Paige

"Hi, I am Paige." I say.

"Alison." The girl says, shaking my hand.

"I am kind of excited to be here."

"Aren't we all?" She laughs. I force out a little laugh to.

"Lets just hope they have good food here." I say.

"Ugh, I know. Watch them serve us, like, roasted bug or something." Alison says. We both laugh. This time, I don't force it. We walk back to the rest of the group.

"Anyone know--" I was going to ask if anyone knew what food we would be eating, but another song line popped into my head and took over for a second.

Does anyone know, what I feel, now? Does any one care--

I snap back to reality. "I mean, does anyone kow what food we are gonna get?" I try again. Most of the kids shake there heads. I take out a piece of paper and write the song line down for later use.

Oops, haha. Andie is a girl. Oh well. Probably my own fault, since I didn't do this:

Andromeda (Andie) Hendrix

I rushed over to the girls' cabin to check it out, and literally ran into someone. Looking up, I gasped.

"Ms. Erickson!" I cried when I saw Cassie. "Ooh, I didn't know you were coming, too! How have you been?" She was my music teacher; when I'd gone in Freshman year with a clarinet under my arm, she'd saved my life by suggesting that maybe, with all my hyperactivity, I should take up drums instead. She'd then gone on to convince my parents to sell my woodwind and get me some percussion.

"Good, Andie," she smiled. "How are you?"

"Oh, I'm great! I'm just--"

"Settle down, girl," she laughed, and I realized I'd been bouncing up an down on the balls of my feet. "There's going to be a lot of stuff going on soon. No need to be antsy."

Lily (Camp Leader)

I watched as all the kids dashed off to stay in their accomodation, little did they know that they would only be here for a couple of days, whilst we got them all vacinated. Then they would be moving into a small village with the locals and living in tents for the rest of the four weeks. I heard a girl ask what we would be eating and I walked over to talk to her.

"You'll be eating well don't worry, we have great chefs on the camp site and they will make sure you always have clean water and good food."

"Clean water? There's loads here," the girl said curiously, indicating the pool.

"We are only staying here for two days. We have to go into the village and get to know the locals so that we can construct that school," I glanced at her name tag, "Paige."

Paige looked surprised but excited that we would be living with the people that we were helping. I saw that she was itching to tell everyone.

"Go on, spread the word, everyone will want to know!" I said giving her a gentle shove in the small of her back. She smiled and ran off to the girl she had been talking to before, Allison I think her name was.

Allison:

I yawned, looking around at the camp. It was....interesting but I wasn't here because I wanted to. I was here because I had to be.

I chuckled as Xavier talked to Paige and then she danced over to me. I only knew my old English teacher by name because he was the one who got me into trouble...

"Allison!" she said and tackled me. We both fell to the ground, giggling.

Xavier(Mr. Stewart):

I sighed and leaned back against the building.

"Hey Xavier." I jumped when Ethan appeared beside me.

"Damn, Ethan," I muttered and looked away, back towards the small group of kids talking to each other. "You like scaring people, don't you?"

He shrugged and leaned against the building. I suddenly wanted my guitar, which I had left back home in America. I sighed again and stepped away from the building.

Leah:

I looked around the camp bored. I saw a girl and grabbed her hand like we were bestfriends "Hi, I'm Leah. You are?" She looked at me like I was insane "Cassie." I let her hand go and said "Wanna hang out with me? I'm so totally bored and you seem fun."

Joey-
I walked into the cabin and jumped up on one of the top bunks and sighed.
" This is the life, aye?" Oli groaned and plopped down on the floor.
" We should go hit that swimming pool," he said brightly. I shrugged and jumped down from the bed, pulling my shirt over my head and draping it over my shoulder when I landed.
" Okay then, let's go." He stood up and took off his shirt. " Wait," I mumbled," we don't have swimming trunks." He scoffed and pushed me out the door.
" Just go in the shorts your wearing, no one's judging you." I shrugged and ran to the pool.
The water was cool and refreshing, perfect for the warm day. I surfaced and sighed, grimacing when Oli jumped in next to me.
" Hey," he mumbled while shaking my arm," over there." I turned to the direction he was pointing and shook my head.
" Oi. Hey girls," I yelled," there's pleanty of room for more!"

Allison:

I looked towards the guys in the pool and pushed piage off me.

"I'm so in!" I yelled and pulled off my dress. I had my bikini on underneath.

I ran and jumped into the pool, splashing water over the guys.

"Hey Paige!" I called, turned back toward her. "Come on! Join me!"

I screamed when one of the boys picked me up and then started laughing.

"So," one of them said. "What do they call you?"

"Allsion," I replied and grinned at him.

"Oli," he said. "This is Joey."

I looked at the boy holding me. "Joey, would you mind letting go?"

He grinned and let me go. We all started laughing, completely forgetting about our surroundings. Hey, I thought, this was going to be fun! No school? Hot weather and a pool? Yep. Fun.

Ethan [Mr Williams]

I rolled my eyes at Xavier's shock. Sometimes he was completely oblivious. Still, it was vaguely endearing, at times.
I leaned against the building for a rest. Already jetlag was beginning to set in, and the sound of teenagers running incessantly around our camp was doing nothing to aid my fatigue. I didn't understand how they could have so much energy after the six-hour flight from Heathrow; I'd barely slept on the plane and was now suffering the consequences. Though if I remembered correctly they'd been just as hyper then aswell. I rolled my eyes internally and poked Xavier in the back.
"How's things?" I asked.
He shrugged. "Same old. Still..." he mused, staring off blankly for a moment. "It's strange to be so far away from home."
I nodded. "It's nice to get away," I murmured, swallowing thickly.

Xavier(Mr. Stewart):

I sighed. "Sometimes," I muttered and glanced towards Ethan.

He shook his head, watching the kids in the pool. I could hear them screaming...

"Anyway," I said, quickly looking away. "Those kids sure are hyper, aren't they?"

"Yeah."

I looked around for a moment, frowning. "Where did the others go?" I could only see the trio in the pool and Paige. I could have sworn there were more than four with us.

Lily

I walked over to where two of the teachers were talking.

"Do you think maybe you could get them into the cafeteria? They are more likely to listen to you than me," I said as I approached.

"I don't know about that," one of the teachers said. I laughed. "I'm Ethan, and this is Xavier."

"Hello, I'm Lily, though you probably knew that," I said smiling. "So, shall we round up those kids?"

"Lets do it," Ethan said and he turned towards the pool. "Oi! You lot, in the cafeteria now if you want food!"

The three in the pool jumped out at the thought of food and rushed, closely followed by Paige the girl I had talked to earlier, to the building labeled Cafeteria. Cassie, the other teacher on the trip helped me round them up. One particular girl named Leah was difficult to find but we eventually found her lying underneath the bed in the boys dorm. She claimed that she was going to scare them when they came back in.

Oli

I ran into the cafeteria dripping wet, but I was starving so I didn't care. I plonked myself down at a table next to Joey, Allison and Paige. I picked up my knife and fork and started banging it on the table. "We want food! We want food," I chanted. Joey shrugged and joined in. Soon everyone in the cafeteria was chanting. Lily walked in with Leah, who ran to a table, and Lily yelled above the din.

"Come guys, keep it down, the chefs have been working hard and I have an announcement before we eat."

We didn't stop.

"If you don't pipe down then you'll all go without!" Ethan shouted as he walked through the door.

Everyone stopped, chanting was fun but the thought of no food was devastating. Lily stepped onto an unoccupied table at the front of the room and cleared her throat.

"As you all know this isn't a leisure trip. We are here to help a small village and in two days time we will be leaving here and living in that small village with the villagers to get to know them. That is when you trip really starts..."

Her speech carried on but Paige leant in to talk to us. "I knew about that, but I didn't want to tell anyone cos' I thought it would spoil everyone's fun here. We have to have injections too, last minute ones that some people may not have had. Other than that though, it's going to be great, we get to go diving and to go on safari and everything!"

I groaned, injections, yuck.

"Alright, enjoy your time here, let's eat!" Lily finished to a round of cheers. The chefs brought out lasagne and chips, it looked delicious.

I chowed down on the lasgana, it was delicious!
" This is good," I mumbled. Oli nodded in agreement, too fixated on his food to give a verbal answer. From the corner of my eye, I saw Allison shake her head.
" You shouldn't talk with your mouth full," she lectured. I smiled and swallowed my food.
" Happy," I teased. She rolled her eyes and nodded. Oli laughed at me and I tossed a chip at his face.
" Don't throw food," Paige said in a mocking tone. Oli laughed louder, his eyes pressed together tight. I pouted and put my fork down.
" What is it? Lecture Joey day or something?"

I laughed as the girls reprimanded Joey.

"What is it? Lecture Joey day or something?"

I laughed harder at that remark.

"No, it's just you seem more sensible than Oli. There is little point in lecturing him." said Paige.

I gasped in mock offense and threw a chip at Joey. Allison rolled her eyes and Paige gave Joey a look that said 'I told you so'.

Andromeda (Andie) Hendrix

Possibly the only time I wasn't hyper was when I was eating something. You see, food...well, food was a very serious business for me. So I chewed carefully, savoring every piece of lasagna as I watched everyone lecture Joey. He was lucky there was food in my face, or I probably would have joined in. I did notice him squirming a bit at the intense stare I was giving him.

"All right!" I cried when I was done, and bounced in my seat until we were told what was going on next.

I looked over at that Andie chick and quickly glanced away. Well, at least she wasn't grilling me. Mr.Stewart got up on the small stage, about two chairs with a side table with some scary looking needles on them. I swallowed hard and pushed my food away, taking a few gulps of my drink.
" You shouldn't slurp your-" I glared at Allison which quickly shut her up. I smiled victoriously.
" Morning everyone," Mr. Stewart started, the whole café grew silent. " Okay, first things first, vaccines," there were a wave of groans and a few screams," hey, hey," he continued," calm down, it'll be over quick. After that you have the day to yourselves, but, keep in mind that we set off for the village. Okay, now, form a line." I groaned and dragged myself in line behind three others. Yeah, this was going to hurt.

Ethan [Mr. WIlliams]

I rolled my eyes as the group of teens starting muttering and whispering about injections. Surely they'd already had at least three to get her in the first place? I shot a grin at Xavier, who got down from the stage to make way for the nurses and quietly made his way towards me.
"So, looking forward to tomorrow?"
I smiled. "I'm looking forward to finally getting some sleep!" A yawn escaped me at the mention of sleep, and Xavier laughed.
I turned slightly to see that most of the volunteers were done with the injections - quite a few were melodramatically holding their arms and wailing.
Lily jumped up towards enthusiastically and with a worrying glint in her eye. "You two ready for injections?" she asked, and I blinked. Oh yeah.
Xavier pulled a face. "I suppose..." he murmured, and we both walked over to the pair of nurses.
