***Man, this is gonna be fun... I'm still not fully recovered yet, so if my writing is a bit off, just tell me and I'll fix it later. I passed out cold only about two hours ago...***

Jordan

He huffed, turning away and going into the kitchen. He started throwing something together for his dinner. "Who said I wanted your thanks and gifts?" he snarled.

She was patient as she followed him, leaning against the door frame and watching him, her slightly seductive smile never faltering. "Jordachko, it is customary in my country to give gifts to friends and co-workers... Would you have me break a tradition?"

He lifted an eyebrow at her. "What did you call me?"

"Jordachko. It is a name of affection."

He growled, looking away again. He pushed those comments aside; best not to let it anger him, and then he could focus better. "You hid things from me. Why didn't you tell me the whole truth, about these damn orb things? If I'm to do my best and get you what you want, then why the secrets? That only hinders me and my progress."

Takeo

It was the second night sleeping on a sofa for Takeo and he was fast deciding that he didn't like it at all. Sitting up slowly, he cringed at the ache in his muscles and stared dismally at what remained of his clothes. They were covered in blood and holes. It was a wonder that they still resembled clothes at all but the wires had been so fine as to leave enough threads for them to hold together. Maybe Ren would have something he could wear.

Taki stood up cautiously, searching out the damage to his skin. It was hurting more today. Probably the lack of adrenaline and fear running through his veins. Fear. That was strange but he really didn't feel afraid this morning. He had the weight of the orb in his hand and if those goons showed up, he was going to send them flying. Except... that hadn't worked before so why did he think it would now? Idiot. Of course he wouldn't; he had every right to be afraid.

There were sounds coming from the next room. "You up, Ren?" Taki called. "Because I could really do with some new clothes. You mind lending me some? I can even pay if you like, I've got a ridiculous amount of money on me afterall." And hopefully he'd get a chance to really buy some clothes today, or would they be expecting that? Man. There really didn't seem to be anywhere he could go that they wouldn't have thought of first!

"Thanks for letting me stay here by the way."

(Surprisingly enough, I managed to fight off my cold and get all my assignments finished. Now I have one week to kick back and relax before I have to pack my stuff up and go home for the holidays. I hope the rest of you were able to finish all of your stuff before the end of the semester.)

Jordan

Anzhela seemed amused by Jordan's frustration. She sat down on the edge of his bed and said, "It was simply a precaution. I need to make sure I can trust you before giving you more information. There are many people in the world who would do anything for the power given to them by the Zodiac Stones."

"Like the people who stole Aries from you?" Jordan asked.

She nodded. "Precisely."

"Even so, you should have told me about these things in the first place. It's not like I can use the one I'm trying to get back for you." Jordan decided to change the subject because there was something else he wanted to know. "Who are these people who stole the orb from your group? I think it's only fair that I should know what I'm up against."

Anzhela smiled and said, "Fair enough. The group who stole the orb from us is a secret magical branch of the Church of England called the Church of Necessary Evil, also known as Necessarius for short. It was originally founded by Puritans who despised the use of magic in England and sought to destroy it by using magic themselves. Ironically, the organization turned into the very thing it was fighting against. Necessarius is the driving force behind the Anglican Church and is not to be taken lightly."

Ren

Ren walked out of his room and handed Takeo a spare school uniform. "No problem. People need to stick together at times like these."

"By the way, where did Cait end up sleeping?" Taki asked.

"I let her use my bed, it didn't feel right making her sleep on the floor," he said as he tried to rub a crick out of his neck. Ren had taken the floor instead, and his body was starting to feel the pain from it. "Anyway, get dressed. We've still got school to go to today."

Takeo remembered that his retest was today. With the orb in his possession he would be able to ace it no problem. But what if their enemies were there waiting for them? Was passing some test worth endangering his friends? Well, they were already in danger, so what's the point in holding back? That's what Takeo had to keep telling himself, anyway.

The doorbell rang while they were changing into their school uniforms. As they quickly tried to put on the rest of their clothes Takeo asked, "Who could that be?"

"It's probably Lena and the others," Ren said as he went to answer the door, only to find that the people on the other side were not their friends. It was the black cloaked fire guy and the swordswoman who attacked them yesterday.

I'll try to get something up in a few days but I'm moving home for Christmas tomorrow and will be back to borrowing computer time until I get my present lol. It's a busy time of year for me anyway so I will be a little sparse.

Takeo

Still pulling on his socks, Takeo glanced up as Ren went to answer the door. "You guys should have gone straight to... school." Aw man. Just when he was starting to think they'd found a safe place and those goons showed up! "You guys again! Oh let me guess, you want the orb," he snarled. Taki gave the sock one last tug and then stood there, one sock off and one sock on, feeling like a fool. Ren was slowly backing away from the door.

"Some friends of yours?" he asked with a meaningful glance behind him.

"You know, this could have been so easy," the swordwoman said as she stepped into the room ahead of the fire guy. Well. At least he knew they were working together now, no chance of playing them off of one another.

"I'm sure you'd have loved that," Taki snorted. He wondered which of the two was in charge and hoped it was the fire dude. Scary as he was, at least he'd been stupid enough to fall for a few of their tricks. "Look, we're rather busy here and-"

"What's going on?" A sleepy Cait asked as she walked through from Ren's bedroom and stared at the new arrivals. Takeo was going to make another smart remark, or at least what he thought of as a smart remark but their 'friends' were clearly done talking. A fire ball erupted through the room and the students were forced to jump out of the way. And the fire didn't die down so Takeo found himself at one side of the room and through the scorching haze, he could just make out Ren and Cait at the other.

***I will try to post throughout this break. I just got back from a Bowl Game in New Orleans - Go Troy! - and now I'm heading to Florida. My drive is gonna be between 5 and 7 hours, and then I don't have a clue what I'll be doing down there. But I will try and get something on here, in all our stuff!***

If Cait hadn't been fully awake before, she was now. She started to panic as the flames began to spread throughout the apartment. But then Ren held out his arm toward the flames and they all slowly dissipated. As long as Ren had the power to control fire, he had the power to make it disappear as well. When all the fire was gone the three of them got back to their feet and regrouped.

The fire dude cocked an eyebrow at Ren. "A pyrokinetic, interesting."

The swordswoman shot him a look. "Stiyl, we don't have time to be admiring them. Let's take what we came for and leave." The girl began to draw her sword.

Takeo acted out of desperation and threw a blast of his telekinesis at the enemies. With the power from the orb resting in his pocket he was able to throw them both out of the room and against the hallway balcony railing. They took the opening and used it to run out of Ren's apartment and down the hall toward the stairs. Even if they did stand a chance against those two they wouldn't have enough room to fight in Ren's place without destroying it, so their only option was to run.

"I take it those two are the ones who've been attacking you guys?" Ren asked Taki as they ran.

Cait

She panted as she kept her pace with them. This was more dangerous than she thought. What in the world had she done, getting involved?

"Now, what?!" she screamed.

"Get away from the apartments - the people!" Ren answered. "Get somewhere where we can fight easily!"

She whimpered. A fight? She never was fond of that, but if it came to it... She swallowed. "What about an abandoned building, or a parking lot? Out in the open, away from everything?"

Takeo

"Yeah. They are," Taki agreed with Ren as they hurried down the stairs. He felt bad for bringing Cait and Ren into this and cringed at the sound of panic in her voice. He figured she was only just now realising how bad things were. They'd agreed to help out without really knowing and he felt like it was his responsibility, like he should have explained the dangers or refused their help. Maybe. Except that would have left him as dead and it was hard to be selfless. Takeo really did not want to be dead.

"What about an abandoned building, or a parking lot? Out in the open, away from everything?"

"I'd rather have things to duck behind," Takeo grumbled unhelpfully as they hit the bottom of the stairs and flew out the building. At least we seem to be faster runners... They hesitated for a second and then Ren pointed out a street and they hurried down it. A few people glanced their way but most assumed it was just a couple of school kids late for school.

"There's a closed down mattress factory just a few streets over," Ren said. Great. Maybe there'd be piles of mattresses, those would sure make some nice funeral pyres.

"Alright, that will do," Takeo replied tiredly. He almost didn't care anymore. He just wanted to stop running. He just... he wanted to never have found the orb, no matter how much it felt right in his pocket.

Lena

As soon a I started walking home with Akaya, I felt the exhaustion of the day start to kick it. Akaya must have felt it too because a sudden yawn excepted her mouth. I grinned and told Akaya that they would be at my house soon.

After walking a couple minutes, we finally arrived at my house. I unlocked the door, then proceeded to hold it opened for Akaya to enter. I shut and locked the door behind us. I wiggled the knob just to make sure, it would not budge. Nodding to myself, I turned to find Akaya just simply looking around.

“Hey,” I stated “Do you want to take a shower while I cook dinner?”

She nodded in response. I then glided over to my dresser to pull out clothes that she could barrow while she was here. Showed her how to work the shower, then left her alone. I strolled over to my refrigerator to see what I could cook, ends up I had Chicken Fired Rice that I could cook up really quick.

Right as I got done, there was a knock at the door. Stopping what I was doing, I carefully walked over to the door, unlocked it and peeked though. It was just Jordan. Sighing in relief, I opened the door and let him in. After Akaya got out of the shower, we all ate dinner then got to bed.

-----next morning-----

I starched as sat up from the couch. Looking around I smiled slightly at Akaya and Jordan sleeping forms. Deciding it was time to get ready for school, I took a quick shower and got ready. When I walked out of the bathroom, they were both ready to go.

We took the bus to school, and noticed that Taki, Ren and Cait were not at the bus stop. Looking at each other we decided that we should go check up and see what was going on. By the time we got there, the door was left opened and there was no one inside. I felt the panic slowly start to kick in.

(Sorry guys, I don't think I'll be able to post for a while. So many new video games to play, so little time. I'll try to think something up if I can pry myself away from my new PS3 long enough to do so. Merry Christmas everyone!)

(I'm going to try and post something now, hopefully we can get the storybook up and running again after the holidays. I hope you guys had fun this Christmas and new year.)

Ren

The three of them raced toward the factory in hopes that they would at least be able to find a hiding place before the bas guys caught up. The arrived only to find a locked fence blocking their path. Barbed wires on the top prevented them from being able to climb over.

"I've got this," Takeo said. He sent foward a telekinetic blast that ripped the wiring of the fence open, allowing them to slip through the gap one at a time. They quickly found an unlocked door into the warehouse only to find very little in the way of hidding spots. The warehouse was empty save for a couple of empty metal shelves bunched up together against the far wall.

"Great, now what?" Cait asked.

"We'll try to ambush them once they come in," Ren told them. "The first chance we get to escape, we take it."

"Then I guess we'd better not give you that chance," a voice from behind said. Everyone looked back and saw the fire guy and swordswoman standing at the entrance. So much for trying to ambush them.

(I'm planning something to happen in my next post, so just have everyone try to fight them until it's my turn again.)

Ayaka

Ayaka could see the beginnings of panic in Lena's eyes. "I'm sure they're fine," Ayaka said, trying to reasure her. "Maybe they just got to school before us and Ren forgot to close his door."

"Are you blind?" Jordan asked. "They were obviously attacked. One look inside the apartment will tell you that much." He pointed inside toward the large scorch mark on the carpet.

"This is not good," Lena said. "They're in danger and we don't even know where they are. We should have all stayed together last night."

They heard footsteps coming down the stairs. When they turned to see who they belonged to a frantic looking Index appeared. The girl looked up and down the hall with a despirate sweep of her eyes.

"Index, what's wrong?" Ayaka asked.

"We heard what sounded like an explosion a couple of moments ago. Before I could figure out what was going on, Toma was already out the door."

"A few moments ago? Then that means they shouldn't be that far," Lena said. "We have to find them!"

"But how?" Ayaka asked. "We don't even know where they might be heading!"

Jordan looked over the edge of the railing to the streets below to try and come up with some idea of where to look first when he noticed Ren's friend Toma running out the building and down the street. "That Kamijo kid seems to know where he's going," he pointed out.
