I tried not to run towards Tarrion. If I felt this bad, I wondered how Sel felt. Probably like she was being ripped apart.

Selene "BE CAREFUL!!" I screamed at the guard that was holding Tarrion. The guard that was next to him turned around and slapped me. I laughed a natural sound of contempt and scorn. "Was that supposed to hurt?" I asked rolling my eyes. His face turned red and he just turned forward and continued to walk. I smirked and continued to walk holding onto that smirk.
"You are without a doubt, the worst pirate I've ever heard of."
Selene was being strong. I gave her that much. But how could she survive watching that happen to Tarrion?!
I realized that I had been squeezing Kale's hand harder and harder as I got more nervous. I quickly let go. "Sorry," I whispered.
"It's alright," he said with a small smile. "I don't mind."
I would've laughed if it had been any other day. As it was, I just grinned and turned back towards the clearing.

I gritted my teeth. The guard had just slapped her! She claimed it didn't hurt, but like I cared about that! "If you dare lay a finger on her again I swear your life will end immediately," I growled.
The guard snickered at me. So he thought I was kidding did he? I jerked forwards quickly and flung myself backwards at the guard as hard as I could. He hit his back on a tree and slumped to the ground with a grunt. He wasn't unconscious, but he was dazed all right.
The guard reached for Selene's arm again and I snarled at him, putting me between the two. He backed off. If they dared touch her I'd kill all of them without a second thought.
Taeryn wasn't impressed with my bravery. Infact, she probably despised it. "Somebody get Tarrion away from that girl," she hissed.
I held Selene around the waist tightly and stiffened up. No way.
Selene "Tar please let go." I whispered in his ear. He looked at me shock evident in his face. "Please they'll just hurt you more." I begged. He still looked at me with shock in his face I kissed him on the cheek. "Please." I said.

She wanted me to let go? I couldn't--it's not like I cared what they did to me. Apparently she did though. I glared at the guard again, but I released Selene. The world didn't split into two parts and swallow us up, so I figured it would be okay.
"How sweet," Taeryn muttered, smirking. I was starting to despise this chick. I glared at her and she winked at me, nodding to a guard.
Selene I hated this I hated them I hated the whole damn world for doing this to my friends and Tar. I didn't care what happened to me as long as they lived I never did. They shoved us along and soon we reached the castle. One of the guards grabbed my hair and forced me to look up. I saw Fangs head on the castle wall and my eyes filled with angry tears. "What do you think about that sweetheart?" He growled in my ear. I looked at him my face calm and he looked taken aback. "At least he is free at least he is away from this torture and pain." I said as we walked into the castle. We walked until we reached the throneroom and Talen was sitting there. We were forced onto our knees and we bowed our heads. "Hello your majesty." I said my voice full of false respect. Tar seemed to grasp what I was doing and gave the self same greeting.

I stood in silence behind the prisoners, waiting for the moment of congratulation. That moment when my mother would finally see me for the true, loyal servant I was, and how worthy I was of the heirdom to the kingdom.
The moment did not come. Talen met my eyes after a long pause, looking almost weary. "Escort them to the prisons," she commanded shortly, before rising and leaving the throneroom. I stared after her with a mixture of hurt and anger, not fully comprehending what had just happened. Had I not risen in her eyes at all? Over a month of searching, and no thanks. No appreciation.
Of course, there must be a reason, right? My mother was queen; she couldn't be wrong. That would be... unthinkable. I attempted to shake the doubt from my mind before gesturing to the prisoners, leading them in silence to the cells.
[The seed of doubt has been planted...? Talen seems to have an unhealthy habit of distancng herself from her kids ]
Elizabeth: "There will come a moment when you will have a chance to show it. To do the right thing." Jack: "I love those moments. I like to wave at them as they pass by."
We walked. Tigger and Rajun were discussing plans to free Tarrion and Selene. Kale and I were silent, just thinking.
Poor Tarrion. Poor Selene.
Had us letting them be caught for our plan become the reason they might die?

"Should we put them together?" One of the guards asked hurriedly.
The other shrugged. "Don't see what harm it would do. Let them have their last sweet moments together."
They shoved us into the samee cell we had been in the last time and slammed the door. I balled my hands into fists at my sides. Back in this frickin' hell hole. It stunk like rotten fruit in here.
I turned to Selene, who had a distant look in her eyes. I walked over to her and kissed her on the lips. At least we were alone. And the guards didn't count.
Selene I smiled at Tarrion and looked ahead deep in thought. "Tar I'm scared." I admitted reluctantly. He looked at me with surprise and shock on his face and I nodded. "I'm terrified Tar I'm scared out of my mind." I said tears running silently down my face. I had cried out of anger pain and sadness never fear so this was new to me. Tar held me carefully avoiding my dagger and arrow wounds and I buried my face in his chest still crying sobs silently making their way through me.

Kale
We reached the castle. Guards were on both sides of the doors, looking fierce. "Remind me again how we're supposed to get in here?" Tigger asked.
"Back entrance," Rajun said. "The one that the servants use."
"Oh, ok, because that makes perfect sense. We look just like servants," Aris said sarcastically, gesturing towards their dirty clothes.
"Actually, you do," Rajun said. "Regretfully, the situation has gone on an all-time low to this."
"Alright," I said, resigned. "Let's go."

I almost died then and there. Okay, no--I didn't almost die. I just wanted desperately to rip the face off of one of the guards. Better yet, Talen or Taeryn. "I'm scared, too," I murmered in her ear, holding her tightly.
I took her to a corner so that I could lean on the wall and sat down, pulling her with me. I held her sideways and let her cling to me. Guards walked back and fourth down the halls and I glared at them as they passed. One of them stopped momentarly and stared at us for a moment.
"You really love her, don't you lad?" He asked, chewing on his lower lip. I nodded, not removing my glare. He sighed. "You hold onto her then. A warning, Talen will do anything to tear you apart. Not death-wise, but she'll tear apart your hearts. Make you despise eachother. Don't give in." With that he turned and walked away.
I furrowed my brow at the odd remark and held Selene tighter. She was still sobbing quietly and all I could do was hold back tears. Never would I let her go.
