Victor Marks

I was halfway back to my hideout when my alarm went off. Someone was in our web. I looked back down the hall and saw Spec's shadow still in his hideout. We both knew that someone was in our trap and the alarm was loud enough that every last tribute probably knew as well. It was a good thing actually as they would be looking for someone who is fleeing rather than us. It would lure them even deeper into our web making our ultimate job much easier.

I knew that Spec's couldn't run, so I knew that I would be relatively safe to go check it out. If anything, I knew that he would take out anyone that got in later. I got to the trap that was sprung. It was one of the the perimeter traps so they weren't very far into the trap just yet. I would have to do the rest of the luring as I was really low on trap supplies and I couldn't do it from complete safety. I still had the element of fear on my side, though so I wasn't too afraid myself.

I drew my dagger and stayed back in the dome, "Hey!" I yelled, "Over there!" I observed from my safe area for any movement. I saw a russel in the bushes near the dome, but too far to just go in and charge. I would have to scare them into going towards me. I looked around and saw a fire nearby. Great, I just revealed my position to someone who is probably not afraid. Well, I had to take the chance. I took a deep breath and moved out.

I crouched and moved as slowly as I could. I didn't really care if the person in the bushes heard or saw me. It would probably scare them into the cornucopia which was where I wanted them. What I didn't want was the person by the fire to see me. They were the unknown and could be an archer for all I know. Upon second thought, so could the person in the bushes... Oh crap.

I didn't stop moving until I was well behind the bushes. I yelled again, "I think they're over here!" Using this strategy, I could make the tribute think that I was moving away from them and they would go for the cornucopia hoping for supplies only to meet Specs and some snare traps that we set. I stopped moving and waiting for something to happen.

In the shadows. I little exposed, but aware of everything that is going on. Near Taylor's position trying to lure him out. I give permission to injure Victor, but not to kill just yet.

Taylor's a guy.
Sparkle Tourmaline

I woke to all the commotion. From what I could here, it sounded as if Taylor had sprung a trap made by Victor or Specs, and Victor chased him out. I has light and I could see anyone coming from at least ten meters away, so I didn't have anything to worry about. If they attacked me, I'd win.

I shifted my body so I could see what was going on. I saw a slight bit of movement in the shadows by the cornucopia, and heard movement in the bushes farther away. I couldn't tell what Victor was doing, but he kept yelling, giving his position away. Finally he stopped and waited. I watched as Taylor peeked out of the bushes at Victor, but e didn't come out. For about twenty minutes, we all waited stiffly. Taylor was the first to move. He got up, thinking that Victor was gone. Victor didn't charge yet, but I knew he'd attack soon. I had a pretty good arm, I could throw and aim. I picked up a burning log, by the non-burning part of course, and threw it towards Victor. i hit pretty close to him, and the bush near him caught fire. He yelped, and before long, a large area was covered in fire. Maybe the gamemakers were helping fuel it, I don't know, but it made me happy. Soemting had happened and Victor might be hurt. The fire was reaching the cornucopia maybe specs would be trapped too. I smiled an evil smile as I heard screams of pain, which meant I was one small step closer to victory.
Light one candle instead of cursing the darkness.

Specs Wyre

One of Victor's trips went off, the wail echoing throughout the dome. It was followed by loud footfalls as Victor went after the other tribute.

Now certain that he had the run of the place, Specs ducked and weaved through his web. As complex as the whole set-up was, there was an escape route. Someone small, like him, could navigate through this emergency escape easily, seeing as they knew where it was.

Specs took the rest of the building slowly, wary that anything could be a trap. He carefully stepped over a tripwire set up to take down a shelf of empty bottles, an effective warning device.

As he neared the entrance, he began to feel a heavy heat. More fire, right outside the door. Victor and the girl who had yelled earlier were there, and the fire was licking at the entrance. The structure wouldn't catch right away. It was made of plastics and metals, the flames would have to reach a higher heat for those to ignite.

But Specs didn't want to wait around for the flames to get hot enough.

He let out a scream, as if he was caught in the flames, then circled around to another entrance. he had a close call with another trip wire, this one rigged to knock a bookshelf onto him, but made it to the side door, and pushed it open into the smokey air.

He followed the curve of the building until the other tributes were just in sight. his dagger was slightly behind his back, only visible if one of them got close. His tazer was held limply in the other hand, in view, but the last time Victor had seen it the thing had no batteries, so it didn't appear to be as big of a threat as it was.

Specs would wait until another tribute was dead, if he could. If not, he'd retreat to the cornicopia, lure whoever followed him into the death trap before taking them down.

The final fight was starting.

Off to the side, in view but away from the action. I give permission to hurt him, but he will try to get back into the cornicopia.

Guys I have been reading everything. I switched up the list a bit because someone pointed out to me that BlueSkySummer has been the last one for the whole time. Or at least most of the time so post a lot guys! It is really hard for me to decide at the end so please don't feel insulted. Does anyone have any ideas about what we could do for a big ending day where all of you die, except one of course. P.M. them to me if you do. I only ask because it should end soon.

Thanks,

A. S.

I heard Victor scream and the smell of smoke filled my nose. The underbrush was so dry, since it hadn't rained and the wild fire dried it out. The bush a few feet away burst into flames, and I ran out into the clearing. The fire was spreading fast, catching all around the clearing. I didn't know if this was an act of the Game makers, but I knew that soon we would all be trapped in the center. I knew it would be a stretch, but I figured if I could make it through those bushes before they caught on fire, everyone else would have to fight in there, at least until the fire died down. I decided to go for it, hoping that it would work.

I was running across the clearing when a burning branch fell right in front of me. I couldn't stop fast enough and my foot got stuck under it for a second. I pulled it out, but it was still badly burned. I limped heavily the rest of the way, and it really slowed me down. By the time I got there, it was only a small opening. I couldn't see any other tributes, so i'd just have to hope no one would see me leaving, or there would be no one on the other side.

I dashed through the bushes, and I could feel the heat on both sides of me. I sat down panting a little ways away.

"Oh no." I thought to myself. If the fire is because of the Game Makers, then it will stay around the edge. But if for some reason it was one of the tributes, it would keep spreading all through the park. I noticed the fire getting closer, and I knew it was from a tribute. The gap was closing, so I know I'd get burned again, but it's better than running. For a moment I forgot about my burned foot and sprinted faster than I'd ever gone before.

I arrived on the side of the clearing and sat down. I was slightly burned on my whole body, and wracking coughs shook my whole body. My foot was still the biggest area of concern. I knew I couldn't go up to the fountain, because Sparkle said she'd had water, and she'd left all of the supplies with me, so it could only mean she was up there. Victor might still think I was in the bushes, and Specs was probably hiding out somewhere. There was a raised planting area that had overgrown, and that was the place I had my eye on.

I walked over to it and laid down in the foliage. I was completely concealed, and it felt cooler in here some how. I coughed again, feeling a burning sensation in my lungs. My foot hurt so badly, and my shoe was pretty much gone. I ripped it off, and my foot was bright red and swollen. I wanted to feel some kind of liquid on it, so I chewed up a nearby leaf and spit it out on my foot. I didn't know a thing about healing, but I knew that it felt good. The paste was so cool, and it felt like ice on my skin. Sure, it was gross, but I was in so much pain it didn't matter. I spit another leaf on it and fell asleep.

Badly burned foot, smoke inhalation, small burns everywhere else. Asleep in one of those weird lifted garden things.

Specs Wyre

The large boy was asleep. He was weak from burns and probably disoriented with smoke inhalation. This would be an easy kill.

Specs pulled out his knife, limping his way over to the boy. Who knew what Victor and that Sparkle were up to. Most likely killing each other. all was going to plan.

Specs lowered himself down beside the boy. holding the knife to the boy's throat, pressing it ever so lightly to his skin, not yet hard enough to draw blood, or even to hurt, really. It would just take one press to slice the windpipe and be done with it. why hadn't Specs done it already? some of the dried blood on the dagger flaked off onto his skin.

Specs tried to will his arm to add pressure to the knife. he tried to will himself to kill the boy. but for the first time, Specs had taken his time, had let himself absorb the boy's face, the way his skin bent around the subtle pressure of his knife, trying to keep itself in one piece. Specs told himself to just kill the boy, just kill him...

the boy's eyes flickered, slowly finding their way to focus on specs. they were hazy from exhaustion and smoke inhalation, but there was a flicker of something. fear? regret?

"Do you want to win." Specs heard the words coming out of his mouth, and for the first time he was truly shocked. had he really just said that? It hadn't come out as a question, but a statement.

The boy looked up at Specs, examining him. "More than anything." he finally said.

"Why." Specs said.

The boy blinked. "Because my sister couldn't."

They stared at each other, and slowly, Spec's knife came off of his neck. Specs let go of the knife, and it fell to the ground with a small sound of metal on rock. Specs placed his tazer beside it and stared a the two. what did Specs have to go back to? a mother who was as cold as he was? rewards for fellow district mates who had more than enough to begin with?

"Win." Specs said. "Victor is smart, as well as strong. stay clear of his traps. the girl I don't know." He pushed his two weapons towards the boy. "Win." he repeated, then stood.

Specs looked off into the distance at the fire for a moment, and then started to limp towards it.

the fire became intense, he was close to it now. Specs limped on.

the splint on his leg had ignited long ago. Specs could feel his leg cooking between the two burning planks of wood.the wood plank split from the heat and Specs sprawled on the burning ground. the glass from his glasses warped, melted by the intense heat. but this was impossible, there was no way he could be alive at such heat. it was statistically impossible

but Specs was starting to learn that sometimes statistics weren't everything.

Specs is dead.

"Because my sister couldn't." I replied to him. A look a realization passed through his eyes. He stood up abruptly, giving me one final look. Then, he walked into the roaring fire. What I saw was horrific. He had something on his leg that burst into flames, and his clothes soon followed. His hair was turned an orangy-red, but the strange thing was, he didn't even scream. He just dropped to the ground where I couldn't see his burning flesh anymore.

But I realized something. He could've killed me right then. He had the option, but he killed himself. I had told him the truth, and he wanted me to win. I still had people rooting for me. I knew I had what it took to win this. And I just wanted to get home.

I laid back down for a few minutes, trying to clear my head and my throat. My throat burned from the smoke, and my whole body ached. I spit some more leaves onto my foot, grabbed my knife, and headed out in search of my next victim.

Please please please please please don't kill Taylor! I really want him to win, and he would've killed Victor, but then Sparkle and Taylor would have to fight. Please, with cherries on top? :)

Victor -- Yeah, I don't really want Victor to win. I will post a couple more times, then he's free for the kill.

The fire did a great job of getting me out into the open. Right next to the girl who was shouting earlier. I guess that's what I got for getting out of my web of traps. She had a sword with some sort of substance rubbed all over it. I had a feeling that one hit from that would end me outright. I had one last plan that could take her out and leave me with only two left to deal with but it was very risky and had me potentially setting off one of Specs's traps. But it was the only chance I had.

I drew my dagger and made like I was going to charge right into the girl. The light from her fire revealed her face to me. It was Sparkle. Great, my opponent was more skilled than me too. My charge made her flinch and I took that time to turn and make a beeline to the cornucopia. I jumped over one of my trip wires and she did the same right behind me. I had to get out of her sight so she didn't just dodge like I was. Trouble was that she was faster than me.

She got right up behind me and swung her blade knicking my ankle. The burning pain started immediately and I knew that I was finished unless I won the games quicky. Just like that my plan changed and I swung my dagger around hitting her across the stomach.

"My blade was poisoned." Sparkle said, "Might as well give up."

"I didn't come this far to fall to poison." I said, "I still have a chance, the Capitol won't let their winner die so easily."

"You still think you have a chance. Cute."

We ran at each other prepared to deal our final blows, but I was using another fake out technique and slid under her blade and quickly ran around a corner and jumped another snare trap. Sparkle ran around and sprung the trap. Her legs were immediately tied up and she fell on her face dropping her sword.

I walked up to her and wordlessly finished my kill. My plan worked, but I had no time to wait for others to show up. I had to quickly finish things within the hour or risk having the poison kill me. I grabbed Sparkle's poisoned sword and walked out of the cornucopia. The pain in my ankle was slowly making its way up my leg and I was limping pretty badly. I made a wish to myself. I wished that I wouldn't die.

Sparkle is dead. Victor is outside the cornucopia and poisoned.

Okay. I can't post 'till tomorrow due to some commitments tonight, but we can drag it out for as long as you like. Realistically, Victor probably only has a few hours before the pain from the poison makes him immobile.

After I was feeling rested enough, I sat up and grabbed the knife and the taser Specs had left. I see a flower next to me, and I let it rip. The flower smokes into nothing. I whistle under my breath.

"This might help." I say to myself. I jump when I hear the booming voice of the Game Maker.

"Well, good job. The Games are almost over. I'd wish you both luck, but that might ruin it!" His evil laugh is cut off. Wait a minute. Both? I made it to the final two! Tears of joy spill out of my eyes when I think of how close I am to coming home to my family. I set out towards the fountain, feeling the burning sensation in my throat again. My stomach grumbles a little, but I don't see anything that I can eat. I arrive at the fountain a few minutes later. The cool glistening water looks so delicious, and I can't restrain myself. I stick my whole head in the fountain, knowing someone could easily sneak up on me and kill me. The water runs down my parched throat, and I think it's the best tasting water I've ever had.

I sit up and open my eyes. There are smoking coals on the ground from a fire not too long ago, and there is a rabbit carcass, completely cleaned. I remember something she said not too long ago.

"I have food and water and you don't!" That was when she was doing her insane act. I remember two cannon shots earlier, one for Specs, and the other for someone else. I'm not quite sure why, but I knew it was Sparkle's cannon.

I remember how we met, when I was asleep and to save my own life I offered an alliance. And then during the windstorm when she was the only thing holding me to that tree. I knew that if I one- when I won, I would go visit her family. Maybe to pay respects, or maybe to tell them to never train their children for this. Everyone here was wasted for the entertainment of the president. But I couldn't think about that now. I had to end these games. I had to get beck to my family.

By the fountain. Has Specs' taser and knife. How long were we planning on letting this go to?
