"I'm sure I'll manage. Shoot," I replied to Zire.

And so they explained the events since my absence. In return, I shared my tale.

I understand if you guys don't believe me," I said. "But something has inspired Akira to turn sides. She'll be a great ally too- we can learn some more about the mutants.

The others agreed in an unsure manner. Everyone turned to Akira, who seemed to be conflicting internally.

"Maybe now isn't the best time to talk with her," Calli suggested. Being a girl as well, she seemed to understand Akira's situation more than the rest of us.

"In the meantime," Burns said. "We need a plan. we can't bother ourselves with mutants much longer- we have a job to do. We need to face them head on."

Akira

They talked, and she sat away from everyone in silence, obviously the one who was different. Oh how she wished to be one of them, feeling the emotions of a human and actually having hope. She was an empty husk, few emotions still existed inside of her. Hope or anticipation wasn't one of them. She had no aspirations of the future and it saddened her to think of it like this. Just another defining detail that made her different then everyone else.

She silently tore a leave to tiny bits over and over again. It was a purified leaf and it felt alive and pure in her hands. To think she had caused the death of it.

"In the meantime," Burns said. "We need a plan. we can't bother ourselves with mutants much longer- we have a job to do. We need to face them head on."

All of them seemed to agree with him, all of them knowing that they had to get rid of the mutants. She knew they were probably picturing glorified battles, swords clashing and guns shooting. Head on fighting. Foolish.

"If you fight them head on, the mutants will keep on coming, for the more powerful a mutant is, they can make minions of a sort. More mutants. There won't be an end to them." Akira looked up at all of them now, eyes trailing on their faces one by one. She felt herself close her eyes and sigh. She was about to go against orders, she was about to throw everything away. "We have to kill the ones that can make the other mutants. The minions are mindless beings, monsters in their own right. The more powerful were afraid to make them smart because of retaliation. There is the Commander Maya Blackwood. She is in charge of them all. Then the second command is Azul, a cat like mutant, and the third was me. Aela is the scouting commander. It is these four who could make more mutants. It is these four who are the ones you have to kill."

"And how do you expect us to get to them though?" Burns asked. He was turned towards her, eyes closed. Blind as anyone could ever be. He would be the only one if duty called who wouldn't be mistaken by her illusions.

"I can get you in there, after all, I am one of those four. My suggestion is letting me call Azul and we can capture you all. You will be brought to base and then I will free you guys and then you can to as much killing as you want."

"What about the other mutants?"

"Without a commander, they will be mindless creatures. They won't even be hostile. That is all I have. Take it or leave it." Akira sighed again, eyes turning to face the woods and scanned them briefly with her eyes. She had a sense of foreboding rush through her. The forest mutants were silent, but something didn't seem right. Maybe it was the fact that she had almost fully pledged herself against her own kind, or maybe it was the fact that she did not know where Azul was. She wanted him with her at the moment. She felt so alone.

Guys, I don't think Silversun is coming back. Maybe one of us should take over her character because I have a feeling this Storybook is nearing its end.

**Guys, I had the weirdest dream today(As in today morning/yesterday night). I dreamed that everyone in this storybook joined together and started tormenting me about things such as 'how my posts were bad' and 'how it was really hard for everyone else to post with me'. And then when I tried to ignore you, you guys came out of the screen of my computer carrying axes and other... sharp objects, wanting to kill me!! And the I woke up.

.

To tell you the truth I don't remember my dream very well though I know it was along the above lines :P hehe. I'll post as Azul for now until Silver or someone else posts**

How could she have betrayed us?

I was sitting on a branch of a tree a few miles away from the camp of the Saviors. Akira was with them, betraying us, telling them valuable facts that could be used against us.

I hissed to myself angrily and very confused. Akira had always been one of the Commander's favorites. I had always been her friend. Friends were rare among the mutants as most weren't very smart. Only a few of us had brains large enough to think and to command. We(we as in all mutants) had always been alone, stripped of our families and left to grow up alone among half witted creatures that we gradually began calling family. But we found friends eventually. Those who had brains larger than peanuts gradually got together and escaped from the facility. We had always been together since then. No one had yet betrayed us before. We were too close, unlike the humans, to ever think of doing such a horrible thing. And yet she had done it. One of the best ever mutants to have live had done it, she had betrayed us.

Why?

I was one who got confused very rarely but I was very confused now. I wanted to get captured. I wanted to stare her in her eyes and ask her why she had betrayed us. I was alone now. With no one to think of, with no one to talk. The commander had not returned my message yet. She still seemed to be too busy with the captured Savior named Jacks. So I was alone.

We were trained to let our emotions drive us to do things impossible to a mere human, but we were also taught not to let our emotions get the better of us. I was letting my emotions get the better of me.

I was strong and yet I felt weak, I was surrounded by mutants but I felt alone. I jumped off the tree and stumbled weakly onto the ground. I stood up straight and started walking but I felt as if I was drunk, unable to walk in a straight line and yet I continued towards the camp. I would find out the truth - why she had betrayed us and I would escape when I was needed and I would take Akira with me if she wanted to. I had not cried since I had been born and I did not intend to start now... yet.

**Hmmm... okay, yeah. Hope this is okay? What happened to Jacks by the way?**

*Nice Dream, Firestalker* :D

Kitrina,

Dark shapes were clouding her mind, roaming through it, gliding over her brain, controlling it. She felt knives stabbing her body, her warm blood flowing, draining her.
Pain was throbbing throughout her body. But the little girl was not even aware anything in her body right now.
She felt a hand touching her, its warmth made the pain reseed. Her mind unclouded.

The little girl moaned in pain, and opened her eyes weakly.

A blurry face came into view. She could not place her memory of who he or she was. But something told her that the person was not an enemy.

Pushing her self up, she surveyed the unfamiliar environment.

She saw that she was in a forest somewhere, and a fire was there also. She looked at the group of people who were near her. They were vaguely familiar but, she couldn't remember anyone.

She turned again and looked at the boy kneeling by her side, smiling faintly.

"Who are you?" She asked

*What do you think*

*By the way, she is in her second personality now. She's no longer the cute, innocent girl you all knew.*
Warden: "If you want to lead, all you have to do is ask."
Alistair: "What? Lead? Me? No, no, no. No leading. Bad things happen when I lead. We get lost, people die, and the next thing you know I'm stranded somewhere without any pants."

Your posts are great, Firestalker. Please don't let me haunt your dreams.

Daniel

Suddenly, the Mutant who had tricked Burns, Calli and I stumbled into the clearing. everyone stood up in defense, but it was soon apparent he was in no condition to fight.

"Why? Why?" he mumbled. He staggered, oblivious, past us and straight to Akira.

"Why, Akira? What could drive you to do this?" he sighed.

"Hey, why are you here?" I asked.

"I want to know why Akira is helping you. Do what you will to me. Akira was family to me, and I have the right to know of her betrayal.

**Hehe, Thanks Tazakk, I kinda enjoyed being chased by you guys until C caught up with me and started hitting me with a baseball bat... or something like that o.O :P**

**Anyway, okay, a lot to write... hmm where to start?**

Azul

The clearing was only a few miles away and I succeeded in reaching it in a few minutes. They were talking around the remains of the campfire that had led me to their camp. Akira was on the opposite side of where I was so I walked towards her weakly.

"Why? Why?" I mumbled unable to shout or hiss. I staggered towards her, the others didn't matter, they were worthless in this scenario.

"Why, Akira? What could drive you to do this?" i asked, sighing as I did.

"Hey, why are you here?" the savior, Daniel asked.

It was then that I noticed that everyone had stood up in defense.

"I want to know why Akira is helping you. Do what you will to me. Akira was family to me, and I have the right to know of her betrayal" I hissed at last before staggering forward again.

I should have known that they would not take what I said seriously. They thought we were monsters. Mindless creatures that were incapable of love and affection. But they didn't see the truth. They were the real monsters. All this had happened because of them. We were fighting for a pure cause, we were fighting for our freedom.

Before I could even keep my foot on the ground several saviors were on top of me, attacking me even when I had made it clear that I was not hostile. I fought back of course. I would defeat them and find the truth, if it was the last thing I would do.

"Stop!" someone shouted.

It was Akira.

Zire

Kitrina moaned in pain and opened her eyes at last.

I smiled happily before drawing away, letting her push herself up.

"Are you okay?" I asked, but she seemed to have not heard me. I was about to ask her again when she looked she turned at looked straight into my eyes. Her eyes were filled with unmistakable confusion.

"Who are you?" She asked to my complete horror and surprise.

I stared at her open mouthed, unable to answer.

"Who are you?" she asked again, a hint of impatience in her voice.

"I... you... you don't remeber me?" I asked finally, forcing the words out of my mouth and my numb lips.

She frowned and shook her head, not taking her eyes off me and most likely unaware of her surroundings.

"Am I supposed to?" She asked.

I opened my mouth to reply but was interrupted when the cat mutant that we had previously encountered suddenly staggered out of the bushed and muttered something that was inaudible to me.

I stood up in alarm and realized that Kitrina had done the same thing, despite her weak condition.

**Okay guys??**

**Oh yeah, by the way I don't know who jumped on Azul, so you guys can choose :P, if it's not okay then I'll change it okay?**

Burns,

When Azul enters the clearing, I'm on my feet in an instant. I barely hear his almost tearful speech, and I immediately jump on him, closely followed by Calli. Azul snarls, and zealously fights back. I'm so intent on making sure that I eliminate this one threat that keeps me from helping our planet, that I almost miss Akira's shout of, "Stop!"

I look up in surprise, listening intently, and Azul takes a wicked swipe at my side. I feel blood spurt out. I groan.

Akira

Akira watched them fight, she watched Azul fighting back as if he was lifeless, tormented. Azul once used to be strong, he once used to be wicked and eager but he used to have dreams. Now he looked as if he was defeated and lost without directions.. They were hurting him, and he was barely fighting back.

"Stop!" She yelled, her voice finding is way out in the madness. But the call was too late. Azul had already swiped just as she said that and hit the side of Burns. She watched him fall over in pain.

She would have cried at this moment, all this emotion and confusion running through her head, but she was not one to cry. Yet the pain was so severe, it felt like her heart was being ripped out of her chest.

"Please stop..."

"Why Akira? That is all I want to know."

"Because they are not monsters Azul, they are not these cruel creatures that you believe they are, that I once believed they were. We hate them just because they are human, just because they are of the same kind as the people who had cost us our lives. But they are individuals, and they are only trying to gain back a home that they have lost." Akira was now to her feet, walking towards him."

"We have lost a home also! They were the ones who did this to us, and then they shunned us! They were the one who destroyed their planet. It is them who are at fault!" Azul snarled. He was standing there stiffly, as if he was contemplating to attack.

"Azul, I know it isn't like you, but I want you to listen, I want you to see it from their side of view. They only think us monsters because all we have done is try to kill them. They have emotions, they have feelings, they have wants and hopes. They are like us, and yet, they are far better then we ever will be." Akira was now standing in front of him, looking him directly in his eyes. "You are the only friend I ever had in this dreary world, and I don't want to lose you so please listen."

**I didn't think it was Calli who jumped Azul, but okey-dokey. guess I'll go with it  *

Calli

I lurched forward just in time to grab Burns' shoulder and he hissed in pain. Blood was gushing fast and I was getting worried. I was in no way trained in any sort of medical gibberish, but I knew I had to stop it or he'd die. Then again, with two mutants in our camp, one confused girl and an injured guy, things kept changing so fast I wasn't sure I knew anything about anything any more.

Biting my lip, I pressed both hands to his crimson side and he groaned. But if he lost much more blood, he'd pass out. Help me, I thought desperately as I held my hands closer to his side. He was already paler than when I first met him, and my only focus became not letting him die.

"Daniel!" I hissed, trying not to draw the attention of Akira and Azul. He caught my desperate look and edged his way toward me, also seeming not to want to be noticed by our two mutants.

"Crap," he muttered.

"That's not the half of it. Go get me a blanket. I'll try to bandage him up," I ordered. Man, I guess I got the hang of this team-medic thing after all.

Daniel nodded and hurried over to the previously discarded backpacks and returned a moment later with a navy blanket. I let go of Burns' side for a moment and reached into my boot and withdrew my small hunting knife I kept in there.

"Cut it into thick strips," I said in a hushed voice, holding the knife out to him. The mutants were talking and, although I couldn't make out what they were saying, I knew they were both upset and possibly twice as dangerous.

My hands were covered in Burns' blood and it seemed like he was having trouble breathing and his eyes were closing. We were running out of time. I'd kill Azul myself if all this went to waste.

*Okay? Suspenseful enough? Lame enough? I dunno, I don't have much.*
I gave up telling people I hear voices. So now I talk to the voices instead.

Burns,

I groan, and shake my head. Shay is whining somewhere, and someone was wrapping something around me. Bandages. I thoughts snap into focus. Azul. Fighting. Claws slashing. I remember blood. Lots of blood.

"Burns? Are you there Burns? Come on! Pull through!" It's Calli.

"'M fine," I say weakly. I try to get up. Fresh blood starts seeping out of the wound.

"No, you're not, Burns. You're losing blood faster than I can staunch it,"

"First aid kit," I mumble, "In my bag,"

*Hey guys, well, I've been gone for like a month and just took the time to catch up on it. Although I feel like I shouldn't need to explain myself, I will anyone since someone sent me a rather unkind PM. I won't name anyone, but I'd like everyone to remember for a minute that this is just a rather small insignificant thing in the whole spectrum of life. I took a break from YWS because I felt that that's what my life was growing around, and I realized that wasn't necessarily smart or healthy. (Not to mention the fact I play highschool crazy basketball and it dominates my life). I really do like you all, everyone actually, but please, please just view things with a wide spec. Okay, I'll get off my soap box. :) **

Commander Blackwood:

"You're really in a bind," Jacks spat at me. It had been a few days since she had been in out captivity, but her hostility had remained at an extremely high level. I couldn't blame her though, in fact, I somewhat admired the nails in her soul.

"And why do you say that?" I asked. She turned her face towards me, just so I could take in the bloody black and blue eyes and deep claw mark. I had caught a mutant who had snapped under his new mutations mauling her last night. I quickly broke it up and swiftly killed the mutant. She had been tied up and sleeping, so the surpise attack left those large marks on her.

"Because your messenger just arrived, and she's not looking too well," Jacks replied. True enough, Aela was panting heavily, her wigns drooping, as she charged through the tent flaps. She must've landed by Jacks's side of the tent.

"We've got problems, Commander," Aela said in a puny voice. Her eyes looked blurred with tears and she simply collapsed before my eyes.

"Told you," Jacks whispered under her breath. I withheld the stronge urge to slap Jacks, but I realized that I needed to focus on Aela.

"Tell me what's going on," I simply said. I poured her a cup of water and she quickly slurped it down. Jacks looked like she too wanted some water, but that would've been risky.

"Akira has joined them," she whispered. My heart instantly thundered with anger. Without realizing it, I quickly made the change into my most powerful form. Jacks looked at me in suprise. I howled and howled until my soul stopped burning so much. The entire camp was so quiet that I could've sworn they had ran away from the frightening sound. Slowly, the enitre camp gathered around my tent.

"Tell me more," I whispered. My voice was gravely in my current form, and the menace came through my words. Jacks's eyes were peeled on my muscular form in awe.

"Azul went to get her back," Aela quickly spilled, "And then someone attacked him, and I didn't know what I could do. SO I flew and I flew and I found you and now I don't know what's going to happen to him!" Azul, my lovely friend. His mischevious grin flashed through my memory, and then, the sly look of Akria joined it. I raised my snout into the air and howled again. I filled my howl with the destruction I would bestow upon Akira. If she cost me Azul, she could be sure she was as good as dead.

I strode out of the tent to face the mutant group. I explained our situation, and the rising tension soon matched my own. We were hungry, and we were lusting for blood. We had a full reason to attack now, and we were going to use it. It was just a matter of plans.

*I hope that works!!*
**I also hope I stayed with what was going on**

*Okay, Silverson, sorry for sending you a 'unkind' pm, but I was just annoyed at that time. Not at you, okay? I was angry at a cousin who just lied to me, and well......So, I'm sorry, k? Well, atleast it got you typing again.*

*Guys, have you watched X-men 3? Remember how Jean Grey acted there, with two personalities. Well, a similar thing is happening to Kit. She doesn't know who the enemies are or who her friends are.*

*Firestalker, should I let Kit battle Azul and or should I just leave him*

Kitrina,

She stood up, along side with the boy near her, but she did it not out of fear, but out of curiosity at the new comer. He was a cat-like person who seemed vaguely familiar.

But her curiosity turned to surprise when the people who were near her, started attacking him before he could say anything.

Her instinct was to help the cat person, but her heart told her that it was probably a bad idea.

Then, a sudden torrent of memories clashed through the little girl's head, making her fall to her knees with a cry of pain. She held onto her head, closing her eyes due to pain. Her head felt as if it being sliced with knives.

A purple light glowed around her, giving out a low, powering-up sound. the light intesified, and then flashed brilliantly.

Everyone in the vicinity flew off their feet and got slammed onto tree-trunks or the forest floor. Nearby trees fell.

Kit stood up, her eyes were glowing purple.

*What say you?*

Yes, you were annoyed with everyone, making more enemies than friends. If I recall right your still angry with me and not talking to me right?? :( :( :(

That is up to you C, he's much too weak and confused to fight against anyone though. You can join the mutants though? What say you?? Or not?**

Azul

"You are the only friend I ever had in this dreary world, and I don't want to lose you so please listen" Akira asked from me.

Her eyes, like mine, were filled with emotion. I wanted to refuse, what good would listening do? But my heart and soul forced me to agree. She was a great friend to me and what she asked from me was the least I could do for her.

"Very well, I will listen" I replied finally meeting her eyes and refusing to look away.

Akira smiled briefly before continuing.

"It may have been the fault of the humans that this world is in its current state, but they are not like the humans that did this," Akira paused and held up a purified leaf, "they bring life instead of death. They are only trying to purify this impure world, heal its injuries and..."

I was listening carefully, willing to hear her side of the story, hoping that I could understand her, hoping that we could come to an agreement. But before Akira could finish what she had to say, a blast of energy forced us off our feet and propelled us into the forest mercilessly.

I closed my eyes when I lost control of my body as it flew through the air. I briefly glimpsed Burns and Akira flying through the air as I did. While Akira seemed surprised, she was in no serious danger. Burns of the other hand had a large gash on his face. I had not intended for it to be so deep, but it was his fault. He should not have attacked me in the first place.

I opened my eyes when I landed and looked around whilst standing up. I glimpsed Akira standing up as well. She may have joined the Saviors but she still had her old instincts, she had not completely changed, she was still the Akira I knew.

The air purifier named Kitrina stood in the middle of the the camp, her eyes glowing purple as she looked around. I looked around as well and stared in horror as I saw the extent of the damage the blast of energy had cause. Numerous trees lay dead, pure and impure alike. I glimpsed numerous dead animals who had nothing to do with this battle. Among their corpses lay the corpses of a few mutants, it seemed that they had been feeding on some plants nearby, not meaning any harm to the Saviors and yet the Saviors had killed them.

I would not have been so angry if Akira had not said that they were in fact 'bringers of life' and not death. While we reigned the forests, every death was for a greater cause. No one needed to die for nothing, we lived in solitude but in peace.

The Saviors had struck again and this time they had succeeded in almost killing a fellow Savior. I glanced at the crumpled figure of Burns. He was the closest thing to us among the Saviors and he was about to die at the hands of one of his own kind.

I saw Akira a few feet away. I wanted to be with her. She may have betrayed me and the other mutants but she was still my friend and I did not wish to betray her. I would help her for now. She may even return to us.

**Hmm... okay, yeah its a little confusing, PM me if I made any mistakes okay?**

Zire

Azul had hurt Burns badly. I was about to run to help Burns but something I hesitated and looked at Kitrina.

Kitrina started to glow suddenly and the next thing I knew, I was flying through the air along with the other Saviors struggling not to give in to the sleep that plagued my mind. Unfortunately the moment my body hit the hard ground, I slipped into unconsciousness.

**Yes, its small, but I had nothing else to write, hehe**

**Okay guys??**

Once again, I fought the losing battle for consciousness. Burns was gravely wounded, and I had to help somehow. I found the first aid kit lying in the grass, and I grabbed it and began crawling towards my injured friend.

Then I looked around. Everyone was hurt. Only Kit stood unharmed. I got confused. I went to help one person, then another. Soon I became disoriented and collapsed to the ground

"Damn," I mumbled ans I lost consciousness yet again.
