Darkness! (part two of Gone trilogy)

*Ok, I just wanna see how this goes. This is a story book based on a book. I figure it'd be fun. So here we go.*

Except for the young. Teens. Middle schoolers. Toddlers. But not one single adult. No teachers, no cops, no doctors, no parents. Just as suddenly, there are no phones, no internet, no television. No way to get help. And no way to figure out what's happened.

Hunger threatens. Bullies rule. A sinister creature lurks. Animals are mutating. And the teens themselves are changing, developing new talents—unimaginable, dangerous, deadly powers—that grow stronger by the day.

It's a terrifying new world. Sides are being chosen, a fight is shaping up. Townies against rich kids. Bullies against the weak. Powerful against powerless. And time is running out: On your birthday, you disappear just like everyone else...

For any of you who haven't read this book there's a barrier surrounding everything. Basically just keep in mind you can't go too far out just know that the places of importance are coates academy, Peridido beach, and the power plant.

Peridido beach kids will be staying in the town and coates kids stay in the academy. Food is scarce and Peridido beach has all of the supplies. Coates kids are starving but instead of joining with the "townies" they want to own them. Peridido kids simply want to survive but at the same time they're not to keen on having more mouths to feed.

The power plant:

The power plant is the key to everything. You control the power plant you control the power that goes between the two places. That means; street lights, TV's (they may not have live broadcasting but they still have dvds), refrigerators, ovens,etc... So far Peridido beach kids own the power plant but how long that will last with the coates kid's constant raids is debatable.

Name: Payton Tymn

Age: 14

Appearance: Payton has short, very layered brown hair. She is a cross between Latino and European. She has the olive skin but European eyes and sharp features. She is tall and willowy with a dancers build. She has moss green eyes. She usually wears elegant black clothing.

Personality: She's very blunt and crude. She's pretty defiant as well. She is independent and strong, and conceals her general emotions. She is kind of bitter for obvious reasons. She is nice when you get to know her, but until then, she's rock hard. Many people can get the wrong idea at first. Outside she seems like her own island, but inside she really wants to be accepted.

Ability: She makes improvised weaponry (Molotov cocktails, pipe bombs, zip guns...etc.) and legit weaponry. She has a power that enables her to create deadly weapons from barely anything.

Side: Perdido beach

Background: She co-runs (Four other people also do) a group in an abandoned yoga dojo for children 6-10 who have no where else to go. This probably branched from the guilt of all the things she helped her father accomplish. He ran numerous black markets dealing in weaponry; legit and improvised. They sold to the very rich, and/or the very connected. He taught her the trade so she could take over after he died, was arrested, or killed in a transaction. Her father also taught her marksmanship and she is extremely skilled. From this, she's very stealthy. She was "home schooled" by her father but also occasionally attended the public school. She was taught to be suspicious of everyone.(This might be why she always wears a bullet proof vest no matter what.) So she's a pretty emotionally messed up, in the way that she was taught not to have any emotions.

Name: Melinda Scott

Age:(14-15) She is 14 and a 1/2



Appearance: Long wavy brown hair with auburn highlights. Tall and thin with grey/green eyes and an intimidating stare. When she uses her power her eyes are greener. American/British backround.


Personality: Strong, mentally and physically. Sarcastic and ruthless with traitors. Seems to be mean but really cares about the children.



Ability: She can cut off nerve endings/paralyze. Like if she's in a fight, by a simple jolt through her fngers, her opponent can no longer move that part of there body. She is also an amazing fighter. She knows all the power points and weak parts of the body.



Side: Peridido beach



Background: She co-rules the beach with Payton, with two other, lesser rulers. She also trains the younger children on survival tactics and how to fight if there is an attack and Payton cannot supply them with machinery. Her parents were in the CIA and taught her to fight starting in 1st grade. Her mother made guns and taught her how to use them. She is good with guns but not even close as Payton. She has a twin brother Tyler who went to the Coates side. He is the male equivilent of her, even has similar power. She considers him a traitor and will do anything for revenge.



Other: She is up for relationships, but not commitments or love

I'm making another character since this seems to be progressing pretty slowly. He can be deleted if this gets a sudden boom in popularity.

Name: Will Murphy

Age: 15

Appearance: Tall and muscular, with long shaggy blonde hair and ice cold blue eyes. He has very bold Roman features.

Personality: Sociopathic, completely crazy it seems. He's a merciless killer and seems to have gone a bit off the rocker. He's acts very calm and collected but what he says and what he does always gives him away. He is trigger happy, and sadistic and always has a loaded gun in his holster. Kids at Coates only keep him around to do their dirty business. They generally consider him completely nuts and usually steer clear of him.

Ability: He, unfortunately for a lot of people, is an amazing tracker and gunman. His power is that he can cause extreme pain to someone by just willing it to happen. His power has about a 4 metre range.

Side: Coates

Background: His father always took him on hunting trips and taught him how to shoot and track. (Which he probably regretted later.) He had somewhat of an idea what he was like, but he was never around for long enough to notice. When Will nearly killed a kid at his school for pulling a chair out from under him, they sent him off to the Coates boarding school. The problem with that is that all the kids there did something horrible to land up there, so trading tactics only improved his skills.

Other: Up for love, but he gets jealous.

Name: "Buds" (Liam Ale)

Age: 12

Appearance: Average 12 year old size, average fitness, clear skin, and a green baseball cap with no logos. He wears a green school-uniform, complete with an unbuttoned blazer and dress shoes, as well as a pair of i-pod ear-buds that he has in his ears at all times (hence the nickname Buds.)

Ability: Invisibility

Side: Coates

Background+Personality: Buds isn't much of one for talking. He has his invisibility, and is well fit, and is very intelligent. But he's never been heard speaking a word. If he's ask to do a task, he does it without question, on his own usually, while with his headphones on. He never stops listening to music. He even has a collection of batteries for his mp3 player. He has enough to last about 10-20 years, and keeps 2 extras on hand at all times in the inside pocket of his jacket.
Nobody ever asks about Buds' opinion in anything, and he hasn't ever objected. People don't know a thing about him, and nobody knows what he's listening to every day. All they know is that he's almost always doing some menial tasks, while listening to his music. He's just a working shadow everyday, with an ability he barely uses, with a straight face on wherever he goes.

OK, I have a question.

Is the sinister creature claimable? Or, were you planning for him to just be a character controlled by everybody?

Age:14



Appearance: Long wavy brown and golden hair that falls just below rib cage. Deep brown eyes which usually changes shades from green brown to red brown during the period of day. Chidlish like features; button nose, small cute mouth, arched eye brows and button nose. Her hair is always worn with bangs top half placed up to the side a large red bow wrapped around the pale white hair tie.



Personality: Childish, bubbly, extactic, caring, worrier (sometimes), hot headed, bold and clumsly



Ability: Controlling wind



Side: Coates Academy



Background: Rich family which came from a country unknown in Europe. Her family brang her up in a religious side, giving her strict rules to finish school and become married by twenty. She has a twin brother and a smaller brother both gifted in computing and hardware.



Other: For most of her life she only had the companion of her imaginary friend; Ran. He made her life happy during her family upset, now as she finally made friends Ran haunts her dreams for forgetting him.

Sounds like a good storybook idea. Edit: I didn't realize someone had invisibility so I changed my power and backround.

Name: Erika Night

Age:14



Appearance: Five feet four inches tall. Long blonde hair with piercing blue eyes. Always wears a black hoodie, blue jeans, white sneakers, and a white top. Perfectly white skin without any blemishes.


Personality: Uncaring about anyone, but herself. Will only follow the orders of someone else if she deems them helpful to herself and staying alive. Can be manipulative (kind when needed). Mostly sits or walks apart from the group.



Ability: Empathy, the ability to read and change the emotions of those around you.



Side: Coates Academy



Background: The daughter of a prestigious painter. She was very lonely due to her father always in his room painting. She experienced so many different emotions that she learned to control the emotions of others.


Other: Doesn't like the rich kids that much.
