Federico~Greed

Federico opened the door to the warehouse and felt the warm air wash over him. Even though he was wearing a suit the heat didn't affect him much. He pulled out his stop watch to look at the time and quickly put it away. I've got some time to kill.

"Hey boss!" Yelled a young man running up behind Federico.

Federico turned to see his right hand man Anthony. Anthony was a 19 year old kid fresh out of high school. He was the same height as Federico, but he had a leaner body topped with red hair. "What is it?"

"Sir, the numbers just came in and there as been no change is profits for this month."

Federico thought a moment, "It's good profits haven't dropped, but we haven't gained any new territory either..."

"Boss?"

"I'm going out for a while, you're in charge Anthony."

"Right boss, leave it to me," and with that Anthony left closing the warehouse door behind him.

Federico smiled to himself as he started walking at a brisk pace. He was remembering how he had found Anthony.

Anthony was tired of his boring high school life and despised his parents. Falling into a slump he had decided to take his own life. Federico happened by him by pure chance while he was holding a gun to his head.

"What are you looking at! Don't take pity on me!" Yelled Anthony with a gun in his hand.

"Why would I pity you? What does it matter if someone as useless as you committed suicide?" Stated Federico as he walked past.

Turning his gun on Federico Anthony yelled, "I'm not useless! I'm sick and tired of people calling me that! Teachers, my parents, they have no right!"

"If you're no useless, then work for me."

"What?" Asked Anthony lowering his gun.

Federico lit a cigarette before he spoke, "Work for me, do whatever I say without question, and prove to the people you despise most that you can do something with your life."

Federico laughed at the memory. Ever since that day he's been a loyal dog doing whatever I tell him no matter who it hurts. If only I could find more useful tools like him. As he came to his senses he spotted what looked like a young girl talking to a guy outside an ice cream parlor. Something about her interested him and he couldn't remover his gaze. She started to fidget as if she felt someone was watching her and soon said fair well and ran past Federico, One.

He soon passed by the boy and over heard him speaking "What a strange girl. Oh no I'll be late!"

With that he passed Federico, Two.[i] Looking in the parlor window he saw a gorgeous young lady and smiled, [i]Three.

Soon he made his way to the park. Walking down the path a man passed him waving goodbye to a couple that had been fighting. Four[i] As he continued he ran across a man and woman sitting on a bench. One had an evil look in his eye and the other had been crying. [i]Five, Six. He stopped on the open grass and pulled a pack of cigarettes from his jacket pocket. He spotted another pair, a man and woman standing a hundred yards a head of him. He appeared to be asking her on a date. Coffee perhaps? Seven, eight.

Just as he lit his cigarette a voiced yelled out behind him, "Look out!"

Turning just in time to see a Frisbee flying at his face Federico quickly raised his hand and caught it.

A girl ran up to him, "Sorry about that. My name's Victoria, but my friends call my Tori."

"Not a problem," said Federico handing her the Frisbee, "Name's Federico." Nine, and that troublesome woman Kei should be around here somewhere too. That's ten.

"I'm terribly sorry about that. Would you like something to drink, I brought some lemonade?" Asked Tori.

"That sounds refreshing, thank you," said Federico following the girl. Now, what brings the most profit to me?

Not one worthy person sat in Starbucks. Where had all the beautiful people gone?

So I exited the shop. I was walking through the park when I saw him... Federico. And he was with a girl. The girl was beautiful - of course, not as beautiful as I - but beautiful. Could she be my next victim? Could she be strong enough to possess Pride?

I walked over to them. I was somewhat acquainted with Federico. The most important thing was that all the Sins knew each other's names, what they looked like, and what they were. So going up to Federico wouldn't be awkward. He would know who I was.

"Frederico! Nice to see you. And who is this girl?"

Because after all, the girl was who I wanted; who I needed.

Victoria

I strolled towards the wooden bench that was placed a few yards away. Frederico followed, scratching his clean cut brown hair. As I sat on the bench next to me, so did he. Reaching into my backpack, I pulled out one of my bottles of lemonade. Smiling, I passed it to Frederico.

"So," I began. "What brings you here then?"

"Nothing really," He shrugged. "Just people watching, I suppose."

"I find that kind of weird, people watching. No offence though. My mum always used to people watch. She's be like, look at him Tori! He looks weird, I bet he's single! It was kind of rude really. No offence to you or anything,"

Frederico looked at me and began laughing. I really needed to know when to stop talking. I could feel my cheeks turning redder as each second passed. Shaking his head, still laughing, Frederico reached into his pocket and brought out a packet of cigarettes.

"Want one?" He smiled, offering me one.

"Uh..." I hesitated. "All right,"

He passed me the cigarette before getting a polished, silver lighter out and lighting his own. He then passed me his lighter. I awkwardly put the cigarette in my mouth, as I tried to flick the lighter on. Eventually, I got it to work.

Seconds later, I was coughing madly. Once again, Frederico laughed at my reaction.

"Never tried one before eh?" He smiled.

"Frederico! Nice to see you," A loud voice sudden;y spoke behind me. "And who is this girl?"

I spun around to see a tall, beautiful girl standing behind the bench. She was so beautiful I was almost attracted to her. When I looked at the girl, she looked at me. There was a strange, unnerving look in her cold blue eyes as she stared.
I didn't know what to put here so I put this.

I stalked over to the tanning salon and burst through the doors, my adrenline pumping and my heart beating hardly again my chest. Wait...what was I doing? I reeled back and put a hand to my head. I wasn't really going to do what that girl said, was I? I turned around and bolted for the door.
" This could not be happening!" I shook my head and headed back for the icecream shop, a place where I could think.

Federico looked at Kei and allowed himself a fake smile, "Buongiorno Kei. This is an acquittance of mine."

"Name's Victoria, but you can call me Tori."

"Kei."

Federico reached into his pocket and pulled out a business card. "Hey Tori, I know this is kind of sudden, but I own a messaging business between rival companies. They don't always get along so I'm a middle man of sorts and I'm looking for a new secretary. It's not glamorous work, but being summer and all I know you're out of school so would you like a job?" That wasn't a complete lie. One of his jobs was a medium between other mobs as a neutral middle man.

"It's true I'm out of school, but what about you?" Asked Tori.

"Dear, Federico is twenty-one and owns his own business, he's not in school," said Kei with a satisfied tone that she could one up Tori.

"Really, I'm sorry, I didn't know you were three years my senior," Said Tori as she looked away blushing.

Kei started to laugh, but Federico interrupted her, "I wouldn't be laughing if I were you, if I'm three years her senior then that would make her eighteen, one year your senior."

"It's not nice to take about a woman's age," said Kei with an irritated tone.

Letting out a small laugh Federico looked back to Tori, "So what do you say, want to work for me. I'll pay well," he held out the card.

Tori took it and looked a dazed for a second, then responded cheerfully, "Why not, it's always good to have pocket money!"

Federico nodded and smiled, "Exactly!" He looked at Kei and winked, Let the battle begin.

"Oh, what a wonderful idea! Work for the seductive 21-year-old pervert! Brilliant. But, while we're speaking about money, I have some extra on me, and I need to go shopping for clothes... the only problem is that, well, I don't have very many friends." I looked down at my feet and brought fake tears to my eyes. "They all died... in a tragic car accident..."

"Oh, I'm so sorry," Tori said gesturing for a hug. I hugged her and smiled at Frederico behind her back.

"It's alright. But, do you want to go shopping?" I suddenly chirped up my voice. I knew I had her hooked.

"Uh, sure."

"Great!" I linked her arm in mine and waved to Fred. "See ya!"

Hmph, try to mess with me, Frederico. You'll always lose.

"Sure!" I replied. I smiled at Dougie and we slowly began walking to Starbucks. I had never had coffee, well not since I had become a sin, but still, I could, right? We entered the shop smelling of coffee beans and I watched Dougie sigh.

"One Creme Brulea Latte," I said.

"I'll take a caramel latte," Dougie said. The sixteen year old boy in front of me nodded and soon enough our coffee was before us. Hmm, time to make someone jealous, I thought. I winked at the boy, smiling, and I knew Dougie had seen.

We sat down at a table near a window. The sun shone and I sipped my coffee slowly, the taste strangely satisfying me. "Mmm!" I said, "this is amazing! You!" I called to the boy behind the counter. He quickly rushed over to me nervously.

"Yes ma'am?" he asked, a concerned look in his eyes.

"You made this?" He nodded. "Well, it is absolutly delcious," I winked again as I said the words.

Jake

"Huh, wonder where she had to go," I said. I quickly walked down the street, Ava's face replaying in my mind.

Suddenly I passed by the tanning shop. There, was Pan. It looked like her friends, had gone too far. Her hair was multiple colors, like a rainbow. She looked really pissed actually...I quickly knocked on the window. She turned and I waved, smiling.

I pushed open the door to the Pizza shop and walked towards the front counter. Great, I had to act more like a human if I weren't to be suspicious. That meant, eating human food.

"What can I do for ya!" A man with a lazy eye asked in a loud voice. I blinked slightly, what should I get?
"What's the most human food you have on your menu?" I asked grinning happily. The man stopped in front of the counter raising his eye brows.

"The most human thing?" He said again wiping his greasy hands on his white apron.
I nodded, "Yes please."
"Are you being serious?" He asked a small smile playing across his unshaven face.
"Yes sir, can I please have your most human food on the menu."

The man began to laugh, "One pizza with pineapple coming up," I nodded.
"Thank you," I looked around at the few people sitting down talking quietly. I looked outside towards the sky, if anyone was hunting me than I was in trouble.

Jake's image flashed in my mind, let's hope no one goes after him.
"That's 9.95 dollars" the man said.
"9.95," That's money terms. I told myself digging into my pockets. Pulling out a necklace I dropped it onto the counter.

"What is this worth?" I asked.
"You were dropped on your head when you were younger weren't you kid?"
I spy!

Kiff-
I waved goodbye to the now made up couple and walked away. Well, now, let's see, what to do now? I was strolling down the path when something raised the hairs on the back of my neck. I turned around to see a girl, human, and two others, another girl and a guy. Sins, obviosly. The girl left with the Sin and the male Sin stayed there. I stalked over to him and taped him on the shoulder. When he turned around he blew a ring of smoke in my face.
" Why were you messing with that girl," I asked sternly. He looked me over from head to toe and grimaced.
Pan-
I looked out the window at Jake and quickly ran outside, taking him by the wrist and dragging him over to the coffé shop.
" Why the rush," he said as I pratically forced him down into a booth. I ran a finger through my hair and almost broke down into a fresh wave of tears. I breathed in deeply.
" Nothing, I just couldn't stand being in that tanning salon anymore." He nodded and drew intricate patterns on the countertop with his finger tip.
" So," he cleared his throat," what's up with your hair?" And that's when I caved, my shoulders slummped forward as a fresh wave of tears overcame me.
" Oh, no, no! D-don't do that!" I wiped quickly at my eyes with the collar of my shirt and sat up.
" Sorry," I mumbled," I just...look...ridiculos! I like my "drab" black hair just fine, but, oh well. They like it..."
" It's not their hair," he said, sounding a bit angry. I ran my fingers through my hair.
" You wouldn't understand," I sighed.

"Try me Pan," I said, taking her hands in mine across the table.

"Well...they're just so..."

"Bitchy?" I laughed.

She rolled her eyes and somewhat shook her head. "Well, not exactly. They're just so...forceful. Its like I can't make my own decisions."

"Well that sucks."

"Tell me about it."

"Well, why don't you not hang out with them anymore?"

"Because...well, I won't really have anyone to hang out with."

"There's always me."

"Yeah but...wait what?" she looked at me, stunned.

"Why don't you hang out with me? I met this other girl, Ava, and maybe we could get some other people and see a movie or something. What do you say? It would be fun."

She nodded. "That would be fun. But...do you want to help me dye my hair back to black?"

I shrugged. "I personally like it. Its pretty."

"You think?"

I nodded. "But if you want black, you'll still look pretty."

"Well, no offense. But I really like black hair," she laughed, and I quickly joined in.

"Well we can dye it back before we go to the movies...now lets go find some people!"

Dougie

Lilth was smiling enthusiastically, but not at me. She was smiling at that stupid waitor or whatever he was. It wasn't that I fancied Lilth or anything, I just didn't like her flirting with other guys. Not right in my face anyway.

"So," I tried to grab her attention. "Done anything interesting lately?"

Lilth shrugged. "Not really," She looked over at the boy. "Excuse me!"

Grinning, she waved at the boy, signaling him to walk over here. Again. I swallowed hard and began gritting my teeth. Okay, so maybe I did like her.

Flickering her eyelashes, Lilth spoke to the boy sweetly. She was asking him about his job. Seriously? How interesting can pouring coffee be?! Not very interesting at all, judging on what the boy was saying.

"Hey, do you wanna go?" I interrupted their conversation. "I'm kinda bored."

Annoyed, more like.

"Yeah," Lilth smiled. "Okay."

"Oh, okay," The waitor said, clearly disappointed that he wasn't going to be flirted with any longer. "We do like to advise our customers to give tips..."

"Pfft, you got your tip mate," I glanced at Lilth.

I noticed her lips curve upwards slightly in the corner of my eye.

Victoria

I felt so sorry for that Kei girl! I understood what it was like to have a parent die. I couldn't say no to her after she told me about her parents.

"Where do you want to go first then Tori?" Kei smiled.

"Um, I don't mind," I shrugged.

"What about Abercrombie and Fitch?"

"Yeah, all right." I replied. "But I have to tell you, I probably won't buy anything because I haven't got much money on me. My mum's trying to save money apparently, which I think is unfair. I mean, what the hell?! She spends all of the money on herself, that's the problem. Do you get tr..." I paused. "Sorry! If I start going on about a load of crap, just tell me!"

Kei laughed. "I will!"
I didn't know what to put here so I put this.

My eyes gleamed as Dougie interrupted mine and Johnny's conversation. My lips curved into a smile, and remained as we walked out of Starbucks. "So," Dougie asked. "Are you going to do anything...later?"

I shook my head, shrugging. "I don't think so. What? Do you want to do something?"

Dougie scratched his head. "Umm, yeah. Do you want to go see a movie?"

I nodded enthusiastically. "Sure! That would be fun!"

"Okay! Pick you up around seven?"

I tried hard not to roll my eyes. I'd have to meet him there, if he saw inside my temporary home...well, he'd probably realize I was a sin in no time. "No, I'll meet you there."

"Oh okay..." we walked in silence. I looked down the street before the one where all the sins lived.

"Well, this is my street," I lied. "Bye," I said and turned down the lane. I peeked around the corner after a few minuets, Dougie was gone. I quickly walked up the road a little more and turned in the RIGHT street. I walked to my house near the end, ivy climbing up the red bricks. "Seven," I whispered.

"I will!" I said, and pulled a pink cardigan off the rack. I held it up to her slender body. "This would look soo good on you!"

"Oh... really? I don't know."

"Tori... don't you have any pride in yourself? Don't you think you're beautiful?"

She thought for a minute. "I guess I'm pretty?" She shrugged.

"You're more than pretty! I know what I'll do as your new best friend. We're going to up your pride! I'll make you believe you're the most beautiful girl in the world!"

"How are you going to do that?"

"You couldn't tell when we met? I have magical powers."

She looked at me, then laughed. I laughed along with her. Like I was about to tell her my secret!

Federico took on last drag on his cigarette, threw it to the ground, and stomped it out with his foot. "Angel right? Look, I'm not like other sins. I'm not into that whole, spread sin over the world, thing."

"That means you've already found someone to pass your power onto." replied the Angel.

Federico immediately thought of Anthony, "Maybe, but I have no intention of giving up my power or sharing it. Just because I found a tool doesn't mean I'll convert him." He looked at the Angel with a serious look.

"Let me guess, Greed."

"As greedy as they come," Federico began to laugh. Suddenly a voice called out to him.

"Boss!" Yelled Anthony running up to him.

"What is it Anthony?"

"We got a request from a Boss asking if we could deliver a message for them, and it's from your father."

Federico stopped a moment, "Alright, I'll return shortly. I have some business to finish here."

"Okay Boss, I'll let them know you accept." And with that Anthony left.

The Angel starred after him, "So that's him?"

"Anthony...yeah, if you want to think of it that way."

"And how else would I think?"

Federico lit another cigarette and started to walk away, but stopped. "Eight months ago that young man attempted suicide."

"What?"

"I happened across him while he held a gun to his head. Now am I hurting him, or am I giving him a reason to live. Think about it, I left my card on the table. Come by the warehouse sometime, I have things I wish to discuss."

"Like what?"

"Lets just say, I'm tired of the way things are going. Just because I'm a Sin, that doesn't mean I'm evil." Federico turned and started walking off watching the Angel in the corner of his eyes. Take it.[i] And as if on cue the Angel picked up the business card. [i]And the pieces begin to fall into place.
