Lament of Innocence

Aris

I heard Selene call out about an apology, and I looked pointedly at Kale.

"Apology?! No way!" he said. I gave him a particularly fierce glare. "Whatever, whatever, fine," he said hurriedly.

We walked out into the clearing. "Are you as pissed as I am, Selene?" I asked conversationally.

"More than you know," she replied brightly. "Now, apologies," she added.

TARRRION

She really wanted me to apologize to the little creep? The girls were both talking about how pissed they were at us. Tigger magically appeared to join into their conversation.

Kale and I just stared eachother down, neither of us wanting to admit that we were wrong first. Who would? I had risked my neck for the man and he completely betrayed me. I crossed my arms.

"Look, I'm sorry I screwed things up for you two," he muttered. Not a hint of actual guilt in his voice. He was just saying it to make Aris happy.

So I would only say it to make Selene happy. She told me to apologize, not to mean it. "And I'm sorry I tried to wring your sorry neck," I growled.

Tigger chuckled. Go figure.

Kale Has his own account now! Wee hee!

"Look, I'm sorry I screwed things up for you two," I muttered. Like I meant it- I still think that Selene had the right to know- but Aris really, really would despise it if I didn't say sorry. She and Tar were really good friends. I couldn't see why.

"And I'm sorry I tried to wring your sorry neck," he said, his voice a low growl. Oh, yeah, like he meant that. He just wanted to appease Sel. Ah well, I didn't really care.

Tigger laughed. No surprises there- he always does at times like these. Aris frowned. "Well, that was a nice, kind, happy apology," she said sarcastically.

"Yeah, they're going to be friends real soon," Sel added, rolling her eyes.

TARRION

"Yeah, they're going to be friends real soon," Selene grumbled. Friends? With Kale? Probably never in my life. Besides, he had after all, attempted to rip me and Sel apart. Plus the fact that I tried to strangle him didn't help things.

I held up my hand and stared at the stumps where my middle finger and thumb had once been. Sucks they were missing now. I hadn't really thought much about them until now, but I began to try figuring out how I had lost them in the first place.

From what I recalled I lost them before my father was killed. A fight with a guard? No, I had been a good boy until I killed the man who had killed my father. I sighed. What did it matter?

I turned to face Selene, who was staring at me, an unammused look playing her features. Grinning, I walked over to her and sat down. She stared at my hand, but made no comment. I glanced at Tigger quickly, who had that stupid grin on his face-again.

I leaned over and kissed Selene on the lips, harder than I had last time. Partially out of passion, partially just to bug the crud outta Tigger.

Selene
I smirked into the kiss hearing Tiggers groan of disgust and annoyance. I pulled away and hugged him smiling at Tigger broadly. I pulled away and held his hand leaning my head on his shoulder ignoring everyone but me and him.

TARRION

I smirked at Tigger, who was staring at us like we were mutants evolved from something horrible. I wrapped my arms around her waist and kissed the top of her head. Tigger rolled his eyes.

"Oh come on Tig, we all know you're secretly just jealous," I taunted. He didn't look very ammused with me. Ah well, I let him have his fun, it was my turn now.

He shook his head at me and wandered off into the forest. "What now?" I whispered to Selene, eyeing Kale. He looked like he wanted to rip my guts out or something. I winked at him; just to aggrovate him.

Selene
I sighed and punched Tarrion in the arm in a place that wasn't whipped as hard as I could. "OUCH!!" He said rubbing his arm ruefully. "Be nice. Please for me?" I asked imploringly my eyes wide.

TARRION

I raised an eyebrow at Selene and grinned. "Fine, for the love of all that is holy," I paused and she rolled her eyes, "I will be nice. So long as you don't punch me again."

"Deal," she murmered. I shot another glance in Kale's direction. He was smirking at me. He'd be lucky to live through the rest of the week.

Selene
I stood up and walked over to Kale and punched him a hell of a lot harder then I had punched Tarrion in the arm. "What the hell was that for?" He said rubbing his arm. "You be nice to Tarrion or Goddess so help me I will have your head on a silver platter. You got that?" I asked threatingly smiling sweetly. He paled and seemed to have trouble breathing. "G-g-got it." He said nodding. "Good." I said walking back to Tarrion.

TARRION

I smirked at Kale, but erased it and put on a sweet smile when Selene turned around. Another punch in the arm wouldn't be very good for me. I took her hand and led her out to the bushes.

"Where are we going?" she murmered.

I turned around to face her and brushed a strand of hair out of her eyes. "Think you're up to taking a little walk with me?"

"Where to?" She grinned at me.

I shrugged and she nodded, smiling. We scurried into the bushes, not knowing where exactly we were going. We just walked...I needed to get away from the others. Selene and I deserved to be alone for a bit. If Tigger followed I'd have to hurt him.

Selene
I smiled and started to sing "Hey guess what I got my happy ending I got my prince and I don't need you not anymore never have never will I got my fairy tale and I did it without you." I looked at Tarrion and he had a look of amazement on his face. "What?" I asked him tilting my head to the side.

TARRION

I shook my head at her. "You amaze me, Selene," I murmered.

She grinned at me, chuckling softly to herself. I don't think I had ever felt more loved in my life. Another plus; Selene had an amazing voice. I struggled to remain half sane and kept walking, not letting go of Selene's hand.

We came across a small pond and I sat down by the edge of it and pulled Selene onto my lap careful to avoid the daggar wound and the arrow.

Selene
I felt content and at peace with the world I personally didn't care if Talen herself showed up I was happy and loved and in love I was so happy. And besides if Talen showed up I would claw out her eyes myself.

TARRION

Finally content with being along, I let myself relax. I put my arms behind my head and laid down on the ground. Selene was still in my lap and she shifted slightly. I grinned up at the sky, noticing how dark it was getting.

I remembered an old song I had heard once and replayed a bit of it in my head. And of all of the stars hanging up in the sky, none will shine brighter than you. That was the only part I could remember off by heart.

I closed my eyes and breathed in deeply, never had I felt so at peace.

Aris

"That was totally rude," I said sharply, looking at Kale. "You both seriously need to get over this. It's getting slightly annoying."

"Sorry," he said, raising his hands up. "I'll try to be nice, but honestly, it's him that-"

"Are you a little kid or something?" I asked teasingly. "He did it, he did it- ok, you both did it." I laughed.
