I was used to the fact that this game was about killing, so I was unfazed by the fact that an insane person had just been murdered before my own eyes. I feel a shooting pain go through my stomach. I double over, and feel like something is eating me from the inside out.

"What's wrong?" Sparkle asked. I figure it's probably from me crashing from an adrenaline rush, and I realize I haven't eaten for almost a day.

"Well, if we're going to go to the Cornucopia, then we should probably eat first, and rest up. If we go right now, there's no way we can win!" I say, my inner logic coming out. I take the dried fruit and take a piece. I barely even chew it before I swallow it. I offer the bag to Sparkle, and she chews it thoughtfully. That was probably smart, because it'll give her more energy that way. I take another piece of fruit and chew it slowly this time, even though I'm starving. Sparkle takes another piece and gives me back the bag. I set it down and take a nice long drink of water.

I notice all of a sudden it's quiet. I stand up abruptly, and glance around nervously. I groan as the pain in my body grows. I see tuft of brown hair over the top of a bush. I nod to Sparkle, and we're both deathly quiet. I grab my knife and cautiously walk over to the person.

It's Dexter Roland. I remember him from before. I thought about making an alliance with him, but I realize that wouldn't be smart now.

Sparkle whispers to me, "He's all yours." I grasp my knife, but when I walk over, I see a steady stream of blood coming out of his back. He must be unconscious, because I couldn't sleep through that. I think he's dead, but I notice the steady rise and fall of his chest. I can't stand here, because he might wake up at any minute. I walk over, and calmly slash his throat. His eyes shoot open, and he looks at me. I think he tries to scream, but all that comes out is a gurgling noise. He falls to the ground with a sickening thud, and stops breathing.

Taylor Silk This post is from yesterday, but I edited it, because I realized it's unfair to kill two people and not be injured. Honesty! :)

I had just had my first kill in the Hunger Games. I was pretty happy, no matter how sick and twisted it was, that I had just killed someone. I grinned at Sparkle sheepishly, and wiped my forehead with the back of my hand. I walked back over and got a drink of water from the bag.

"How's it feel?" Sparkle asked.

"What?"

"You killing Dexter. How's it feel?"

"Oh. Uh, good, I guess. Just that much closer to the end." I say, knowing the people watching me right now must be horrified.

Just as I lean against a tree, relaxed and triumphant, we hear twigs cracking a few feet away. I can hear someone cursing under their breath, and muttering to themselves.

Ellette Brynn comes stumbling towards us. She looks half-asleep, and hungry.

"Have you seen Dexter?" She asks, panicky. Sparkle and I must have a psychic connection or something, because I can tell she's thinking what I'm thinking. We kill her.

"No, I haven't seen Dexter." Sparkle says sweetly. "Why? Were you in an alliance with him or something?"

"Yes, and I haven't seen him since he blew away in the storm!"

"Well, we just heard a cannon go off. I'm sorry Ellette, but that might have been for him." I say, trying to sound innocent.

"Stop lying," She says in between her teeth. "I heard you two talking. Now which one of you killed Dexter." She asked menacingly.

"I did. What're you gonna do Ellette?" I say, teasing her.

"Aaahhhh!" She screams running towards me in a haze of fury. She starts to punch me, hard. I'm surprised by her strength, since she's so small. She punches me in the stomach, and the wind is knocked out of me for a moment. I recover, trying to dodge her. She punches me in the shoulder, right where I was hit during the storm. I scream in agony. She grins, knowing she's found a weak spot. She punches me there again, this time harder. I grip my shoulder, trying to hold back tears of pain.

Sparkle finally decides now's a good time to help me out. She runs over and grabs Ellette by the back of the neck. Ellette tries to punch he from behind, but she misses. Sparkle brings the hilt of her sword down on Ellette's head. I hear the sound of a bone cracking, and she falls to the ground. Her eyes are just starting to close, when I run over.

I drive my knife through her neck. A fountain of blood starts pouring out of her neck. She puts her hand in the air, like she's trying to squeeze my neck. She gives one final twitch which Sparkle and I miss, because we're already running away by the time we hear the cannon.

Ellette Brynn dead, Taylor and Sparkle heading towards the Cornucopia.

Specs Wyre

He was glad to be rid of the other two. Well, maybe not glad. Happiness was an unintelligent emotion, and he rarely felt 'glad'. It was more that he could finally do as he wished, the way he wanted to. the others-as strange as it sounded from the boy with the broken leg- slowed him down.

The vent opened up-or more of was ripped off- in a large room. Specs lowered himself down into it, nodding at the accommodations. There was plenty of machinery to toy with, and he was sure he could find a battery somewhere. He first set up trip-lines with his remaining barbed wire, though. at this point, it was smart to have a back-up.

A battery was wielded from an odd control module. they were dead, but he simply connected them to an alternator, turned the huge thing on, and within minutes the batteries, though slightly melted and not nearly as good as new, were inserted into the tazer, and it sparked to life.

There was a cry from behind him, and he turned to see a girl, the district two tribute, trying to get her bloodied legs out of his barbed wire. the spikes were mangling her flesh with each move she made, she had obviously not seen them and tried running up to attack Specs when she'd discovered the trip, and just too late. She was crying out in pain, trying to regain enough control to break free and kill Specs.

Specs approached her, not looking scared or anxious, just cold, so cold... The tribute somehow found a jagged wedge of scrap and made a sidelong lunge with it, driving it into Spec's bad foot.

The pain, so sharp and real, caused Specs to gasp, grasping onto one of the control modules for support. Other than his leg breaking, he had never felt that kind of pain. had that been what it was like for the ones who he had killed? A pain like that, right across the neck?

The girl stopped struggling, instead reverting to deep sobs as she tried to keep her legs from being further mangled by the wires. Specs was breathing heavily as his fingers struggled with the clasps on his brace, shifting his leg up to take the weight off of the foot. He swallowed, closing his eyes to accept the pain. It still bled profusely, but he had to make it through, it would be fixed in the capital.

Forcing through the pain, he took the last of his spool of copper in one hand, while gathering the sobbing girl's hands in his other. he twisted a length of wire around them, and then attached that to one of the consoles. She was going to die, but not now. now he needed someone there, someone who he didn't need to lie to, whose opinion wouldn't matter.

"Do you think I am a monster?" he said, looking at her.

She sniffled, refusing to look at him.

He stood, limping over to the wall, the one place he could see everything, with no weakness of not being able to see people behind him.

His epiphany was gone, pushed away by statistics, timing, figuring out how he could win. "I am not a monster. I do not feel the same emotions as others, true. But this does not make me a monster, does it? For I am simply doing what is needed for my own survival. this is what everyone else is doing in these games, is it not?

"But others, they do feel emotions. regret. fear. happiness. But they are the ones who put them aside to slaughter others who feel the same as they do. Their emotions try to stop them, but most ignore these, or if they give in to them, they are killed by those who ignore them. I am not the monster because I cannot feel. Others are the monsters because they choose not to."

He looked at the injured girl. "You do not deserve to live. None of us do. Every tribute, every child, every peacekeeper and capatalist who enjoys this, who supports this, deserved to die like the other 23 who have. Is this not correct?" He asked.

The bleeding girl just sobbed.

In the cornicopia, with Claire Adamson, injured.

Lyndolin Trip -- Time to make a move, I think

Finally the group I was tailing split up. Bad move for them, as the strong ones stayed together and the weak one moved off on his own. I knew that the weak one was not to be underetimated (he was battle hardened) but without a proper weapon, I had a better chance at taking him then anyone else. I decided to tail him a little longer though. It was tough. The hunger and thirst pains made me want to attack right away, but I forced myself back. I needed assurance that he had supplies that I could use. Finally I found my moment.

He and an injured District 2 girl were having a stand off. 2 for the price of one if I could successfully get a kill off on at least one of them. All three of us were injured, but I had the first move and I took it. I charged out with a battle cry. The injured boy (Specs I think his name was) turned and saw me. He barely had enough time to react, but he was still able to move out of the way. I lost my balance and fell over. I was weak and unbalance. The loss of blood accompanied with the lack of food and water for a whole day was really affecting me. Still, I was District 12 and I wasn't dying without a fight.

"You better just let me kill you now," I said trying to bluff them, "I'm an expert at throwing knives and I have 2 with your names on them."

Specs just looked at me. He was not buying it at all, "You're bluffing." He said, "You're the one who tried to kill us at the fountain. Quick, but no strategy."

"But a goo distraction." The District 2 girl said behind me. This was going to get interesting.

With Specs and Claire. She has no weapon, and has a massive gash on her arm. Won't go down without a fight, but I give permission for her death.

The girl had no weapons. But still, she would be able to overpower him. He had to use her lack of strategy to his own advantage.

She moved first, making a lunge for him. He managed to get his upper half out of the way, but his brace wasn't as fast, and she landed on it. her eyes fell on the sharp wedge still imbedded in his foot, and in one painful motion, pulled it out and slashed upwards with it. Specs' white shirt blossomed with red along the jagged tear she caused, and he fell backwards, his leg still pinned beneath her.

She pressed him down, getting a better grip on the weapon, a gleam of something familiar in her eyes. Pride? Victory? Either one caused her to pause, to savor her victory-

Which was just the opening Specs was expecting. He jammed his tazer into her chest, the barbed wire sticking into her and drawing blood. He managed to switch it on as she flinched from the stab, and the girl spasmed, her body rejecting the pulse of electricity. She fell off of him, and he dragged himself away, trying to reach his knife and get to his feet at the same time. Neither feat was easy, his brace kept slipping in the blood that was pouring from his foot, and his knife had shifted in the whole affair, getting deeper down into his brace, as well as slippery from the blood of his chest.

The girl was twitching less, soon she would be able to move again. he had little time. He finally managed to get his feet under him, just as she started to get to her feet. Her entire arm was red from the blood of the gash on her arm. she stumbled a bit getting up, but he knew not to underestimate her strength. He tried to back away, his brace once again making things difficult, and she made a clumsy upwards lunge at his face. the edge of the metal scraped up across his nose to his forehead, just barely missing his eyes, but sending his glasses into the air. Despite the struggle, he somehow heard them clink to the ground behind him, and in one eternal moment, he heard the crack as his brace trod on them.

The world turned fuzzy and ot of focus. His fingers finally found his knife. he drew it out, and drove it into her stomach, then withdrawing it and backing away as she stumbled back, clasping her stomach as blood seeped between her fingers. The girl fell to the floor, gasping as she tried to seal the hole. Specs bent, retrieving his bloodied and broken glasses. both lenses were cracked, one much worse than the other. when he put them on, he saw the world as fractured.

Which meant he saw nearly a dozen Lyndolin's coming straight at him, bloodied shank in hand. With one swift motion, he stabbed outward with his knife-

Did he hit? Did he miss? I'll let you decide. In the cornicopia with Lyndolin and Claire.

" What was that?" Taylor asked.

I was to ashamed to say I was hungry, he wasn't. How could I be so needy, when we'd eaten yesterday? It wasn't just hunger either, there was a dry spot on my tongue that wouldn't wet up, no matter how hard I tried.

" Oh, um, I'm gassy." Th look on his face was a mix between laughter and disgust.

" Wow, I didn't know you farted. I thought you were the amazing ungassy girl." I cringed.

This was a joke from earlier, when I wasn't hungry. Taylor had farted when we were stalking our next meal, and I'd told him a real civilized person never farted. Karma.

We'd been walking a few hours towards the cornucopia. The trees of the animal kingdom were starting to wane, and more roads were appearing. Finally, I discreetly sipped some water. I don't think Taylor noticed. Hopefully not, I feel shameful.

" We must be getting closer." I said.
Sorry for the odd post, writer's block, and I have to go to church.:p

"We must be getting closer." Sparkle said out of nowhere. I also noticed the trees were thinning out a little ways back. We slowed down to a walk, and I tripped over a rock. I put my arms out to cushion my fall. Big mistake. I felt a *pop* in my bad shoulder, and a searing pain went all down my arm.

"Oh my God. Taylor, your shoulder!" Like I didn't already know what happened. I couldn't move my arm, and it was jutting out disgustingly from my body.

"I think... I think it's... dislocated." I said between my teeth. A tear fell from my eye. What was I thinking? I couldn't cry! It would make me seem vulnerable. I tried to suck it up, but it was hard, because every time I moved, my shoulder changed positions.

"Okay, um, I think, maybe, I can pop it back into place?" She said it like a question, like she wasn't sure. I nodded, as she walked over. She put her hands on my shoulder, which sent a lightning bolt of pain through my arm and body. I bit my tongue, trying not to scream out in pain.

"Okay, I'm going to push on three. You ready?" I nodded, ready for three. "Alright, one, two!" She pushed on two, and it didn't go in.

"Aaaaahhhh! Stop, stop!" I screamed.

"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry! I meant to push it back in! I'm sorry, just let me try again. We can't go anywhere until you're shoulder is fixed." Determination shining in her eyes. I leaned against a tree, bracing myself one more time. She came over and gave me a grin. I tried to grin back, but I assume it came out more like a grimace.

"Okay. Here we go again. You ready?" Even though we both knew I didn't have an option.

"Mm hm."

"One, two, three!" She pushed with all her might, and I heard a pop. My shoulder was back in! To test it, I wiggled my fingers and moved my arm around.

"Nice job." I complimented her. We were on our way once again. After walking for a few minutes, we entered a clearing.

"Hey look! A water tower that looks like a mouse!" I pointed to an object not too far off from where we were.

"You know what that means?" She asked, half to herself.

"What?" I asked, curious.

"It means we're close to the Cornucopia than I thought."

hm... I don't know if you guys read my last post ... but Claire and I were supposed to be together. Whatever, though, I
ll just pull myself in, i guess.

Skye

I landed with a huge thump on the ground. Nothing seemed to be injured badly, though, and my neck had stopped bleeding.

I looked up and around. There was a... statue of a mouse? Quite odd. There were also two people. I don't think they saw me... I hope so. I was in no condition to fight right now. I think it''s Taylor... and Sparkle? Uh-oh. If sparkle sees me... but now that Claire and I got seperated...I might have to take the chance to make an alliance.

I struggled up to my knees, coughing loudly. From the corner of my eye, I saw them spot me and get into a fighting pose.

"I d-don't want to h-hurt you..." I stuttered, as loud as I could. The two people cautiously walked over.

I pulled myself up to my feet, holding a hand to my neck instinctively.

"I got caught my a storm, and got separated from my... partner." My voice was a bit stronger. "I'm still healthy, much more then she is. When I was on the breeze, I saw some fighting by the Cornucopia. Maybe you should try to avoid it for a few days."

An uneasy silence spread over us. We were both ready to fight. I stiffened.

"Alliance?"

“Alliance?” Skye Jershome offered. I glanced at Sparkle.

“Sparkle and I are going to, discuss, it for a minute.” I said hesitantly. I could see a faint trace of the wound on her neck that I’d given her a few days ago. I turned to Sparkle and said quietly, “We can’t be in an alliance with her!”

“I know. It’s getting close to the end, and more numbers will attract more people.” Sparkle said logically. I nodded.

“But how are we going to get rid of her? We can’t just kill her! Claire might be waiting somewhere, ready to defend Skye.” I glanced around warily, wondering if we were going to be ambushed.

“Well, we could-” Her sentence was cut off by something moving loudly through the trees around the edge of the clearing. I saw a dark figure hopping from tree to tree, getting closer to us. Skye looked around nervously. She was squinting, like she couldn’t see where it was coming from. It jumped down from the tree and ran howling into the clearing. It was a monkey of some sort.

“It’s a howler monkey! I learned about those a few years ago! They’re harmless but loud. It’s the perfect distraction!” She said excitably. Skye looked petrified now. She couldn’t seem to locate it, let alone identify it. She probably thought it was a person yelling. It kept running around in circles near Skye. She dashed off away from the monkey, parallel to the Cornucopia. Sparkle and I ran towards the Cornucopia, back on track again.

By number 2 on the map, with Sparkle.

Sorry, my bad. I got a little busy with school. Lyndolin Trip

This kid was giving me more trouble than he was worth. He had already got me in the gut and I knew enough about wounds to know that it was a fatal one. Another thing I knew was I had a lot of time before I would succumb to those wounds. Just enough time to take the kid down with me.

The pain was immense, but I was able to wrestle a makeshift shank from him and got into position to charge. With the last of my strength, I made what I thought would be my last move. I thought about all of my friends back in District 12. How they all were probably cheering me on in my last move. They all probably knew that I was dying. They all knew that I failed in my goal to get them off of the streets. Without that money, they wouldn't last. It was a fact that we all knew, but my coming to the games gave us all hope of a better life. A life that I just couldn't get them. I made it far into the games, but not far enough. I was not going to go down without a fight!

The kid struggled to his feet as I charged and thrusted a weapon forward just I thrusted mine. We slammed into each other, both bloody from multiple wounds and fell to the ground. Me ontop of him. I was in so much pain that I had no clue if I hit or not. Or if he hit me.

"God I hope I hit you, you little runt." I gasped under my breath.

"My arms are longer than yours." He gasped back. I didn't know what he meant at first. He was smart, I knew that, so maybe he was trying to trick me. I tried to get up and I felt something terrible. Something exiting my body. I flopped back down. I knew what he meant. He hit me. He pushed me off of him and got to his feet. He was shakey, but he didn't look to have any life threatening injuries. I did hit him, but it was across his arm.

"No." I gasped.

"That's the nature of the games." Specs said matter of factly, "We both played it to the end."

"I failed... My friends." I let my head fall to the ground. It was oddly comfortable. I just wanted to go to sleep, "I'm sorry." I breathed and closed my eyes for the last time.

Charlie Carter

I lay in the mud. Spasms went through me. It seemed that al my old cuts were reopened because blood was oozing over me. Or was it something new. I wanted to die valiantly. I wanted to die saving someone else. Why did I have to die defeated on a muddy river bank? Why?

I mustered up the last of my strength and wadded into the river. I took the bar of soap luna had and scrubbed my hair my whole body until it was clean. Then walked out and climbed a tree. It was an apple tree in full blossom. I laid back in the crook of my branch just breathing in the peacefulness. Now I could just close my eyes and be gone. No one would say I should have lived, my family would understand. There was nothing wrong with giv- no I was not giving up. I would die anyway. There was no chance I would live to the end if I tried. More blood was already staining the branch. I wondered what my cannon would sound like. My thoughts were jumbled, a mess of words and faces. I was about to let out my last breath when I remembered him.

"I love you" I shouted, it didn't matter now, and then much quieter, "I always did and always will, but I understand." Then I remembered everyone else.

"I love everyone..." I slipped the dog tag around my neck and closed my eyes.

Plans never go perfectly. This was no different. My plan was to take everyone out at the cornucopia trap but that never happened. Still, it wasn't all bad. Luna was killed quickly taking out what I thought would be the biggest competition and I heard a lot of people die elsewhere which left only a few of us. Then, Specs left. I knew that I would see the kid again, but I only hoped that I would see him first. He was a good trapper. Perhaps better than me, and what made it worse was I knew that he treated the games just like that. A game. All the people in it were pons and not people to him. That made for a dangerous opponent.

A little while after, Charlie and I got seperated. I didn't wait for her, it was an unspoken agreement that our alliance was over and we were on our own. I sat down to rest just outside of the cornucopia and sipped on my water. Just then, I heard a canon go off. I had a feeling that it was Charlie. I lifted my bottle in her honour. She was a good person and didn't deserve to die. I was glad that I didn't need to kill her myself. We were in the end game. I needed to set my traps before someone would see me, but I knew that the only person near me would be Specs and he wouldn't attack me outright. I would slaughter him. I needed to corner him and force him to attack, otherwise we would just play a game of cat and mouse with our traps and never get a kill in. I had to be careful though. He was supplied and probably already had the entire cornucopia trapped.

I got up slowly and started for the cornucopia. I had a feeling that things would end there. For better or for worse. If I was lucky enough to kill Specs, I could use his traps to kill the remaining tributes quickly. Or even surround myself in his traps and use them for my own purposes, but that meant finding them first and I needed what little time I had to do so.

I started to whistle to myself. The games were playing with my head, but I didn't last this long to die. Things would end by the end of the night or I would be in trouble.

I say Wolf, for all wolves are not of the same sort; there is one kind with an amenable disposition – neither noisy, nor hateful, nor angry, but tame, obliging and gentle, following the young maids in the streets, even into their homes. Alas! Who does not know that these gentle wolves are of all such creatures the most dangerous!
