think you said it enough?

~Ellie May~

I heard something above me, and I spotted someone fly down towards me. "Hello," they said in a friendly tone. I turned shyly and looked at them. "Who're you?" someone else asked, joining us in the forest where I had been hidden.
"Ellie," I whispered nervously. I had backed against the trunk of one of the trees behind me. Who were these people? I asked myself. They seemed friendly, whoever they were. I would've kept quiet, but they seemed to be friendly enough, I thought I could trust them. "Don't worry," he said softly. "You're among friends." And I belived him. I already felt safe. A girl flew down to join us. By now, I felt like the center of attention, not the place I like being. Sh stared at me for a minute, then murmured my name. We all looked at her. She seemed familiar to me somehow. I looked deep into her face. I couldn't put it together. I'd seen her before, but I couldn't recall where!

Sunstarfrozenlife, I'll be sure we keep you involved and don't loose you.

Kaylee:

I supressed a frown and said to Blaise "I agree that it's unlikely she's not alive." He averted his eyes to the ground. Lifting his chin with my index finger I added "But it's not impossible. The wolves have only recently become agressive. It was a year ago Blaise. Wolves can be lovely and nurturing creatures. Perhaps when I get partially healed I'll help you look for her, okay?"

He gave a somber nod. My hearing averted to a new voice appearing amoung the familiar ones. When a new girl appeared I instinctivly tried to stand up to great her and make her feel welcome. Blaise pulled me back down before I could.

Instead of walking over I called "Ester, can you bring her over here?" Ester brought the girl over.

Patting the ground I said "Have a seat." The poor girl was drenched and her eyes wide with fear. I gave her an apologetic smile "Sorry. Normaly I would come to you but I'm afraid most of us are suffering from injuries, including myself."

When she sat I held out my hand and said "Hello darling, I'm Kaylee. Kind of the leader but not really. And who are you sweetie?" She shook my hand quickly and said nervously "I'm Ellie." I gave her another smile "Don't worry, we don't bite. Only the wolves do."

She glanced at my leg quickly. I got a tense feeling from Blaise and placed my hand on his leg to soothe him. Giving Ellie anotehr smile I said "Well you are most definiatly welcome here with us. We're going through a rough spot right now but we'll pulling through."

I turned my eyes to the people bringing back sticks for the houses. Nudging Blaise with the hand already on his leg I said "Oh Blaise! They have the frames! Make a hut with me please!" He gave a nod and stood up to get the wood for frames.

As I landed I winced then staggered over to sit by Kaylee. I leaned against the cave wall and closed my eyes. The conversations I overheard slowly faded into an annoying buzzing. My mind was blank except for the shivers that ran through my body. Ever sense the rain I hadn’t been able to get warm.

I unconsciously felt something being draped over my body. I curled up into it enjoying the heavy feel of it.

I stared at the friendly girl, but only for a moment. I couldn't afford to be off guard if these people turned on me. I kept my long black wings around my arms, keeping me warm. I was soaking wet from the swim I had when they dropped me off in the water, hoping I would drown. I could only imagine what I looked like to all of them.

"Hello darling, I'm Kaylee. Kind of the leader but not really. And who are you sweetie?" the girl who had called me over asked tentatively. "I'm Ellie," I said, still nervous. I glanced around the room once again, keeping my eyes alert and focused in case I was being attacked. Obviously, this wouldn't be the first time I had been attacked. Kaylee stuck her hand out, and I shook it quickly and nervously, hoping they would all be this friendly. "Don't worry, we don't bite. Only the wolves do." This sounded as though she meant it to be a joke, but it didn't seem all that funny. I'd seen the wolves. In fact, I'd been running from one when they had found me.

I felt tension with the boy sitting next to her, and my eyes kept wandering back to him, keeping a tab on him the most. She seemed to have felt the tension, and she placed her hand on his leg. I glanced down at her leg. It was obvious I wasn't the only one that had encountered the wolves. Her leg was badly wounded. It looked like a wolf had bitten her.

Some people came in the caves carrying sticks. Kaylee nudge the boy with the hand she had placed on his leg. "Oh Blaise! They have the frames! Make a hut with me please!" He nodded, stood, and left to get the wood frames.

This all seemed awkward to me. They seemed like a family; a family I was sure I would never be in. I sensed something far from here, and I closed my eyes and concentrated very hard. This was something I had practiced a hundred times. The picture I saw was very clear, as if I was looking at a photograph:

Tall trees surrounding a clearing full of flowers of every color. I heard a waterfall somewhere behind me, and I smelled rain in the air; a musty, wet-dog smell filled my nose as well. But it wasn't the beauty of the flowers and the clearing, or the calming sound of the waterfall, or the fresh rain smell that caught my attention. I also saw wolves; some dark brown, some lighter. Some dark black, some off white. But the wolf that lead them into the deep forest was huge and tan mixed with black and dark brown. The leader growled then howled, and the others joined in. What was created was a beautiful but dangerous sound.

My eyes flew open, and I searched the room again, still not used to seeing things others didn't. This was an awkward talent that I'd found I had when I was very young. I could see something far off that was happening at the time. This had scared me at first, but I sort of got used to it. Who could really get used to something like that?

"The wolves," I whispered, my voice scratchy. Kaylee looked at me, her face completely serious, though puzzled. "I saw them; they're coming." I said this to only her, not wanting to scare the others, though I thought they must have heard me anyway in the silence, because they all froze. She looked at me like I was crazy; her eyes portraying it all.

"The wolves," said the new girl, Ellie, I thought it was. "I saw them, they're coming."

It seemed she meant it to be for Kaylee's ears alone, but in the silence it rang through the mountaintop. Everybody froze in an awkward silence. Finally I couldn't take it anymore.

"What is that supposed to mean?" I asked, just touching the tip of accusatory.

She looked like she wanted to take it back, but couldn't.

"I--I can see things," she stammered. "Things that are happening now, but not here. I saw the wolves. And they're coming."

My body tensed up; I was not ready for another fight. Then again, I was no worse off than anyone... expect they could fly away....

"They can't make it up here," I said in a matter of fact way.

She looked down. "They're coming," she whispered again, and again it rang softly through our temporary home.
"Blah blah blah. You feel trapped in your life. Here is what I am hearing: happiness isn't worth any inconvenience."

One of the girls heard my words echoing off the caves, and she asked "What is that supposed to mean?" I looked up at her, wishing I could take back my words. All I was doing was causing more drama to what looked like enough.

"I--I can see things," I said, my voice breaking. "Things that are happening now, but not here. I saw the wolves. And they're coming."

Her body tensed, as did everyone else's. "They can't make it up here," she argued. I looked away, not wanting to see the fury in her eyes. I couldn't take seeing that I'd started something...I wanted to take it back...wished I could take it back...but it was too late.

"They're coming," I whispered again, my voice echoing again through the caves. I was determined to make them believe. I knew those wolves weren't like any other. They were sent to kill, and they would do it, no matter what they had to do. These weren't the average wolves.

I sat there for a little over an hour, my legs curled up to my chest, my wings folded around me. M y clothes had dried, but my teeth still chattered together. I had my eyes closed, listening to the soft music of everyone's' voices talking about my words. Had I really started this, or had it already begun before I'd seen it?

I must have fallen asleep, because the smell of freshly cooked fish woke me up. I could hear my stomach growling, but I restrained it. I did not deserve to eat these people's food; not after what I'd started earlier. They began passing it around. Then it got to me.

"Would you like some food?" Kaylee asked me nicely. I simply shook my head. "You'll need your strength if you're going to train tomorrow," Blaise--if I was correct, that was his name--said sternly. There was little conversation while everyone ate.

"Please eat," Kaylee begged. I sighed. If it was to help them fight, I couldn't say no. The fish tasted really good compared to the food they gave me when they had me locked up. Tomorrow, I would definitely spread my wings again. I hadn't flown sense they had tried to drag me from my home in Philadelphia. I'd jumped off a building when they were chasing me, but I had to rest sometime. So that was fist on my list of things to do.

Blake

The next morning, every able-bodied winged one trained. I joined them, even though it was nearly impossible with my leg. My leg hurt every time I put any sort of weight on it. I didn't care. I had gone through worse, and if the wolves were coming, I would be desperately needed.

And the wolves were coming. Though I can't say I trusted that girl, somehow I knew she was right.

I went to train, but not with the rest of them. I drifted off toward the side, as I often did. I preferred to train alone, or sometimes with Blaise, but he was busy with worrying too much about Kaylee, and training the new girl.

I went through my usual formations with my daggers. It looked as though I was doing some sort of Native American dance ritual, but it helped me the most when I went solo. And it's slow pace was all I could handle with my leg.

With every step, every turn, pain rippled through my calf and my knee. My muscles strained and ached. Beads of sweat, which formed in my deep concentration, rolled down my forehead.

It felt wonderful.

My blood was pumping, and my breath was forced steady. I pushed my limits, and found them further than I expected.

Occasionally someone would glance over at me, but I made no eye contact. The fire that pulsed in my twin, blue seeing spheres would have frightened any grown man. But that's because if any grown man saw it, they would soon be seeing up at themselves. Headless.

I felt the rhythm of the steady ground and it didn't take much to block out the world. That was just how it was when I trained, or when I fought.

When I took a short break, and downed some water, I noticed Michel had been staring at me again. Surprising even myself, it didn't annoy me half as much as last time.

I didn't dwell on this long, though, and was soon training again.

How I wished the time to truly fight would never come. And yet, I wished it would be here already, so I could fight, and finish them off, or die trying. With me, there was no compromise. Do or die. Do or die.

I woke to the smell of fish. I sat up and realized someone had put a blanket on me. I ached all over. Even my neck was sore now from sleeping with it crooked all night. I walked over to the fire someone had made. Kaylee gave me some food and I ate it faster than a starving coyote. I hadn’t realized I was so hungry, and I had to strain not to ask for more. Are food was probably going to be on rations now. I listened to the conversations filling myself in on the things I’d missed.

The new girl, Ellie, had predicted that the wolves were regrouping quickly and were going to strike again. Some people believed her. Others didn’t, but everyone was going to get busy. Some people were going out to collect more food and supplies while others were heading off to train. I didn’t know if I should believe this girl or not. She didn’t say much, and her eyes kept flicking back and forth watching us warily like we were the wolves.

As I stood up my back cracked and pain ripped through all my wounds. I grabbed my stuff (someone had laid it next to me while I slept) and headed out with a training party. The air was cool after the rain, and white fluffy clouds dotted the sky. A slight breeze blew through my hair. When we landed I walked off a little ways from the group and stuck my head phones in. I could always concentrate better with music.

I took out my two daggers and began to swing them in the air. I made myself practice moves I could use against the wolves, and pretty soon I was totally zoned into my fight. After about 40 minutes sweat covered my back and my wounds had gone from an ache to a burn. I stopped to get some water from the stream nearby. It was the one that led to the waterfall. I pulled out my music and splashed the water over my face and arms.
I paused for a moment and saw Blake training. She glanced my way, but ignored me.

~Ellie May~

The next day, I sat on the side while the rest of them trained. I would train some other time while i was alone. i couldn't train if I knew I was being watched. I wasn't long before the rhythm of them training as one made me tired. I stood and looked up at the sky. My long black wings stretched out at least fifteen foot. They flapped freely in the gently blowing wind. I felt free for once in three years. I took a running start, then jumped, using my wings and leverage to make my body go upwards. I soared through the sky, feeling like a bird. This was the moment of truth; could my wings stand the pressure of a high flight? I floated with the clouds for a long while, then swooped down towards the trees. I heard a frightening howl, and I landed in the top of one of the trees. A huge pack of wolves were looking up into the sky, and I hoped they didn't see me. A growl came from the largest one as he put his front two paws on the trunk of the tree and growled up at me. My body shook and I fell backwards, trying to escape the sight of the wolf. I fell through the leaves of the tree, and landed in the bushes below.

I felt something wet on my arm, and I looked at my elbow. Blood dripped from a fresh cut. But I didn't have time to worry about that. The wolves were heading strait for me. I stumbled back farther. The largest one nipped my leg as I scooted back. He tore my pants, and I jumped farther back from him. Another jumped over him, landing on top of me. His teeth ripped open my arm, and it began bleeding. I screamed, hoping someone would hear me before my eyes closed unwillingly and I was unconscious before I knew it.

Corbin~

I watched the new girl while I ate my fish. She seemed lost and confused, like we all had on our first day. I walked over and sat next to her. "Corbin." I said extending my hand. She glanced at me but didn't say anything. Poor thing I thought, what did they do to her down at the main land? I smiled at her, not wanting to give up. She'll learn to trust us. "Well, I just wanted to welcome you to the family." I said standing up. She looked at me like I had just said the most ridiculous thing. Family? her eyes seemed to say. I think I saw a flash of hope flicker through her tired eyes.

Next morning-

Everyone was out and about practicing their fighting skills. I had already worked on my bow and arrow, now I was off to train with my dagger. I walked past Michael, he was practicing his dagger skills; and Kaylee, she was doing what she could with her bad leg. But I stopped when I came up to Blaise. He was working with the bow. When I walked up to him he didn't even notice me. He pulled back the bow string, but before he let fly I bumped his elbow. The arrow went into the bushes. Blaise turned around and put his hands on his hips. I couldn't hold in my laughter.
"Keep practicing." I yelled over my shoulder as I walked away.

I saw Ester practicing with her dagger, and I walked over. I stood in the shade of a tree and watched her. She was jumping around, fighting her pretend opponent. Her skill was amazing. But her feet were clumsy. I could help her on that I thought. She came closer. Still not seeing me, she slashed in my direction. Suddenly I came out of the shadow and parried her blow with my dagger. She gasped in surprise, but then her eyes squinted in determination and she cut another slice at me. I leaped back. Before I knew it we were slashing, dodging and cutting in an intense battle with eachother. It felt good.

Basically, the people who abandoned us on the island found out we're still alive, and sent a HUGE pack of ferocious wolves to kill us. We had to flee to the mountaintop. A new girl was found, and she can see things that are happening now, but not where she is, like farther away. She saw the wolves getting ready to attack. She told everyone, but not everyone believes her. We're all training like mad anyways.

The new girl--Ellie--decided to fly some, but found herself amidst some wolves and is getting attacked.

Kaylee and Blaise like each other, though they haven't openly declared their feelings. Michel likes Blake, though she started out hating him, and is starting to tolerate him. Corbin likes Ester, but we don't know if she likes him or not.

Did I get this all right, guys? I think so....
