Selene I heard what the guard had said and I tightened my grip on Tarrion. She would never make me despise Tarrion no matter what she did I didn't care she wouldn't no matter what.
"You are without a doubt, the worst pirate I've ever heard of."
Tar and Sel are captured...umm....Tarrion attempted to strangle Kale after he almost broke him and Selene up... Anything I'm missing? Oh! You guys are at the palace with Rajun dressed as servants or something trying to free Sel and Tar.
I thought about what the guard had said. What the heck could she do to make two lovers hate eachother? I didn't care to find out.
I kissed Selene's head repeatedly, trying to take my mind of things. I kept glaring at guards who passed. The one who had warned me always shot me a sympathetic glance. I began to wonder if we could convince him to help us escape. Probably not.
I was slowly going crazy. I needed to get up, to move. I gave Selene a gentle shove off of my lap and stood to my feet, wobbling slightly. "What are you doing Tar?" she whispered.
I sighed. "No idea. I just have to move a bit before I loose all of my precious sanity," I grumbled. She didn't answer.
I began to pace around the cell, wondering what would happen to us. As if on cue, a large guard approached our cell and grabbed my shoulders. Another came for Selene. We were marched up the stairs and into the room--A wave of panic washed over me. This was the room they had beaten me in the first time. This time Selene was with me. My eyes widened in horror.
I noticed the confusion in Selene's eyes. She had no clue how horrible this room was...what it meant that we were now in it. I stiffened up and shifted uneasily on my feet. "Sel..." I murmered into her ear so that only she could hear it.
"Hmm?" She looked frightened, but she obviously couldn't comprehend what this meant...she hadn't been here with me the first time.
"This is where they beat me the first time." I paused and watched the fear grow on her face. She took a step back and I wrapped a protective arm around her. Selene could handle an aweful lot, but this was different. Had our situation not been so bleak, I would have enjoyed this one savoury moment where she actually looked to me for protection. Of course our situation was this bleak, I wasn't enjoying the moment in the slightest.
A guard grabbed me shoulders, yanking me away from Selene. Another grabbed her arm and forced her to sit on her knees a few feet away. I tried to look up and see who was holding me, but I couldn't. I heard Talen enter. That stupid rhythmic walk...
"Now Selene," I was pinned to the ground and somebody sat on my legs, another guard appeared infront of me and pinned down my arms. "We need to know where the others are hiding," she stepped up to me and ribbed off the make-shift bandages that Selene had wrapped around my chest, exposing my back. "And you are going to tell us."
Yet another guard kneeled down beside me and pressed a daggar into the skin underneath my left shoulder blade; just far enough to draw blood. "If you don't tell us, dear, sweet Tarrion will receive a deep gash from his left shoulder blade down to his right hip." I felt her cold finger trace a diagnal line down my back. "Don't lie to us dear, we'll find out." I closed my eyes and gritted my teeth. This was not my day.
Selene I felt myself breaking all self control being ripped away. "Sel don't." Tar said through gritted teeth. I looked at him in shock and he nodded his eyes still clenched shut. "No." I said quietly. "What did you say?" Talen asked in a false disbelieving voice. "NO!! YOU ARE NO BETTER THEN I AM YOU JUST HAVE MONEY OR POWER DO WHATEVER YOU WANT TO ME I WILL NEVER BETRAY THEM UNLIKE YOU WOULD!!" I screamed my voice full of rage and hatred. "Very well then." She said she gestured to the guard and he sliced Tars back open. I let out a scream of hatred and frustration but said nothing.
"You are without a doubt, the worst pirate I've ever heard of."
I shrieked as the knife penetrated the skin on my back. It ended and I began to breath heavily, tears stinging my eyes. I would not let myself cry. Not a chance.
Selene screamed and all I wanted was to comfort her. Of course I would have plenty of issues actually getting to her. "His right shoulder now, please," Talen's disgusting voice broke through the screaches. They pressed the blade under my right shoulder blade, once again just hard enough to draw blood. "Selene dear, we will do this again. Where are they hiding?"
"Don't-tell-them," I managed through gritted teeth. I didn't care what happened to me as long as none of the others got hurt.
"I would never tell you!" She screached. I braced myself as the guard drew the knife through my back, holding back another scream. Come on Sel, stay stron! I wanted to shout it, but I couldn't force it through.
Selene I shook my head vehemently and the guard sliced Tar open again. "Well since he won't speak now maybe he will when its you here." Talen suggested her voice amused. I said nothing as guards grabbed me and lifted up my shirt exposing my bare back. One of the guards flicked the whip lightly against my back and Tar growled. "Tell us deary." Talen said her voice sweet as honey and venomous as a cobras venom. "Tar don't I'll be fine." I said calmly looking at him. He looked at me and nodded. I smiled as the guard laid the first stroke of many with the whip into my back not letting out a single cry or whimper of pain my face blank and my mouth clamped shut. After he was done Talen came up to me. "Are you going to tell me?" She asked. I smirked and shook my head. "Slice her back the same way you did Tars." She said boredly to the guards. They did and I didn't let out a cry of pain or even a small whimper. "Tell us deary." She said smiling at me. I grinned at her my face still blank.
"You are without a doubt, the worst pirate I've ever heard of."
I watched in horror as they sliced Selene's back. How could she not be crying out? It had been the most painful thing that had ever happened to me! She was grinning? No...she was in deep pain. Unreadable unless you knew her like I did, but she was.
"I'm not saying anything!" Selene hissed. Talen sighed with mock pity.
"My dear, you have no clue how much pain you will inflict on yourself and your precious man. Do you underestimate me?" Talen walked up to me and put dug the toe of her pointed shoes into a gash on my back. I refused to cry out. She dug deeper and flicked inwards with her foot. I supressed a shriek.
One of the guards chuckled as Talen brought her bloody toe out of my back. "Now dear, I need you to cooperate." She turned to the guards. "Do your worst to them both. I'd take Tarrion's life first though. That one's a tad stubborn. Call me back in when they're ready to confess." I heard Talen walk through the door. I shuddered.
A thought just occurred to me. Selene was very exposed and in a room full of blood-thirsty men. If they tried anything funny... A knife penetrated the base of my neck and sliced through my back in a zig-zag pattern. What was even the point of holding back anymore? Talen wasn't here, Selene would love me even if I did scream. I let one go.
"You'd better tell us where they are honey," the guard who had cut me grumbled.
"I-I..." she trailed off momentarly before composing herself. "NO!" She shouted.
The guard whipped my back with brutal force. "Come on sweety, I really don't wanna have to hurt you," he mumbled.
Selene "NO! I WILL NEVER BETRAY THEM!!" I screamed in defiance. One of the guards grabbed my arm and twisted it behind me. "Tell us honey." He said in my ear. "NO!!" I screamed. " I will never give in not to you never to you I will never break not for you never for you I will not bow never have never will! I will never give in." I sang in defiance through my pain.
"You are without a doubt, the worst pirate I've ever heard of."
I sat in my room, still feeling numb from earlier. I was nothing to her. Just another of her worthless subjects, not even worthy of a grateful smile, or a thanks.
Standing up suddenly, I made a decision. I was going to make her see, no matter what it took. I was going to make those prisoners talk, goddammit, and I was going to kill Rajun at the next chance I got. Maybe then Talen would have no choice but to announce me as her heir.
I made my way to the cells, hearing screams come from within, and a defiant sing-song voice shouting something about not giving in. As I turned the corner, I saw Talen standing at the edge of the room, looking down at the prisoners coldly. When she saw me approach, she gave me a brief nod. "Sort those two out," she ordered briefly, before disappearing again. I watched after her forlornly. Probably she had something important to attend to. That must be it.
"Stop." I uttered, glancing at the prisoners. The guards let off, though keeping hold of both captives. There was blood pooling on the floor, and obvious gashes where the two had been slashed at, blood smeared across their backs and dripping gruesomely. I stared with a level of mild disgust. Clearly the tactics needed to be changed; torture wasn't going to work. "Seperate them," I ordered, and the girl, Selene, immediately began screaming.
Stupid girl. I narrowed my eyes, before striking Tarrion swiftly around the face. He winced, and Selene fell silent, though her eyes still burned with a fierce hatred. I spoke to her softly. "Everytime you disobey me, Tarrion will be refused the treatment he needs to survive. Do you understand?"
Selene glanced at Tarrion with concern, maybe finally realising the frail situation his life was in. Nevertheless, she remained stubbornly silent. I sighed wearily. "Put him in the adjacent cell," I murmured, and the guards dragged Tarrion off with little resistance. I was surprised he was still conscious, to be honest.
[The cells have a brick wall between, so Sel and Tar will be able to hear but not see each other. Also, Tae decided no more torture, in case that wasn't too clear. ]
Elizabeth: "There will come a moment when you will have a chance to show it. To do the right thing." Jack: "I love those moments. I like to wave at them as they pass by."
I wanted to resist...I didn't want to be away from Selene even for a second. I just couldn't muster up the strength. "Please-don't seperate us," I whispered hoarsely to Tareyn.
She just shook her head at me. Was she actually pittying me? Hard to believe. "I'm sorry, but I have to," she whispered.
I was actually glad she had walked in when she did. They had sliced my stomach and slapped my face numerous times. I wondered if they had actually managed to break Selene's arm. I gritted my teeth at the thought. My back was sliced open in so many spots it was hard to count and I swear my ankle had broken when the took the hammer to it.
Taeryn walking in possibly saved my life, but being seperated from Selene was more than I could bare. I let a tear slip down my cheek. "You-will-pay," I managed, slightly more audibly.
I stared back impassively. What would it feel like to need someone that much, that being away for even a second was too much? Not that it mattered.
I raised an eyebrow at Tarrion's weak threat, before gesturing to the cell. "You will not be interogated further until you have recieved treatment," I said, gesturing to one of the guards to fetch a doctor. Obviously the captives must be confused; such blood loss would be making them feel lightheaded and faint. I locked both cell doors, then sat down opposite where I could see both prisoners.
Elizabeth: "There will come a moment when you will have a chance to show it. To do the right thing." Jack: "I love those moments. I like to wave at them as they pass by."
Selene I closed my eyes and rested my head against the wall. "Freedom is a right not a privelge. Will is something that should not be broken." I said. "Do you truly believe that?" Taeryn asked. "Yeah I do." I said not opening my eyes.
"You are without a doubt, the worst pirate I've ever heard of."
