I can start from in town, and you can start on the ship, hm?

Sirena>>

I sigh, walking home through the back alley ways. There might be addicts and drunks and nasty men back there, but I can defend myself and it's better then being on the crowded streets. As I look down the street at my home I notice something unusual. A cherry red and black carriage sits in front of it. I gasp, knowing this could only be my dear sister back from Spain. I run down the streets, holding my skirts up with one hand, my hat on with the other. I burst through the front doors to find my sister embracing my mother lightly.

"Vailea!" I shout, running to her. She turns, startled, but smiles and holds her arms open when she sees it's me. "Oh, Sirena, I missed you so much!" She sighs into my shoulder. When she pulls away, her eyes are red and teary, and I now mine are too. I smile at her, my first smile, my first real smile, that is, since she left. I turn to my mother, stony faced and stiff backed. "I'm taking her out," I say simply, pulling Vailea out the door with me. We run, laughing, down the dirty street, catching the eyes of a few passerbys. We run to the Laughing Spider pub for some well earned ale. We haven't seen each other for at least sixteen months, and that is a very long time to be away from your twin. Suddenly she puts my laughing chatter to a halt as she inhales sharply. "Oh, Sirena, mira. It's los hombres rata." I just look at her. She rolls her eyes. "Pirates!" She hisses in my ear as she swivels my bar stool towards the door. My eyes go wide as I see a surly bunch of dirty, proud men in the doorway. Suddenly there's a shout from outside, and three shots go off. Now the people in the pub are all interested.

Arabella >->

Arabella quickly weaved her way through the streets, her agile body ducking in and sometimes under drunken men passed out in the streets and slumped up against walls. She quickly came to the cart she was looking for and squinted at the small loaves of bread laying before her. "How much?" She asked the man. He grunted.

"Two shillings per ma'am." Arabella smiled.

"Perfect," she took up 4 loaves and tossed the man his shillings, quickly turning to make her way back to the giant floating vessel that was her home. The Cuervo.

She had just gotten into the kitchen and was stashing away the bread when the shots rang out and her heart lurched. She automatically clutched the broadsword by her side and ran out of the kitchen up onto deck her heart racing. No, no, no! She thought. She bolted down the plank her large breeches tripping her, and gasped at the sight before her.

Isadaemus>>>

I stand on the bow of my proud ship, the Bodlina. The wind blows through my hair and I breath deeply, reveling in the smells of the sea. Even though I am almost the youngest on this ship, my crew respects me and do not question my authority. Sometimes you have to hand it to pirates: they do not question ownership within their own ranks. Suddenly, my lookout shouts.

"Storm's fast approaching, cap'n!"

Damn.

Jimmy

As per usual, the ship's 'gentleman' had found his way to the pub ahead of anyone else on the Cuervo. How he managed this was beyond most, since he left the ship at the same time as everyone, and then simply threw himself down an apparently random choice of a street at breakneck speed.

Now however, he sat within the pub, nursing a pint glass filled with spirits - what kind, he couldn't tell. He'd asked to be surprised by the girl behind the bar, flirting with her a little. He had a good feeling he could find out easily enough though - he'd just have to ask what the most expensive variety had been.

He heard a commotion at the door, a light scuffle. Fellow pirates from the Cuervo, perhaps? Turning, Jimmy thought to himself that he didn't recognise them. With the exception of one - an argumentative crewman from a ship he'd jumped some time ago. He cursed, starting to skirt around the bar, trying to find a back way out.

At the sound of a shout, and the crack of shots going off, Jimmy cursed and crouched. He certainly hoped those hadn't been directed at his fellow pirates, but then, his luck was starting to run out.

As if to confirm that final thought, he heard a shout from just within the door - and there stood his old shipmate, smoking pistol in one hand, and a second that seemed to still be loaded in his other. "You think I wouldn't recognise that uniform, Calderon?" The jovial shout echoed through the pub, offset by the fact that the loaded pistol was now pointed in Jimmy's direction.

Glancing about him, seeking help, Jimmy stood up, hands held up. "Well, uh, hello to you to, Vincent. How goes it?"

The pistol waved at him, "Now, now, Jimmy. You should have said goodbye first - you forgot to do that, remember?" The man gave a grin, baring rotten teeth, "Captain'll give me a nice bonus for this."

Jimmy winced - he'd expected as much. He hadn't exactly departed that ship on tender terms with the captain. He looked to the bar girl - she'd seemed interested in him, maybe some help there?

She simply shrugged, waved a dismissive hand at Vincent. "Kill 'im if you want, I don't give a damn. Just don't do it in my bar."

Jimmy glared at her, he'd expected a little more than that from her. But this was not a good situation at all - no pistols, an unhelpful bar of people, a murderous acquaintance, and, worst of all, an unfinished glass of ale sitting behind him - and he'd already paid for it!

Arabella >->

The pistol cocked and seemed about ready to fire, the finger poised for a breath-less moment before a broadsword appeared on the man's neck. Arabella grinned smugly.

"I don't think you'd be wanting to pull the trigger on my shipmate, sir. It might result badly for your luck, and your neck." She said, her voice smooth and calm.

She glanced at Jimmy, who stood frozen, then back to the man awaiting his response.

Sirena--->>

I glanced between the three pirates nervously. I couldn't let pirates be killed on land. Now that was just silly! No, if they died, they deserved to die at sea. "Now, wait." I said, standing up between the man with the pistol, and the one who was trying to run out the imaginary back way. "You," I said turning to him. "There's no back way, stop trying to run out of it. You'll just run into a wall. And you," I said, turning to the man and the woman in the doorway. "At least kill a pirate with honor? That means on the water." I pointed out the door.

I sat back down and took a swig of my ale, not looking at anyone. Suddenly I felt a strong hand grasp my shoulder, and heard Vailea's small gasp as the same happened to her. "You don't go gettin' in a pirate's business unless yer willin' to give a hand," A gruff voice said behind me as I was wanked off my stool.

Jacob~~

A lanky guy's body stood above the short Spanish natives as he lumbered down the main road. In his hand clutched a book, quite strange for a pirate to be carrying. Honestly he didn't give a damn about the actual book but the map on page 84 and a half. A certain map that would put his blond butt in early retirement then his mind wandered to his crew, where would his lovelies be? A group of onlookers gathered outside the local bar and Jacob sighed but was slightly amused, of course that would be fun.

Jacob pushed his way throughout the crowd, elbowing a the fat drunks but gingerly touching the damsels who flamed red at his touch. He soon was located right behind the ugly one and bent over so his mouth was right next to the man's ear.

"I would suggest you would get a better bonus if you took a bath more often," Jacob chirped but it quickly transformed into an ugly hiss, "But if you shoot that lad they might have peel your sorry ass off the bar, and I wouldn't want to worry the pretty lady over there."

"Captain!" One of his crew shouted.

Isabel,

I walk the streets of the port that we've just docked in, feeling very awkward. Land is NOT my thing. I stroll past a bar, and I notice that there seems to be a fight currently in progress. Well, nothing new there. And then I stop short, because some of the voices issuing from the steamy building are those of my mates. I curse and roll my eyes. Honestly. Do they really feel the need to start tussles everywhere they go. I turn around and push past the people watching the unfolding drama.
And remember...A portkey can be any sort of harmless object...A football...or a dolphin.

Brenda >->

I sprinted down the alleyways, word of the fight had spread fast, and the crowd was able to be seen from the boat. I fought my way through the crowd to see one of my shipmates, Vincent, with his hand on two girls' shoulders, a young gypsy with a sword pointing to him, and another man standing between them, his face slightly paled.

The gypsy spoke. "Don't hurt those girls, they had nothin to do with it!" She walked forward and grabbed one of them bringing her to what looked like safety at the time. I stepped forward, walking toward Vincent, glaring at the woman. "Whats goin on here?"

Vincent glanced at me. "Taking whats ours Brightie, this man right here jumped ship couple years past and hes gotta pay the price, and these lassies think it should be taken elsewhere."

The woman stared at him. "Because it should be, so lets take it there!" I started at both of them, one thing was for sure. I wasn't used to this entire thing just yet.

Jimmy, Pirate, Cuervo

Jimmy's relief at being rescued by his crewmates was very, very clear. The Bodlina was one ship he'd been hoping never to see again. While some of the ships he'd worked with just hadn't worked out, and they'd parted on good terms, he'd been forced to swim from the Bodlina before someone (notably Vincent) could kill him in his sleep.

On the other hand, the situation in the bar was rapidly becoming more and more out of control. Vincent seemed to be on the verge of kidnapping a pair of rich looking girls as compensation for not being able to kill him, and more and more people seeming to show up to argue over him.

Jimmy enjoyed being the centre of attention and all, but, well, this was just stupid. This kind of attention was never healthy, after all. He glanced at the girl Vincent had addressed as Brightie. A new girl on the Bodlina?

"You're absolutely right, miss Brightie!" Jimmy said, edging towards where Arabella and the captain stood, "This whole business should be taken elsewhere. Better still, forgotten about!" He gave a few sage nods, "After all, your captain would hate to see me again. Perhaps it would be better if you simply didn't even mention my name..."

Jarrod, Bosun, Bodlina

A pair of salt-encrusted, stiff leather boots thudded against the gangway as Jarrod finally decided that the ship was good enough for him to take some shore leave. He checked his weapons momentarily, not wanting to get caught without them in town. The port was a place, after all, filled with the most undesirable kinds of people. Both pirates and locals alike had something about them that Jacob just couldn't like.

Hurried footfalls brought his attention to a red-faced, panting boy who skidded to a halt in front of the bosun. "You Jarrod?" The kid asked, pointing at the ship behind him, "From the Bodlina?"

He gave a curt nod. "I am. What of it?"

"Some'n up at the Laughing Spider wanted me to tell you that Vincent and Brightie are facin' up with some folks from the Cuervo. Somethin' about an overdressed guy called Jimmy."

Jacob gritted his teeth. Jimmy Calderon - a true waste in Jarrod's eyes. The man had never worked on the ship, and frankly, he'd been glad to be rid of the fool. A bullet would have been wasted on him. And now, Vincent was dragging the new girl into a fight over old wounds.

The bosun adjusted his cap, leaving the messenger boy to hurry along behind him towards the Laughing Spider. He'd need to sort Vincent out properly this time, make sure that thick skulled idiot knew how to serve on a ship properly. Maybe he could try to clean the decks to Jarrod's satisfaction... That was a chore truly dreaded amongst the crew. Jarrod's satisfaction, of course, didn't exist. Working in the sun, or the rain, without a break, constantly scrubbing, in the hope that Isadaemus would eventually take pity and tell them to call it a day.

As for Brightie, well, he was normally averse to handing out extra duties to new crew-members. But then, she'd been foolish enough to get dragged into a fight with another crew. Things between the Cuervo and the Bodlina, in his opinion, should be settled at sea, and not on the land.

(( Yo be honest, I'm still extremely lost. But I'll give it a shot! xD ))
(( Oh, and another idea - would anyone like to have a "forbidden love" storyline with Allyson? They're usually very interesting! ))

Allyson, First Mate, Bodlina

Allyson strode along the deck, sheathing her rapier quickly. She had been in the weapons room, trying out the new batch of swords that had been delivered when she'd heard the news of a fight going down at the pub.
The captain won't be happy, she thought, shaking her head in distress. Then another though came into her mind, she could just try and sort it out without Isadaemus finding out...

Allyson ran off the boat just in time to see Jacob, the bosun, walking quickly away with a messenger boy following him. He'd obviously had the same idea.
Smiling ruefully she set off in the opposite direction, the was an alleyway right here that provided a quick shortcut to get to Laughing Spider.

------------

She strode into the pub as though she meant business. The first person from her crew she saw was Brightie. Brightie! That girl was going to get a talking to - getting into fights with Cuervo members on land really wasn't a smart thing to do.
"Right," she said, raising her voice so everyone could hear her, "it's probably best if we get out of the pub. Wouldn't want to ruin any of their fine beer now, would we?"
A couple of people laughed nervously and Allyson turned to Vincent.
"What are you thinking of?" she snarled, "and what're you doing with those girls? You thinking of becoming a kidnapper?"

((Did I get it right? ))
"It is curious how often you humans manage to obtain that which you do not want."
