Here's my 2nd charrie...

Name: Cullum 'Birdie' O'Deavory

Age: 14ish (not exactly sure...)

Gender: chicaria, although most people think she's a boy...

Ship/Position: La Bodlina/ erm, a pirate?

Appearance: short, thin, wiry, short/scruffy red hair, one blue eye and one completely black eye, freckles, very pretty face, although she always wears some kind of hat or hood to hide her it...brown pants, grey boots, white shirt with an old, threadbare vest over top. Generally dirty.

Personality: Birdie is a bit...blunt. She's straightforward, too the point, and truthful. She's not going to tell you 'Oh, yes. That pretty girl Shirley will definitely give you a fair chance'. Oh no! Rather, she would say 'That filthy town-bitch would never go with the likes of you. She likes her men big, numb, and decorated.' She is quiet funny to listen to, actually, and she makes a great friend as well. You just have to get past her boy-ish appearance and over sized hats to meet the real her. A pretty, truthful, loyal, determined girl who is quick on the ropes and not scared of much.

Background: Birdie was born in London, from Irish descent. She was stolen at the age of 7 by one of the nasty local gangs, nearly killed, saved by a handsome couple when she was around 9, but then they were murdered while strolling in the park after sundown. After that (she was about 11 or 12 by then) she found herself at the docks, and was taken aboard by the Capt. Been there ever since.

Strengths: Wicked quick on her feet, with her mind, and with her dagger. Fights well from being with the gang (she was capable of learning things at a young age, you know), is very smart, though she never shows it, and one of the most loyal people you'll ever meet.

Weaknesses: A bit nervous around people she doesn't like/strangers, defensive, quick temper, talks too much sometimes

Likes: The ocean, wind, rain, sailing, the thrill of a storm, laughing around the dinner table with her mates, ale, sun, being free, bathing, and fruit. Not the thick, falsely sweet fruit from the pastry shops, but the real, juicy, sun-warmed fruit from the trees and bushes in exotic places

Dislikes: strangers, when boys are exasperating or slow, when nothing is happening or she has nothing to do, people trying to go against her personal beliefs, and being fancy (using manners, wearing stupid girl's clothes, brushing her hair, or eating bite sized lamb chops with people she doesn't like), the morning after a good night of gambling/drinking, being landlocked.

Other: Up for love, possible twin sister from her younger years of life? Someone would need to post her twin, though, if she where to have one.

Name – Jarrod McLean

Age - 19

Ship/Position – Bosun aboard the Bodlina

Appearance – Tall and fair-skinned. He has mid-length black hair that falls messily around his face, and is tied into a ponytail at the back. His eyes are a pale blue. He generally wears grey trousers and a black shirt, with a high-collared, tan trenchcoat over this that hangs down to cover the top of his knee high boots. He wears a pair of fingerless gloves, a black scarf, and a peaked baker-boy’s cap.

Personality – Jarrod is a real no-nonsense man. He takes his job seriously, and often assigns severe punishments for anyone who refuses to work. That said, he doesn’t particularly like handing out corporal punishments – the crew has to work, and an injured crewman is a waste of space. But he’s not above cutting rations for anyone who does a shoddy job. He isn’t all too popular with the crew, being an extreme perfectionist, and not much of a talker, either.

Background – Jarrod’s family was long indebted to that of a merchant, and he worked on one of the man’s ships as a cabin boy. When it was attacked by pirates, though, he wasted no time in choosing sides, taking up with the pirates. Due to the way he’d been treated by the merchant’s family, he had developed something of a mean-streak, recognized by the captain, who essentially apprenticed him to the bosun. However, while recuperating in port after being struck down by illness, the ship was taken by the British fleet, and the crew put to the sword. So Jarrod found his way to the Bodlina.

Strengths/Weaknesses – Jarrod is an excellent judge of character and organizer, able to order the crew so that the ship runs in the most efficient way possible. He is a capable sword fighter, and an excellent marksman with a pistol. However, he is also as stubborn as a mule, and his tendency to be heavy-handed in sentencing crew-members to extra duties or lower rations has drawn Isadaemus’ fury more than once.

Likes/Dislikes – He’d never admit it, but he actually likes and respects the others aboard the Bodlina, and holds the captain in the highest esteem. He also likes things being ordered and ‘perfect’, and finding out how things work. He hates high society, and any government sanctioned ship, be it part of the official navy or a privateer.

Other - Up for love.

***

Name – Jimmy Calderon

Age - 17

Ship/Position – Self-proclaimed resident gentleman aboard the Cuervo

Appearance – He stands at slightly above average height, with thick and spiky copper-coloured hair, a partially-visible green headband tied in there somewhere. His face seems sharp, every angle and bone clearly defined. He has pale amber eyes, and a Cheshire cat smile. He wears the (albeit faded) parade attire of a British Commodore, though how he got it is a mystery that he refuses to elaborate on, and the subject of several rumours, both in numerous bars, and amongst the crew of the Cuervo.

Personality – As his ‘title’ states, Jimmy is something of a gentleman, or at least fancies himself one. He can often be seen behaving with all the due propriety that his outfit suggests he should. However, there are times when this appears to be mostly for show, as he is also highly sarcastic, a bit of a joker, and an almost chronic drinker.

Background – Jimmy, having spoken to a ‘retired’ pirate at a young and impressionable age, had wanted to become one for a long time, to sail the high seas and have all kinds of adventures. The fact that piracy was, by its very nature, criminal did not seem to dawn on him until after he became one. He has changed ships multiple times since first signing up for one at the age of ten, although he has been on board the Cuervo for two years. He picked up his uniform somewhere along the way, but no one – not even his former crewmates – seem to remember exactly where or when he procured it.

Strengths/Weaknesses – An excellent swordsman, Jimmy is also fairly acrobatic, and apparently born with sea-legs, so he has no trouble handling himself on a ship, no matter how rough the weather is. He also has a silver tongue and a sharp wit, though these two and the way he uses them get him into trouble as often as they get him out of it. He is also highly impulsive, and frequently overestimates his ability to get something done on his own, or his ability to handle a situation.

Likes/Dislikes – He likes people in general, particularly women, as well as any alcohol he can get his hands on, no matter the taste, and being well-dressed. He dislikes any suggestion that he cannot or should not do something, or that he could improve on something, or that he should have less of something. Reverse psychology has a tendency to work on him, if it appears to be some kind of challenge.

Other – Up for love.

Awesome!

Hm... lets see

Character name: Arabella Curio

Age: 18

Ship/Position: Cook on the Cuervo? Is that taken? *peers to check*

Appearance: Shes average height, maybe slightly smaller, with long dark black-red curls, and big BRIGHT gold-green eyes, her skin is slightly dark for she is half gypsy. She has a horizontal scar next to her right eye about an inch or so long. And she carries a small broadsword by her side even when in the kitchen that looks a lot like this:

https://www.fantasyblacksmith.com/image ... 0Sword.jpg

Personality: If you're on her good side she is very open and kind willing to help with any problem, she loves to cook aboard the ship and serve the captain. If you're on her bad side she is sharp tongued, outspoken, and you will find yourself being slapped with a spoon quite alot if you're in her kitchen trying to steal something. She is smart, quick, and rather known on the ship.

Background: Born into being a slave for a cruel master, she was raised cooking, cleaning, and entertaining the master and guests. She often rebelled against entertaining his drunken friends who often grabbed for her and was beaten. One night she was entertaining for his guests doing her acrobatic retinue when one of the men, drunk to his eyes, grabbed her arm and began to pull her toward him, and quickly ripped her arm out of his grasp and slapped the man. Her master was outraged and slapped her back, one of his long nails tearing her skin, thus giving her the scar near her eye. She escaped his estate that night and found the Cuervo about to embark on a journey. She pleaded to the captain to take her aboard and then quickly became cook after.

Strengths/Weaknesses: She is very flexible being brought up to entertain with acrobatics, and is incredible with a sword and unarmed combat from years of living with the people on the ship and fighting out of drunken passengers. Her cooking is exceptional and she keeps the kitchen in perfect order. She loves animals and almost always refuses to kill the animal shes needs the meat from herself and often makes another ship-mate do it and when she does use the meat she tells herself that its not an animal its just a pink paste. She is also stubborn and has a quick temper when it comes to her food.

Likes/Dislikes: Again, she loves animals, she also enjoys music and is often heard singing in the kitchen, however she cannot ballroom dance rather well. She loves the sea and the wind. She hates storms and stupid passengers.

Other: Might have a secret love on the ship?? Hm?? And a best friend if anyone would like to!

She also keeps a small dog name Tico in the kitchen with her.

How'd I do?

Wonderously wonderful! Told you you'd do fine. If you, or anyone else for that matter, would like to make a second charrie for the other ship, please do! We need more characters before we can start, but not many more.

Characters...? I dunno anything about ships, so you should ask Sammy - her dad was almost a pirate once. We simply need characters! And RedBird needs to post. And we need donuts, too. They help the thought process.
