I'm pretty sure) in a list of 40 total young writers' websites. This place is awesome! :D

I'm incredibly late in posting here, aren't I?

Well, here goes. On another forum I was a member of way back when, they had a section for submitting your writing. One of these boards was for writing discussion. I clicked one day and saw a rant about how there were tons and tons of works with no comments. One of the comments that caught my eye was, "On Young Writers Society, they have a 2:1 ratio so a lot of stuff gets reviewed". That sounded AWESOME to me, so I typed in the site address and joined.

The way I found it is quite long and funny:
When I was nine my mum said "tamara, when you're 11 you can join the poetry society". I couldn't wait until I was 11. then when I did turn 11 I Thought my mum said young writers society. Then I joined this website thinking it was about poetry haha. I am uber glad I found out about this site, it's amazing!!!
Someone told me there's a girl out there, with love in her eyes and flowers, in her hair.

I save all my old magazines, and last week I was browsing through the Writer's Digest 2009 list of 100 websites. YWS caught my eye. It turns out that when I first bought the issue I'd noticed and circled it, but never visited.
And so I decided to.
And...here I am. :P

One of my real life friends visits this site, and she was always babbling about how amazing it is, and how I needed to join. Finally, I did.

My best friend told me about a different site (I can't remember). Then I forgot the exact site and instead found the YWS. The best mistake I ever made!!

LOVE YOU YWS

About ten years ago, I was a member of The Young Writers' Club, the spiritual predecessor of this one. Life caused me to only stay a couple years.

Around January 2010, I started wondering where all the TYWC people I had talked to/worked with/read/been critiqued by had gone. Started poking around and found that about 5 or 6 or 7 of my closer fellow authors had joined this site. Unfortunately, none of them have been here since 2006 or 2007.

Oh well! I'm still enjoying my time here and reading all new work from all new people.

I was googling writing tips on my grandma's computer and found the site. I read some tips then looked around the site and thought it was cool. So I wrote down the site name and later registered on my computer.
You're new? Great seas! Why haven't you gone to the Buddy System yet?

It's so fun to read on how other people found this sight!

I found it when I accidently clicked the link to YWS instead of the one so I could order Pizza Hut.
