"Where you going Jordie," I asked while she put her blond hair in a pony tail watching her reflection in bathroom mirrors.

She walks pass me and into the living room, I follow behind her."My friends are coming to pick me up to go to the movies and watch,'Alice in Wonderland,',"

I raise a brow as if I'm interested,"Oh, can I come?"

Before she could answer her phone vibrates in her pocket, digging into her jeans she press the phone to her ear,"Hello."

A few words are exchange before she terminates the conversation and slipping it back into her pocket."Sorry big bro, I gotta go," She picks up her purse and give me a goodbye wave before closing the door behind her.

After hours of watching,'Family Guy ,' reruns I pick up my cellphone and start dialing, their must be at least one person that I could hang out with today.Series of calls and text messages later my search comes to no avail.EVERYONE WAS BUSY!

Shifting into action I change my home clothes into something neater - A blue polo shirt, along with my favorite hoodie and denim jeans.I was headed towards the pizza parlor. Their must be at least one person there I could hang with.

I set my pencil down with a sigh and flexed my cramped fingers. Well, my homework was done, and it was still sunny outside.

"Mom, I'm going out," I called, slipping on my shoes.

"Where? And for how long?"

"I don't know. Just around town or maybe the park. I'll be back by dinner."

"Have fun."

I opened the door and stepped out, breathing in the fresh air. Deciding with a shrug that I'd at least see what the park was like, I started off. This town was much bigger and busier than our little 500-people population we used to live in. I watched people coming and going, idling wondering what their lives were like.

I passed by a Pizza Hut, and my eyes happened to flick over the windows - and then stop. I stared at Ollie and Alexis, eating and talking at a table together. Hurrying on before they could see me, I suddenly felt deflated.

Maybe I should go home, I thought sullenly, kicking at a rock in front of me.

But I knew the only thing I'd do was sit around moping, so I continued on to the park. Finding a bench, I seated myself underneath a tree and stared at the river.

There was a girl by the bank; she looked strangely familiar, and as I watched her I saw her draw a folded piece of paper out from her pocket and set it in the water. I watched in fascination as the paper (folded to look like a crane) swam slowly out to the middle, where it got caught in a current and bounded away.

As the girl turned, I realized she had been the latecomer at Alexis' party. I thought about going up to her to say hi, but the look on her face made me stop. There was an air of sadness about her. I stayed in my spot instead, watching as she rose and walked away.

For such a small town, there sure is a lot going on here, I thought.

I hummed the song as I set his birthday crane into the river at the park, watching as it bobbed atop the water for a bit. I reached out to touch it, but before my fingers could make contact, it darted away from me on a gust of wind. "No," I breathed. "I wasn't done with you."

But Gwen, that's exactly how it was before.

I caught someone's eyes as I rose, thinking that perhaps, she looked just as down in the dumps as I probably did. But I figured I needed to tend to my growling stomach before I did anything else.

Dude, Gwen, she goes to your school. I stopped. She did! I prodded my memory, trying to come up with a name to go with the face. "Anne--no. Alex--Ally--Alison! That's it."

I stopped on one heel and turned around, going back up to her. "Sorry I didn't recognize you. Something wrong? Need someone to talk to?" I offered the best smile I could muster.

Emily

"Mom, I'm leavin'! I get off at three, see you then!" I quickly grab my lavender cardigan and my new nude, Michael Kors purse, and run out the door before she has time to say goodbye.

I hop in my GMC and drive to Gold Spindle, where I would serve food to people for three hours. I hate the job, but I need the money for my purses. There is a new white Coach purse that I just need to have!

"Afternoon, Emily," and old man nods in my direction as I enter through the glass doors of the diner.

"Hey Benny, how are the grandchildren?" I ask, throwing on my apron. I quickly stand in front of him to take his order.

"They're fine, thanks for askin' sweetheart."

I smile. Benny is a regular customer, here at the counter every morning at around eleven, until I got off at work, at three.

"No problem, Benny. Now, what can I getcha?"

Hey Jas, your character is needed!
There's plenty of space for you to put her back in. :)

She could bump into Emily at the Gold Spindle. They could start chatting about something interesting?

She could also bump into Alison and Gwen. Something interesting could happen there?

Or you could come to pizza hut and join Ollie and Alexis? Ollie's feeling pretty awkward at the moment, you could ease the tension for him.
I didn't know what to put here so I put this.

It's actually pretty hard getting all of the characters to interact with each other! It was easier at the party because they were all together.

Oh well, when there's a will, there's a way.

Plus I have a water pistol, and they solve every problem. They're even better than guns.

:thud:

*Jasmine! As everyone's said, just have your character bump into someone else's. You're definitely wanted! :D *

Alison

I looked up in surprise as the girl - I couldn't remember her name from the party - approached me with a friendly smile.

"Sorry, I didn't recognize you. Something wrong? Need someone to talk to?"

"Oh!" I said, gathering my thoughts. "No, I was just thinking. I tend to zone out and according to my sister, I get the weirdest facial expressions when I do. Um, what's your name again?"

"Gwen," she replied, sitting beside me on the bench.

"Well thanks, Gwen. I'm Alison."

"I know," she said. "I've seen you before at school."

"Oh, yeah." I wondered whether it would be polite to ask her about the paper crane she had released in the water. "Um, so...what were you doing there? I mean with the paper and stuff...is everything okay? You seemed kind of sad."

Usually I wasn't this nosy (well, not overtly at least). But I liked this girl already, and concern made me ask questions I normally wouldn't of someone who I had just officially met.

"Um, so...what were you doing there? I mean with the paper and stuff...is everything okay? You seemed kind of sad," Alison said to me, her voice softened with concern.

I just smiled and sat back against the bench, staring into the sky, drinking the clouds in. "Well," I began finally, "I moved here three years ago, from SoCal. And, when I was there, I had this really awesome friend. He was geeky, like me, but extremely shy. Somehow we ended up best friends. But he had a pretty aggressive form of leukemia, and..." I trailed off and wiped a tear from my cheek, taking deep breaths to calm myself. "And he died, when he was thirteen. So, nearly three years ago. The crane was a letter to him." I sniffed, still brushing my cheeks off with the heel of my hand. How could I break down like this in front of someone I hardly knew, especially if I hadn't even done it to my family in years?

It was easier that way.

"Sorry," I said again. I probably came off as uber weird. "So, anyway, I was thinking about going to grab some pizza or something. Are you up for it?"

You have no idea how much I want a friend right now.

Alexis

My phone rings. I hold up a hand to Ollie, than answer it.

"Yes?" I ask.

"Alexis, this is Danielle, vocals start in ten minutes, where are you?" She asks.

"Oh, crap, I forgot. I'll be there." I hang up.

"I am so sorry Ollie. I have vocal lessons in, like, ten minutes, I have to go. I am so sorry. I toss a fifty on the table.

"See ya, Alexis." He says.

"Just keep the change, I think that will cover the bill." Isay. He picks it up and stares at it a minute, then waves goodbye to me.

I arrive at vocals.

"Hey, sorry I am a bit late." I say to the teacher.

"You can't be late anymore, ALexis. Its not like I am teaching a choir, it is just the two of you." he says. Me and Danille took vocal lessons together.

"Okay, measure twenty three, pick-up to twenty four." The teacher says.

Danielle starts singing. She is pretty, but I get the aria in the middle, something she wasn't pleased about, but she can't pop and roll her voice as well as me.

Lyda:
I changed into dry clothes and climbed into the car.
" I'm hungry" I whined at Lance.
" Watcha hungry for?"
" Coffe." He sighed and pulled out of the parking lot, it wasn't long before we were in the Starbucks on the strip. I ran in and ordered a vanilla latte, Lance ordered the same.
" What do we do after this?"
" Dunno," he moaned while scooping up some foam on his finger," wanna hit a movie?" I smiled and looked up quickly as the door bell over the door rang. I soon lost intrest and looked down.
" Which movie," I asked between slurps.
" Beats me. Anything will-"
" Hey guys," a voice sounded from behind me. I turned at the sound of Ollies voice.
" Sup," Lance murmered, seeming to be more interested in his drink.
Lance:
" Hey Ollie," she pratically yelled. I swear that girl's engertic. Ollie flinched and sat down in the seat next to me. " What are you doing here?"
" I had a bit of money left over from pizza and was craving a cup of joe. I just got done with Alexis, she had-"
" Vocals," I finished for him, grimacing a bit.
" How'd ya know," he mused. I shrugged and picking at some foam running over the rim of my cup.
" Just a guess. She and Danielle have some weird freaky singing competion going on, of course she'd have vocal classes."
" They do don't they," Lydia said thoughtfully. She had been on the phone for a bit. " Daybreakers start in about 20 mins," she announced," wanna catch it?" I shrugged and got it.
" Ollie," I nudged him a bit on the shouled," you up for it?" I swung the keys on my finger while he thought.

Without giving it much thought at all, Alexis threw fifty dollars onto he table to pay for the bill. The food only cost just over twenty five dollars! What was I supposed to do with the change, I couldn't seriously keep it could I? She shouldn't have even been paying for the food in the first place. I was the guy after all. That's what guys did when they went out with a girl. They had to pay, it was practically a rule. I'd have to pay her back the next time I saw her. I had no idea where I'd get the money though.

I had just left the restaurant and had gone into Starbucks when I saw Lydia and Lance sitting at one of the tables.

"Hey guys," I called, heading towards them.

Lydia seemed happy enough to see me. As we spoke, she told me about Lance and her going to watch a movie. Lydia asked me if I wanted to go. I didn't really feel up to it, I was feeling a bit tired. I had money from Alexis, but I couldn't really use that. It would be all right as long as I payed er back though, I suppose.

I obviously hadn't realised that I'd been daydreaming, because my thoughts got interrupted by Lydia nudging me on my shoulder.

"Ollie, you up for it?" She asked, playing with her keys.

"Sure," I grinned. "Why not?"

Lydia and Lance finished their drinks and a few minutes later, we had left the cafe.

As we left the strip, I thought. Maybe I could ask Lydia out? She was pretty cool and she didn't seem bothered about much, which was something I liked in a person. But then what about Alexis? And Alison? I liked her too. Wow, I really sounded like a man slut... Lydia, Lance and I had just turned a corner, when someone suddenly bumped into me.

"Sorry!" I heard a familiar voice say rather quietly.

I spun around to look at where the voice came from. It was him. He was standing in front of me, smiling. Until he saw me, that is.

"Oh... it's you." Peter mumbled, clearly not very impressed. "Oh, hey Lydia," He said, noticing the twins. "Hey Lance."

Seriously? What the hell had I done to him? For some reason, Peter seemed to have some kind of hatred towards me.

I tried to think back to last night. I'd hardly said a word to him, not that I didn't want to. He was with Alexis most of the time. It was as if they were attached at the hip come to think of it. I had sort of spoken to him when I was speaking to Emily. Maybe that was it! Maybe he fancied Emily, and was jealous of me because I was speaking to her? I had no idea why anyone would be jealous of me though. I mean, come on. I'ts me.

Then again, he fancied Alexis. Oh! Maybe that was the problem? I had spent a lot of time with Alexis lately, and I was thinking of asking her out...

"Hey," I tried to sound as nice as I possibly could. "Where are you headin' then?"

"Don't know." Peter shrugged. "Where are you going?"

"Movies." I smiled. "You wanna come?"

"Uh..." He spoke slowly.

"Come on Pete! The more, the merrier!" Lydia grinned.
I didn't know what to put here so I put this.

"By all, I'll see you tomorrow!" I say to my coworkers as I shut the back door to the Spindle.

What to do now? I decide to take a stroll down the main street. A cup of coffee, maybe? No... I'll go check out some new purses.

Just when I rounded the corner onto the main street, I saw them. Some kids from the party. But I'm wearing my uniform! I don't want them to see me with grease-smell hair and a stained white skirt!

So I look in a shop window and hide my face behind my hair. They pass me. I sigh and turn to walk in the opposite direction of them, but then I hear a whisper.

"Is that Emily?" Lydia says.

No, no its not! I think to myself.

I feel a hand tap my shoulder.

"Emily?"

Crap.

"Emily?" I smile, tapping her on the shoulder.

"Um..." She mumbles nervously. "Yeah?"

Lydia muttered something behind me. I didn't hear what she said exactly, but It wasn't a very nice something. Why were girls always so bitchy? I was about to say something when Lydia interrupted me.

"I didn't know you worked at Spindle." She was almost laughing.

"Yeah..." Emily spoke quietly. "I do. It's terrible I know!"

"It is pretty bad!" Lydia was laughing now. So was Lance.

Emily's cheeks were turning redder and redder every second. She was staring at the floor uncomfortably while Lydia and Lance continued laughing. Peter was even giggling slightly now.

"You think that's bad!?" I grinned. "I wash cars for a livin'. I even struggle at that I'm so thick! I mean seriously, Spindle is nothin' compared to some of the cars tha' I fail to wash!"

As I spoke, I noticed Emily's lips curve into a small smile. The twins and Peter were quiet now. I didn't think they knew what to say.
