I just noticed that their isn't a traveler from our world yet, with only two days left, maybe you should say only some one people who are willing to make that character can join. Until that is the character has been made.

I edited my profile, I hope I didn't miss anything out.

Grif: Totally get what you are saying, but it would have been nice if you had explained some of this stuff in the early post about this world, or what you had envisioned it being. I kind of just went for it with some things, like the whole half-breed and everything because I was unsure of what was allowed and not allowed. Not trying to argue or be rude, just some more background on this land would have been nice. Oh I never said he was really strong, just that he had a good amount of muscle on him.

I am guessing that your comments on his personality/skills is just what you think of it and nothing I have to change.

I will start over with flaws, no problem there. But I think the drinking and woman will be a struggle for him. I like your whole advice about the old soldier thing, I think I will go with that. It makes more sense now since he won't be using any Rune Magic.

So the only problems you have are not wanting to live in a non-racial society, his flaws, and maybe work on the history a bit. I will fix them all, if I missed anything let me know, thanks :D

To help make profiles better, I'm making it a rule that two other authors have to approve your profile in addition to myself. Three heads are better than one and three people have more time than just me.

Okay, do you approve my profile? I have the two other people.

Name: Noah

Species: Human

Age: Early twenties

Gender: Male

Occupation: Thief; Assassin

Starting Location: (Haven) Hanging around the port

Appearance: A man of many hats, Noah, sans any disguise, appears as a pale young man of five feet, eight inches, with wispy dark hair sitting atop his head and crawling down his neck, and soft gray eyes that smile almost as gently as his pout, pink lips. His fingers, long and nimble, are often covered by thin, black leather. His most usual attire is an outfit of dyed black, close-fitting trousers, and a dark, hooded cloak. After years of dancing, his body is slim and lithe, able to slip through some of the thinnest cracks, and step lightly and unheard through the darkness. When working, Noah has an assortment of his wigs and fake mustaches stashed neatly away in his sack, making sure that if seen committing a crime, not a soul will be able say that it was he who did it.

Skills: An expert makeup artist and a master of disguise, accomplished through almost two decades of working on the stage and behind the scenes at the theater where he was born. Able to persuade some of the most recalcitrant folk into becoming his good, if not best friend, as well as being quite competent in the art of charming stubborn, but beautiful young women.

As time has gone on, Noah has honed his skill as a thief, unlocking doors and chests like it was child's play. He's slowly mastering the art of hiding in the shadows, finding that it's a skill with a multitude of uses, such as approaching your prey from behind, stabbing them in the neck, and hearing them sink to the ground as you yourself sink back into the darkness, emerging into the cold, night air and walking away so casually, not one pair of eyes suspects you've killed a man not several moments prior.

Flaws: Horrible at engaging in combat of any kind. Noah heavily relies on his skill as a quick, nimble, and likable young man to avoid any and every potential fight. Unfortunately, not every punch can be dodged, and if struck, he'll usually tumble to the ground like a sack of potatoes.

Equipment: Noah keeps a dagger kept tucked away behind his thick boot, obsessively sharpening and cleaning it after every attack. Several tiny vials of poison are also stashed in a compartment carved out in the back of his shoe. In his sack that he keeps very secured to his back, he keeps a pack of makeup, two or three changes of clothing, and two or three wigs, women's and mens, matching mustaches and beards, eyebrows, fake birthmarks and bottles of perfume.

In disguise, he wants to seem as distinguishable as possible, so when somebody identifies him, guards will heavily rely on the specific details of appearance (and smell, and often times persona) that don't belong to him. Whenever a disguise is used, he never wears it again, and the wig and clothing are immediately and always disposed of.

History: Born twenty-one years ago, across the water from Haven, to a well-known playwright and his wife, the actress. Practically living on the stage, Noah learned how to adopt personalities and interests, loves and enemies, on a whim. Backstage he watched those he worked with prepare, looking on as dainty young women were transformed into hideous old men, and young men transformed into beautiful ladies. As well as plays, the theater often held dance recitals, and Noah's parents pushed him at a young, delicate age to take part. He became agile and limber, as well as learning to be graceful, elegant, and pretty.

Noah thought that he would never tire of the theater, but soon enough, he found that he would rather live an adventure than act like he did. His uncle, a man not to be spoken of or asked about around his parents, showed up often at recitals and plays. Although he was told never to interact with the man, and the man told never to interact with Noah, his uncle eventually got tired of being told to stay away from his nephew, and took him for a long, long walk. And soon, these long walks became routine. Noah, frightened but curious, asked why, why did his parents dislike him so? And why did he dress all in black? And why did he smell so odd? At first, his uncle outright lied, but Noah's keen eye could tell the difference between honesty and travesty.

One of their walks led them back to his house, a quaint cottage on the shore. As they stepped through the door, the uncle reached into his shoe and revealed a rusty knife, tainted with blood. Noah wordlessly stared at it as his uncle quietly told him of the necks it's sliced and the hearts it's stopped. After not even receiving a disheartening stare, he hovered over to a chest in the corner of a room, unlocking it with a key he retrieved from a broken floorboard, and took out several pieces of sparkling jewlery. Three words rang out of his mouth, breaking through his lips and spilling into Noah's ears: "It's a living." After minutes of silence and what seemed like hours of thought, he looked up and whispered that he wanted to know how. And from then on, Noah slipped out of his window and raced to his uncle's house almost every night, receiving the advice and training only a professional murderer could give. It gave him solace, his uncle said, knowing that he was passing on his livelihood, all the secrets he's gathered over the years, to his flesh and blood, to a young man that wouldn't let him down.

Relationships:

Asele; disguised as a young woman, he stowed away in a large crate on one of her ships out of curiosity, hoping to crawl out at night time and loot whatever he could find. She came across him while he was out and about, but when she chased him she only got a handful of his cloak, which slipped through her fingers as he escaped.

Eli; murdered his wealthy grandfather on a contract for a man with a grudge. He was just as unlikable as his grandson.

Cressida; caught in the act while attempting to rob a farmer of some vegetables, as he was a bit peckish, and the farmer sprinted after him, attacking him with a large, sharp pitchfork. Bloodied, but alive, and what disguise he had on completely ripped apart, he managed to escape into the forest and collapse against a tree. He woke up to find a young, female healer hovering over him, gently asking him to drink a clear liquid from a vial. He didn't know how to thank her.

Gwendolen; the two criminals crossed paths one day, and had a heated affair. It ended abruptly when Noah awoke on a raft, floating in the middle of the bay, with a note glued to his shoe with honey that read: "it was fun."

Lorraine; daughter of an Innkeeper, whose establishment he frequents. Likes to flirtaciously taunt her when she attempts to stop him from entering, but when he legitamately wants something to drink, she knows him as a kind elder gentleman - one of the only disguises he hasn't disposed of.

I think your profile is great LittleSock, but maybe you should put other playing characters in there? Even if they wouldn't recognise him, it might be better if he has already switched paths with some other's people's character so that there isn't so much introducing. He could be best buddies with any of the other characters without them knowing he kills people.

Does he have a general persona within Haven? As it's quite a small town I would imagine most people know each other so it might be good [if he lives in Haven] if you described how his public personality is.
Other than this I approve your profile. :D

[Maybe change the starting point? No-one else is starting in a tavern so it could be difficult to integrate at the beginning. :D ]

Starting tomorrow woop woop! :elephant:

I know it's a little late, but would it be possible for people to add a section to their profiles to indicate who they know and how they know them? See my profile for an example.

I think this will make character integration easier. If your character doesn't know anyone then you might want to change them around now. Today is the day to check over your profile and everyone else's profile, approve or disapprove them, get people to approve your profile, and then think about what your first scene will be. I'll try to be in chat as much as possible to help with last minute profile approvals.

Don't worry, your profile can still be approved after the storybook starts and people can add at any time, so long as their profile is approved.

As the for the opening tomorrow, I've got something special planned. Stay tuned.

Also, will someone else approve my profile, at the moment only ScarlettFire has done so.

Looking forward to the surprise...!

Add in some people he knows and how he met them and you should be fine. Otherwise, I approve.

Poetry is my cheap means of transportation. By the end of the poem the reader should be in a different place from where he started. I would like him to be slightly disoriented at the end, like I drove him outside of town at night and dropped him off in a cornfield.
