Damn it. I've typed this WHOLE THING about six times because I'm switching between tabs, and the favorites bar is right about that, and I keep clicking it so I lose all my work. Stupid computer.

Name: Fawn

Age: 15

Gender: Female

Appearence: Her hair is purple, though, and her eyes are a stormy, burning green.

Wings: Black, with some feathers colored gray, white, and various shades of purple. But due to some wierd human thing, she can fold her wings completely into her back. Like, with skin over them and everything. She can unfold them when she wishes, and the skin over them just dissolves and BAH-BAM! Wings.

Personality: She's outgoing, very decieteful, and she can pick-pocket someone like no one's business. She has a lock-picking kit she has hidden in the fold of her left wing, which the lab specialists haven't found yet. When they give her her lab gown, she sometimes ties the single sting in such a way that she shows skin. She's a great friend, willing to die for the ones who care for her, but if you become her enemy, you may never wake up once you go to bed. Sometimes she wanders the halls at night, but doesn't escape, even though she can. No one knows why, and some even hate her for having the ability. She enjoys pulling tricks at night, too, and she rarely picks someone else's lock so they can escape.

Up For Love? Yes, and she's chased and courted by many youg men, and teases some of them before accepting their courtship.

Powers: Animal Freak

Secret: When she gets scared, mostly triggered by an adrenaline rush, she has the ability to use every power. However, she does not know how to control it. She only gets what is necessary for the situation at hand.

Yeah...This picture ended up here, so just...roll with it...

Fawn

I sat in my room, playing with my short hair and looking around at the room I'd been in for the past seven years. Suddenly, I heard a noise outside and peeked through the barred window, and saw Cree and Milo being hustled down the hall by two of the military men. Cree found my eyes and smiled, and I did my best to smile back. Cree was my very first friend here, and I sometimes called her my best friend. But I never got to see her. It's because I was different. The doctors had to test me seperately, but they wouldn't tell me why. Seeing them pushed to their rooms, I went to my bed and sat there, waiting for Dr. Delmovitz to come and get me.

I stared at the floor, and slowly unfolded my wings. They demanded that I have them out when I was taken to The Room. As I stared at my right wing, I felt a wave of sorrow come over me. Why did I have to be here? Why do we have to be stuck with needles daily just because we have wings? We could have friends and kids and families... If only these bastards would let us out. I scowled at my wing and turned my glare to the floor, just as Dr. Delmovitz came in.

"Well, well, well. Is our little Fawn upset?" He mocked. I turned my glare on him, knowing that I'd unnerve him and keep him off of his smartass tone. He cleared his throat and Threw the peach colored gown at me.

"You know the drill."

I sighed.

All too well.

Well, I think guns help. If you just stand there and yell BANG I don't think you're going to kill too many people...

I said that I didn't care if they had the same powers anymore.
Also, girl, if you want to go ahead with that idea you had before for her secret, go ahead.

Double post, whatever, bite me.

OK, I missed it while I was reading, but thanks to someone I won't be naming, I now know that some of the characters have been fighting the humans. I know it's no big deal, because it's a SB and it's supposed to go in different directions, but I said three times already to save the fighting for later. At least for when they escape. That's all I'm asking from you, the rest is perfectly fine. I'd like it if you would either edit your posts, or ignore them and re post. That's all I'm asking, you think you guys can try to do that simple task? Save to fighting for later?

Thank you,

If it doesn't have to much fighting in it, it's fine. If they're fighting against the humans, then change it please. Thankies.

Cree

I wanted, very honestly, to break these morons. You know, the ones clutching my arm and whispering that maybe they should get zip ties for my wings. Then, I'd grab Milo and we'd run to Fawn's room and break her out. And then we'd get all the others and fly around the world.

As soon as I regained feeling in my arms.

It hurt me to see Fawn given different treatment than us. Was she better? God- worse? Was there something wrong? Was she terminal? Were her wings sub-par? But the last one was stupid. Nothing about Fawn was sub-par. Me? I was the red-head with the short fuse who was best friends with the purple-haired girl and the boy with black wings, who didn't know how awesome said wings were.

I shook my head, glancing at Milo. He gave me a smile that made my heart lurch, and I returned it. Stupid, stupid Cree! You can not get a crush on Milo now. No. Not when you're trying to get Fawn back and there's a new girl who needs to learn that she's not a misunderstood, utterly unique-and-incredible-in-every-way-and-the-most-beautiful-girl-on-earth teen with the awful life.

I shook my head and grimaced as the grip on my arm tightened, and then smiled for myself.

At least we'd always have punch buddy.

I explained the best way I knew to. My voice was low, and we were all huddled in a group. I knew we looked suspicious, but I didn't care, Dr. Chevek wouldn't let any of those people hurt us. There were still people coming in, and I was so tired, I just wanted to get this little speech over with before I passed out. They were all waiting for me to say something, and when I finally did, my voice was soft, gentle.

"Thanks to someone very..." I searched for the word. "I have information that we all need to know. It's the reason we're here, the reason we're still alive. They're raising us to fight. Fight against a beast just as powerful as we are, if not stronger. I know there are a few of us like me"--I pointed to myself--"don't like to fight. But we're going to have to if we want to get out. I'm not to thrilled about any of this, but this will end in one of two things. Freedom...or death. The east wing is being destroyed, thus there will be a way out for all of us. Unfortunately, the guards in that sector will be tripled, making it hard to escape without being seen. Further talk about it as well as planning will have to be later." I closed my eyes, not believing this was happening. "No one speaks of this to anyone, no one mentions this around anyone, no one fights against the doctors, though I know it's hard not to. But most of us have been here for eighteen years, others not so long. We can do this if you just let me get it all settled." I opened my eyes. "And no speak of the powers." I knew. Most of us knew about each other, just the scientist didn't know. "No practice other than in our private rooms."

That was the best I could do to help them. To help us. I couldn't be with them every minute of every day, though I wish I could have. I wanted to just be able to hold their hands and lead them to safety. But I couldn't, and I had to be strong, and I had to make myself fight. It wasn't my nature, I didn't fight, couldn't fight.

"You have a choice," I whispered, barely audible, wiping the fresh tears from my eyes. The thought of them being hurt made me sad. "You can join me and I'll lead you to safety, one way or another, or you can stay here and be tested on like a lab rat. The decision is up to you." With that, I stood up and walked away from the table. I had cut into their eating time, but it was useful information. Someone touched my arm gently, and I turned around to look at them.

Cree

I recoiled instantly. I was getting major-mega-bad vibes from her, but I needed to ask.

"Kat... I was just wondering..." I looked at my feet, bare and unnaturally clean. Blasted doctors. "I was just wondering if you'd let me do the fighting. Others will do it with me, but I know you don't like fighting. I just... wanted to save you the trouble."

It was true. Not just that I wanted to ease Kat's stress, but also that I was entirely willing to fight to the death over this. What Kat had explained... it meant we were being raised to be the children of war. Created to kill. The thought made my stomach knot. "And, um, if I could tell Fawn. She could be a really big help, I think."

Kat's eyelids flickered, and I wished I hadn't asked. "Yeah," she mumbled. "Go ahead. And... er... thanks..."

I nodded and walked back to Milo. "What's the verdict, Red?"

He'd always nicknamed me red. Last name was Scarlet, wings and hair were both red- it made sense."Officially going to be able to do the fighting. Most, anyway. And I'm telling Fawn about this, Kat's cleared it."

"Cool."

I hesitated. It was on the tip of my tongue to say something I'd probably regret, but I was trying to be more rational. If we were ever going to escape, it would have to be soon. Cree Scarlet couldn't just be the wisecrack redhead with a tendency to resort to violence anymore. She had to be the strategic, brave, enduring fighter her friends needed.

So I ate the bland, barely colored mush on my plate, not saying a word.

Fawn

After the painful testing of needles being stuck into almost every part of me as a result of my escape, I joined the others after their lunch, since the doctors made me eat before testing. I drifted quietly back to where Cree was walking when she looked around and pulled me into her room.
"Hey! What are you--" I was cut off as she put her hand over my mouth, and gave me a shut-up-or-I'll-rip-your-wings-off-glare. I nodded, and she pulled her hand away.
"We're breaking out of this death trap," She whispered. "And Kat's going to help us. But we have to fight for it, and hard. I've already volunteered to do some of it, because Kat doesn't like to fight, and we all know you're going to want to fight with me. Some of us will get hurt, some of us will die. But we will not go down without a fight. We're still pulling the plans together, so if you can convince that crazy bastard who tests you to let you eat and be examined with us, we'll be able to plot without much notice. You in?"
I didn't know what to say. Break out? What if we got caught? What if we were forced under even more strict probations? The risks were great, but so was the reward. I'd always wanted to leave with a scene, and not quietly like I'd been able to the nights when I wandered around. This was great. I had to, and if I was lost, I'd die fighting for my-- and more importantly, Cree's-- freedom.

"I'm in." I whispered.

Cree

I beamed at Fawn, giving her a brief hug before dragging her back to the hall, where I caught up with Milo.

"Mi! Fawn's in."

Milo visibly relaxed. "Good." He paused. "Mi?"

"I dunno, heat of the moment nickname?"

He shrugged. I linked arms with Fawn, her wing overlapping mine. Her wings pretty much overlapped everyone's. So from behind, you saw a huge pair of bluey- white wings, and half of one wing of each, red and black. Fawn really did look happy- at the very least, excited. It made me happy.

Milo glanced at me, with a look that read, "We good, ready?" I sent back a look of, "I think." He sent me a quick smile and I smiled back, hoping I didn't look like an idiot.

The floor was crazy-cold, and I wished all of the sudden they let us wear shoes, or even socks. But no. Bare feet are better for experimentation, aren't they?

I don't give a rat's tail about bettering experimentation.

Fawn

As Milo, Cree, and I sauntered down the hall, I thought about getting Dr. Delmovitz to let me be normal, for once, and the only way to do that was to get him fired. I smiled to myself.
"Fawn, what cruel idea is running through your head right now?" Cree joked, and I turned and whispered in her ear.
"I'm getting Delmovitz fired." Cree looked shocked.
"Get a lab specialist fired? How the hell do you plan to do that?" We were coming up on our rooms now.
"By trashing my room and making the men think he hurt me. They all know he drinks, he reeks of alcohol every time I see him. They'll believe it. And since the room is going to be REALLY trashed, they'll make me stay with someone else. And knowing how stupid they are, they'll make me room with a girl. And by my telling them I hate you, which of course I don't, they'll make me room with you." I studied Cree's face, only to see shock engraved in her features.
"Well," she said. "I'll have the spare bed ready when you arrive." I smiled at her and double checked that I could feel the tingling of the ability to turn into animals when I walked into my room.

Cree

As Fawn left for her room with a wink, me and Milo were left standing in the hall. I had a sudden burst of laughter and reigned it in quickly at Milo's raised eyebrow. Milo really was the boy next door, wasn't he?

"What do you think, Mi?"

"Umm... sorry?"

"Where is your head sometimes?" I laughed. Without thinking, I grabbed his hair and shook him, feeling my wings curve around. I wanted to faint, and I actually thought I might. He was just so... close, and his hair was so blasted thick... Stop thinking like that, Scarlet! Bad!

I was proud of myself, though, as he laughed back. I thought I heard him sigh, but for my own good, ignored it. I thwacked his head gently and let my arms drop, not letting my instincts make me bolt. I took half a space back, not wanting to crowd him, but kept rather close. This was too nice.

God, who was I anymore?
