That creature was the perfect distraction. I darted into the woods. From no where, the anthem began to play. Faces showed. It was very long tonight. I put my head down, trying to ignore it.

I took off towards the copercournia at a steady pace. Every now and then, i would find something on the ground and throw it away. Like a cow, though it wasn't good for me, I chewed on grass like gum to keep myself semi- partially- full. My throat was parched, but I ignored. I had to get to a safe sleeping area where I couldn't be found before nightfall. I glanced around- trees. Nothing new.

I kept walking, painfully aware of all the animals screeching and watching me. When I saw my savior- a jug of water, full! It wouldn't have all of the chemicals. I sprinted to grab it, like someone else was racing to it as well. I held it up, taking a gulp. quickly, though, I put it down- I needed to save it. It was like a gold mine. Now, to find shelter.

We were running towards the Cornucopia, away from Skye Jershome.

"That was close! I really didn't want to be in an alliance with her!" Sparkle joked. I nodded. I sat down and rested.

"Can you tell how close we are?" I asked, tired of running. "I just want to get there."

"I do too, but the only thing we can do for that is to keep going. Trust me, I don't think we'll want to be there anymore once we get there."

I thought about that for a moment. She was right. The Hunger Games were almost over. I knew I wasn't the strongest or the smartest person here, so what were the chances that I was going to win? No. I can't think like that. I need to win. I have to get back to my family. I can't have this happen to my family. Not again.

Flashbacks of my sisters death flooded into my mind. Her scream. Her blood, everywhere. The grin on her killers face. I remember the joy we felt when we saw his brutal death, knowing he'd paid for what he'd done. I shook my head. I couldn't let that happen to my family again.

With Sparkle, in between number 2, 8, and the road on the map.

His arms were longer. He knew she was gone before the realization set into her eyes.

And yet, there was something about her. She didn't cry out for herself, for God or any higher being to let her win, to keep her own precious life. She cried out for her friends, for forgiveness for failing them. For a moment, Specs had a vision of a group of district 12 children gathered around a television, crying out in anguish and pain as their friend- their lifeline, their chance for a better life- fell, defeated, so close to the end.

Specs wondered what kind of love could lead a person, especially a district 12 tribute, to go through this hell for someone else. He blinked. Had he really thought 'love'? Love was a silly explanation. all love relied on taking, she wouldn't go through this for anyone unless she expected something big enough to make up for it in return.

Claire was breathing shallower. The puddle of blood around her had grown. It wouldn't be long until she died of blood loss.

He walked over, crouching beside her. "What are you doing this for? What did you want to win for?" He asked.

She looked up, her sunken eyes narrowing slightly. Her arms tried to strike at him, but she had no more strength to do so.

"Was it fame? Glory? Your precious life?" He continued, striding over to the dead girl, pulling his knife from her chest. a final spurt of dark blood followed the blade, turning his hands a sticky scarlet. "Or was it love? Did you love someone?"

He walked back to Claire, who was making one last stretch for something, anything to attack Specs with. She was struggling to keep her eyes open, fighting off death with the last of her will.

And with a final strike, Specs ended it.

He wrapped up his wounds with ripped off bits of their tribute's uniforms. The last thing he needed was to be weak from blood loss as the final days approached. He took a few sips from his water bottle, noting the empty hunger in his chest. He needed food, he wouldn't last without it.

Luckily, he had plenty of fresh meat around. Hopefully the friends and family of the dead girls stopped watching after their deaths. He doubted they would understand the logic behind his actions.

It was a dog-eat-dog world, after all.

Claire Adamson(SP?) is dead. Inside the cornicopia. I apologize if the end of my post is offending, I can change it if it's too bad, just let me know.

I had been resting for a while, a soft breeze blowing. I walked over and took a sip from our water supply. There wasn't much left, and I checked the bag of fruit.

"Sparkle, we don't have much food or water left." She waved her hand dismissively.

"Taylor, the Games are almost over. It doesn't really matter." I realized she was right. Horrific images of us being slaughtered fought their way into my mind. To make things worse, I heard a shriek nearby. I was sick of this. Of the never ending paranoia, the screaming pain, the sorrow.

Sky Jershome came crashing through the bushes, screaming and swatting at something around her head. I heard a familiar buzzing noise. I don't think she noticed us, because of her bad eyesight and the confusion with the bees. I quickly walked over to Sparkle.

"We help her, then we kill her." She got a gleam in her eyes, and we both ran over to help. I slapped a bee on my arm, and one stung me on my ankle. I cursed under my breath and kept killing them. After we had killed a majority of the bees, I ran over and grabbed our things.

"Come on!" I shouted, trying not to let any bees fly in my mouth. I kept running, not bothering to check if Skye was keeping up. Just then I saw what I was looking for. There were some boats casually floating around, and I breathed a sigh of relief.

"Jump in and hold your breath!" I threw down the bags a second before I hit the water. Sparkle jumped in right after I did, and after a few seconds Skye landed next to me. I could barely see the bees flying around, confused. My lungs started to hurt, and that was when they flew away. I waited as long as I could until I broke the surface. Sparkle came up coughing, and SKye didn't seem like she was breathing at all. We heaved ourselves onto the grass, exhausted.

"Can't... breath..." Skye said weakly.

"Maybe this will help." I replied. I slit her throat and blood oozed out onto the ground. She gave me a look of disbelief, and was frozen.

Skye Jershome dead, by number 18 on the map.

There was another cannon. One more dead. Four were left, including him. It would all be over soon. Victor would surely still be alive, he was too difficult to die easily. The other boy would also most likely still be inside the cornicopia, but wouldn't make the first move. If he didn't come to find Specs, Specs would search for him after dealing with the other two, in ideal conditions, of course. But with other humans, there was unpredictability among them, a lack of thinking things through. and that was what Specs couldn't predict. That randomness could very well lead to his own downfall.

He checked his traps. there was his barbed wire, some of which still had bits of blood and flesh stuck to it. Then there were electrical wires spread out and stripped of the plastic insulation, which would shock any conductive material that touched it, such as a bare arm or leg. Finally was the remainder of his copper wire, spread out at waist height to prevent speed. it wasn't electrocuted or sharp, but it would keep any tributes from running at him.

If they could get through that, he had his tazer in one hand, his bloody dagger in the other. as he leaned against the wall at the center of his half-circle of protection, he began to calculate how he could win this.

Four tributes. two boys, one girl, one unknown. The girl would be physically weaker than possibly Victor, but would still probably overpower him in his weakened state. On the other hand, the girl and unknown would probably have little to no water, seeing as their trap on the fountain would at least discourage them from filling their water bottles. So they would be dehydrated, possibly hungry, while he still had half a water bottle and had just eaten his fill of fresh meat. however, his advantage of water was shared with Victor, making him that much stronger. Victor was also a skilled trapper, so he would also have plenty of traps set up by the time the others found Specs, if the other two did find Specs first. there was the chance that they would run into Victor first, in which case they might very well take him out, two on one. But if the two others were not allied together, that was another variable that needed to be worked in.

His eyelids were heavy, and he closed them. any intruder making their way through his web would make some sort of noise to wake him up, and he needed his rest for the following days.

And so, still calculating survival rates at the center of his wiry spiders web, Specs nodded off to sleep with a weapon in each hand.

Another kill for Taylor? Gosh, he was a beast. I mean, that was what the games were about but this was what, his fifth kill? Sixth? I 'd lost count. And because of our fancy killing ways we'd managed to get even farther away from the Cornucopia.

" Alright, lets talke her stuff and leave," Taylor said. We gathered her things and started walking back towards the cornucopia.

After about half an hour of walking, I started thinking. There were only five people or so left in the game, and we were probably the only two still a team. If we broke off now though, we'd be less strong for the final fight. I debated my choices in my head. Kill him now, just run away, stay until the fight, or wait until we were the last two. They were all options, but which was the best.

" Let's stop and finish our food and water so we don't have to carry it around later," said Taylor.

He was smarter than he looked, maybe he was thinking along the same lines as me right now. I agreed and sat down, making sure I could see him completely. I gave him some crackers to lull him into the idea that our alliance was still strong, and then ate my share.

" So, Sparkle, when do you think we should break up our alliance?" He asked, confirming my suspicions. He had been thinking about it too. I did some fast thinking and figured our alliance wouldn't be in place more than a few hours longer anyway, so might as well break it off now.

" Huh? I don't know, I was thinking of waiting until we got to the cornucopia, then just walking away." I didn't mean what I said, but three years of acting lessons were worth it; Taylor relaxed and bent down to tie his shoe. Big mistake.

" Grabbed my sword and hit him with the handle, right on his head. He fell down immediately, out cold. I drew up my blade and prepared to bring it down, then stopped. Could I really betray him, and have to face his family back home? They'd look at me like I was a monster, and I would be. No, i wouldn't become one of those tributes.

I grabbed a knife and with only that and my sword, walked away, towards the cornucopia.
Just ended my alliance with Taylor Silk. Heading towards the cornucopia

I walked into the giant domed building while still whistling. I had what would be known as 'Home field Advantage'. Our alliance had been here for a while, so only Specs and I had the layout memorized and between the two of us, we probably had the entire thing trapped pretty well. Specs always seemed to make the deadly traps, but there was a downside to that. They were way too obvious. Mine were the basic snares that I had set up around any choke points I could find as well as a small trip wire at the entrance. The snares would slow people down long enough for me to get to them and get a kill while the trip wire would alert me to their presence.

I was most proud of the trip wire actually. Set up with some string that was barely noticeable right across the main entrance of the giant dome, it was connected to a shelf full of empty water bottles. The shelf was not held up by much (only a stick) and when someone would hit the trip wire, it will pull the stick away making all the bottles fall. The resulting racket would do two things for me. One, it would alert me that someone was in my trap zone and two, it would alert Specs as well. If I could get Specs curious enough to get out into the open, I could jump him and kill him right away.

It's funny, I would never have thought of Specs as my greatest opponent. When we first met, I hated him. He just reminded me too much of my parents who I also despised. Then, I was forced to take care of him as he constantly reminded me that he was the kid my parents wanted. The know it all. What's worse is I was stuck saving him. As much as I hated to admit it, neither Charlie nor I would have made it this far without him. Well, that was over. It was my time to shine. Perhaps now I could show my parents that I too am smart enough to outsmart their dream child. I will be happy to see Specs die and I wanted it to be with my own blade.

I continued to whistle as I set my last snare and sat in the darkest spot I could find. Still whistling, I closed my eyes and waited.

In the dome. Snares are set up inside, but more importantly, there is a trip wire at the entrance that will cause a lot of noise.

(My bad. Wow, I made a lot of mistakes in that post... all fixed now. Nothing really for Specs to do now, I'll wait for something else to happen first if possible, if not I'll just think of something)

I slowly sit up, rubbing my head. I look around, dazed and confused. Sparkle isn't there. Everything else is there, except her knife and her sword. I'm glad she didn't take my knife, otherwise there was no way I could win. Then again, I'm just glad she didn't kill me.

As horrible as it sounds, I hope Sparkle doesn't make it to the end. I would hesitate to kill her, but I know she wouldn't. She was trained for this. This was her life.

I stood up, and I knew the Games were almost over. It wouldn't do any good to get more water, and I was pretty full. I decided to leave everything behind. I didn't think I would need it for anything. The thread was all gone, the needle wouldn't do any good on it's own, and the bags would just be a burden. I grabbed my knife, checked myself for wounds, which I found a few bee stings which were a little tender, and I headed off towards the Cornucopia.

By number 18, no longer with Sparkle Tourmaline. Heading towards the Cornucopia. If for any reason you want them, the bags and needle are up for grabs... (I honestly don't know why you would need them, just felt like putting it out there.)

He opened his eyes. There was no way to tell how long he had been sleeping, but he felt rested, so he guessed at least eight hours. Though it was also possible that he was only asleep for an hour or two. sometimes shorter naps of sorts gave the impression of more rest.

He gazed around at his own personal web. It didn't appear anyone had tried to navigate through it. His rested mind saw it's largest flaw- any long-range weapon would get straight through. At this point in the games, he was sure each tribute had their choice weapon, and he didn't recall anyone having a long- distance weapon such as a bow and arrows, but any dagger could be thrown with enough aim and end him.

No matter how long he had been asleep, it still left the fact that no-one had found him yet. That posed a problem. His entire trap relied on others coming to him, not the other way around. He had to salvage his own web before it backfired on him.

"Victor." He called out, his voice ringing through the area. He had no illusions of Victor believing his 'innocent young boy' act. Victor knew that Specs could fend for himself, so he had to plan this next move carefully.

"Victor, we both know at least one of us is going to die. You want to get home just as badly as I do." He called out. "We can work together to knock out the other two tributes. Just until they are dead, Victor, and then we can kill each other like civilized citizens.

"You are stronger than I am, Victor. You know you can win against me. What do you have to lose?" He ended, letting his voice echo around the building.

Specs had no intention of teaming up with Victor. And he knew that Victor had no intention of teaming up with him. Neither trusted the other, and for good reason. Specs would slit Victors throat at the first available chance. No, this was to alert the other two. there was a 95% chance that his yells would draw them within the building, and from there it was 50-50, whoever's traps they ran into first. His ultimatum also gave the others a false sense of security. If they thought the two boys were working together, they would be expecting to take advantage of the 'teammate caution' that surrounded tributes whose teammates were out of sight. Any noise could possibly be their teammate returning, and with proper acting on his side, he could turn their own deception against them.

Either way, he would slit the throat of whoever came his way.

In the cornicopia, still in his wiry web. I just realized that this might be the largest guy to girl ratio the SB games have had at any point, especially in the final few.

I was really surprised to hear Specs giving away his position like that. And he was right, I had nothing to lose by teaming up with him, but I also knew that the kid was smart and didn't care too much about any life other than his own. I would have to be careful with what I did next as I would also be giving away my position by talking to him.

I slowly followed his voice to a darkened room. That was probably his hideaway and from my angle, I couldn't see any of the traps that I knew would be there. Any other tribute would barge in only to be met with their death. I stood at the corner out of his sight and I spoke.

"Specs, I know what you are doing." There was no answer, so I went on, "You are trying to get me to lower my guard."

"You are out in the open. I'd say it worked." Specs called back.

"Oh no," I laughed, "I'm not as exposed as you think I am." I was referring to my noisemakers I had set up all over. None of them were set off, so I knew no one was in the building. We still had some time to talk.

"I was serious about the alliance." Specs said.

"I know, but I'm also not stupid enough to trust anybody this late in the game. I'm fine with working with you to get the last tributes out of the way, but there is no way I'm letting you anywhere near me."

"What do you propose then?"

"We each keep our safe rooms safe. The traps in our safe rooms will be unknown to both of us, but any trap outside of the safe rooms will not be set for either of us."

"Communication on trap setting then."

"Yes."

"Fine. We can do that."

"Good. Maybe I'll see you in the final two then. Of course, I'll be fine if we don't see each other though." With that I left his room. I was whistling again. I knew full well that he wouldn't be completely honest with me on what traps he will be setting and I had no intention of being honest with him either. I'll tell him about a couple of the traps I set in order to make him think that I would be dumb enough to trust him. Maybe then he would lower his guard and get caught in one of my other traps. I highly doubted it though, but if anything the shear amount of traps in the building would almost definitely catch the others.

Going back to his safe room to get ready to set more traps.

I had killed one rabbit on my way to the cornucopia, and skinned it. I gathered some wood and went to the middle of the cornucopia field. I;d be able to see anyone coming from there and I was near the fountain. As I carried the wood, I could feel it's weight like I never had before. Usually I was strong enough to hold eighty pounds, no complaint, but the arena was making me weak. The load I was carrying couldn't be more than thirty pounds, but I could still feel a little strain in my muscles. I was relieved when I got to the middle and could drop my load.

I started a fire and cooked the rabbit, eating it slowly. The sun was going down, but it was still bright out. There was no sign of the other three tributes, and no sign of a fight anywhere.

" Hey! Come and get me, you wimpy boys! What, scared of a girl? When I get to the Capitol, I'm telling everyone what A wimpy, sissy group of boys Panem had this year! Guess what? I've got food and water and you don't! I'll live and you'll starve!" I yelled. I'd doubted that it would have any effect, but If would give my general location out to people so they'd attack.

" You're ALL dead! Hahahahaha, DEAD!" I screamed, ending it by coughing. It was all an act, of course. I wasn't really g=crazy, but if I seemed to be cray and weak, then I would possibly make an attack come sooner.

As I chewed on my delicious rabbit and sipped clean water from the fountain, I did some thinking. At the end of the games, there was usually a final battle. Other tributes, careers usually, set up camps there. Other tributes would come in injured or being chased. The gamemakers would force the others to come to me, in the clearing, and I wouldn't be hurt. This would help me win.

I thought about who was left. Me, Taylor, The boy from 3, and a big scary guy from district ten. Not to big for me, though. Taylor would wait until the battle started, obviously he wouldn't attack me, then charge in. Victor, the guy from ten, might charge in to me, but maybe not. The little boy from 3 wouldn't charge, though. He'd wait until the fight was over. I didn't know much about him, but he was always tricky in training. He'd probably hide in a building and set traps all around it. My only hope was the gamemakers now. They'd want a bloody fight, not some tribute blowing up. It was odd, putting my life into the hands of the people trying to kill me, but I had to hope the gamemaker's would want a bloody end.

I still had my backpack with me from the start of the games. I'd barely used anything in it, but now would be the time. I put on the sweatshirt and socks. If felt nice to wear something clean, and I was glad i had waited. I'd eaten most of the jerky and crackers, but I finished them off.I put some of the poison on my sword, but kept the knife clean, in case I had to cut anything. I put the bug spray in my pocket, in case I lost my sword and knife and had to use it like pepper spray.

Now that I had all this clean water, I decided to wash. I had nothing else to do and I'll admit, I felt pretty grimy. Using some moss from the ground, I washed my arms, legs, hands, and face. I'd never felt cleaner in my life, and it was wonderful. Clean, full, and warm, I settled down next to my fire and waited.

I'm walking through the woods towards what I think is the Cornucopia. I can hear the faint trickling of water, and I know I'm close. I peek through bushes and I see the fountain. I look around, hoping no one else is around. I decide to take the long way around, because there might be someone hiding in the bushes. I slink around woods, until I arrive at the first building. I sit down for a moment to rest, and to make sure I haven't alerted anyone that I was there. I hear a voice in the distance.

"Hey! Come and get me, you wimpy boys! What, scared of a girl? When I get to the Capitol, I'm telling everyone what a wimpy, sissy group of boys Panem had this year! Guess what? I've got food and water and you don't! I'll live and you'll starve!" I shook my head and laughed. I recognized Sparkle's voice, and I knew what she was doing. She was trying to lure out the remaining people so she could attack them. Good strategy, but I'm not falling for it.

"You're ALL dead! Hahahahaha, DEAD!" She said. I knew she was bit of an actress, but we hadn't been separated for that long, and I knew she wasn't crazy. I don't know what would happen if she really did go crazy, because she was trained for this. I dismissed that thought and kept going. I realized she was by the fountain, so I couldn't go that way. I'd have to hope that the other tributes would go to her, and I would run in, hopefully after they were all wounded, and just finish them off. Of course, I'd want one of them to kill Sparkle, because I wasn't sure I could do it.

I kept going, this time just around the clearing. I was thinking I could just keep moving around, and if I saw another tribute I'd just kill them there. I sprinted by a doorway, hoping no one inside saw me.

Just then I stumbled and fell on my face. I looked at my feet and saw a trip wire. Just then an ear-splitting siren filled the air. I quickly regained my balance and ran as fast as I've ever ran before. I wasn't sure if anyone was following me, but I didn't want to turn around and check. I ran until I came to the edge of the clearing and dove into the bushes. I thought I heard someone yelling, and I thought it sounded like either Specs or Victor. I could only hope they wouldn't find me just yet.

Right outside the Cornucopia. You guys can decide who's trap it was (Specs or Victor's).
