Where do you write?

I always find it interesting how each writer likes to write in very different places that usually share the same themes (isolation for one).

When I'm at home, I usually like to go out to the porch to write since it's so much more peaceful there and plus I cannot write if there's no breeze around.

At school, I usually write from the comfort of my bed with my laptop in my lap. I open the window to get that nice breeze flowing in, and I also always have a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with a glass of water on hand. If I don't have those latter two, I get nothing done (if I'm writing, I'll usually go through about four glasses of water per hour).

And when I'm down at camp for my summer job, I try to escape into a little foxhole down a bit from the staff camp site to do my writing. Although, that's if I'm lucky. This past summer I never had anytime to do anything besides work constantly from 7 am to 10 pm (it was fun though).

I write in bed. It doesn't matter what time it is, that is where I write. I also use a laptop, but it's my dad's and I just borrow it because he won't buy me one of my own. I don't drink or eat, and I go to the toilet first because if something distracts me... I may as well give up and go and do something else, because when I become distracted, I STAY distracted. I write in bed, because it's the only place I can write in my room, and I only want to write in my room, I feel safe there, surronded by my drawings and mess. I usually listen to some music, nothing loud though, if everything is silent, I can't consentrate. One other place I like to write (but this is only for notes and worldbuilding stuff mind you) is during morning home class. My teachers don't seem to mind, one of them knows about my story and is waiting for me to become famous, as long as I stop for prayer. Home class for me is actually rather isolated, I don't have a bucketful of friends in the same home class as me, so I don't usually talk to anyone anyway.

I write in my locked room with my dog curled up at my feet and type on the computer. I never hand write because it hurts my hand after numerous hours of writing. I type because I can type about...60 words per minute, according to a typing program thingy.

I don't have a laptop, only a computer, so if i decide to type, it's in the office, but sometimes i just sit by the river or somewhere quiet in the garden, where no one is around and write in an old notebook. I hate eating when i'm writing, because I never get anything done, and if I have a warm drink, I'm usually too absorbed in what i'm doing that when I come around to have a sip, it's gone cold.

Nothing like hot chocolate on a raining afternoon with your pen & paper (or laptop) and classical music playing in the backround. *sigh* The times when school wasn't a high priorority.

I write on my laptop in my beanbag chair (which is over in a corner of my room) hehe And I shut the doors sooo nobody bothers me!

I write at a computer desk, but before I was OK with the computer desk, I had to be OK with my room, so....

it took me a while before my room became like this, I had to work at it...







...but it came out alright. still some stuff to do (especially the wall color), but you know how it is...

Anyways, that was unexpected... If you don't mind me commenting, your room, it's really dark. That blue wall makes it go from cute to depressing, sorry. Or you could go to lighter shades of white and blue for you covers and curtains. If not, I'd change the wall color to a mellow yellow with a tinge of brown (desert-like yellow). Mind you, it should be sponged on to create texture... And then go over it with a washed out yellow (same coat) to accumalate a 'air-brushed' effect. It goes well with the colors and your hard redwood floor. To continue, I'd replace your current desk that has the computer on it, and switch places with the other desk on the far right. Why? Well I'm suspecting that the doorway to your room is from where you shot your pictures. So basically someone is walking up from behinde you while you do homeowork or writing. Bad fanshawe. Also, it means that you could be writing next to a window with light pouring in if you made the switch. Oh, wait! From the looks of it, there is a chair in the first picture located on the left side of the room. Usually chairs are paired with a stability structure, like a desk. And from the looks of your other pic (the desk), there is only two corners in the room where that can be located. Not at the far back corner, because we can see that; not from where you are taking the picture of the the first, because you needed space to get the whole picture in so you went back a bit into the doorway. Two gone, two to go. Your second pic... It looks like there's a curtain right there. SO that means there is two sides of windows in your room, or the curtains in the first are the same curatins in the second. Using the chair as a last bit of info. I suspect that your computer desk is located on the far left of your room upon entering through the doorway (which is from where you shot the first pic, not your second... Your second was shot from the smaller writing desk) Am I right? I'll make an educated guess that your clothing closet is located on the wall we haven't seen, with a beside lamp that is next to the left of your bed (while laying on it). There is a heater in that area I suppose, as everywhere else it's to cramped for a heater to go. ABout your desk (with the computer on it), I suggest moving your pen cup and replace it with the black speaker located closest to you computer. Why? Your pen cup looks unstable with all the top heavy weight; with all those pens sticking out, it's easy for the curtain to just nick one of the pens for it to all come crashing down. Also, if you've been at your house for a long time with that computer set up, your focused sound coming from one area of the desk (all those speakers) has a chance to change your hearing frequency due to the lack of equal distribution of sound across the plain. SO, move it to where the pens are now to equalize the sound. To continue, you might have a chance of suffering tunnel-carpel syndrome. Because your keyboard is too close to the edge of the desk, causing your forearms to drop 30 degrees in a downward motion. This added tension to your ligaments while you type is all the more stressful while you write; not good, especially while writing. I can say this because, in one of your stories I think, you said how your hands were hurting from writing so much after the end. Just looking out for you. Oh, almost forgot! Your sound system is located somewhere on the right side of your room upon entering, unless it's siding upon your tall shelf directly in front of you as if you were on your bed (possibility, yes; probable, no). What is that book called on your desk? "Writer's Manuel"? Can't totally see.

I like your room... Sorry for the rammbling. I'm very opinionated at times. I hope my hypotheses were somewhat correct. Tute!

I think the book on the desk is "Writer's Market".

I usually write at the computer downstairs, but only because I don't have my own computer or laptop in my room, and I don't write as much with my hand. I have to have some form of music on, as it relaxes me, and probably a drink of water or something.

Market? Nah, that's to crazy of a "T" to be one. It looks like it's a "Y"... Whatever

Naw, I think it's Writer's Market too

I write... at the mall.

Why? Er. I don't know why. Probably because there's so many people. It creates a kind of contrast. Crowded, yet lonely. And when I get bored of writing, I can go shopping. =3

And, of course, I write in my room. No computer in my room though, so almost everything is usually handwritten. XD

I write anywhere in my house, as long as there aren't many people around who'd look over my shoulder or ask what I was doing and as long as the TV isn't on. Since usually someone will be in a room and watching TV, I go to my bedroom. I write with my stereo or radio on as load as I want. Which usually isn't quiet since eventually it'll get to a song I like and I'll turn it up and start singing with it. So, I shut my door so I don't disturb anyone. My computer is upstairs in our 'play room.' It's the only one that works properly, which is why EVERYONE has to use it. Even though you can play some games on my brother's. Most of my story is hand written because of this, but when I started it was...still mostly written. But I'd update the disk I had the typed version on often and add more. I don't really do that now. I've never gon outside to write, but I've thought about it.
