So today, I was at my house, and I was very bored. And I like to take pictures. So I took my camera and I took pictures of my different pets. The first four are pictures of pets at my house, and the last one I took last spring. I hope you like them!

hi tyler.

The first two are REALLY BIG. you should resize them, we can't see them. I tried to look at the second though, and it was really blurry. Try using a better camera or zooming out.

The third, millie, is good. Try blurring the background a bit more though, so she stands out. She does, but your eyes still wander to the view out the window.

As for the sillouette, very good. There's nothing in the background to distract, but it's a little bland. A cat, and that's it. Try a cat with a sunset as the background.

And the fabled aquarium. Wow. WOW. It's great, but try amping up the color next time. It would look really good in this picture!

Hi! I agree with funky. The first two pictures are REALLY BIG! When you can't find the fish, you know your in trouble. I like the picture of Millie. It's very rustic and cute. However, if I were you I'd pull up the blinds. As the only white things in the picture the little danglies distracted me. I LOVE Millie's Silhouette. The only thing I'd put in the background who'd be birds. (If you could control them, that is. ) You got the fishies at the right moment. They look great! I agree with Funkymomo. Amp up the color and bring those fishies to life!

Anyway, it's been a pleasure! Bored photo's are fun, aren't they? Pet's are awesome!

Big animal lover here, so i loved these photo's.
I know it's already been talked about (the size of the first two) so i wont make a big fuss over it.

I think that the first picture of Millie is really good, i like the effect you used and the background of the house makes it really cool. When i see it i think " ooh! Cute house cat!"

The second one is also good, i love pictures like this

And i absolutely adore this picture! The fish look so cool. It was really good timing on your part.

Overall if you watch your sizing and continue what your doing, the pictures will look amazing

Okay, now onto the actual images:

The first two didn't impress me as much as the rest.
1) This is kind of out of focus, and could really benefit from different positioning. Right now, there really isn't any framing, and so the photo really isn't too interesting. There's something called the rule-of-thirds that could really help in the future. Here's a link describing it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rule_of_thirds

2. This one really doesn't have a focus point-- I know it's supposed to be the fish, but it looks more like the peace sign than anything else. The fish is difficult to see and again, this photo is kind of out of focus. I would recommend getting up closer and more personal-- try to get the fish's shape, maybe the face, the fin... give a new perspective and make sure that you really get the fish.

Okay, now onto the part that I'll actually enjoy writing.

3. This is great! You have really nice positioning and framing, and the tones you've captured with your sepia processing are excellent. Great focus and emotional tones running through this. You have great lines that create a really nice background and frame Millie very naturally. Wonderful shot.

4. Another fabulous shot-- I think that you could crop this so that Millie's face only reaches 1/3 of the way through the shot and it would really change the feel of the shot. I really like the contrast, and you have nice focus. Great job overall.

5. Great capture, but I don't know how this is artistically. Good job on getting it through aquarium glass though; that can be really difficult.

Overall, I'd work on your colors a bit (maybe a simple editing program, that comes with Windows or something), try to play with some positioning, and work on your framing. You definitely have a great deal of potential and some blooming talent; those photos of Millie are excellent.

Hey there, DaSpetsnaz (did I spell that right?), sorry it took me a little while to get to this. Other duties called.


Mica: I actually really like this picture. I like the way the focus stays on the dog and that this is such a tight, crisp picture. That’s very cool. Also, your dog is adorable. *is a definite dog person*

Tonu: This one actually really confuses me because I don’t see the fish…and even so there isn’t much to focus on in this picture.

Millie: Okay, I love the way you captured your kitties figure and shape, as well as creating balance with kitty way over on the right. However, the sepia tones in this seem very very yellow. Too yellow, especially where the window is at. I always remind people to be careful when they tweak with pictures and their colors because sometimes it can go REALLY bad. Here it isn’t that terrible by yellow can be an obnoxious color to look at when it’s as noticeable as it is on the left side of the picture because of the big blank white of the house.

Silhouette: I’m not sure if I like this one or not. I like the silhouette, but the background is rather unimpressive. And background is usually a key part of silhouettes if you ask me. You focus on the silhouettes but at the same time, you want to have a striking background to look at too. And this kind of lacks that. Plus the cat feels cut off at the bottom wrong. I’d have loved to see an awesome tail thing going on.

Aquatic Love: I love that you managed to catch two fish swappin’ spit but I think this would have been even cooler is it was zoomed in a bit further or pulled out so that their whole bodies were showing or just their faces, but the same amount on each of them.

All in all, not bad.

I just love animals whatever it be so this title of yours dragged to your work and when i saw them i was amazed. I loved every single one of them.

1. You dog is very cute but the photograph was OK but not as amazing as the rest. But i like the dog.

2.I too have an aquarium of my own and i love blue so i like this too. But here again this is not so amazing. The fish is not much visible as it is at the bottom and the other things in the frame really disturb the view.

3.I love cats more than any other animal and i like this too.

4.This is the best of all. I love it. The silhouette is even better than the real color image of your cat. Amazing. Marvelous.

5.This is also a very good photograph but i think it is a bit out of focus. At first i thought that it was a mirror reflection but then as you mentioned i saw the background then i came to know that there were no mirrors involved.

Wow, I'm really impressed with these!
I think that your picture of Mica could've been a little more flattering. She's a beautiful dog, and all we get to see of her is an off-centered side view. I would've liked to seen more of her, or at least both of her eyes looking at the camera. Plus, the pic was a little blurry.

I love your sister's fish bowl! It has a ton of personality from her necklace and the green bamboo and well everything just looks so colorful and wonderful. Maybe it's a bit blurry and out of focus, but it can be hard if you don't have a super professional camera.

Wow, the photo of Millie is really sharp. I like it. The cat even seems to be having an expression, and she's not fidgeting or staring at the camera, which is always a problem I have when trying to photograph my cats The only issue I have is that the colors are a bit too boring, and I don't feel like staring at the picture for very long because of it.

The silhouette is my favorite!!! Perfect, really. I absolutely love it

Great capture with the fish, the colors are amazing, only maybe you could fool around with editing it so that the colors pop a little more? It would've looked better if you got a little closer to the fish and got them even more centered, but I know that's hard so I have no room to talk! Excellent job!

I actually like the non-silhouette picture of Millie best. She's a cool cat, she is!

I think these photos could probably do with some more contrast, especially the last one. The colors don't really pop there! I fiddled around with Photoshop a little and I came up with this:



Anyway, don't be afraid to edit your photos a little to make the colors pop, all right? Your camera seems to be a little dull at times!

Hi, Da!

So, these pictures are all incredibly cute -- there's something about me that adores animals, especially dogs. Although, when they're you're pets, they can start to get on your nerves on occasion! But nevertheless, I like these. A few individual comments:

#1 -- This is so cute, and I love that you caught her (or he) with the chew toy. You have good angles, and the lighting is nice. You also seem to have a clear focus, and I can tell that this isn't something that you just snapped in two seconds. I do wish, however, that we could see more of the chew toy. I didn't even notice it until the second or third time that I looked at it, and I feel like it should be a big part of this picture, but it just isn't and seem to take up space and detract from the focus. I would either back up or tilt your camera more so you get all of the chew toy in there. There's also the rule of thirds in photography, where your focus should take up about 1/3 of the image. Right now you're too close up.

#2 -- With this picture, I like the colors and the angles, but there just seems to be too much in. You've got the bamboo sprig, the jar, the rocks, the table, the necklace, and all of that really detracts me from the photo since I can't tell where the focus is supposed to be. It took me a while, actually, to find where the fish was supposed to be. When taking similar pictures, try taking out the stuff you don't need or placing it in ways that enhance the mood of the picture. As I said earlier, though, I am absolutely in love with the colors here. Was this photo shopped at all?

#3 -- Very adorable! I love your use of sepia tone, and I like how the cat isn't gazing directly at the camera. She looks very majestic, and I also like how you start off very clear and eventually fade to blur -- my only complaint is that feels a tad overdone, like the focus is forcing us to look at the cat. I would try to make to the focus/blur a bit more subtle, so we're naturally drawn to the parts of the image you want us to look at as opposed to us looking at it because that's where it's clearer.

#4 -- This is a very neat image, and I like how we can't tell what the background is, if it's the sky or a wall. Was this one edited at all? It just feel so formulaic, and there's nothing interesting except for the way you captured the silhouette almost perfectly. What would be cool is if maybe you could take a more titled angle and show us simply a paw or a whisker of the real cat and focus on the silhouette.

#5 -- Aw, this is cute! I like the angles and the way that you were able to capture the fish at this perfect moment. Like Snoink said, I would work on the colors. Everything is muted and nothing really pops -- make this striking to look at.

I actually didn't edit any of these except for third one. Well, I did crop the fourth one a bit because she was sitting in the window and the little dangly things got in the way, so those got cropped out. Yeah, I'll go on photoshop and edit the last one to make the colors more vibrant and alive. Thanks for the comments so far guys/girls.
