My name was called, I stood up. I walked toward the door, turned around, and looked at the scared faces of my classmates. I grabbed my pack and ran out the door. After about seven steps out the door, my fearlessness escaped, and my confidence was gone. I reached into my pack, looking for something I could use as defense. Aside from a compass, water, food, flashlight, map, etc., I pulled out a survival manual. Thanks, what a great weapon. Not a gun, knife, or even a rope. No, a survival manual. I practiced self defense with it. The poor 50 page, hardcover bush can't even dent a bush. I found shelter in an abandoned building on the east side of the island.

=Liz Berdinine=

Liz heard her name called, followed by Jacob's. She glanced at him realizing the magnitude of this event. She was going to die. Liz sprang to her feet an ran off trailing inches behind Jake. As they jumped down the stairs, all three at once, she caught up with Jake and ran along side him, one thing had been apparent from the beginning, she and Jake were in this together. She was his girlfriend, he was her boyfriend. This relationship was the best thing that had happened to either of them. Finally, her life was happy she was truly happy, then this... this damn program interfered. She started to run slower, she had never run this far, then again, she had never been running for her life before.
"Ready to quit?" she panted after an hour or so of running.
"Are you?" Jacob asked in return.
"You look tired, and we've put some distance between ourselves and the others." He gasped dropping to a jog.
She fell in step with him " it helps to be the fastest two kids.." She said, then collapsed.
Jacob caught her and sat down against a half torn wall. "Where are we?" He asked looking at the rubble that used to be a city.
"I don't know, maybe we should get into one of those buildings, the stronger one." She gestured to a structurally sound looking building (99)
"You're right, it'd be better to get to high ground. Come on."
Liz walked with Jacob, keeping her riot shield close around both of them. She jumped onto a fallen rafter and helped Jacob up. They made the difficult journey until they reached what used to be the 14th floor.
Liz walked over to Jacob, "Be careful." she whispered as he crawled to the edge of the floor where concrete fell into oblivion. Something about this ominous derelict city made you whisper.

Mikan Amaya:

"How are you doing, Mikan?" Jacob asked with a grin on his face.

I practically jumped out of my skin, straightening, I raised my taser and aimed it at his heart. The grin on Jacob's face faltered and he raised his arms slowly into the air. It was kind of hard as he was already on the ground. I glanced to my side, maybe I could run for it when he wasn't looking. I edged out of the darkness, my bottom lip trembling.

"Mikan...I'm not going to hurt you!" Jacob said more slowly, his eyes pressed on the taser gun.

I gulped, freezing like a deer caught in the headlights of a large car. "You're not?"

Jacob shook his head. I probably should've shot him right there and then and ran for my life but I didn't, I knew Jacob and he usually stuck to his word. I lowered the taser and sighed heavily, my heart beating to fast for me to calculate. Jacob let of a nervous giggle and wiped the sweat off of his forehead using the back of his hand.

"For a second there I thought you were actually gonna shoot." Jacob said, slowly trying to lift himself up. I glimpsed the pain on his face and felt my heart explode. I was going to wound an already wounded guy! How shallow was I? I hurried towards Jacob and offered my hand. He took it, a mask of pain covering his face, and I lifted him from the ground.

"Are you okay?" I asked.

"I've seen better days," Jacob muttered, dusting the dirt and blood off of his uniform. I felt my face scrunch up and tears run down my cheeks. We were all going to die! I was so scared I had almost shot my friend and sent who know how many bolts of electricity through his veins.

"I'm s-sorry, it's just that I thought you were going to kill me." Oh great, now here comes the water works. Just what I need.

Location: Building with Jacob.
I spy!

My name is Thomas Mavirum I am 13 years old and 5’1. I have bright blue eyes and dirty blond hair. I’m not terribly skinny however, I am a little on the small size. I have a terrible fear of dark confined spaces. I got that fear when the roof a the car trapped me inside it. I will tell you more about that later. I’ve been known to be quite, always keep to my self. Unless I have know a person for a long time and they have become a good friend. On my seventh birthday my parents were driving me to Chuciecheeses when we stopped at a red light. I recognized the people in the car next to us, they where the parents of some kid that went to my school. That’s when the bomb went off. It was the loudest thing I had ever heard. I barley giving me enough time to duck behind the seat in front of me. Were my father was sitting. My mother was killed instantly from the blast my father and I weren't quite as lucky. My father had a piece of glass en lodged half way in his brain and the other half sticking outside his skull. I was trapped under the roof of the car with out even enough room to turn my head away from the mangled, arm less, bleeding body of what used to be my mother. Or the screaming body of my father with blood and I think a little brains slurping down his arm. I closed my eyes trying to hide the image of my mother and father but the image was burned permanently into my memory. I sat in that car with my body mangled and more bruises and broken bones than any one person could count, and I sat there for almost 3 hours. The firefighters final arrived with those big scissor things that can cut through metal. I was carried into an ambulance, on one of those stretchers when. I tried to look around for my mother or father. There was so much pain in the tiny movement of me trying to turn my head that I blacked out. When I woke up I was in a full body cast in a hospital. The first thing I did was ask about my parents. The doctors told me that my mother had been killed instantly from the blast. However my father was on the road to a full recovery. They told me that I would recover to. For the two and a half months that I spent in that hospital I ate next to nothing, and did nothing but grieve over my mothers death. After I was released I learned that my father “was” recovering only it will take 60 years. He won’t live that long he is already 40. I was living a next to normal life with my grandmother. I was told that I am pretty crafty with a bow and arrow. So I started taking archery lessens, I learned how to throw knifes in archery school. They told me that I would be an excelt hunter; because i’m intelligent, light footed and I have great eye sight. Life was finally starting to turn around. When, I was thrown into this god awful place. They tell me if I want to live i will have to kill everyone in here. Or be the least be the last one standing.

THOMAS MAVIRUM

I hear my name called, and I sprint off into the forest before me. The only way I’m going to win this is if I play smart, and get the upper hand as soon as possible. First things first I need a familiar weapon. I start looking around for a branch that I could carve into a bow. Carve, crap I realized that all I have is a hammer. New first order of business, find something I can carve with. There is a noise, no a scream someone has screamed. and the noise is right in front of me. I crouch and slowly make my way toward the scream. There two people are fighting, I can see a spear on the ground and hatchet on the other kids back also he has one in his hand. Maybe if I run in right now i will be able to kill them both use the spear hilt has my bow and carve it with the hatchet. I’m about to come running out when I notice that the person with the hatchets is very skilled with his weapon and that he just sent the other kid flying over the cliff with his spear. Only now can I see the face of the killer, it’s the boy who lost his parents in the “accident” bombing. I decide this might be harder than it seems seeing as the kid has his guard up because that scream could easily attract unwanted attention. It’ll be dark soon time to make camp, no fire it’s to risky at this time. I climb a tree and find a place that is comfy enough and try to fall asleep, to no avail. I spend a sleepless night trying to hear any sign of life.

Very highly confused right now. It's not making sense to me. So either someone could explain it to me or someone can kill Trance, which ever.

I looked over at Mikan and suddenly my grin faded, because she had her taser aimed at my heart. I raised my hands slowly. "Mikan...I'm not going to hurt you!" I said more slowly, my eyes pressed on her taser.

"You're not?" she looked more worried than I was, and that's saying something. I shook my head and that reassured her. She lowered the taser, and sighed. She probably wouldn't have shot me anyway. I let out a small laugh and wiped the seat off my face with the back of my hand.

"For a second there I thought you were actually gonna shoot," I said through my grin that has reappeared on my face. I tried to get off the ground, but all I could feel was pain. And I must have shown it too, because Mikan looked like she was going to cry. She walked over and lifted me off the ground.

"Are you okay?" she asked. I leaned against the wall to take off some of the pain.

"I've seen better days," I muttered, wiping the blood off my shirt.

"I'm s-sorry, it's just that I thought you were going to kill me," she said with tears in her eyes. I'd really always kind of liked her, and I realized this was my chance to make a move. As the tears started to come out I walked up to her and wrapped her in an comforting hug.

"It's going to be alright," I tried to assure her, but I was just saying that."If you want, I'll take first watch." She nods and I release her. She heads over to an old couch and lays down. After a while the tears stop and she starts to breath normally, which means she's sleeping. As soon as I'm positive she fell asleep I pick up the taser and my bayonet and take my post by the door. Then I hear the crack of feet outside the building. Human's feet...

Here's a crappy attempt at a post!

MONA:
How long does it take for a reality to hit? Well, as long as it takes to accept it. But I didn't want to accept it. I was stuck in a dank building, grasping a weapon in my hand, a pack slung over my shoulder, and a metal collar clamped around my neck. I felt like a prisoner -- but I was stuck in a game ... It was one of those alarming stories come to life. How long had I been sitting here, simply waiting from this horrible dream to end? Long enough. I could almost feel a dust settling on my bare arms and legs. Carefully, slowly, I rose, allowing lightheadedness to take hold on my spinning head. These thoughts would never stop -- just as this world would not stop spinning out of motion. So everything was gone. My family. My friends would not be those friends who had welcomed me in with them. South Africa was gone. Sunsets in the summer ... kittens ... watermelon ... ice cream ... stains on white shirts ... Everything was gone. I had zero optimism that I'd make it out of here alive -- yet I still grasped onto that tiny shred of hope that maybe, just maybe, this was some strange way at driving us closer together. Helping us to create allies; friendships. Life-long ones.

After the dizzy spell passed, I stepped my way across the floor, the swollen wooden boards creaking beneath my soft footfalls. Very little light seeped under the door and through the closed windows. Only tiny slivers of them fall across the boards, revealing the dusty coat that fell over them like a soft blanket. I push the door open with care, allowing more light to fall in. My eyes blinked, struggling to adjust to the brightness. I'd forgotten about the sun. From the way it hurt to stare at it, I knew this was terrible. It was real.

I stepped out of the building, looking left and right. A sombre atmosphere hung all around me. Danger crept in. It felt like I was walking on a mine-field, trying to choose my steps carefully, or else. To my left something moved. I pressed myself back against the building. Fear drowned out logic, replacing it with instinct -- flight; My feet felt glued to the ground.

I stood up and looked at the faces of my classmates around me. They looked worried, but I knew the expression on my face hid any inklings of emotion that tried to sink through. It didn't take a genius to figure out where we were. Battle Royale. The government program to kill us. Great.

I was handed a guitar and a case containing water, food, and a compass. Seriously? a guitar? Maybe my extreme skills at not playing intruments would kill everyone. I started running, then realized, why am I running? am I a wimp? everyone will be running, shouldn't I stay? I stowed to a halt right near a tall tree with good cover; it would make a good camp, for the night at least. I climbed the tree and sat down in a groove shaped almost exactly to my bum, as if some god was blessing me with comfort in the middle of hell.

I looked at my guitar. It was average in many aspects, below in others. it was made of quality wood and the strings were good and strong. It was bad as a weapon. Wood was weaker than bone, andthe little metal spakes at the top couldn't do anything.

" Thanks a lot." I grumbled to whatever good was putting me through this torture. " A guitar, great, I'm so gonna live."
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I wake up, take my knife cross the room to Tashiki hold my knife to her throat shake her awake and say
“I will miss you, my darling.”
She screamed, I slit her throat. Her warm blood trickles down my arm.
A silent scream escapes my lips as my head is ripped from my body.

I slipped down from my tree and heard a scream split the early morning air. I begin to run toward the sound and I see That George had cut Tashiki’s throat. I throw a hatchet at him. A graceful arc with a deadly purpose. I see the sharpened blade slice his head from his body. Blood pours from what used to be his neck. He is dead. I am about go over to him and pull my hatchet from his body when I hear a twig snap right above me. I twist sideways at the last second and a hammer thunders to the ground where I was a split second ago. Thomas! I pull two hatchets from my shoulder and give them a menacing sweep, the poison still fresh on the blades. He lunges at me swinging his hammer over his head and I side-step him. He fakes right and cuts left at the last second driving his elbow into my shoulder. I hear a loud pop and realize that my shoulder has been dislocated. I drop one of the hatchets in surprise. I realize that I am losing, I begin to fall back as I devise a plan in my head. He spins around and nearly splits my head in two. I pretend to stumble backward. He presses onward. A malicious grin spreads across his face as I begin to fall. I hit the ground and he steps on my chest driving the air from my lungs.
“I thought you would be more of a challenge than that,” he smirks. “I didn’t think you were that stupid,” I think. I take my good arm and drive the blunt end of the hatchet into his temple. His eyes roll back into his head and he falls backward. I roll over and groan. I regain my feet while he lies there stupidly. Just to be sure he wasn’t faking although I severely doubted it, I had killed people with that sort of hit. He was still breathing but I needed to make sure that he was unconscious. I kicked him in the side leaving a big black bruise. He didn’t even twitch. I then walked over to a corner and placed my arm against the wall. I took a deep breath and pushed. It snapped back into place easily. I grimaced with the pain and began to check the camp for supplies. I find Tashiki’s med-kit and clean my wound and redress it. That will come in handy. I also find their supplies and take those. I take a look around, all that remains is the knife that killed Tashiki. I wipe the blood off it and write in the sand “we are even,” the explosion that killed my parents also killed his mom. A piece of glass also shot into his fathers head and he became a little crazy afterword. I drive the knife in the ground beside his head for good measure. We will finish this later.

I immediately rush over to Mikan and grab her arm. She springs up and I hand her the taser. As we look anxiously towards the door, I can't take it. I take the taser from Mikan, not forcefully, and head to the second floor. I look out the window and nobody's there. Then I here the scream. I run downstairs and see on of my old classmates, Eli James, on the ground. Then I see why. Mikan is trapped under him and he has his hands on her throat. He's trying to strangle her. I drop the taser and charge towards him. He sees me coming, but it's too late. I tackle him off Mikan and start to hit him. I raise my knife, but before I can stab him, he punches me in the jaw. A sharp wince of pain shoots through my body. I go flying off, and he's on me. I feel his iron hands grip my neck and he starts to squeeze.

I can feel all the air I had in my system go out, as he strangles me. I try punching him but I'm too weak, I don't do anything. The pain is extreme. My vision is starting to blur. Its over. I'm going to die, here and now. I start to see black. Right before I black out I see Mikan tackle him off me, the flash of sun on metal, and I hear a scream.
