Two Quick Updates (Dec. 6 2009)

Only two quick updates this week; mostly just to fix two small gripes I had. The first is the listing of the featured works next to the featured works block on the front page. That way, you can see the top 5 without scrolling through the images.

The second update (and more consequential) is the easy linking of usernames. When you go to reply or post a new topic, you'll see a new bbcode labeled "user". Place it around the username, and it automatically creates a link. For example:
Big Brother

CodeSelect all

[user]Big Brother[/user]

It's a small addition, but I think it'll prove helpful in a lot of areas. But keep in mind that as with any link, it only works when you use the correct spelling (correct capitalization isn't necessary).

Just a quick note because I know someone will send me a PM about this...

The new Featured Works listing worked well with a short quote, but smaur (or someone else) Snoink changed it recently to something much longer. That breaks the layout a tad, making too much white space. Since I like the listing, I'll find a way to make it work but don't expect anything to change for at least a week.
