I twiddled my fingers as I sat by Safari. He was giving me a lecture. I looked at him with annoyance.
"Oh, what do you know? You're a cat!" With that, I stuffed him under my pillow. Safari's response was muffled. "Yeah, I know I am too, but that's beside the point." I pulled him out and laid down, staring at the ceiling until I fell asleep.
That night, I dreamt of us breaking out. About all of us using our powers to strike down the Cretans who had imprisoned us here for so long. I woke up that morning, very disappointed that it had only been a dream. Not much longer now, but it would be a reality.
I ate "breakfast" with Fawn and we went over to begin training. This was one of my favorite days, because nothing relieves stress better than beating the crap out of an innocent being after a long day of testing. For me, anyway. Especially when the human was an amateur fighter.
Either this guy was playing like he couldn't fight well or they gave him to the wrong kid. Every jab with the man's pole was dodged by catlike reflexes, and followed up with a counterattack at the speed of a striking cobra. Thank you, animal instincts!
Suddenly, there was a little yelp and Fawn was on the ground. My eyes widened a little and my jaw dropped slightly. I raised an eyebrow in wonder. I delivered a final roundhouse kick to the guy's face before dropping the pole and quitting for the moment. I watched Fawn once I finished. She was giving in to the human; letting him finish her off. Surely, after what I had seen of her room yesterday, this was not how she usually handled combat?
